In this paper, we investigate the periodic homogenization of nonlinear parabolic equation arising from heat exchange in composite material problems. This problem, defined in periodical domain, is nonlinear at the interface. This nonlinearity models the heat radiation on the interface, which constitutes the transmission boundary conditions, between the two components of the material. The main challenge is, first, to show the well-posedness of the microscopic problem using the topological degree of Leray–Schauder tools. Then, we apply the two scale convergence to identify the equivalent macroscopic model using homogenization techniques. Finally, in order to confirm the efficiency of the homogenization process, we present some numerical results obtained via finite element approximation.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the homogenization beyond the periodic setting, of nonlinear monotone operators in a domain in ℝ N with isolated holes of size ɛ2 (ɛ > 0 a small parameter). The order of the size of the holes is twice that of the oscillations of the coefficients of the operator, so that the problem under consideration is a reiterated homogenization problem in perforated domains. The usual periodic perforation of the domain and the classical periodicity hypothesis on the coefficients of the operator are here replaced by an abstract assumption covering a great variety of behaviors such as the periodicity, the almost periodicity and many more besides. We illustrate this abstract setting by working out a few concrete homogenization problems. Our main tool is the recent theory of homogenization structures.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the multiscale analysis of a homogenization inverse problem of the heat exchange law identification, which is governed by parabolic equations with nonlinear transmission conditions in a periodic heterogeneous medium. The aim of this work is to transform this inverse problem with nonlinear transmission conditions into a new one governed by a less complex nonlinear parabolic equation, while preserving the same form and physical properties of the heat exchange law that it will be identified, based on periodic homogenization theory. For this, we reformulate first the encountered homogenization inverse problem to an optimal control one. Then, we study the well-posedness of the state problem using the Leray–Schauder topological degrees and we also check the existence of the solution for the obtained optimal control problem. Finally, using the periodic homogenization theory and priori estimates, with justified choise of test functions, we reduce our inverse problem to a less complex one in a homogeneous medium.  相似文献

The paper deals with the homogenization problem beyond the periodic setting, for a degenerated nonlinear non-monotone elliptic type operator on a perforated domain Ω ε in ℝ N with isolated holes. While the space variable in the coefficients a 0 and a is scaled with size ε (ε>0 a small parameter), the system of holes is scaled with ε 2 size, so that the problem under consideration is a reiterated homogenization problem in perforated domains. The homogenization problem is formulated in terms of the general, so-called deterministic homogenization theory combining real homogenization algebras with the Σ-convergence method. We present a new approach based on the Besicovitch type spaces to solve deterministic homogenization problems, and we obtain a very general abstract homogenization results. We then illustrate this abstract setting by providing some concrete applications of these results to, e.g., the periodic homogenization, the almost periodic homogenization, and others.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the homogenization of a nonlinear problem arising in the modelling of thermal diffusion in a two-component composite. We consider, at the microscale, a periodic structure formed by two materials with different thermal properties. We assume that we have nonlinear sources and that at the interface between our two materials the flux is continuous and depends in a nonlinear way on the jump of the temperature field. We shall be interested in describing the asymptotic behavior, as the small parameter which characterizes the sizes of our two regions tends to zero, of the temperature field in the periodic composite. In one space dimension we address the homogenization of the spectral problem for a singularly perturbed diffusion equation in a periodic medium. Denoting by ε the period, the diffusion coefficient is scaled as ε2. The domain is made of two purely periodic media separated by an interface. Depending on the connection between the two cell spectral equations, three different situations arise when ε goes to zero. First, there is a global homogenized problem as in the case without an interface. Second, the limit is made of two homogenized problems with a Dirichlet boundary condition on the interface. Third, there is an exponential localization near the interface of the first eigenfunction. Received: January 10, 2001; in final form: July 9, 2001?Published online: June 11, 2002  相似文献

We define a reiterated unfolding operator for a doubly periodic domain presenting two periodicity scales. Then we show how to apply it to the homogenization of both linear and nonlinear problems. The main novelty is that this method allows the use of test functions with one scale of periodicity only and it considerably simplifies the proofs of the convergence results. We illustrate this new approach on a Poisson problem with Dirichlet boundary conditions and on the flow of a power law fluid in a doubly periodic porous medium.  相似文献

We study the multiscale homogenization of a nonlinear hyperbolic equation in a periodic setting. We obtain an accurate homogenization result. We also show that as the nonlinear term depends on the microscopic time variable, the global homogenized problem thus obtained is a system consisting of two hyperbolic equations. It is also shown that in spite of the presence of several time scales, the global homogenized problem is not a reiterated one.  相似文献

The periodic unfolding method was introduced by D. Cioranescu, A. Damlamian and G. Griso for studying the classical periodic homogenization in fixed domains and more recently extended to periodically perforated domains by D. Cioranescu, A. Damlamian, P. Donato, G. Griso, and R. Zaki. Here, the method is adapted to two-component domains which are separated by a periodic interface. The unfolding method is then applied to an elliptic problem with a jump of the solution on the interface, which is proportional to the flux and depends on a real parameter. We prove some homogenization and corrector results, which recover and complete those previously obtained by the first author and S. Monsurr`o. Bibliography: 32 titles. This is a study of the Euler equations for free surface water waves in the case of varying bathymetry, considering the problem in the shallow water scaling regime. In the case of rapidly varying periodic bottom boundaries this is a problem of homogenization theory. In this setting we derive a new model system of equations, consisting of the classical shallow water equations coupled with nonlocal evolution equations for a periodic corrector term. We also exhibit a new resonance phenomenon between surface waves and a periodic bottom. This resonance, which gives rise to secular growth of surface wave patterns, can be viewed as a nonlinear generalization of the classical Bragg resonance. We justify the derivation of our model with a rigorous mathematical analysis of the scaling limit and the resulting error terms. The principal issue is that the shallow water limit and the homogenization process must be performed simultaneously. Our model equations and the error analysis are valid for both the two- and the three-dimensional physical problems.  相似文献

We study the homogenization problem for a random parabolic operator with coefficients rapidly oscillating in both the space and time variables and with a large highly oscillating nonlinear potential, in a general stationary and mixing random media, which is periodic in space. It is shown that a solution of the corresponding Cauchy problem converges in law to a solution of a limit stochastic PDE.  相似文献

We deal with homogenization problem for nonlinear elliptic and parabolic equations in a periodically perforated domain, a nonlinear Fourier boundary conditions being imposed on the perforation border. Under the assumptions that the studied differential equation satisfies monotonicity and 2-growth conditions and that the coefficient of the boundary operator is centered at each level set of unknown function, we show that the problem under consideration admits homogenization and derive the effective model. A Cauchy problem for a nonlinear convection-diffusion equationwith periodic rapidly oscillating coefficients is studied. Underthe assumption that the convection term is large, it is provedthat the limit (homogenized) equation is a nonlinear diffusionequation which shows dispersion effects. The convergence ofthe homogenization procedure is justified by using a new versionof a two-scale convergence technique adapted to rapidly movingcoordinates.  相似文献

We prove the homogenization of the Dirichlet problem for fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic operators with periodic oscillation in the operator and in the boundary condition for a general class of smooth bounded domains. This extends the previous results of Barles and Mironescu (2012) [4] in half spaces. We show that homogenization holds despite a possible lack of continuity in the homogenized boundary data. The proof is based on a comparison principle with partial Dirichlet boundary data which is of independent interest.  相似文献

We consider a Dirichlet boundary control problem posed in an oscillating boundary domain governed by a biharmonic equation. Homogenization of a PDE with a non-homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition on the oscillating boundary is one of the hardest problems. Here, we study the homogenization of the problem by converting it into an equivalent interior control problem. The convergence of the optimal solution is studied using periodic unfolding operator.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the homogenization of immiscible compressible two-phase two-component flow in heterogeneous porous media. We consider liquid and gas phases, two-component (water and hydrogen) flow in a porous reservoir with periodic microstructure, modeling the hydrogen migration through engineered and geological barriers for a deep repository for radioactive waste. Phase exchange, capillary effects included by the Darcy–Muskat law and Fickian diffusion are taken into account. The hydrogen in the gas phase is supposed compressible and could be dissolved into the water obeying the Henry law. The flow is then described by the conservation of the mass for each component. The microscopic model is written in terms of the phase formulation, i.e. the liquid saturation phase and the gas pressure phase are primary unknowns. This formulation leads to a coupled system consisting of a nonlinear parabolic equation for the gas pressure and a nonlinear degenerate parabolic diffusion–convection equation for the liquid saturation, subject to appropriate boundary and initial conditions. The major difficulties related to this model are in the nonlinear degenerate structure of the equations, as well as in the coupling in the system. Under some realistic assumptions on the data, we obtain a nonlinear homogenized problem with effective coefficients which are computed via a cell problem. We rigorously justify this homogenization process for the problem by using the two-scale convergence.  相似文献

By using the unfolding operators for periodic homogenization, we give a general compactness result for a class of functions defined on bounded domains presenting perforations of two different size. Then we apply this result to the homogenization of the flow of a Bingham fluid in a porous medium with solid obstacles of different size. Next, we give the interpretation of the limit problem in terms of a nonlinear Darcy law. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article, we prove an individual homogenization result for a class of almost periodic nonlinear parabolic operators. The spatial and temporal heterogeneities are almost periodic functions in the sense of Besicovitch. The latter allows discontinuities and is suitable for many applications. First, we derive stability and comparison estimates for sequences of G-convergent nonlinear parabolic operators. Furthermore, using these estimates, the individual homogenization result is shown.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the homogenization for a class of rate-independent systems described by the energetic formulation. The associated nonlinear partial differential system has periodically oscillating coefficients, but has the form of a standard evolutionary variational inequality. Thus, the model applies to standard linearized elastoplasticity with hardening. Using the recently developed methods of two-scale convergence, periodic unfolding and the new introduced one, periodic folding, we show that the homogenized problem can be represented as a two-scale limit which is again an energetic formulation, but now involving the macroscopic variable in the physical domain as well as the microscopic variable in the periodicity cell.
