In [1 Bannai, E. (1991). Subschemes of some association schemes. J. Algebra 14:167188.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]], Bannai presents a fusion condition and uses this to consider central Schur rings (S-rings) over the simple groups PSL(2,q) where q is a prime power. In this paper, we concretely describe all such S-rings in terms of symmetric S-rings over cyclic groups. The final section discusses counting these.  相似文献

In this article, we study symmetric ( v , k , λ ) designs admitting a flag‐transitive and point‐primitive automorphism group G whose socle is isomorphic to a projective special linear group of dimension at most four. We, in particular, determine all such possible parameters ( v , k , λ ) and show that such a design belongs to one of two infinite families of point‐hyperplane designs or it is isomorphic to a design with parameters (7, 3, 1), (7, 4, 2), (11, 5, 2), (11, 6, 3), (15, 8, 4), (35, 18, 9), or (56, 45, 18).  相似文献

Let P be a finite group and denote by w(P) the set of its element orders. P is called k-recognizable by the set of its element orders if for any finte group G with ω(G) =ω(P) there are, up to isomorphism, k finite groups G such that G ≌P. In this paper we will prove that the group Lp(3), where p 〉 3 is a prime number, is at most 2-recognizable.  相似文献

We classify the maximal irreducible periodic subgroups of PGL(q, ), where is a field of positive characteristic p transcendental over its prime subfield, q = p is prime, and × has an element of order q. That is, we construct a list of irreducible subgroups G of GL(q, ) containing the centre ×1 q of GL(q, ), such that G/ ×1 q is a maximal periodic subgroup of PGL(q, ), and if H is another group of this kind then H is GL(q, )-conjugate to a group in the list. We give criteria for determining when two listed groups are conjugate, and show that a maximal irreducible periodic subgroup of PGL(q, ) is self-normalising.   相似文献

Let G be any of the groups (P)GL(n,q), (P)SL(n,q). Define a (simple) graph Γ=Γ(G) on the set of elements of G by connecting two vertices by an edge if and only if they generate G. Suppose that n is at least 12. Then the maximum size of a complete subgraph in Γ is equal to the chromatic number of Γ if , or if , q is odd and G=(P)SL(n,q). H. J. Zassenhaus conjectured that any unit of finite-order and augmentation one in the integral group ring of a finite group G is conjugate in the rational group algebra to an element of G. One way to verify this is showing that such unit has the same distribution of partial augmentations as an element of G and the HeLP Method provides a tool to do that in some cases. In this paper, we use the HeLP Method to describe the partial augmentations of a hypothetical counterexample to the conjecture for the projective special linear groups.  相似文献

Let p be a prime. We study pro-p groups of p-absolute Galois type, as defined by Lam–Liu–Sharifi–Wake–Wang. We prove that the pro-p completion of the right-angled Artin group associated to a chordal simplicial graph is of p-absolute Galois type, and moreover it satisfies a strong version of the Massey vanishing property. Also, we prove that Demushkin groups are of p-absolute Galois type, and that the free pro-p product — and, under certain conditions, the direct product — of two pro-p groups of p-absolute Galois type satisfying the Massey vanishing property, is again a pro-p group of p-absolute Galois type satisfying the Massey vanishing property. Consequently, there is a plethora of pro-p groups of p-absolute Galois type satisfying the Massey vanishing property that do not occur as absolute Galois groups.  相似文献

For a natural number n and a prime power q the general, special, projective general and projective special linear groups are denoted by GLn(q), SLn(q), PGLn(q) and PSLn(q), respectively. Using conjugacy classes of elements in GLn(q) in terms of irreducible polynomials over the finite field GF(q) we demonstrate how the set of order elements in GLn(q) can be obtained. This will help to find the order of elements in the groups SLn(q), PGLn(q) and PSLn(q). We also show an upper bound for the order of elements in SLn(q).  相似文献
