本文考虑平面折射系统的极限环个数问题.根据左、右子系统的动力学性态,可以将其分为如下6种类型:焦点-焦点、焦点-鞍点、焦点-结点、鞍点-鞍点、鞍点-结点和结点-结点.利用Poincaré映射,本文证明折射系统为焦点-结点情形时最多存在1个极限环.  相似文献

Some techniques to show the existence and uniqueness of limit cycles, typically stated for smooth vector fields, are extended to continuous piecewise-linear differential systems.New results are obtained for systems with three linearity zones without symmetry and having one equilibrium point in the central region. We also revisit the case of systems with only two linear zones giving shorter proofs of known results.A relevant application to the McKean piecewise linear model of a single neuron activity is included.  相似文献

For a two-dimensional dynamical system at ?∞ < t < +∞, a process describing the transition from an arbitrary neighborhood of an unstable equilibrium to a stable limit cycle is studied. The system is reduced to the Poincaré normal form. An approximate solution is constructed as a polynomial of degree 2N containing only even degrees of the small parameter ε. The functional classes to which the coefficients of this polynomial belong are described. The function space containing the exact solution differing from the approximate one by O2N+1) is determined.  相似文献

In this article we study limit cycles in piecewise smooth perturbations of a linear center. In this setting it is common to adapt classical results for smooth systems, like Melnikov functions, to non-smooth ones. However, there is little justification for this procedure in the literature. By using the regularization method we give a theoretical proof that supports the use of Melnikov functions directly from the original non-smooth problem.  相似文献

This paper deals with the problem of limit cycle bifurcations for a piecewise smooth Hamilton system with two straight lines of separation. By analyzing the obtained first order Melnikov function, we give upper and lower bounds of the number of limit cycles bifurcating from the period annulus between the origin and the generalized homoclinic loop. It is found that the first order Melnikov function is more complicated than in the case with one straight line of separation and more limit cycles can be bifurcated.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a piecewise linear collocation method for the solution of a pseudo‐differential equation of order r=0, ?1 over a closed and smooth boundary manifold. The trial space is the space of all continuous and piecewise linear functions defined over a uniform triangular grid and the collocation points are the grid points. For the wavelet basis in the trial space we choose the three‐point hierarchical basis together with a slight modification near the boundary points of the global patches of parametrization. We choose linear combinations of Dirac delta functionals as wavelet basis in the space of test functionals. For the corresponding wavelet algorithm, we show that the parametrization can be approximated by low‐order piecewise polynomial interpolation and that the integrals in the stiffness matrix can be computed by quadrature, where the quadrature rules are composite rules of simple low‐order quadratures. The whole algorithm for the assembling of the matrix requires no more than O(N [logN]3) arithmetic operations, and the error of the collocation approximation, including the compression, the approximative parametrization, and the quadratures, is less than O(N?(2?r)/2). Note that, in contrast to well‐known algorithms by Petersdorff, Schwab, and Schneider, only a finite degree of smoothness is required. In contrast to an algorithm of Ehrich and Rathsfeld, no multiplicative splitting of the kernel function is required. Beside the usual mapping properties of the integral operator in low order Sobolev spaces, estimates of Calderón–Zygmund type are the only assumptions on the kernel function. We show that discontinuous planar piecewise differential systems formed by linear centers and separated by two concentric circles can have at most three limit cycles. Usually is a difficult problem to provide the exact upper bound that a class of differential systems can exhibit. In this paper, the limit cycle bifurcation problem is investigated for a class of planar discontinuous perturbed systems with $n$ parallel switch lines. Under the assumption that the unperturbed system has a family of periodic orbits crossing all of the lines, an explicit expression of the first order Melnikov function along the periodic orbits is presented, which plays an important role in studying the problem of limit cycle bifurcations. As an application of the established method, the maximal number of limit cycles of a discontinuous system is considered.  相似文献

Ancient Chinese history reveals many examples of a cyclical pattern of social development connected with the rise and the decline of dynasties. In this paper, a possible explanation of the periodic alternation between despotism and anarchy by a dynamic game between the rulers and the bandits is offered. The third part of the society, the farmers, are dealt with as a renewable resource which is exploited by both players in a different manner. It is shown that the Nash solution of this one-state differential game may be a persistent cycle. Although we restrict the analysis to open-loop solutions, this result is of interest for at least two reasons. First, it provides one of the few existing dynamic economic games with periodic solutions. Second, and more important, the model is an example of a three-dimensional canonical system (one state, two costates) with a stable limit cycle as solution. As far as we see, our model provides up to now the simplest (i.e., lowest dimensional) case of a persistent periodic solution of an intertemporal decision problem.This research was partially supported by the Austrian Science Foundation under Contract No. P7783-PHY.Helpful comments of T. In this paper, we consider a new class of piecewise linear (PWL) systems with two virtual stable node-foci (the meaning of “virtual” is from Bernardo et al. (2008)) which exhibits periodic orbits and chaos. This fact that PWL systems have no unstable equilibria but has chaos will unavoidably make the exploration of this chaos more complicated. Particular values for bifurcation diagram are provided. Based on mathematical analysis and Poincaré map, periodic orbits of this kind of system without unstable equilibrium points are derived, the corresponding existence theorems are given, and the obtained results are applied to specific examples.  相似文献
