A new characterization of maximal accretive extensions of accretive operators is presented. It is based on expanded spaces of the abstract boundary spaces developed by R.S. Phillips, and is therefore called the expanded Phillips theory. In particular, when the operator is symmetric, a concrete realization of the expanded spaces is given. In applications of the expanded Phillips theory to ordinary differential equations, we characterize all maximal accretive extensions of singular symmetric ordinary differential operators of order 2n.  相似文献

研究带Riemann-Stieltjes积分边值条件的奇异三阶积分边值问题正解的全局分歧结构.首先,利用相关文献,获得了此类问题的格林函数并推证其满足的性质,同时可获得此类问题等价于一个全连续算子方程;其次,在满足所给的条件时,利用Krein-Rutmann定理建立了此类问题对应的线性问题存在简单的主特征值;最后,当非线性项在零和无穷远处满足非渐进线性增长条件、参数满足不同范围的值时,利用Dancer全局分歧定理、Zeidler全局分歧定理和序列集取极限的方法,建立了此类问题正解的全局结构,进而获得了正解的存在性.  相似文献

We consider boundary value problems in a two-component domain of the Euclidean space R n obtained by eliminating from R n the boundary G. Traces on both sides of G are defined without limit passages. In a Hilbert trace space, we introduce orthogonal projections, analogs of the Calderon projections, which are used for constructing operators whose continuous invertibility implies the solvability of the corresponding boundary value problems. For the resolvents we obtain representations similar to the Krein formula. For a symmetric differential operator we show that the constructed resolvents of boundary value problems correspond to closed (not necessarily self-adjoint) extensions of this operator in the sense of von Neumann. Abstract

In this paper the odd-order differential equation M[y] λ wy on the interval (O,∞), associated with the symmetric differential expression M of (2k-1)st order (k ≥ 2) with w a positive weight function and λ a complex number, is shown to possess k-Titchmarsh-Weyl solutions for every non-real λ in the underlying Hilbert space L2 w(O, ∞) having identical representation for every non-real λ. In terms of these solutions the Green's function associated with the singular boundary value problem is shown to possess identical representation for all non-real λ which has been further made use of in the third-order case to establish a direct convergence eigenfunction expansion theorem. The symmetric spectral matrix appearing in the expansion theorem has been characterized in terms of the Titchmarsh-Weyl m-coefficients.  相似文献

Interior boundary value problems are solved for the operator of generalized biaxially symmetric potential theory. The boundary conditions consist of Dirichlet data on the nonsingular part of the boundary and Dirichlet data or growth restrictions on the singular hyperplanes, depending on the values of parameters of the operator. Continuation of solutions beyond the singular hyperplanes is considered, yielding an improvement of a result of Huber. Potential theoretic methods are used for the investigation.  相似文献

We consider a linear second-order differential equation with irregularly singular point at the beginning of the interval. For the corresponding homogeneous differential equation, we obtain the asymptotics of the solutions and their derivatives near the singular point. Using some modified Green functions and taking into account the asymptotics, we consider three boundary value problems with various boundary conditions (including a weighted one) at the singular point, proving theorems on the existence and uniqueness of the solutions and giving their structure. In the present paper, we describe invertible contractions of the maximal quotient generated by a differential expression with bounded operator coefficients and by a nonnegative operator function. We show that the operators inverse to such contractions are integral operators and prove a criterion for such operators to be holomorphic. Using the results obtained, we describe the generalized resolvents of symmetric quotients.  相似文献

We consider initial boundary value problems for a third-order nonlinear pseudoparabolic equation with one space dimension. The boundary condition is given by an integral; the function involved could exhibit singularities, which distinguishes this nonlocal condition from its Dirichlet or Neumann counterparts. By means of appropriate elliptic estimates we are able to seek solutions not only in the weighted spaces but also in the usual Sobolev spaces. The procedure is carried out in a unified way. Our results characterize a regularity of the pseudoparabolic operator that is different from that of the parabolic operator.  相似文献

We consider an infinite strip perforated along a curve by small holes. In this perforated domain, we consider a scalar second-order elliptic differential operator subject to classical boundary conditions on the holes. Assuming that the perforation is non-periodic, we describe possible homogenized problems and prove the norm-resolvent convergence of the perturbed operator to a homogenized one.
