We consider the general Hardy type operator where is a positive and measurable kernel. To characterize the weights u and v so that is still an open problem for any parameters p and q . However, for special cases the solution is known for some parameters p and q . In this paper the current status of this problem is described and discussed mainly for the case In particular, some new scales of characterizations in classical situations are described, some new proofs and results are given and open questions are raised.  相似文献

In the present paper we establish two new integral inequalities similar to Opial's inequality in two independent variables. The inequalities established in this paper are similar to the analogues of Calvert's generalizations of Opial's inequality, in two independent variables and contains in the special case the analogue of Opial's inequality given by G. S. Yang in two independent variables.  相似文献

Some new explicit bounds on solutions to a class of new nonlinear Volterra–Fredholm-type discrete inequalities are established, which can be used as effective tools in the study of certain sum–difference equations. Application examples are also indicated.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove some new dynamic inequalities on time scales using Hölder's inequality and Keller's chain rule on time scales. These inequalities, as special cases when the time scale and when , contain some generalizations of integral and discrete inequalities due to Hardy, Copson, Leindler and Bennett.  相似文献

Abstract

Mathematical inequalities and other results involving such widely- and extensively-studied special functions of mathematical physics and applied mathematics as (for example) the Bessel, Struve and Lommel functions as well as the associated hypergeometric functions are potentially useful in many seemingly diverse areas of applications, especially in situations in which these functions are involved in solutions of mathematical, physical and engineering problems which can be modeled by ordinary and partial di?erential equations. With this objective in view, our present investigation is motivated by some open problems involving inequalities for a number of particular forms of the hypergeometric function 1F2(a; b, c; z). Here, in this paper, we apply a novel approach to such problems and obtain presumably new two-sided inequalities for the Struve function, the associated Struve function and the modified Struve function by first investigating inequalities for the general hypergeometric function 1F2(a; b, c; z). We also briefly discuss the analogous new inequalities for the Lommel function under some conditions and constraints. Finally, as special cases of our main results, we deduce several inequalities for the modified Lommel function and the normalized Lommel function.  相似文献

We prove that the weighted Stieltjes inequality can be characterized by four different scales of conditions also for the case , . In particular, a new proof of a result of G. Sinnamon  10 is given, which also covers the case . Moreover, for the situation at hand a new gluing theorem and also an equivalence theorem of independent interest are proved and discussed. By applying our new equivalence theorem to weighted inequalities for the Stieltjes transform we obtain the four new scales of conditions for characterization of Stieltjes inequality.  相似文献

We study one‐ and multi‐dimensional weighted Hardy operators on functions with Hölder‐type behavior. As a main result, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions on the power weight under which both the left and right hand sided Hardy operators map, roughly speaking, functions with the Hölder behavior only at the singular point to functions differentiable for and bounded after multiplication by a power weight. As a consequence, this implies necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness in Hölder spaces due to the corresponding imbeddings. In the multi‐dimensional case we provide, in fact, stronger Hardy inequalities via spherical means. We also separately consider the case of functions with Hölder‐type behavior at infinity (Hölder spaces on the compactified ).  相似文献

Fu and Lu et al. 7 showed that the commutator $mathcal {H}_{beta ,b}$ generated by the fractional Hardy operator and a locally integrable function b is bounded on the homogenous Herz spaces if and only if b is a central bounded mean oscillation function. We show that their result is optimal by giving a counterexample.  相似文献

Summary Leta (0, 1/2] be fixed. A functionf satisfying the inequalityf(ax + (1 – a)y) + f((1 – a)x + ay) f(x) + f(y), called herea-Wright convexity, appears in connection with the converse of Minkowski's inequality. We prove that every lower semicontinuousa-Wright convex function is Jensen convex and we pose an open problem. Moreover, using the fact that 1/2-Wright convexity coincides with Jensen convexity, we prove a converse of Minkowski's inequality without any regularity conditions.  相似文献

Consider the Bessel operator with a potential on , namely We assume that and is a nonnegative function. By definition, a function belongs to the Hardy space if Under certain assumptions on V we characterize the space in terms of atomic decompositions of local type. In the second part we prove that this characterization can be applied to for with no additional assumptions on the potential V.  相似文献

In this paper, we provide various connections between a bounded linear operator T and some of its transforms, namely the Aluthge transform , Duggal transform , and mean transform . In particular, we show that under the condition that where is the polar decomposition, if one of T, , and is subscalar of finite order, then is also subscalar of finite order. As an application, we find subscalar operator matrices. We also give several spectral relations. Finally, we provide an equivalent condition under which a weighted shift has a hyponormal iterated mean transform.  相似文献

The main topic of the paper is best constants in Markov-type inequalities between the norms of higher derivatives of polynomials and the norms of the polynomials themselves. The norm is the L2 norm with Laguerre weight. The leading term of the asymptotics of the constants is determined and tight bounds for the principal coefficient in this term, which is the operator norm of a Volterra operator, are given. For best constants in inequalities of the Wirtinger type, the limit is computed and an asymptotic formula for the error term is presented.  相似文献

If L is a continuous symmetric n‐linear form on a real or complex Hilbert space and $\widehat{L}$ is the associated continuous n‐homogeneous polynomial, then $\Vert L\Vert =\big \Vert \widehat{L}\big \Vert$. We give a simple proof of this well‐known result, which works for both real and complex Hilbert spaces, by using a classical inequality due to S. Bernstein for trigonometric polynomials. As an application, an open problem for the optimal lower bound of the norm of a homogeneous polynomial, which is a product of linear forms, is related to the so‐called permanent function of an n × n positive definite Hermitian matrix. We have also derived generalizations of Hardy‐Hilbert's inequality.  相似文献

In this note, we will confirm the existence of a new type of singular point of an admissible meromorphic function in the unit disk. This work is a counterpart of the result of a meromorphic function with order in the complex plane studied by W. C. Lin and S. Mori.  相似文献

The object of the paper is to extend part of the theory of *-orderings on a skewfield with involution to a general ring with involution. The valuation associated to a *-ordering is examined. Every *-ordering is shown to extend. *-orderings are shown to form a space of signs as defined by Brocker and Marshall. In case the involution is the identity, the ring under consideration is commutative and the *-orderings are just the usual orderings making up the usual real spectrum of a commutative ring as defined by Coste and Roy.  相似文献

It has been proven elsewhere that every variety has associated with it a unique canonical theory, where idempotent morphisms split. This article exhibits models of the canonical theory associated with any primal variety, for example, Boolean algebras. One such variety of models is generated by the several-sorted algebra with carriers of all prime cardinalities and with a clone of all finitary operations ω on and between carriers. This primal algebra was unknown. There are more. Presented by R. McKenzie. Received December 20, 2005; accepted in final form May 2, 2006.  相似文献

The purpose of this article is to generalize the theory of stability of functional equations to the case of n‐Banach spaces. In this article, we prove the generalized Hyers–Ulam stabilities of the Cauchy functional equations, Jensen functional equations and quadratic functional equations on n‐Banach spaces.  相似文献

In 1961, Birman proved a sequence of inequalities {In}, for nN, valid for functions in C0n((0,))?L2((0,)). In particular, I1 is the classical (integral) Hardy inequality and I2 is the well-known Rellich inequality. In this paper, we give a proof of this sequence of inequalities valid on a certain Hilbert space Hn([0,)) of functions defined on [0,). Moreover, fHn([0,)) implies fHn?1([0,)); as a consequence of this inclusion, we see that the classical Hardy inequality implies each of the inequalities in Birman's sequence. We also show that for any finite b>0, these inequalities hold on the standard Sobolev space H0n((0,b)). Furthermore, in all cases, the Birman constants [(2n?1)!!]2/22n in these inequalities are sharp and the only function that gives equality in any of these inequalities is the trivial function in L2((0,)) (resp., L2((0,b))). We also show that these Birman constants are related to the norm of a generalized continuous Cesàro averaging operator whose spectral properties we determine in detail.  相似文献
