Reducibility of Joins Involving Some Locally Trivial Pseudovarieties

Abstract

In this paper, we show that σ-reducibility is preserved under joins with K, where K is the pseudovariety of semigroups in which idempotents are left zeros. Reducibility of joins with D, the pseudovariety of semigroups in which idempotents are right zeros, is also considered. In this case, we were able to prove that σ- reducibility is preserved for joins with pseudovarieties verifying a certain property of cancellation. As an example involving the semidirect product, we prove that Sl*K is κ-tame, where Sl stands for the pseudovariety of semilattices.     

One-Element Extensions in the Variety Generated by Tournaments

We investigate congruences in one-element extensions of algebras in the variety generated by tournaments.

The Variety of Near-Rings is Generated by Its Finite Members

We show that the variety of near-rings and the variety of zero-symmetric near-rings are both generated by their finite members. We show this in a more general context: if a variety is generated by a class of algebras , then the variety of -composition algebras is generated by the class of all full function algebras on direct products of finitely many copies of algebras in .

Let V be the variety generated by two-element distributive lattice B2 and k prime fields Fp1,...,Fpk. That is to say that V = HSP{B2, Fp1,...,Fpk}. It is proved that the variety V is finitely based. Also, the two-element distributive lattice B2 and prime fields Fp1,..., Fpk are, up to isomorphism, the only subdirectly irreducible semirings in V. Some known results are extended and enriched.     

Two Notes on the Variety Generated by Planar Modular Lattices

Let Var(M _plan) denote the variety generated by the class M _plan of planar modular lattices. In 1977, based on his structural investigations, R. Freese proved that Var(M _plan) has continuumly many subvarieties. The present paper provides a new approach to this result utilizing lattice identities. We also show that each subvariety of Var(M _plan) is generated by its planar (subdirectly irreducible) members. Dedicated to the memory of András P. 设S为有限局部单位元半群,R为S—分次环.首先定义了S—分次环R在半群S上的冲积R#S*,证明了模范畴R#S*-M od与分次模范畴(S,R)-g r之间的等价性,并进一步研究了局部单位元半群分次环的分次Jacobson根及其相关的自反根的关系,得到重要关系式J(R#S*)=JS(R)#S*及Jref(R)=(J(R#S*))↓=JS(R).     

量子群U_q(f(K))的局部有限子代数的稳定理想

利用量子群U=U_q(f(K))的表示理论及其局部有限子代数F(U)的子模结构,证明了U_q(f(K))的局部有限子代数F(U)的任一非零理想均可由若干个具有不同权的最高权向量的和生成.     

Groups which Are Factorized by Subgroups of Finite Exponents

Locally Finite Barely Transitive Groups

Infinite transitive permutation groups all proper subgroups of which have just finite orbits are treated. Under the extra condition of being locally finite, such groups are proved to be primary, and, moreover, soluble if the stabilizer of some point is soluble.     

Identities of Semigroups of Triangular Matrices over Finite Fields

It is proved that the semigroup of all triangular n × n matrices over a finite field K is inherently nonfinitely based if and only if n > 3 and |K|> 2.     

Collection of Finite Lattices Generated by a Poset

It is proved that the collection of all finite lattices with the same partially ordered set of meet-irreducible elements can be ordered in a natural way so that the obtained poset is a lattice. Necessary and sufficient conditions under which this lattice is Boolean, distributive and modular are given.     

On the Partially Ordered Semigroup Generated by the Class Operators I,R,H,S,P

Let I, H, S, P be the usual class operators on universal algebras. For a class K of universal algebras of the same type, let R({K}) be the class of all algebras isomorphic to a retract of a member of K and let R denote the corresponding class operator. In this paper the semigroup generated by class operators I, R, H, S, P and the corresponding partially ordered set are described. Also the standard semigroups of the above operators are determined for some varieties.

The Projective Cover of the Trivial Module Over a Group Algebra of a Finite Group

We determine all finite groups G such that the Loewy length (socle length) of the projective cover P(k _G ) of the trivial kG-module k _G is four, where k is a field of characteristic p > 0 and kG is the group algebra of G over k, by using previous results and also the classification of finite simple groups. As a by-product we prove also that if p = 2 then all finite groups G such that the Loewy lengths of the principal block algebras of kG are four, are determined.
