Swirling jets undergoing vortex breakdown occur in many technical applications, e.g. vortex burners, turbines and jet engines. To simulate the highly nonlinear dynamics of the flow, it is necessary to use high-order numerical methods, leading to increased computational cost. To be able to perform simulations in acceptable turn-around time, an available LES code for solving the filtered compressible Navier-Stokes equations in cylindrical coordinates using compact finite-difference schemes was parallelized for massively-parallel architectures. The parallelization was done following the ghost-cell approach for filtering in the three spatial directions. The inter-process communication is handled using the message passing interface (MPI). The weak and strong scaling properties of the code indicate that it can be used for massively parallel simulations using several thousand processors. (© 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. A large eddy simulation of a compressible boundary layer is performed. To generate an appropriate inflow distribution the rescaling technique for compressible flows is discribed. In this method Morkovin's hypothesis in which the total temperature fluctuations are neglected compared with the static temperature fluctuations is applied to rescale and generate the temperature profile at inlet. This new technique is used for various large eddy simulations of subsonic and supersonic three‐dimensional boundary layers of a flat plate. Simulation results for the time‐averaged mean flow and Reynolds stresses are compared with numerical and analytical data to demonstrate the high quality of the method.  相似文献

In this article we intend to find the optimal shape of a nozzle respecting to some given target flow fields including viscosity effect. Via an approach based on measure theory which is not an iterative method and need not to any initial guess, each shape optimization problems are solved and consequently each geometry of the nozzle corresponding to prescribed flow fields is determined. Analyzing several case studies make us to confident on the use of the presented approach, because the obtained results give entirely the same as what we expect physically.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behavior, with respect to high Peclet numbers, of a model describing a compressible and miscible displacement in a porous medium. The transport of mass is then described by a nonlinear, fully coupled and degenerate parabolic system. Using non-classical estimates and renormalization tools, we prove existence of relevant weak solutions for the limit problem.   相似文献

A numerical simulation setup is presented which allows to study a circular jet flow configuration in which the nozzle is included in the simulation domain. Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS) are performed using up to 10th order compact finite-difference schemes which are stabilized by applying a mild low-pass filter. A parallelization approach has been implemented which shows good weak and strong scaling behavior. At the inflow the Synthetic Eddy Method is employed to generate turbulent fluctuations in the nozzle boundary layer with prescribed statistics, which are imposed by a sponge (forcing) layer technique. Simulation results for the jet flow field obtained at Reynolds number ReD = 19000 and a Mach number Ma = 0.9 as well as for the acoustic near-field are found to be in good agreement with recent nozzle-jet simulation results as well as experimental findings. 间断Galerkin有限元方法非常适合在非结构网格上高精度求解Navier-Stokes方程,然而其十分耗费计算资源.为了提高计算效率,提出了高效的MIMD并行算法.采用隐式时间离散GMRES+LU SGS格式,结合多重网格方法,当地时间步长加速算法收敛.为了保证各处理器间负载平衡,采用区域分解二级图方法划分网格,实现内存合理分配,数据只在相邻处理器间传递.数值模拟了RAE2822翼型和M6黏性绕流,加速比基本呈线性变化且接近理想值.结果表明了该算法能有效减少计算时间、合理分配内存,具有较高的加速比和并行效率,适合于MIMD粗粒度科学计算.  相似文献

This paper describes a discrete event simulation model for a solid-waste processing system which is to be installed in Zagreb, Croatia. The conceptual model was developed by activity cycle diagrams, and the computer model was developed using the program generation software package VS6. Current trends in simulation software development are towards the automation of the modelling process. Some systems provide a method of specifying the problem so that a computer program can be automatically generated. Other systems provide a generic framework for a particular class of modelling problem that can be input as data to the system. Examples of the latter are flexible manufacturing systems simulations. Most current developments are colour-graphics-aided in one form or another. Computer advances in hardware and software are emerging through better user interfaces, more power and lower costs. The major benefit is an increasing customer involvement in the modelling process. An overview of these developments and future directions are given in this paper.  相似文献

The development of an interactive simulation program generator which is available on micro and mainframe computers is outlined. The generator forms part of a simulation environment being researched into and constructed by a group of researchers at the London School of Economics. The generated programs are written in Pascal, using a suite of routines which assume a three-phase structure for simulation programs. Experiences of modelling using such a simulation modelling environment are outlined, as well as details of related research and future research plans.  相似文献

The rheological behaviour of protein solutions containing bubbles at rest, but particularly during fluid mechanical transport is not sufficiently investigated yet. Protein foams have a great importance in food production because of their special sensory properties. A suspension that contains bubbles in a Newtonian liquid exhibits inherently a complex rheological behaviour, such as elastic effects, a shear- and time-dependent viscosity and normal stress differences. The deformation state of the bubbles in a suspension subjected to a steady shear is a function of the gas volume fraction ϕ and the capillary number NCa. In the present article, material equations for protein solutions with gas volume fractions ϕ ≤ 0.75 and small bubble deformations, i. e. NCa ≪ 1, are analysed and further developed.
