For a weakly nonlinear oscillator, the frequency domain Volterra kernels, often called the generalized frequency response functions, can provide accurate analysis of the response in terms of amplitudes and frequencies, in a transparent algebraic way. However, a Volterra series representation based analysis will become void for nonlinear oscillators that exhibit subharmonics, and the problem of finding a solution in this situation has mainly been treated by traditional analytical approximation methods. In this paper, a novel method is developed, by introducing a frequency domain subharmonic kernel representation for subharmonic systems subject to a single tone excitation frequency, to allow the advantages and the benefits associated with the traditional frequency domain representations to be applied to severely nonlinear systems that exhibit subharmonic behavior.  相似文献

The non-linear response of a magneto-elastic translating beam having prismatic joint for higher resonance conditions is studied. A periodically varying transverse magnetic field is applied to the system. Two frequencies of prismatic motion and oscillating transverse magnetic field are implemented to the system. The method of multiple scales as one of the perturbation techniques is used to derive two first order ordinary differential equations that govern the time variation of the amplitude and phase of the response. Then a stability analysis is conducted for subharmonic resonance and simultaneous resonance conditions. A parametric study is performed to investigate the effect of magnetic field strength, amplitude of prismatic motion, damping and payload mass on the frequency response curves for both the resonance conditions. The catastrophic failure of the system may occur due to the presence of saddle-node and pitchfork bifurcations. The results obtained by method of multiple scales are compared with those obtained by numerically integrating the reduced equations and are found to be in good agreement. The developed results can be applied to control the vibration of a beam with prismatic joint subjected to magnetic field for third order subharmonic resonance and simultaneous resonance conditions.  相似文献

Using the method of multiple scales, an extensive frequency response and subharmonic resonance analysis of the equations of motion governing the nonlinear flexural vibrations of piezoelectrically actuated microcantilevers is performed. Such comprehensive understanding of the nonlinear response and subharmonics analysis of these microcantilevers is, indeed, justified by the applications of piezoelectrically actuated microcantilevers that are increasingly becoming popular in many science and engineering areas including scanning force microscopy, biosensors, and microactuators. Along this line, the method of multiple scales is used to derive the 2× and 3× subharmonic resonances appearing in nonlinear flexural vibrations of a piezoelectrically actuated microcantilever. An experimental examination is performed in order to verify the analytical results. The analytical and experimental results yield the same system response for the fundamental frequency. In addition, the experimental results demonstrate the presence of subharmonic resonances that are supported by numerical simulations of the equations of motion. The experimental mode shapes of these subharmonic frequencies are also measured and compared with fundamental frequency.  相似文献

The subharmonic topology of a nonlinear, asymmetric bubble oscillator (Keller–Miksis equation) in glycerine is investigated in the parameter space of its external excitation (frequency and pressure amplitude). The bi-parametric investigation revealed that the exoskeleton of the topology can be described as the composition of U-shaped subharmonics of periodic orbits. The fine substructure (higher-order ultra-subharmonic resonances) usually appearing via the well-known period n-tupling phenomenon is completely missing due to the high dissipation rate of the viscous liquid. Moreover, a complex internal structure of the subharmonics has been found, which are composed by interconnected bifurcation blocks (in a zig-zag pattern) each describing the skeleton of a shrimp-shaped domain. The employed numerical techniques are the combination of an in-house initial value problem solver written in C++/CUDA C to harness the high processing power of professional graphics cards, and the boundary value problem solver AUTO to compute periodic orbits directly regardless of their stability.  相似文献

利用增量平均法研究了复合干摩擦阻尼器的准零刚度非线性隔振系统在外部简谐激励作用下的1/3次亚谐共振. 首先利用平均法得到了复合干摩擦的准零刚度隔振系统的主共振近似解析解, 然后在系统主共振近似解析解的基础上将系统的亚谐共振响应看作增量, 并利用平均法得到了准零刚度隔振系统的亚谐共振近似解析解. 利用李雅普诺夫方法得到了准零刚度隔振系统主共振和亚谐共振稳态解的稳定性条件, 并推导了系统1/3次亚谐共振的存在条件. 根据近似解析解分别得到了复合干摩擦的准零刚度隔振系统的主共振和亚谐共振力传递率. 利用数值解验证了准零刚度隔振系统主共振和亚谐共振近似解析解的准确性. 利用系统的近似解析解详细分析了准零刚度参数和干摩擦力对系统主共振和亚谐共振的幅频响应以及力传递特性的影响. 分析结果表明, 通过选取合适的干摩擦力参数, 可以消除准零刚度隔振系统在主共振区域的亚谐共振. 通过复合干摩擦阻尼器不但可以提高准零刚度隔振系统在低频区域的振幅抑制效果, 而且可以降低准零刚度隔振系统的起始隔振频率, 但是会增大系统在有效隔振频带内的力传递率.   相似文献

In this paper, we describe the possible use of hermal contact resistance measured under ambient conditions as a non-destructive feature to monitor L-shape bolted joints. We demonstrate that thermal contact resistance can be correlated to the contact pressure of L-shape bolted joints and thus can be used to infer joint tightness. Five different torque levels of bolt tightness in an L-shape bolted joint were measured for contact pressure and thermal contact resistance using Fuji Prescale® pressure-sensitive film and a test setup in ambient conditions. Using probabilistic analysis, probability density functions (PDFs) and intervals developed from the PDFs, the contact pressure and thermal contact resistance were developed and correlated. By examining the intervals of the contact pressure and thermal contact resistance at each torque level, it was concluded that thermal contact resistance measured under ambient conditions can be used to describe bolted joint tightness.  相似文献

This study shows the development of the strength-design system for general bolted joints. Specifically, a simplified method of the strength design for the connectingrod bolts is proposed. The connecting-rod joint is transformed into a single-bolted-joint model by using the ring model. The axial stress on the bolt and separation behavior at the contact plane are discussed. The strength design of the connecting-rod joint can be performed by applying the unified procedure to the single-bolted-joint model. The local deformation of the connecting-rod joint and the stress on the bolt were measured and the analytical results are compared with the experimental results. Nonstationary excitations of slender, elastic, cantilevered beams with equal principal moments of inertia are considered. The excitation frequency is slowly increased or decreased through a resonance of the first mode at a constant rate. Three resonances are investigated: primary resonance, superharmonic resonance of order two and subharmonic resonance of order two. After application of Galerkin's method with three modes, the nonlinear, nonstationary response of the first mode of the beam is determined by two methods: integration of the modulation equations obtained from the method of multiple scales, and direct numerical integration of the temporal equations of motion. Time histories are presented and the effects of excitation amplitude, rate of acceleration or deceleration through resonance, damping and initial conditions of the disturbance on the maximum response are studied. The effect of a persistent random disturbance is also examined. Although the excitation acts in the vertical plane, whirling occurs if the beam is subjected to out-of-plane disturbances.  相似文献

The potential of harvesting vibratory energy via a bistable beam subjected to subharmonic parametric excitations is investigated. The vibrating structure is a buckled beam with two stable equilibria separated by a potential barrier. The beam is subjected to a superposition of a static axial load beyond its buckling load and a harmonic axial excitation whose frequency is around twice the frequency of the buckled beam’s first vibration mode. A macro-fiber composite patch is attached to one side of the beam to convert the strain energy resulting from the beam’s oscillation into electricity. The study considers two regimes of excitations: an amplitude sweep and a frequency sweep. In the first regime, the amplitude of excitation is quasi-statically varied while the excitation frequency is tuned at twice the natural frequency of the first vibration mode. In the second regime, the excitation frequency is swept forward and backward around the subharmonic resonant frequency while the amplitude of excitation is kept constant. A theoretical model which governs the electromechanical coupling of the transverse vibrations of the beam and the output voltage is used to monitor the response as the excitation parameters are changed. An experimental setup is also built and a series of tests is performed to validate the theoretical findings. It is shown that, depending on the amplitude and frequency of excitation, the harvester can perform small-amplitude periodic intra-well motion, intra- and inter-well chaotic motions, as well as periodic inter-well motions. Experimental results also show that, as compared to the classical linear resonance, utilizing the sub-harmonic resonance of a bistable energy harvesters can result in a broadband frequency response.  相似文献

The transition to turbulence in a boundary layer can be induced by perturbations of low intensity and is accompanied by a growth in their energy, the development of three-dimensional structures, and a change in the spectral composition of the field. A number of important properties of the process admit interpretation in the framework of nonlinear stability theory and can be due to a resonance interaction. Experiments [1, 2] have revealed a transition accompanied by an appreciable enhancement of pulsations whose period is twice that of the driving vibrating tape. Theoretical investigations [3–9] have revealed the existence of a resonance mechanism capable of strong excitation of three-dimensional Tollmien-Schlichting waves at the frequency of a subharmonic. It has been suggested [4] that the observed transition regime is the result of evolution of triplets of resonantly coupled oscillations forming symmetric triplets [10]. In contrast to the type of transition considered by Craik et al. [10, 11], the leading role is played by subharmonics distinguished parametrically in the background. Experimental confirmations have been obtained [12, 13] of the coupling of the resonances in symmetric triplets with the subharmonic regime. Further investigation of the resonance mechanism is an important topical problem. This paper presents a study on the formation and special characteristics of the initial stage in the nonlinear development of triplets; the collective interaction of a two-dimensional Tollmien-Schlichting wave with a packet of three-dimensional waves is examined; the behavior of the system is analyzed, taking into account the resonance coupling with the harmonic of the main wave. The nonlinear coupled vibrations of an elastic structure and liquidsloshing in a rectangular tank partially filled with liquid, are investigated.The structure on which the liquid tank is attached is vertically subjected to a sinusoidal excitation when the natural frequency of the structure is equal to twicethe natural frequency of one of the sloshing modes. In the theoretical analysis, the modal equations are derivedby taking nonlinear fluid force into account. Responses of the structure and the liquid surface are presented asresonance curves using the harmonic balance method. From this theoreticalanalysis the following predictions are obtained: (a) due to the nonlinearity of the fluid force, harmonic oscillations appear in the structure, while subharmonic oscillations occur on the liquid surface; (b) the shapes of the resonance curves markedly change depending on the liquid level; and (c) when the tuning condition is slightly deviated, amplitudemodulated motions and chaotic oscillations appear during a certain range of the excitation frequency. 在设计、试制螺栓加载装置的基础上,对螺栓联接结构进行了轴向振动的疲劳试验,获取了螺栓夹紧力的时变曲线,并对试验后的螺栓接触表面进行损伤分析,研究螺栓联接结构的松动机理.结果表明:在轴向振动条件下,螺栓联接结构的夹紧力下降较为明显,但拧出力矩相对于预紧力矩变化不大.螺栓的松动过程可分为以下两个阶段:试验初期由于螺栓接触面的塑性变形,夹紧力迅速下降;然后由于接触面之间的微动磨损,夹紧力缓慢下降.螺纹接触面之间的损伤机制主要为黏着磨损、磨粒磨损和剥层.  相似文献

在螺栓连接结构中,为保证连接的可靠性,必须为螺栓提供合适的预紧力。工程中通常采用扭矩法装配螺栓连接结构,因此需要确定预紧力与扭矩之间的关系(即扭矩系数),以施加合适的装配扭矩。本文对输电塔中常用的M16镀锌螺栓进行预紧力试验研究,测试分析了螺栓强度等级、有无垫圈和有无润滑对螺栓连接副扭矩系数的影响。研究结果表明,高强度螺栓比普通螺栓的扭矩系数小,数据离散性也小;无垫圈的螺栓比有垫圈的螺栓扭矩系数小,但数据离散性大;有润滑的螺栓比无润滑的螺栓扭矩系数小,数据离散性也小。本文同时探讨了如何控制、调整扭矩系数,以及螺栓连接中要注意的问题,为设计和施工单位提供参考。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This paper presents an analytical method to examine the dynamical behavior of periodically perturbed linear conservative gyroscopic systems. Explicit stability conditions for perturbations of small intensity are obtained using the method of averaging. The existence of combination resonance in addition to subharmonic parametric resonance is established. For large periodic excitation, a numerical method based on the Floquet theory is used to extend the stability boundaries. These results are applied to the problem of flow-induced vibration in a supported cylindrical pipe conveying fluid with pulsating velocity. The effects of the mean flow velocity, dissipative forces, boundary conditions, and virtual mass on the extent of the parametric instability regions are then discussed.  相似文献

为了研究锚固体力-热耦合机制,分别对不同类型的锚固体加载变形破坏过程进行试验研究。应用红外热像技术,获得红外温度场,同时对锚固体进行应力场数值分析。结果显示:中心位置布置单根锚杆的锚固体;应力峰值前,随着荷载的增加,红外温度场呈现整体均匀性升温变化;应力峰值后,在锚杆周围形成一个由多条不同等温线组成的区域,其形状是以锚杆为中心的近似圆形区域,由内向外,温度逐步降低;有锚杆一侧围岩红外温度高于无锚杆一侧,锚杆周围形成一个近似"喇叭"状的等温线图,高温等温线对应高应力区,低温等温线对应低应力区,红外温度场与应力场之间存在空间分布对应关系。  相似文献

The subharmonic resonance and bifurcations of a clamped-clamped buckled beam under base harmonic excitations are investigated. The nonlinear partial integrodifferential equation of the motion of the buckled beam with both quadratic and cubic nonlinearities is given by using Hamilton's principle. A set of second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations are obtained by spatial discretization with the Galerkin method. A high-dimensional model of the buckled beam is derived, concerning nonlinear coupling. The incremental harmonic balance (IHB) method is used to achieve the periodic solutions of the high-dimensional model of the buckled beam to observe the nonlinear frequency response curve and the nonlinear amplitude response curve, and the Floquet theory is used to analyze the stability of the periodic solutions. Attention is focused on the subharmonic resonance caused by the internal resonance as the excitation frequency near twice of the first natural frequency of the buckled beam with/without the antisymmetric modes being excited. Bifurcations including the saddle-node, Hopf, perioddoubling, and symmetry-breaking bifurcations are observed. Furthermore, quasi-periodic motion is observed by using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method, which results from the Hopf bifurcation of the response of the buckled beam with the anti-symmetric modes being excited.  相似文献
