Average distribution of prime ideals in families of number fields

We view an algebraic curve over ℚ as providing a one-parameter family of number fields and obtain bounds for the average value of some standard prime ideal counting functions over these families which are better than averaging the standard estimates for these functions.      

Theoretical frame properties of wave-packet matrices over prime fields

Finite wave-packet groups, which generate structured wave-packet matrices, are given by finite groups of dilations, translations and modulations on an underlying finite field. For prime fields, we develop a representation theory approach to the matrix analysis of large class of systems including wave-packet matrices. We then study basic analytic aspects of wave-packet matrices over prime fields.     

Totally ordered sets and the prime spectra of rings

Let T be a totally ordered set and let D(T) denotes the set of all cuts of T. We prove the existence of a discrete valuation domain O_v such that T is order isomorphic to two special subsets of Spec(O_v). We prove that if A is a ring (not necessarily commutative), whose prime spectrum is totally ordered and satisfies (K2), then there exists a totally ordered set U?Spec(A) such that the prime spectrum of A is order isomorphic to D(U). We also present equivalent conditions for a totally ordered set to be a Dedekind totally ordered set. At the end, we present an algebraic geometry point of view.     

Asymptotic behaviour of certain sets of prime ideals

Let be ideals of the commutative ring , let be a Noetherian -module and let be a submodule of ; also let be an Artinian -module and let be a submodule of . It is shown that, whenever is a sequence of -tuples of non-negative integers which is non-decreasing in the sense that for all and all , then Ass is independent of for all large , and also Att is independent of for all large . These results are proved without any regularity conditions on the ideals , and so (a special case of) the first answers in the affirmative a question raised by S. McAdam.

     

On the structure of certain valued fields

In this article, we study the structure of finitely ramified mixed characteristic valued fields. For any two complete discrete valued fields $K_1$ and $K_2$ of mixed characteristic with perfect residue fields, we show that if the n-th residue rings are isomorphic for each $n\ge 1$, then $K_1$ and $K_2$ are isometric and isomorphic. More generally, for $n_1\ge 1$, there is $n_2$ depending only on the ramification indices of $K_1$ and $K_2$ such that any homomorphism from the $n_1$-th residue ring of $K_1$ to the $n_2$-th residue ring of $K_2$ can be lifted to a homomorphism between the valuation rings. Moreover, we get a functor from the category of certain principal Artinian local rings of length n to the category of certain complete discrete valuation rings of mixed characteristic with perfect residue fields, which naturally generalizes the functorial property of unramified complete discrete valuation rings. Our lifting result improves Basarab's relative completeness theorem for finitely ramified henselian valued fields, which solves a question posed by Basarab, in the case of perfect residue fields.

On sufficient second order optimality conditions in multiobjective optimization

A second order sufficient optimality criterion is presented for a multiobjective problem subject to a constraint given just as a set. To this aim, we first refine known necessary conditions in such a way that the sufficient ones differ by the replacement of inequalities by strict inequalities. Furthermore, we show that no relationship holds between this criterion and a sufficient multipliers rule, when the constraint is described by inequalities and equalities. Finally, improvements of this criterion for the unconstrained case are presented, stressing the differences with single-objective optimization

On a class of prime entire functions

In this note it is proved that entire functions of the form Fa（z）=H（z）-aα（z）
where H andα are entire functions, with α having at least one zero, H＇ and α＇having no common zeros and T（r, α） = S（r, H）, are prime in entire sense for most values of a. The class of these functions is seen to contain examples of both periodic and non-periodic prime entire functions found by Noda, Qiao, Urabe and by Singh and Charak. Another result due to Singh and Charak will be improved as well.
