The phosphorescence emission of perylene bisimide derivatives has been rarely reported. Two novel ruthenium(II) and iridium(III) complexes of an azabenz‐annulated perylene bisimide (ab‐PBI), [Ru(bpy)2(ab‐PBI)][PF6]2 1 and [Cp*Ir(ab‐PBI)Cl]PF6 2 are now presented that both show NIR phosphorescence between 750–1000 nm in solution at room temperature. For an NIR emitter, the ruthenium complex 1 displays an unusually high quantum yield (Φp) of 11 % with a lifetime (τp) of 4.2 μs, while iridium complex 2 exhibits Φp<1 % and τp=33 μs. 1 and 2 are the first PBI‐metal complexes in which the spin–orbit coupling is strong enough to facilitate not only the Sn→Tn intersystem crossing of the PBI dye, but also the radiative T1→S0 transition, that is, phosphorescence.  相似文献

The present review summarizes the work carried out mostly in the last decade on iridium and ruthenium complexes bearing various perylene ligands, of particular interest for bioimaging, photodynamic therapy, and solar energy conversion. In these complexes, the absorption spectra and the electrochemical properties are those of the perylene subunit plus those of the metal moiety. In contrast, the emissions are completely changed with respect to perylenes considered alone. Thus, fully organic perylenes are characterized by a strong fluorescence in the visible region, lifetimes of a few nanoseconds, and luminescence quantum yields approaching 100%, whereas perylene Ir and Ru complexes usually do not emit; however, in few cases, weak phosphorescent emissions, with lifetimes in the range of microseconds and relatively low quantum yields, are reported. This is due to a strong interaction between the perylene core and the heavy metal center, taking place after the excitation. Nevertheless, an important advantage deriving from the presence of the heavy metal center is represented by the ability to generate large amounts of singlet oxygen, which plays a key role in photodynamic therapy.  相似文献

The anodic electropolymerization of thiophene‐functionalized cyclometalated ruthenium(II) complexes is shown for the first time. Oxidative decomposition reactions can be overcome by modification of the involved redox potentials through the introduction of electron‐withdrawing substituents, namely nitro groups, at the cyclometalating phenyl ring. The generated functionalized ruthenium(II) complexes allow the electrochemical preparation of thin polymer films, which show a broad UV/Vis absorption as well as reversible redox switchability. The presented complexes are promising candidates for future photovoltaic applications based on photo‐redox‐active films.  相似文献

While ruthenium(II) arene complexes have been widely investigated for their potential in catalytic transfer hydrogenation, studies on homologous compounds replacing the arene ligand with the six-electron donor tris(1-pyrazolyl)methane (tpm) are almost absent in the literature. The reactions of [RuCl(κ3-tpm)(PPh3)2]Cl, 1 , with a series of nitrogen ligands (L) proceeded with selective PPh3 mono-substitution, affording the novel complexes [RuCl(κ3-tpm)(PPh3)(L)]Cl (L=NCMe, 2 ; NCPh, 3 ; imidazole, 4 ) in almost quantitative yields. Products 2 – 4 were fully characterized by IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, moreover the molecular structure of 4 was ascertained by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds 2 – 4 were evaluated as catalytic precursors in the transfer hydrogenation of a series of ketones with isopropanol as the hydrogen source, and 2 exhibited the highest activity. Extensive NMR experiments and DFT calculations allowed to elucidate the mechanism of the transfer hydrogenation process, suggesting the crucial role played by the tpm ligand, reversibly switching from tri- to bidentate coordination during the catalytic cycle.  相似文献

Inducing necroptosis in cancer cells is an effective approach to circumvent drug‐resistance. Metal‐based triggers have, however, rarely been reported. Ruthenium(II) complexes containing 1,1‐(pyrazin‐2‐yl)pyreno[4,5‐e][1,2,4]triazine were developed with a series of different ancillary ligands ( Ru1 ‐ 7 ). The combination of the main ligand with bipyridyl and phenylpyridyl ligands endows Ru7 with superior nucleus‐targeting properties. As a rare dual catalytic inhibitor, Ru7 effectively inhibits the endogenous activities of topoisomerase (topo) I and II and kills cancer cells by necroptosis. The cell signaling pathway from topo inhibition to necroptosis was elucidated. Furthermore, Ru7 displays significant antitumor activity against drug‐resistant cancer cells in vivo. To the best of our knowledge, Ru7 is the first Ru‐based necroptosis‐inducing chemotherapeutic agent.  相似文献

The templated synthesis of organic macrocycles containing rings of up to 96 atoms and three 2,2′‐bipyridine (bpy) units is described. Starting with the bpy‐centred ligands 5,5′‐bis[3‐(1,4‐dioxahept‐6‐enylphenyl)]‐2,2′‐bipyridine and 5,5′‐bis[3‐(1,4,7‐trioxadec‐9‐enylphenyl)]‐2,2′‐bipyridine, we have applied Grubbs’ methodology to couple the terminal alkene units of the coordinated ligands in [FeL3]2+ complexes. Hydrogenation and demetallation of the iron(II)‐containing macrocyclic complexes results in the isolation of large organic macrocycles. The latter bind {Ru(bpy)2} units to give macrocyclic complexes with exocyclic ruthenium(II)‐containing domains. The complex [Ru(bpy)2(L)]2+ (isolated as the hexafluorophosphate salt), in which L=5,5′‐bis[3‐(1,4,7,10‐tetraoxatridec‐12‐enylphenyl)]‐2,2′‐bipyridine, undergoes intramolecular ring‐closing metathesis to yield a macrocycle which retains the exocyclic {Ru(bpy)2} unit. The poly(ethyleneoxy) domains in the latter macrocycle readily scavenge sodium ions, as proven by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and atomic absorption spectroscopy data for the bulk sample. In addition to the new compounds, a series of model complexes have been fully characterized, and representative single‐crystal X‐ray structural data are presented for iron(II) and ruthenium(II) acyclic and macrocyclic species.  相似文献

The detection of carbon monoxide in solution and air has been achieved using simple, inexpensive systems based on the vinyl complexes [M(CH?CHR)Cl(CO)(BTD)(PPh3)2] (R=aryl, BTD=2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole). Depending on the nature of the vinyl group, chromogenic and fluorogenic responses signalled the presence of this odourless, tasteless, invisible, and toxic gas. Solutions of the complexes in CHCl3 underwent rapid change between easily differentiated colours when exposed to air samples containing CO. More significantly, the adsorption of the complexes on silica produced colorimetric probes for the naked‐eye detection of CO in the gas phase. Structural data for key species before and after the addition of CO were obtained by means of single X‐ray diffraction studies. In all cases, the ruthenium and osmium vinyl complexes studied showed a highly selective response to CO with exceptionally low detection limits. Naked‐eye detection of CO at concentrations as low as 5 ppb in air was achieved with the onset of toxic levels (i.e., 100 ppm), thus resulting in a remarkably clear colour change. Moreover, complexes bearing pyrenyl, naphthyl, and phenanthrenyl moieties were fluorescent, and greater sensitivities were achieved (through turn‐on emission fluorescence) in the presence of CO both in solution and air. This behaviour was explored computationally using time‐dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) experiments. In addition, the systems were shown to be selective for CO over all other gases tested, including water vapour and common organic solvents. Supporting the metal complexes on cellulose strips for use in an existing optoelectronic device allows numerical readings for the CO concentration to be obtained and provision of an alarm system.  相似文献

The reaction of [CpRuCl(PPh3)2] (Cp=cyclopentadienyl) and [CpRuCl(dppe)] (dppe=Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) with bis‐ and tris‐phosphine ligands 1,4‐(Ph2PC≡C)2C6H4 ( 1 ) and 1,3,5‐(Ph2PC≡C)3C6H3 ( 2 ), prepared by Ni‐catalysed cross‐coupling reactions between terminal alkynes and diphenylchlorophosphine, has been investigated. Using metal‐directed self‐assembly methodologies, two linear bimetallic complexes, [{CpRuCl(PPh3)}2(μ‐dppab)] ( 3 ) and [{CpRu(dppe)}2(μ‐dppab)](PF6)2 ( 4 ), and the mononuclear complex [CpRuCl(PPh3)(η1‐dppab)] ( 6 ), which contains a “dangling arm” ligand, were prepared (dppab=1,4‐bis[(diphenylphosphino)ethynyl]benzene). Moreover, by using the triphosphine 1,3,5‐tris[(diphenylphosphino)ethynyl]benzene (tppab), the trimetallic [{CpRuCl(PPh3)}33‐tppab)] ( 5 ) species was synthesised, which is the first example of a chiral‐at‐ruthenium complex containing three different stereogenic centres. Besides these open‐chain complexes, the neutral cyclic species [{CpRuCl(μ‐dppab)}2] ( 7 ) was also obtained under different experimental conditions. The coordination chemistry of such systems towards supramolecular assemblies was tested by reaction of the bimetallic precursor 3 with additional equivalents of ligand 2 . Two rigid macrocycles based on cis coordination of dppab to [CpRu(PPh3)] were obtained, that is, the dinuclear complex [{CpRu(PPh3)(μ‐dppab)}2](PF6)2 ( 8 ) and the tetranuclear square [{CpRu(PPh3)(μ‐dppab)}4](PF6)4 ( 9 ). The solid‐state structures of 7 and 8 have been determined by X‐ray diffraction analysis and show a different arrangement of the two parallel dppab ligands. All compounds were characterised by various methods including ESIMS, electrochemistry and by X‐band ESR spectroscopy in the case of the electrogenerated paramagnetic species.  相似文献

This paper reports on the synthesis and characterization of two new polypyridyl-hydrazone Schiff bases, (E)-N′-(6-oxo-1,10-phenanthrolin-5(6H)-ylidene)thiophene-2-carbohydrazide (L1) and (E)-N′-(6-oxo-1,10-phenanthrolin-5(6H)-ylidene)furan-2-carbohydrazide (L2), and their two Ru(II) complexes of the general formula [RuCl(DMSO)(phen)(Ln)](PF6). Considering that hydrazides are a structural part of severa l drugs and metal complexes containing phenanthroline derivatives are known to interact with DNA and to exhibit antitumor activity, more potent anticancer agents can be obtained by covalently linking the thiophene acid hydrazide or the furoic acid hydrazide to a 1,10-phenanthroline moiety. These ligands and the Ru(II) complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, electronic, vibrational, 1H NMR, and ESI-MS spectroscopies. Ru is bound to two different N-heterocyclic ligands. One chloride and one S-bonded DMSO in cis-configuration to each other complete the octahedral coordination sphere around the metal ion. The ligands are very effective in inhibiting cellular growth in a chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line, K562. Both complexes are able to interact with DNA and present moderate cytotoxic activity, but 5 min of UV-light exposure increases cytotoxicity by three times.  相似文献

The paper describes synthesis of (nBu4N)2[RuNOCl5](I), (nBu4N)2[RuNOCl4OH](II), (nBu4N)2×[RuNOCl4OH]·6H2O (III), and (nBu4N)2[RuNOCl5]· 2(nBu4N)2[RuNOCl4(H2O)]·2H2O (IV). The complexes were studied by IR spectroscopy and powder Xray and crystal Xray analyses. The structures are built up of [RuNOCl5]2- (I, IV), [RuNOCl4OH]2- (II, III), and [RuNOCl4(H2O)]- (IV) complex anions, (nBu4N)+ cations, and crystal water molecules (III, IV). The substances are moderately soluble in water; highly soluble in polar organic solvents, such as acetone, ethanol, chloroform, methylene chloride; and almost insoluble in carbon tetrachloride and toluene. Under storage in light, the compounds decompose from the surface; in darkness I and II are stable, whereas III and IV can lose part of the crystal water.  相似文献

A new class of ruthenium(II) polypyridine complexes with a series of D–π–A–π–D type (D=donor, A=acceptor) ligands was synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of the complexes were also investigated. The newly synthesized ruthenium(II) polypyridine complexes were found to exhibit two intense absorption bands at both high‐energy (λ=333–369 nm) and low‐energy (λ=520–535 nm) regions. They are assigned as intraligand (IL) π→π* transitions of the bipyridine (bpy) and π‐conjugated bpy ligands, and IL charge‐transfer (CT) transitions from the donor to the acceptor moiety with mixing of dπ(RuII)→π*(bpy) and dπ(RuII)→π*(L) MLCT characters, respectively. In addition, all complexes were demonstrated to exhibit intense red emissions at approximately λ=727–744 nm in degassed dichloromethane at 298 K or in n‐butyronitrile glass at 77 K. Nanosecond transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy has also been carried out, establishing the presence of the charge‐separated state. In order to understand the electrochemical properties of the complexes, cyclic voltammetry has also been performed. Two quasi‐reversible oxidation couples and three quasi‐reversible reduction couples were observed. One of the ruthenium(II) complexes has been utilized in the fabrication of memory devices, in which an ON/OFF current ratio of over 104 was obtained.  相似文献

The selective detection of metal ions in water, using sustainable detection systems, is of crescent importance for monitoring water environments and drinking water safety. One of the key elements of future chemical sciences is the use of sustainable approaches in the design of new materials. In this study, we design and synthesize a low-cost, water-soluble potassium salt of 3,4,9,10-perylene tetracarboxylic acid (PTAS), which shows a selective optical response on the addition of Cu2+ and Pb2+ ions in aqueous solutions. By using a water-soluble chromophore, the interactions with the metal ions are definitely more intimate and efficient, with respect to standard methods employing cosolvents. The detection limits of PTAS for both Cu2+ and Pb2+ are found to be 2 µM by using a simple absorbance mode, and even lower (1 μM) with NMR experiments, indicating that this analyte–probe system is sensitive enough for the detection of copper ions in drinking water and lead ions in waste water. The complexation of PTAS with both ions is supported with NMR studies, which reveal the formation of new species between PTAS and analytes. By combining a low-cost water-soluble chromophore with efficient analyte–probe interactions due to the use of aqueous solutions, the results here obtained provide a basis for designing sustainable sensing systems.  相似文献

Two new mixed-ligand ruthenium(Ⅱ) complexes,Ru(dcbpy)-(LL)NCS)2[where dcbpy=4,4‘-dicarboxyl-2,2‘‘-bipyridine,LL=4,4‘-bis(N-methyl-anilinomethyl)-2,2‘‘-bipyridine(2)],were synthesized, and the tphotophysical properties of these complexes were studied. The metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions of these complexes exhibited solvatochromic effect due to the existence of NCS ligands. The MLCT energies also strongly depend on the pH values of the solutions because of protonation and deprotonation of the carboxyl groups. The pKa values of the ground state,4.0 for 1 and 3.8 for 2,were obtained from the titration curves. The photoelectrochemical properties of 1 and 2 as sensitizers in sandwich-type solar cells have been studied.Complex 1 exhibited better photoelectrochemical behavior than complex 2 as expected. It was proved that the design of mixed-ligand complex by introducing electron donating group in one of the ligands should be a promising approach.  相似文献

Tuning the redox potential of commonly available photocatalyst to improve the catalytic performance or expand its scope for challenging synthetic conversions is an ongoing demand in synthetic chemistry. Herein, the excited state properties and redox potential of commercially available [Ru(bpy)3]2+ photocatalyst were tuned by modifying the structure of the bipyridine ligands with electron-donating/withdrawing units. The visible-light-mediated photoredox phosphorylation of tertiary aliphatic amines was demonstrated under mild conditions. A series of cross-dehydrogenative coupling reactions were performed employing the RuII complexes as photocatalyst giving the corresponding α-aminophosphinoxides and α-aminophosphonates via carbon-phosphorus (C−P) bond formation.  相似文献

The X‐ray crystallographic structures of two of the compounds, [(η6p‐cymene)Ru(η4‐C6Me4Se2)] ( 7 ) and [(η6p‐cymene)Ru(η4‐C6H4SeO)] ( 8 ), were determined. The structures confirm the identity of the target compounds and ascertain the coordination mode of these unprecedented ruthenium π complexes of selenoquinones. Furthermore, these new compounds display relevant cytotoxic properties towards human ovarian cancer cells.  相似文献

Two new luminescent ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complexes, [Ru(bpy)2(tpt‐phen)]Cl2 ( 1 ; bpy=2,2′‐bipyridine, tpt‐phen=triptycenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline) and [Ru(phen)2(tpt‐phen)]Cl2 ( 2 ; phen=1,10‐phenanthroline), have been developed as potential nonviral vectors for DNA delivery. Photophysical and electrochemical properties of the complexes have been investigated and corroborated with electronic structure calculations. DNA condensation by these complexes has been investigated by UV/Vis and emission spectroscopy, circular dichroism spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, dynamic light scattering, confocal microscopy, and electrophoretic mobility studies. These complexes interact with DNA and efficiently condense DNA into globular nanoparticles that are taken up efficiently by HeLa cells. DNA cleavage inability and biocompatibility of complexes have been explored. Both complexes have good gene transfection abilities.  相似文献

Functionalization of the PNP pincer ligand backbone allows for a comparison of the dialkyl amido, vinyl alkyl amido, and divinyl amido ruthenium(II) pincer complex series [RuCl{N(CH2CH2PtBu2)2}], [RuCl{N(CHCHPtBu2)(CH2CH2PtBu2)}], and [RuCl{N(CHCHPtBu2)2}], in which the ruthenium(II) ions are in the extremely rare square‐planar coordination geometry. Whereas the dialkylamido complex adopts an electronic singlet (S=0) ground state and energetically low‐lying triplet (S=1) state, the vinyl alkyl amido and the divinyl amido complexes exhibit unusual triplet (S=1) ground states as confirmed by experimental and computational examination. However, essentially non‐magnetic ground states arise for the two intermediate‐spin complexes owing to unusually large zero‐field splitting (D>+200 cm?1). The change in ground state electronic configuration is attributed to tailored pincer ligand‐to‐metal π‐donation within the PNP ligand series.  相似文献

Synthetic strategies are presented for the preparation of readily soluble ruthenium(II) coordination polymers of high molecular weight. The constitutional homogeneity of the polymers is proved using high-resolution NMR spectroscopy, and their molar masses are estimated from 1H NMR spectra, viscosity data and SAXS investigations. The polymers are shown to be conformationally rigid, and to form either densely packed coils or rods. It is mainly this difference in shape which causes the very specific properties of the respective polyelectrolytes in the solid state as well as in dilute solution. Finally, the UV-vis absorption spectra of some of these materials are presented.  相似文献

Details of the direct synthesis of cationic Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐arene) complexes from ruthenocene using microwave heating are reported. Developed for the important catalyst precursor [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐1‐4,4a,8a‐naphthalene)][PF6] reaction time could be shortened from three days to 15 min. The method was extended to [Ru(II)(η6‐benzene)(η5‐Cp)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐toluene)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐mesitylene)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐hexamethylbenzene)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5Cp)(η6‐indane)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐2,6‐dimethylnaphthalene)][PF6], and [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐pyrene)][PF6]. 1‐methylnaphthalene and 2,3‐dimethylnaphthalene afforded mixtures of regioisomeric complexes. [Ru(Cp)(CH3CN)3][PF6], derived from the naphthalene precursor provided access to the cationic RuCp complexes of naphthoquinone, tetralindione, 1,4‐dihydroxynaphthalene, and 1,4‐dimethoxynaphthalene. Reduction of the tetralindione complex afforded selectively the endo, endo diol derivative. X‐Ray structures of five complexes are reported.  相似文献
