Development of a novel modified electrode for electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol in order to decrease overvoltage is importance. In this paper, carbon paste electrode (CPE) was modified by ZSM-5 nanozeolite. The average diameter of used nanozeolite was 97 nm. Ni2+ ions were incorporated to the nanozeolite by immersion of the modified electrode in a 0.1 M nickel chloride solution. Then, electrochemical studies of this electrode were performed by using cyclic voltammetry(CV) in alkaline medium. This modified electrode was used as an anode for the electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol in 0.1 M of NaOH solution. The obtained data demonstrated that ZSM-5 nanozeolite at the surface of CPE improves catalytic efficiency of the dispersed nickel ions toward methanol oxidation. The values of electron transfer coefficient, charge-transfer rate constant, and the electrode surface coverage are obtained 0.61, 0.2342 s?1, and 4.33 × 10?8 mol cm?2, respectively. Also, the mean value of catalytic rate constant between the methanol and redox sites of electrode and diffusion coefficient were found to be 2.54 × 104 cm3 mol?1 s?1 and 1.85 × 10?8 cm2 s?1, respectively. Obtained results from both CV and chronoamperometric techniques indicated that the electrode reaction is a diffusion-controlled process.  相似文献

The Cu (II) imprinted polymer glassy carbon electrode (GCE/Cu-IP) was prepared by electropolymerization of pyrrole at GCE in the presence of methyl red as a dopant and then imprinting by Cu2+ ions. This electrode was applied for potentiometric and voltammetric detection of Cu2+ ion. The potentiometric response of the electrode was linear within the Cu2+ concentration range of 3.9 × 10?6 to 5.0 × 10?2 M with a near-Nernstian slope of 29.0 mV decade?1 and a detection limit of 5.0 × 10?7 M. The electrode was also used for preconcentration anodic stripping voltammetry and results exhibited that peak currents for the incorporated copper species were dependent on the metal ion concentration in the range of 1.0 × 10?8 to 1.0 × 10?3 M and detection limit was 6.5 × 10?9 M. Also the selectivity of the prepared electrode was investigated. The imprinted polymer electrode was used for the successful assay of copper in two standard reference material samples.  相似文献

A strategy to fabricate a hydrogen peroxide (HP) sensor is developed by electrodepositing silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) on a modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with a zinc oxide (ZnO) film. The Ag NPs/ZnO/GCE has been characterized by scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and chronoamperometry. It has been found that the Ag NPs synthesized in the presence of ZnO film provide an electrode with enhanced sensitivity and excellent stability. The sensitivity to HP is enhanced 3-fold by using Ag NPs/ZnO/GCE compared to Ag NPs/GCE. The HP sensor exhibits good linear behavior in the concentration range 2 µM to 5.5 mM for the quantitative analysis of HP with a detection limit of 0.42 µM (S/N?=?3).  相似文献

Electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ER-GO) was prepared by reducing exfoliated graphene oxide sheets on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The voltammetric responses of Sudan I-IV were studied at the ER-GO modified GCE (ER-GO/GCE). Compared with chemically reduced graphene oxide (CR-GO) modified electrode (CR-GO/GCE), ER-GO/GCE showed higher voltammetric responses to Sudan I. The electrode had a linear response to Sudan I in the range of 0.04–8.0 µmol L?1 and a detection limit of 0.01 µmol L?1. The real sample determination indicated that the proposed method was reliable, effective, and sufficient.  相似文献

Novel ligand 5,5?-((3-nitrophenyl)methylene)bis(2,6-diaminopyrimidin-4(3H)-one) (L) was synthesised and characterised. Preliminary studies on L have showed that it has more affinity towards the Ni2+ ion. Thus, the L was used as the electroactive material in the fabrication of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)-based membrane sensors such as coated graphite electrode (CGE) and coated pyrolytic graphite electrode (CPGE). Several polymeric membranes were fabricated by incorporating L as ionophore, NaTPB as anion excluders and BA, 1-CN, DBP, DOP and o-NPOE as solvent mediators and their effect on potentiometric response studied. Comparative electroanalytical studies performed on the CGE and CPGE depict that the CPGE with optimised membrane composition of L:PVC:o-NPOE:NaTPB in the ratio of 7:33:58:2 (w/w, mg) exhibited the best response in terms of wide working concentration range from 2.0 × 10?8 to 1.0 × 10?1 mol L?1, (3.64 µg L?1 –18.2 g L?1) lower detection limit of 8.1 × 109 mol L?1 (1.47 µg L?1) with Nernstian compliance of 29.4 ± 0.2 mV decade?1 of activity of Ni2+ ion in the pH range of 3.5–9.0. The sensor can work satisfactorily in water–acetonitrile and water–methanol mixtures. It can tolerate 30% acetonitrile and 20% methanol content in the mixtures. The sensor showed fast response time of 8 s and could be used successfully for a period of 4 months. The sensor reflects its utility in the quantification of Ni2+ ion in real samples and has been successfully employed as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Ni2+ ion with EDTA.  相似文献

Chemical sensors relying on graphene-based materials have been widely used for electrochemical determination of metal ions and have demonstrated excellent signal amplification. This study reports an electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO)/mercury film (HgF) nanocomposite-modified pencil graphite electrode (PGE) prepared through successive electrochemical reduction of graphene oxide (GO) sheets and an in situ plated HgF. The ERGO-PG-HgFE, in combination with dimethylglyoxime (DMG) and square-wave adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (SW-AdCSV), was evaluated for the determination of Ni2+ in tap and natural river water samples. A single-step electrode pre-concentration approach was employed for the in situ Hg-film electroplating, metal-chelate complex formation, and non-electrolytic adsorption at –0.7 V. The current response due to nickel-dimethylglyoxime [Ni(II)-DMG2] complex reduction was studied as a function of experimental paratmeters including the accumulation potential, accumulation time, rotation speed, frequency and amplitude, and carefully optimized for the determination of Ni2+ at low concentration levels (μg?L?1) in pH 9.4 of 0.1 M NH3–NH4Cl buffer. The reduction peak currents were linear with the Ni2+ concentration between 2 and 16?μg?L?1. The limits of detection and quantitation were 0.120?±?0.002?µg?L?1 and 0.401?±?0.007?µg?L?1 respectively, for the determination of Ni2+ at an accumulation time of 120?s. The ERGO-PG-HgFE further demonstrated a highly selective stripping response toward Ni2+ determination compared to Co2+. The electrode was found to be sufficiently sensitive to determine metal ions in water samples at 0.1?µg?L?1, well below the World Health Organization standards.  相似文献

Abstract

This work demonstrates the electrochemical behavior of the 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(α-furoyl)-pyrazolone-5 (HPMαFP) modified glassy carbon electrode (HPMαFP/GCE) by a dropletting method. Tyrosine (Tyr) was detected at the HPMαFP/GCE by cyclic voltammetry. The mechanism and the best condition of electrode reaction were studied. The results indicate Tyr has an excellent electrochemical response at HPMαFP/GCE; under optimized experimental conditions, the peak current is proportional to the concentration of Tyr over a wide range. The linear regression equation at HPMαFP/GCE is IPa (µA) = 1.01134 + 0.96716 C (µmol · L?1) (r = 0.99914). The low detection limit is 1.6 × 10?7 mol · L?1. The modified electrode exhibited high sensitivity, good selectivity, and reproducibility, and it is easy to prepare.  相似文献

This article reviews the use of square wave anodic stripping voltammetry for the simultaneous determination of ecotoxic metals (Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn) on a bismuth-film (BiFE) electrode. The BiFE was prepared in situ on a glassy-carbon electrode (GCE) from the 0.1 mol L?1 acetate buffer solution (pH 4.5) containing 200 µg L?1 of bismuth (III). The addition of hydrogen peroxide to the electroanalytical cell proved beneficial for the interference-free determination of Cu (II) together with zinc, lead, and cadmium, using the BiFE. The experimental variables were investigated and optimized with the view to apply this type of voltammetric sensor to real samples containing traces of these metals. The performance characteristics, such as reproducibility, decision limit (CCa), detection capability (CCβ), sensitivity, and accuracy indicated that the method holds promise for trace Cu2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, and Zn2+ levels by employment of Hg-free GCE with SWASV. CCa, and CCβ were calculated according to the Commission Decision of 12 August 2002 (2002/657/EC). Linearity was observed in the range 20–280 µg L?1 for zinc, 10–100 µg L?1 for lead, 10–80 µg L?1 for copper, and 5–50 µg L?1 for cadmium. Using the optimized conditions, the stripping performance of the BiFE was characterized by low limits of detection (LOD). Finally, the method was successfully applied in real as well as in certified reference water samples.  相似文献

Electrocatalytic oxidation of sulfide ion on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and a copper (II) complex was investigated. The Cu(II) complex was used due to the reversibility of the Cu(II)/Cu(III) redox couple. The MWCNTs are evaluated as a transducer, stabilizer and immobilization matrix for the construction of amperometric sensor based on Cu(II) complex adsorbed on MWCNTs immobilized on the surface of GCE. The modified GCE was applied to the selective amperometric detection of sulfide at a potential of 0.47 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) at pH 8.0. The calibration graph was linear in the concentration range of 5 µM–400 µM; while the limit of detection was 1.2 µM, the sensitivity was 34 nA µM?1. The interference effects of SO3 2?, SO4 2?, S2O3 2?, S4O6 2?, Cysteine, and Cystein were negligible at the concentration ratios more than 40 times. The modified electrode is more stable with time and more easily restorable than unmodified electrode surface. Also, modified electrode permits detection of sulfide ion by its oxidation at lower anodic potentials.   相似文献

In this work, a simple experimental procedure was reported for the electroanalytical determination of selenium (IV) using reduced graphene oxide (rGO) to modify glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The rGO was obtained by reduction of graphene oxide obtained via Hummer’s method. The synthesised rGO was characterised using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy and transmission Electron microscopy (TEM). GCE was modified with rGO and the electrochemical properties of the bare and modified electrode were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results obtained showed that the modified electrode exhibited more excellent electrochemical properties than the bare GCE. The optimum conditions for detection of selenium in water using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry were as follows: deposition potential ?500 mV, pH 1, pre-concentration time of 240 s and 0.1 M nitric acid was used as supporting electrolyte. The linear regression equation obtained was I (µA) = 0.8432C + 9.2359 and the detection limit was calculated to be 0.85 μg L?1. However, Cu(II) and Cd(II) are the two cations that interfered in the analysis of selenium in water.

The sensor was also applied for real sample water analysis and the result obtained was affirmed with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopic method. It is believed that our proposed sensor hold promise for practical application.  相似文献

Abstract

The 6-ferrocenylhexanethiol (FcC6SH) functionalized multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) modified glassy carbon electrode (FcC6SH/MWNTs/GCE) was easily fabricated and used for the sensitive detection of NADH. Cyclic voltammetric and amperometric methods were used to study the behavior of NADH on the FcC6SH/MWNTs/GCE. A broader linear response range to the NADH concentration from 5 µM to 1.5 mM with a correlation coefficient of 0.9982 was obtained. The detection limit was 0.54 µM. The synergetic effects of FcC6SH and MWNTs make the modified electrode highly sensitive to NADH. In addition, the modified electrode can decrease the fouling of the electrode surface.  相似文献

Diphenylamine (DPA) monomers have been electropolymerized on the amino‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotube (AFCNT) composite film modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The surface morphology of PDPA‐AFCNT was studied using field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM). The interfacial electron transfer phenomenon at the modified electrode was studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The PDPA‐AFCNT/GCE represented a multifunctional sensor and showed good electrocatalytic behavior towards the oxidation of catechol and the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. Rotating‐disk electrode technique was applied to detect catechol with a sensitivity of 1360 µA mM?1 cm?2 and a detection limit of 0.01 mM. Amperometric determination of hydrogen peroxide at the PDPA‐AFCNT film modified electrode results in a linear range from 10 to 800 µM, a sensitivity of 487.1 µA mM?1 cm?2 and detection limit of 1 µM. These results show that the nano‐composite film modified electrode can be utilized to develop a multifunctional sensor.  相似文献

In the present research, the electro oxidation of methanol was investigated by different electrochemical methods at a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with bis(salicylaldehyde)‐nickel(II)‐dihydrate complex (Ni(II)‐BS) and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) (which named Ni(II)‐BS/RGO/CPE) in an alkaline solution. This modified electrode showed very efficient activity for oxidation of methanol. It was found that methanol was oxidized by NiOOH groups generated by further electrochemical oxidation of nickel (II) hydroxide on the surface of the modified electrode. The rate constant and electron transfer coefficient were calculated to be 2.18 s?1 and 0.4, respectively. The anodic peak currents revealed a linear dependency with the square root of scan rate. This behaviour is the characteristic of a diffusion controlled process, so the diffusion coefficient of methanol was found to be 1.16×10?5 cm2 s?1 and the number of transferred electron was calculated to be 1. Moreover, differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) investigations showed that the peak current values were proportional to the concentration of methanol in two linear ranges. The obtained linear ranges were from 0.5 to 100.0 µM (R2=0.991) and 400.0 to 1300.0 µM (R2=0.992), and the detection limit was found to be 0.19 µM for methanol determination. Generally, the Ni(II)‐BS/RGO/CPE sensor was used for determination of methanol in an industrial ethanol solution containing 4.0 % methanol.  相似文献

A composite film of nickel hexacyanoferrate (NiHCF) and bentonite (Bt) clay (abbreviated as NiHCF?Bt) is synthesized by an in situ electrochemical method. For this synthesis, nickel ions are immobilized on Bt clay by an ion‐exchange process, equilibrating Bt clay with nickel nitrate. On a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), the nickel ion‐exchanged Bt clay (Ni2+?Bt) is coated to get the modified electrode which is represented as GCE/Ni2+?Bt. The NiHCF?Bt composite film is prepared on the GCE surface using the GCE/Ni2+?Bt and scanning the electrode potentials between ?0.10 to 1.00 V continuously in an aqueous solution containing potassium hexacyanoferrate and potassium chloride. This NiHCF?Bt modified GCE (GCE/NiHCF?Bt) exhibits redox peaks due to the oxidation and reduction of the central metal ion, Fe2+. The electro‐generated Fe3+ present in the GCE/NiHCF?Bt, electrocatalytically oxidizes a range of drugs like acetaminophen (AC), dopamine (DA), and tyrosine (TY) at decreased overpotentials with high current. This property is advantageously used for the precise quantification of AC, DA, and TY. Sensitivity, limit of detection, and linear calibration range for the determination of AC are found to be 0.20 μA μM?1 cm?2, 1.5 μM, and 25.0–1000.0 μM, respectively. Further, the amount of AC present in pharmaceutical products is satisfactorily quantified which demonstrated the use of the NiHCF?Bt composite film in electroanalysis.  相似文献

This article reports the fabrication of Acid Violet 34 (AV34)/nickel hydroxide nanosheets ultrathin film on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) via the electrostatic layer‐by‐layer (LBL) technique, and its electrocatalytic oxidation for glucose was demonstrated. UV‐vis absorption and electrochemical impedance spectra indicate the uniform deposition of the LBL film, with a continuous and smooth film surface observed by SEM and AFM. The electrochemical performance of the ultrathin film was studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The (AV34/Ni(OH)2)5 ultrathin film modified electrode displays a fast direct electron transfer attributed to the Ni2+/Ni3+ redox couple as well as remarkable electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of glucose. The linear response was obtained in the range 0.5–13.5 mM (R=0.9994) with a low detection limit (14 µM), high sensitivity (25.9 µA mM?1 cm?2), rapid response (less than 1 s) and excellent anti‐interference properties to the species including ascorbic acid (AA), uric acid (UA), acetamidophenol (AP) and structurally related sugars. Therefore, the AV34/Ni(OH)2 ultrathin film can be potentially used as a feasible electrochemical sensor for the determination of glucose.  相似文献

A multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and cobalt(II) tetrakisphenylporphyrin (Co(II)TPP) modified glassy carbon electrode (MWNTs/Co(II)TPP/GCE) has been prepared. It can be used for individual or simultaneous determination of hydroquinone (HQ) and catechol (CC). The anodic peaks of HQ and CC can be separated well. Owing to the unique properties of MWNTs and special synergistic effect of MWNTs and Co(II)TPP, the modified electrode exhibited a remarkable and stable current response for CC and HQ. The linear ranges for CC and HQ were 1.0–450.0 µmol L?1 and 0.8–400.0 µmol L?1 with detection limits of 0.8 µmol L?1 and 0.5 µmol L?1, respectively. Furthermore, Co(II)TPP, MWNTs, and Co(II)TPP/MWNTs composite were also used to construct modified electrodes and the electrochemical performances were studied.  相似文献

The work demonstrates a simple method for sensitive detection of Ca2+ ion by electrochemical response of alizarin red S (ARS) and Ca-ARS at a gold nanoparticle modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). In the 0.1 M KOH, a sensitive reduction peak was observed at ?0.795 V at the gold nanoparticles modified electrode. The peak currents were proportional to the concentrations of Ca2+ ion in the range of 2.0 × 10?7 M–1.2 × 10?4 M. For the different pulse voltammetry (DPV) methods, the detection limit was 2.57 × 10?8 M. The reaction mechanism was primarily determined by cyclic voltammetry, and the experimental results showed that the electrode processes were quasireversible responses of ARS and irreversible responses of ARS-Ca. In addition, the method was simple, fast, precise, and was used in the determination of calcium in blood serum with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Abstract

A highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor for the detection of trace amount of 1‐naphthol was designed. Acid‐denatured DNA were immobilized onto the pretreated glassy carbon electrode (GCE(ox)) surface. Two well‐defined oxidation peaks were observed on the denatured DNA‐modified GCE(ox) at about +0.80 V and +1.10 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) in 0.10‐M acetate buffer (pH 5.0). The peak current of the guanine residue decreased with increasing concentration of 1‐naphthol. The optimum experimental conditions for the detection of 1‐naphthol were explored, and the calibration was linear for 1‐naphthol in the range of 1.0×10?8?1.1×10?6 M, with a correlation coefficient of 0.998. The limit of detection (LOD) was 5.0×10?9 M (S/N=3).  相似文献

The graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets were produced by chemical conversion of graphite, and were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). An electrochemical sensor based on Ni/graphene (GR) composite film was developed by incorporating Ni2+ into the graphene oxide film modified glassy carbon electrode (Ni/GO/GCE) through the electrostatic interactions with negatively charged graphene oxide. The Ni2+/graphene modified glassy carbon electrode (Ni/GR/GCE) was prepared by cyclic voltammetric scanning of Ni/GO/GCE in the potential range from ?1.5 to 0.2 V at 50 mV s?1 for 5 cycles. The electrochemical activity of Ni/GR/GCE was illustrated in 0.10 M NaOH using cyclic voltammetry. The Ni/GR/GCE exhibits the characteristic of improved reversibility and enhanced current responses of the Ni(III)/Ni(II) couple. The introduction of conductive graphene not only greatly facilitates the electron transfer of Ni2+, but also dramatically improves the long-term stability of the sensor by providing the electrostatic interactions. Ni/GR/GCE also shows good electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of glucose. The Ni/GR/GCE gives a good linear range over 10 to 2700 μM with a detection limit of 5 μM towards the determination of glucose by amperometry. This sensor keeps over 85% activity towards 0.1 mM glucose after being stored in air for a month, respectively. Furthermore, the modified sensor was successfully applied to the sensitive determination of glucose in blood samples.  相似文献

A novel electrochemical sensor based on nickel-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (Ni0.1Co0.9Fe2O4)-modified glassy carbon electrode (NCF/GCE) was presented for the sensitive detection of paracetamol. Experimental conditions such as pH, applied potentials and concentration were investigated using cyclic voltammetric and chronoamperometric techniques. The modified electrode exhibited excellent catalytic response towards the oxidation of paracetamol with good reproducibility. The overpotential for oxidation of paracetamol is decreased, and the current response enhanced significantly on the modified electrode in comparison with that of bare electrode. Linear calibration curve is obtained over the range 2 μM to 8,000 μM having a detection limit of 11 nM. The modified electrode facilitated the simultaneous detection of paracetamol, ascorbic acid, and dopamine with good reproducibility.  相似文献
