The diffusion of glycerol molecules decreases with decreasing temperature as its viscosity increases in a manner simply described by the Stokes-Einstein relation. Approaching the glass transition, this relation breaks down as it does with a number of other pure liquid glass formers. We have measured the diffusion coefficient for binary mixtures of glycerol and water and find that the Stokes-Einstein relation is restored with increasing water concentration. Our comparison with theory suggests that adding water postpones the formation of frustration domains.  相似文献

An analytical expression is obtained for the time dependence of the concentration of the second component in the diffusion zone of a solid phase during its interaction with a liquid phase. A method of fabricating a tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) with a designed reflection spectrum profile is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. In a reflective TFBG the central wavelength and the reflectivity are dependent on the tilt angles. Controlling the rate at which the tilt angle is continuously varied and the exposure dose in the UV-light writing process permits accurate control of the bandwidth and reflectivity of the grating. The experimental result agrees well with TFBG theory and calculation.  相似文献

本文提出了一种测量液相扩散系数的新方法. 该方法用透明毛细管构成液相扩散池, 利用毛细管成像法特有的折射率空间分辨测量能力, 通过直接观察和记录扩散介质的等折射率薄层在毛细管中的移动规律, 基于扩散过程遵循的Fick第二定律计算出液相扩散系数. 在25 ℃下研究了丙三醇和纯水间的扩散过程, 扩散系数的测量值与全息干涉法的文献报道值之间的相对误差为4.47%, 论文同时分析了折射率测量精度和毛细管管壁黏滞力对扩散系数的影响. 用毛细管成像法测量液相扩散系数具有样品需要量少、测量速度快、系统稳定性好的特点, 为快速测定微量样品的扩散系数提供了一种有效的新方法. 关键词: 扩散系数 液体折射率 毛细管成像法  相似文献

The grain boundary diffusion in a binary system which exhibits a grain boundary phase transition is considered in the framework of Fisher's model. The kinetic law of the growth of the grain boundary phase and the distribution of the diffusant near the grain boundary are calculated. The method of determining of the concentration dependence of the grain boundary diffusion coefficient from the experimentally measured penetration profiles of the diffusant along the grain boundaries is suggested. The experimental results on Zn diffusion in Fe(Si) bicrystals, Ni diffusion in Cu bicrystals and grain boundary grooving in Al in the presence of liquid In are discussed in light of the suggested model.  相似文献

根据倾斜光纤光栅(TFBG)和表面镀金的TFBG传感器测量折射率的基本原理,通过OptiGrating软件模拟了不同浓度溶液下TFBG的透射谱和芯层模与某阶包层模耦合引起的谐振峰,初步得出了TFBG各阶包层模随着外界折射率的增大而向右偏移、在一定的传感范围内中心波长与外界折射率呈线性关系的结论。用小型离子溅射仪对TFBG镀45 nm厚度左右的金膜,并用扫描电镜在微观上观察镀膜效果。通过不同浓度下的NaCl溶液、MgCl2溶液、CaCl2溶液实验,对比研究了裸TFBG和镀金TFBG传感器对溶液折射率的传感特性。从而验证了模拟仿真得出的结论并定量分析得知:镀金后具有表面等离子体共振的TFBG溶液折射率灵敏度大于500 nm·RIU-1,而裸TFBG为2 nm·RIU-1左右,大约提高了200~300倍,且在一定范围内中心波长与溶液折射率的线性拟合度都在0.99以上。  相似文献

The morphological instability of solidification is analytically studied in the presence of an anisotropic and heterogeneous phase transition zone with allowance for a liquid flow and convective heat-andmass transfer in this two-phase zone. The mechanism of breaking the stability of solidification is considered; it consists in a convective heat and impurity transfer during a liquid flow along channels in the phase transition zone. The morphological instability is subjected to linear analysis with allowance for a liquid flow in the liquid phase of the system, impurity diffusion in the two-phase zone, and the dependence of the transfer coefficients on the phase composition. The perturbation evolution parameter is determined for an anisotropic and heterogeneous two-phase zone, and neutral stability curves of the process are obtained. It is shown that taking into account impurity diffusion and an increase in the heterogeneity of the phase transition zone broaden the instability region and that a decrease in the anisotropy narrows this region. A new criterion of convective morphological instability of solidification with a two-phase zone is found, and it substantially broadens the instability region when the liquid flow velocity increases.  相似文献

A novel lateral force sensor based on a core-offset tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The lateral force is determined by the differential reflected powers between the cladding mode and Bragg mode in the TFBG. The sensors respond monotonically with the lateral force increasing from 0 to 1.75 N. The sensitivity of such a core-offset TFBG sensor can be tailored by choosing different core-offset values. The simple differential power detection method makes the implementation of the sensor system cost-effective and free of the influence of environmental and system fluctuations.  相似文献

设计了一种氧化石墨烯(GO)功能化的倾斜光纤光栅(TFBG)传感器,用于检测水溶液中的重金属离子.通过氧等离子体活化光纤表面,以及采用GO的无水乙醇分散液,避免了咖啡环效应引起的GO的团聚和堆叠,充分了暴露GO的表面和羧基.吸附重金属离子后, GO-TFBG传感器的透射光谱中的谐振峰发生红移,这是由GO向重金属离子的电子转移导致的有效折射率变化造成的.对Pb2+和Cd2+离子最低检测限可达到10–10 mol/L (ng/L量级),相应灵敏度分别为0.426 d B/(nmol·L–1)和0.385 d B/(nmol·L–1)(2.06和3.43 d B/(μg·L–1)).此外, GO-TFBG传感器具有出色的器件一致性, 5组传感器的传感性能稳定.本研究实现了GO纳米片在光纤表面的无团聚和均匀成膜,获得了具有超大表面积的GO并充分暴露表面羧基实现对重金属离子的吸附,利用了TFBG不同模式谐振对环境的高度敏感性,完成了对低浓度重金属离子的高灵敏度、可重...  相似文献

We demonstrate a new type of fiber optic bend sensor with a hybrid structure made up of a long period grating (LPG) and a tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG). The sensing mechanism is based on the spectrum of power transfers between the core and cladding modes from a TFBG located downstream from a LPG. We show that the curvature of a beam can be determined by the reflected power difference between the core mode and the recoupled cladding modes. We further provide design rules for the LPG and TFBG to optimize and linearize the sensor response. In addition, the temperature cross-sensitivities of this configuration are also investigated for two different types of fiber.  相似文献

We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a cascaded tilted fiber Bragg grating(TFBG) for enhanced refractive index sensing. The TFBG is UV-inscribed in series in ordinary single-mode fiber(SMF) and reduced-diameter SMF with the same tilt angle, and then excites two sets of superposed spectral combs of cladding modes. The cascaded TFBG with total length of 18 mm has a much wider wavelength range over 100 nm and narrower wavelength separation than that of a TFBG only in the SMF, enabling an enlarged range and a higher accuracy of refractive index measurement. The fabricated TFBG with the merits of enhanced sensing capability and temperature self-calibration presents great potentials in the biochemical sensing applications.  相似文献

We investigate thermodynamic properties and spontaneous polarization of ferroelectric liquid crystal (SmC*LC) systems: smectic C matrix + chiral adding (ChA). The fact of existence of an optimum concentration of ChA, for which the studied SmC*LC systems have the maximum value of spontaneous polarization, and a certain concentration, at which the phase transition of the chiral tilted smectic C phase to the smectic A phase occurs, is established. Temperature dependence curves for the free energy, configuration energy, specific heat, and the orientational order parameter are calculated in the temperature range of existence of liquid crystal mesophases. The curves are in good agreement with the experimentally observed trends of the SmC*LC properties.  相似文献

A novel all-fibre cavity ring down spectroscopy technique is proposed where a tilt fibre Bragg grating (TFBG) or long-period grating (LPG) in the cavity provides sensitivity to surrounding medium. Such configuration with an LPG as the representative was theoretically analyzed. Two spectral bands were identified employable for sensing of surrounding refractive index for a weak LPG while only one band existed for a strong LPG. A TFBG, with enhanced sensitivity compared to usual LPGs, was used in a ring down cavity of 1 m constructed with 2 fibre Bragg gratings as the reflectors and the decay time changed from 220 to 450 ns when the TFBG was immersed into water from air.  相似文献

The effect of temperature, pressure and bonding time on microstructure of temperature gradient transient liquid phase (TGTLP) diffusion bonded Al7075 alloy using liquid gallium interlayer was investigated. The selected bonding method relies on using the minimum amount of liquid gallium on faying surfaces, using a very fast heating rate to reach the joining temperature and imposing a temperature gradient across the bond region. The microstructure of the diffusion bonded joints was evaluated by light optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Results show that by increasing the temperature, pressure and time of joining, a more uniform microstructure can be obtained at the joint area. The best joint microstructure was achieved at a temperature of 460?°C, pressure of 10?MPa and time of 10?min. EDS spot analysis indicates that brittle silicon-rich precipitates form at the joint line during TGTLP bonding.  相似文献

Two cases of inhomogeneous surface layers are considered — diffusion layers as well as implanted layers. The parameters of the layers are investigated by means of an X-ray rocking curve analysis. In this paper the concentration profile of a diffusion layer in Si is determined from X-ray rocking curves, the rocking curves on implanted layers will be discussed in the next paper. A graph is constructed for determining approximate values of surface concentrationC 0 and diffusion lengthL from subsidiary maxima on the X-ray rocking curve. The dependence of the shape of the rocking curves on the type of the concentration profile and on the values ofC 0 andL was shown. The influence of crystal thickness and curvature is studied theoretically and experimentally. As an example of using this method a rocking curve of a crystal with a boron diffusion layer is measured and the parameters of the concentration profile are determined. The parameters found are proved by multiplied measurement of rocking curves after anodic oxidation and by comparing these rocking curves with theoretical ones.  相似文献

The pulsed NMR technique was used to investigate diffusion on the BCC-HCP phase-equilibrium and melting curves of a dilute solution of 3He in 4He. The contributions from all coexisting phases were identified using the spin-echo method. It is established that, along with the contributions from the equilibrium BCC and HCP phases or from bulk liquid (in the melting curve measurements), there is an additional diffusional process that is characterized by an anomalously high diffusion coefficient. It is found that the latter is close to the diffusion coefficient in liquid helium, while the diffusion itself is spatially restricted. The observed effect may be caused by the formation of liquid droplets in the course of the BCC-HCP transition.  相似文献

Synchrotron‐based X‐ray tomographic microscopy is investigated for imaging the local distribution and concentration of phosphoric acid in high‐temperature polymer electrolyte fuel cells. Phosphoric acid fills the pores of the macro‐ and microporous fuel cell components. Its concentration in the fuel cell varies over a wide range (40–100 wt% H3PO4). This renders the quantification and concentration determination challenging. The problem is solved by using propagation‐based phase contrast imaging and a referencing method. Fuel cell components with known acid concentrations were used to correlate greyscale values and acid concentrations. Thus calibration curves were established for the gas diffusion layer, catalyst layer and membrane in a non‐operating fuel cell. The non‐destructive imaging methodology was verified by comparing image‐based values for acid content and concentration in the gas diffusion layer with those from chemical analysis.  相似文献

A widely tunable mode-locked all-fiberized Yb-doped fiber laser with near-transform-limited spectrum linewidth is used. It consists of a tunable fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) and a fiber-coupled LiNbO3 phase modulator (PM) in a linear cavity. The TFBG is used to achieve tunable emission wavelength, and the intracavity PM is used to achieve actively mode-locking operation. We have experimentally demonstrated that the laser-emitting wavelength can be tuned between 1,041 and 1,091 nm with power fluctuation less than 3 dB. The temporal width of the laser pulse is about 1 ns, and the pulses are near transform-limited with a spectral linewidth of 1.3 GHz. The results may find useful application in optical communication and optical measurement system.  相似文献

A two-dimensional square grain model has been applied to model oxygen exchange processes between a gas phase and a ceramic composite consisting of two randomly distributed phases of equal grain size (side length of squares). Both average diffusion profiles for thin films and the time dependence of the total amount of exchanged oxygen (relaxation curves) have been calculated numerically by means of the finite element method. The boundary conditions refer to an instantaneous change of the oxygen partial pressure in the surrounding gas phase, which gives rise to surface exchange reactions as well as to diffusion in the composite. Both local equilibrium at the interface between different phases (host phase and inclusions) and blocking heterophase boundaries have been taken into account. The numerical results are compared with the analytical solution for diffusion in a homogeneous medium introducing effective diffusion and surface exchange coefficients. When the relaxation time for effective medium diffusion is considerably shorter than that for the transport process from the host phase into the inclusions, relaxation curves with two separate time constants are predicted. Based on analytical approximations, relaxation times for various limiting cases are given.  相似文献
