The relationship between the size of the substituents of aryl groups in a series of fifteen 6,9,12,15,18‐pentaaryl‐1‐hydro[60]fullerenes and the solid‐state structures and packing motifs of these compounds has been analyzed. Pentaarylfullerenes have a characteristic “badminton shuttlecock” shape that causes several derivatives to crystallize into columnar stacks. However, many pentaarylfullerenes form non‐stacked structures with, for example, dimeric, layered, diamondoid, or feather‐in‐cavity relationships between molecules. Computational modeling gave a qualitative estimate of the best shape match between the ball and socket surfaces of each pentaarylfullerene. The best match was for pentaarylfullerenes with large, spherically shaped para‐substituents on the aryl groups. The series of pentaarylfullerenes was characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. A total of 34 crystal structures were obtained as various solvates and were categorized by their packing motifs.  相似文献

A series of novel transformations of [60]fullerene derivatives were found, starting from methano[60]fullerenes with an electron-donating group on the methano-bridge carbon. Aminomethano[60]fullerenes, in situ generated by the treatment of their trifluoromethanesulfonic acid salts with a base, were readily converted into 1-acyl-1,2-dihydro[60]fullerenes via the ring opening of the cyclopropane moiety. The aldehyde/ketones thus obtained were easily hydrolyzed to give 1,2-dihydro[60]fullerene in the presence of hydroxide anions.  相似文献

Synthesis of emerald green fullerenes (EF) C60[C(CH3)(CO2Et)2]6 and C60[C(CH3)(CO2-t-Bu)2]6 was performed by using hexaanionic C60 intermediate (C60-6) as a reagent in one-pot reaction for attaching six alkyl ester addends on one C60 cage. These EF compounds exhibit intense optical absorption over 600-940 nm, the longest optical absorption of the C60 cage among many [60]fullerene derivatives synthesized.  相似文献

[60]- and [70]fullerenes have been shown to form 1:1 supramolecular complexes with (i) 24,26-dimethoxy-25,27-dihydroxy-5,11,17,23-tetra(4-tert-butyl)calix[4]arene (1) and (ii) 37,39,41-trimethoxy-38,40,42-trihydroxy-5,11,17,23,29,35-hexa(4-tert-butyl)calix[6]arene (2) in CCl(4) medium by absorption spectroscopy. Charge transfer absorption bands of the complexes have been located in each of the cases (except [70]fullerene-2 complex) studied from which the vertical ionisation potential of 1 has been obtained. Formation constants of the complexes have been determined at four different temperatures from which the enthalpies and entropies of formation of the complexes have been obtained. Moreover, the formation constant of [70]fullerene-2 complex is higher than that of the [60]fullerene-1 and [60]fullerene-2 complexes at all the four temperatures studied. This has been accounted in terms of greater cavity size of 2 which is a calix[6]arene compared to 1 which is a calix[4]arene and also by the fact that a high degree of preorganisation takes place in case of 2 through intramolecular H-bonding at its lower rim.  相似文献

The reaction between 2 equiv of [60]fullerene and 6,8,15,17-tetraphenylheptacene-7,16-quinone leads to both cis and trans-bis[60]fullerene adducts. This result contrasts sharply with the highly diastereoselective syn additions of [60]fullerenes across 6,13-diphenylpentacene and 6,8,15,17-tetraphenylheptacene. The importance of spatially dependent [60]fullerene-[60]fullerene π-stacking interactions in promoting a syn addition of [60]fullerenes is discussed.  相似文献

Photochemically induced electron transfer in homogeneous systems (using triethylamine donor) and heterogeneous systems (using photoexcited TiO2 suspension) was applied in in situ reduction of [60]fullerene. The anion radicals generated were characterized by means of EPR and VIS/near-IR spectroscopy. Narrow EPR lines were found. Radical A with gA=2.0000 and peak-to-peak width, ppA=0.09mT was observed as the primary product; followed by its consecutive product B with gB=2.0006, ppB=0.04mT, and in some cases product C with gC=2.0009 and ppc<0.1 mT. Radical A was assigned to [60]fullerene mono-anion, also characterized by a near-IR band at 1077 nm. B is presumably di-anion or a dimeric form of mono-anion. Identical results were also obtained using cathodic in situ reduction. Applying these generation techniques to [60]fullerene derivatives produced narrow EPR lines analogous to those described for pristine [60]fullerene. This was the case not only in organic solvents, but also in aqueous solutions. The results obtained present a contrast with the original ex situ EPR investigations describing [60]fullerene mono-anion with wide lines. According to the results presented here, the narrow and wide EPR lines do not represent contradictory phenomena, but are an integral part of the relatively complicated manifestations of various fullerene states and both will have to be seriously considered in the future.  相似文献

The AlCl3-catalyzed acetylation of 1,2-hydrophenylated [60]fullerenes, HC60-Ar, proceeded via a sequential manner involving the acetylation at the hydrogenated fullerene carbon, the following intramolecular cyclization with the adjacent aryl group, the facile loss of water, and the second acetylation of the generated indenylidene double bond. However, the similar reaction of the hydrobiphenylated analogue brought about the normal acetylation at the terminal aromatic ring prior to the same sequential reactions as did hydrophenylated fullerenes.  相似文献

The combined electrochemical reduction of fullerene C60 in the presence of p-bromo-benzoyldibromomethane or bis(diisopropoxyphosphoryl)dibromomethane at a brass electrode in a mixed solvent o-dichlorobenzene-MeCN (3:1 v/v)/0.05 M Bu4NBF4 at room temperature affords 61-(p-bromobenzoyl)methano[60]fullerene or 61,61-bis(diisopropoxyphosphoryl)methano[60]fullerene, respectively, in 50% yields.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. This study presents the synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical properties of four new dialkoxymethanofullerenes, as well as their performance in organic solar cells (OSCs) devices. Dialkoxymethanofullerenes were synthesized in 27%–32% yield by thermolysis of dialkoxyoxadiazolines and reaction with C60 under reflux in toluene. The prepared compounds were then characterized and used for the first time as electron-acceptor materials in thin-film bulk heterojunction OSCs with PBTZT-stat-BDTT-8 as the electron donor material. The devices made with ethoxy-hexyloxymethanofullerene and methoxy-hexyloxymethanofullerene exhibited optimal power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 3.79% and 4.65%, with open-circuit voltage of 0.832 and 0.831 V, respectively. In contrast, the devices made with ethoxy-ethoxymethanofullerene and methoxy-ethoxymethanofullerene exhibited very low PCEs of <0.01% for both, indicating a large impact of the substituents on device performance.  相似文献

Water-soluble fullerenes have attracted attention as promising compounds that have been used to forge new paths in the field of photo-biochemistry. To prepare water-soluble fullerenes, we employed lipid-membrane-incorporated fullerenes (LMICx; x=60 or 70) by using the fullerene exchange method from a gamma-cyclodextrin (gamma-CD) cavity to vesicles. LMIC60 have low toxicity in the dark and engender cell death by photoirradiation (lambda>350 nm). Furthermore, the photodynamic activity of LMIC70 is 4.7-fold that of LMIC60 for the same photon flux (lambda>400 nm). One of the reasons for the higher phototoxicity of LMIC70 is the higher generation of singlet oxygen (1O2) in LMIC70 than in LMIC60. The difference between LMIC60 and LMIC70 is considered to be simply derived from the amount of light absorption in the 400-700 nm region that is suitable for photodynamic therapy (PDT). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case in which biological activity of C70 and its derivatives toward HeLa cells has been assayed.  相似文献

2-Pyrazolino[4,5:1,2][60]fullerenes undergo a thermally induced retro-cycloaddition process whose efficiency is influenced by the nature of the C-substituent. C-Aryl-N-Aryl-2-pyrazolino[60]fullerenes (2a-d) poorly undergo a thermal retro-cycloaddition reaction even in the presence of a strong dipolarophile or a metal Lewis acid which, in contrast to other fullerene derivatives, shows their remarkable thermal stability. C-Alkyl-N-Aryl-2-pyrazolino[60]fullerenes (2e-f) show a different behavior, being more vulnerable to the presence of copper triflate and leading to the retro-cycloaddition product (pristine C60) in good yield.  相似文献
