Polymerization of the symmetrical nonconjugated diolefin, N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide, was carried out using peroxodisulphate ion -Fe2+ as redox initiator. The rate of polymerization is found to depend on [M]3/2 and [S2O82?]1/2 and independent of [Fe2+] over a range. A polymerization mechanism involving cyclopolymerization in the propagation step is suggested. Evidence in favor of the cyclopolymerization mechanism is discussed. Evaluation of the rate parameters indicates that the deactivation of the primary radical SO4? by Fe2+ ion is a factor to be reckoned with.  相似文献

1,3,2-Benzimidazaborole, 1,3,2-benzoxaborole, and 1,3,2-benzothiazaborole were synthesized from the corresponding 2-benzazole N(SINGLE BOND)BH3 and 2-benzazole S(SINGLE BOND)BH3 adducts through a reductive transposition from the isolobal fragment X(SINGLE BOND)C(sp2) (DOUBLE BOND) N(sp2) (SINGLE BOND) B(sp3) (X (DOUBLE BOND) N, O, S) to the fragment X(SINGLE BOND)B(sp2) (DOUBLE BOND) N(sp2) (SINGLE BOND) C(sp3). N(SINGLE BOND)BH3 substitution shifts to lower frequencies 4-H, C-3a, and C-7a resonances. The X-ray diffraction analysis of 2-(o-methoxyphenyl)benzothiazole N(SINGLE BOND)BH3 adduct is reported. Two new tetracyclic boron-bridged compounds were observed as by-products (6,9-(ethyl)-diaza-2-oxa-1-bora[3,4,7,8]-dibenzobycyclo[4.3.0]-nona-3,7-diene, 6d, and 8-aza-9-oxa-2-thia-1-bora-[3,4,7,8]dibenzobycyclo[3.4.0]nona-3,7-diene, 15d, when 2-(o-methoxyphenyl)-1-ethylbenzimidazole-BH3 6b and 2-(o-methoxyphenyl)-benzothiazole-BH3 15b adducts were heated. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

An ab initio study on the reaction of the ground state (3D) and the excited state (1D) of Sc+ with methane was performed. Reaction channels on the singlet and triplet potential surface (PES) and the reaction mechanism are examined and discussed. Three regions of the potential surface was studied: the molecular complex, the C(SINGLE BOND)H insertion products, and the transition states for the reaction. Comparisons between singlet and triplet PESs show that the excited state (1D) of Sc+ has more reactivity with methane than does the ground state (3D) due to the spin quantum number conservation with the more stable insertion intermediate. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculation on B Hb←:X interaction (X= N, O, P, S, F, Cl, Br) is performed. HOMO energy predicts the feasibility of such complexation. Steric and electronic effects play significant role on geometry of the complexes. Interaction energy suggests that the interaction is moderately strong (< 5.00 kcal mol−1) in nature and the complexes are stable in both gas and solvent phase. Electron donating group on: X facilitates the interaction whereas electron withdrawing group impedes the same. MP2 and CCSD(T) calculations further confirm the suitability of ωB97X‐D and M06‐2X functional for studying such interactions. Dispersive interaction is the primary mode of interaction in stabilizing the complexes. 1H NMR and IR study are also performed. Thermochemical analysis advocates exothermic nature of complexation.  相似文献

The energetics and reaction path in a series of S(N)2 substitution reactions at square-planar Pt(II) complexes have been studied by the application of density functional theory (DFT). Calculated free energies show excellent correlation with their experimental counterparts, while the enthalpic and entropic contributions individually indicate the presence of weak intermolecular interactions not accounted for in the present model. The nature of the leaving ligand has been shown to be much more significant in determining the activation barrier than that of the entering ligand; it is inferred (and confirmed by analysis of individual bond energies) that the reaction is driven by the dissociation of the leaving ligand, with the entering ligand playing a more passive role. Analysis of the intrinsic reaction coordinate indicates, further, that the trans ligand plays an unexpectedly dynamic role in stabilizing the transition state due to competition between stabilization and the steric effects of the entering and leaving ligands. The cis ligands, by contrast, are shown to move only slightly through the course of the reaction.  相似文献

A series of reactions involving Fe(+) ions were studied by the pulsed laser ablation of an iron target, with detection of ions by quadrupole mass spectrometry at the downstream end of a fast flow tube. The reactions of Fe(+) with N(2)O, N(2) and O(2) were studied in order to benchmark this new technique. Extending measurements of the rate coefficient for Fe(+) + N(2)O from 773 K to 185 K shows that the reaction exhibits marked non-Arrhenius behaviour, which appears to be explained by excitation of the N(2)O bending vibrational modes. The recombination of Fe(+) with CO(2) and H(2)O in He was then studied over a range of pressure and temperature. The data were fitted by RRKM theory combined with ab initio quantum calculations on Fe(+).CO(2) and Fe(+).H(2)O, yielding the following results (120-400 K and 0-10(3) Torr). For Fe(+) + CO(2): k(rec,0) = 1.0 x 10(-29) (T/300 K)(-2.31) cm(6) molecule(-2) s(-1); k(rec,infinity) = 8.1 x 10(-10) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1). For Fe(+) + H(2)O: k(rec,0) = 5.3 x 10(-29) (T/300 K)(-2.02) cm(6) molecule(-2) s(-1); k(rec,infinity) = 2.1 x 10(-9) (T/300 K)(-0.41) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1). The uncertainty in these rate coefficients is determined using a Monte Carlo procedure. A series of exothermic ligand-switching reactions were also studied at 294 K: k(Fe(+).N(2) + O(2)) = (3.17 +/- 0.41) x 10(-10), k(Fe(+).CO(2) + O(2)) = (2.16 +/- 0.35) x 10(-10), k(Fe(+).N(2) + H(2)O) = (1.25 +/- 0.14) x 10(-9) and k(Fe(+).O(2) + H(2)O) = (8.79 +/- 1.30) x 10(-10) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), which are all between 36 and 52% of their theoretical upper limits calculated from long-range capture theory. Finally, the role of these reactions in the chemistry of meteor-ablated iron in the upper atmosphere is discussed. The removal rates of Fe(+) by N(2), O(2), CO(2) and H(2)O at 90 km altitude are approximately 0.1, 0.07, 3 x 10(-4) and 1 x 10(-6) s(-1), respectively. The initially formed Fe(+).N(2) and Fe(+).O(2) are converted into the H(2)O complex at approximately 0.05 s(-1). Fe(+).H(2)O should therefore be the most abundant single-ligand Fe(+) complex in the mesosphere below 90 km.  相似文献

We present a systematic theoretical study of the five smallest oligoacenes (naphthalene, anthracene, tetracene, pentacene, and hexacene) in their anionic, neutral, cationic, and dicationic charge states. We used density functional theory (DFT) to obtain the ground-state optimised geometries, and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) to evaluate the electronic absorption spectra. Total-energy differences enabled us to evaluate the electron affinities and first and second ionisation energies, the quasiparticle correction to the HOMO–LUMO energy gap and an estimate of the excitonic effects in the neutral molecules. Electronic absorption spectra have been computed by combining two different implementations of TD-DFT: the frequency–space method to study general trends as a function of charge-state and molecular size for the lowest-lying in-plane long-polarised and short-polarised π → π* electronic transitions, and the real-time propagation scheme to obtain the whole photo-absorption cross-section up to the far-UV. Doubly ionised PAHs are found to display strong electronic transitions of π → π* character in the near-IR, visible, and near-UV spectral ranges, like their singly charged counterparts. While, as expected, the broad plasmon-like structure with its maximum at about 17–18 eV is relatively insensitive to the charge-state of the molecule, a systematic decrease with increasing positive charge of the absorption cross-section between 6 and 12 eV is observed for each member of the class.  相似文献

The four binuclear copper(II) complexes thus isolated as the new compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, u.v. and i.r. spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and electronic conductivity measurements.     The octahedral title compound, [Ru(C2H5O)(NO)(NO2)2(C6H16N2)], crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group P31 with an ethoxy ligand axially coordinated trans to the nitro­syl ligand. The RuII ion is equatorially coordinated by a tetramethylethylenediamine group acting as a bidentate ligand, and to two nitro moieties whose planes are tilted with respect to the mean equatorial plane.     Spectroscopic constant and molecular properties of CuO? and CuS? in their ground state were studied in detail using hybrid the HF/DF B3LYP density functional method. Four basis sets of Cu, one of them fully uncontracted, were used for this calculation. The basis sets for O and S are correlation consistent basis sets. The basis sets were developed systematically in order to see the effect of basis sets on the spectroscopic properties and also to check the consistency of the calculated properties. The B3LYP spectroscopic properties of CuO? agree very well with the only available experimental values.     The reaction Fe(CN)4(bpy)2? + S2O82? has been studied in aqueous micellar solutions of N‐tetradecyl‐N,N‐dimethyl‐3‐ammonio‐1‐propanesulfonate, SB3‐14. The influence of changes in the surfactant concentration as well as in the peroxodisulfate ions concentration on kobs was investigated. Spectroscopic and conductivity measurements have given information about the distribution of both anionic reagents between the aqueous and micellar pseudophases of the SB3‐14 micellar solutions.     The valence electronic excited states of Fe2(CO)9 have been studied using the time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). Both tribridged D3h and monobridged C2v structures have been considered, and the structure of selected low-lying singlet and triplet excited states have been optimized on the basis of the TDDFT analytical gradient. Optimized excited-state geometries are used to obtain an insight into certain aspects of the Fe2(CO)9 photochemistry. The Fe2(CO)9 (D3h) first triplet and second singlet excited states are unbound with respect to dibridged Fe2(CO)8 + CO, and the first two monobridged Fe2(CO)9 (C2v) singlet states are unbound with respect to the Fe(CO)5 + Fe(CO)4 dissociation. These results are discussed in light of the experimental data available.  相似文献

    We report x-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy studies of the electronic structure of the predissociative α(3) phase of CO bound at hollow sites of Fe(100) as well as of the on-top bound species in the high-coverage α(1) phase. The analysis is supported by density functional calculations of structures and spectra. The bonding of "lying down" CO in the hollow site is well described in terms of π to π? charge transfer made possible through bonding interaction also at the oxygen in the minority spin-channel. The on-top CO in the mixed, high-coverage α(1) phase is found to be tilted due to adsorbate-adsorbate interaction, but still with bonding mainly characteristic of "vertical" on-top adsorbed CO similar to other transition-metal surfaces.  相似文献

    The gas-phase reaction of the NO3 radical with NO2 was investigated, using a flash photolysis-visible absorption technique, over the total pressure range 25–400 Torr of nitrogen or oxygen diluent at 298 ± 2 K. The absolute rate constants determined (in units of 10?13 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) at 25, 100, and 400 Torr total pressure were, respectively, (4.0 ± 0.5), (7.0 ± 0.7), and (10 ± 2) for M = N2 and (4.5 ± 0.5), (8.0 ± 0.4), and (8.8 ± 2.0) for M = O2. These data show that the third-body efficiencies of N2 and O2 are identical, within the error limits, and that previous evaluations for M = N2 are applicable to the atmosphere. In addition, upper limits were determined for the rate constants of the reactions of the NO3 radical with methanol, ethanol, and propan-2-ol of ?6 × 10?16, ?9 × 10?16, and ?2.3 × 10?15 cm3 molecule?1 s?1, respectively, at 298 ± 2 K.  相似文献
