研究了不同畴腐蚀深度的掺镁铌酸锂二维六角可调阵列光分束器的分数Talbot效应.对不同Talbot分数β和不同畴腐蚀深度的阵列光分束器Talbot衍射像进行了数值模拟理论研究.模拟结果表明,Talbot分数β可以改变Talbot衍射像的周期及结构分布,而畴腐蚀深度可有效调制衍射像的光强分布.在理论研究的基础上,设计并制备了具有不同畴腐蚀深度的掺镁铌酸锂二维六角阵列光分束器,对其在不同Talbot分数β条件下的分数Talbot效应进行了通光实验研究,实现了畴腐蚀阵列光分束器对近场Talbot衍射光强分布的调制,实验结果与理论研究结果一致.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication of what we believe is the first example of a two-dimensional (2D) nonlinear photonic crystal [Berger, Phys. Rev. Lett. 81, 4136 (1998)], where the refractive index is constant but where the 2nd order nonlinear susceptibility is spatially periodic. Such crystals allow for efficient quasi-phase-matched 2nd harmonic generation using multiple reciprocal lattice vectors. External 2nd harmonic conversion efficiencies >60% were measured with picosecond pulses. The fabrication technique is extremely versatile and should allow for the fabrication of a broad range of 2D crystals including quasicrystals.  相似文献

The first known demonstration of tunable terahertz-wave generation by difference-frequency generation of dual signal-wave quasi-phase-matched optical parametric oscillation was performed with periodically poled LiNbO(3) (PPLN) with a series of gratings. An organic ionic salt, 4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium-tosylate (DAST), was used as a nonlinear crystal. A compact terahertz-wave source resulted, and changing the temperature of the PPLN permitted the wavelength to be varied from 120 to 160 mum. The wavelength could be tuned from 100 to 700 mum by proper selection of combinations of periodically poled gratings.  相似文献

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) is employed to study the spectral response of lithium niobate crystal. A giant birefringence occurs in lithium niobate crystal in the THz frequency region. We demonstrate that the waveform of the THz wave is controllable by use of the birefringence property of the crystal. We also show experimentally that one THz pulse can be separated into two coherent sub-pulses; the separation as well as the relative intensity of the two sub-pulses are adjustable by changing the crystal orientation with respect to the polarization of the THz beam.  相似文献

This work proposes a feasible method for fabricating a two-dimensional periodic structure with a sub-micrometer periodicity using a single laser beam, based on polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films. The resulting nano-PDLC morphology is highly symmetrical, and similar to that written using multi-beam interference. The increase in the electric-tunability of the optical behavior, including spatial diffraction and color dispersion, is examined. The color dispersion provides optical evidence of the periodic structure of the PDLC film.  相似文献

Expressions are derived for the calculation of the central frequencies f 1,2 0 , and the frequency band f of wide-band anomalous acoustooptic interaction in crystals of arbitrary symmetry class. The effect of the difference between the ray and phase velocities of the diffracted light on the magnitude of f 1,2 0 and f is pointed out. Results are presented of the computed acoustooptic quality factor M2, the frequencies f 1,2 0 , f and the electromechanical coupling constant for the tangential field kD for cuts of LiNbO3 crystals ensuring maximum diffraction efficiency. It is shown that the maximum M2=22.10–18 cgs units in this crystal is attained in the case of anomalous light diffraction by the slow shear wave propagating in the Y-120 direction. To the same cut there corresponds the maximum KD=0.685. The design of anomalous acoustooptic deflectors developed is described. We report on the demonstration of surface-emitted terahertz- (THz-) wave difference-frequency generation from two-dimensional (2D) periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN). The two orthogonal periodic structures individually compensate for both the phase mismatch of the launched lasers and the generated THz wave. Tunable 1.5-1.8 THz wave generation with a bandwidth of 10-GHz was obtained by use of two 2D PPLN crystals. We also confirmed that THz waves were simultaneously generated into two opposite directions, which suggests the possibility of higher THz-wave output power.  相似文献

本文建立了外加电场调制二维六角位相阵列光分束器的倒格矢理论模型, 利用数值模拟方法开展了阵列光分束器的理论研究, 对可调位相差阵列光分束器进行了分析, 得到了不同分数泰伯距离以及外加电场条件下的光强分布图. 实验设计与制备了铌酸锂二维六角位相阵列光分束器, 并对其进行了Talbot衍射光分束实验研究, 当外加电压为0.5 kV(电场为1 kV/mm)时, 观测到了Talbot衍射光分束现象, 随着外加调制电场的增大, 其衍射光分束图像越清晰, 该实验结果和理论研究结果相符.  相似文献

Using the methods of photorefractive and Raman light scattering, we study subtle features of the structure of LiNbO3 single crystals with different Li/Nb ratios (pure and doped with nonphotorefractive cations) grown by different methods. We reveal that, upon the irradiation of a single crystal with visible laser light, locally fluctuating micro- and nanostructures are initially formed in it, with their physical parameters being different from the corresponding parameters of the single crystal in the absence of the photorefractive effect. Upon an increase in the irradiation intensity and in the course of time, more and more such micro-structures are formed, and they are transformed into static micro- and nanoformations, which are subsequently converted into a continuous laser track. The speckle structure of photorefractive scattering is studied in detail. We show that the photorefractive effect in single crystals of the stoichiometric composition is fairly strong for their use as materials for recording and storing information.  相似文献

The focused visible laser-induced preferential domain nucleation effect is investigated in 3 mol% hafnium-doped congruent lithium niobate crystal. The local phase variation is in-situ monitored during laser-induced preferential domain nucleation. The variations of phase distributions are reconstructed by digital holographic interferometry. The nucleation field decreases exponentially with increasing irradiation intensity. The space charge field along the z direction is thought to be an important mechanism for the laser-induced preferential domain nucleation. Laser-induced hafnium-doped congruent lithium niobate crystals appear to be a promising candidate for further development of ferroelectric domain engineering.  相似文献

Electric-field-controlled two-dimensional Raman-Nath diffraction has been realized using a photorefractive diffraction grating. The grating was produced by two-wave coupling (at a wavelength of 632.8 nm) at small incidence angles using a potassium lithium tantalate niobate single crystal. Results for the Raman-Nath diffraction from the g44 grating are presented, in which the externally applied field is perpendicular to both the grating vector and the wave vector of the incident beam. Two pairs of coherent beams were used to record the grating for two-dimensional Raman-Nath diffraction. The wave vector and the polarization of one pair lay in the (x, z) plane, and those of the other pair lay in the (y, z) plane. The influence of the applied electric field was studied, and the results show that the intensity of the Raman-Nath diffraction could be controlled by the direction and intensity of the applied field.  相似文献

设计了一种由涂有硬质材料涂层的柱状压电散射体周期性连接在四个环氧树脂薄板上构成的具有大带宽的新型二维压电声子晶体板,并利用有限元方法计算了该声子晶体板的能带结构、传输损失谱和位移矢量场.研究表明:与二组元材料构成的传统声子晶体板相比,新设计的声子晶体板的第一完全带隙频率更低,并且带宽扩大了5倍;通过在压电体表面上施加不同的电边界条件,可以实现多条完全带隙的主动调控;压电效应对能带结构有很大的影响,并且有利于完全带隙的扩大与形成.基于带隙的可调谐性,分析了可切换路径的压电声子晶体板波导,结果表明可以通过改变电边界条件来限制弹性波能量流.  相似文献

In this study, we investigate the emission from a photonic crystal (PC) structure fabricated in Er-doped LiNbO3 crystal. We report the linear, non-linear, and saturated output intensity as the pumping power is increased. The measurements are taken inside the PC and on the bulk substrate. Angular-multiplexed hologram recording in iron-doped lithium niobate crystals was carried out with near-infrared light. An incremental recording schedule with active phase locking of the light pattern onto the hologram was used. Continuous and reproducible recording of holograms of equal efficiency was achieved, and a hologram multiplexing number, M/#=2 , for a 5-mm-thick crystal was obtained at a 760-nm wavelength of light.  相似文献

For the purpose of elucidating the mechanisms for molecular organization at poled ferroelectric surfaces, single crystalline lithium niobate (LN), ‘Z-cut’ along the (0 0 0 1) plane, has been prepared and characterized and subsequently exposed to liquid crystal molecules. As a model system we chose to study the anchoring of 4-n-octyl-4′-cyanobiphenyl (8CB) to LN. Liquid crystalline films are of interest because of their useful electronic and optical properties as well as chemical sensing attributes. Low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), atomic force microscopy (AFM), surface contact angle measurements (CA), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize the surface of lithium niobate as well as the nature of 8CB films grown on the surface. Atomically flat LN surfaces were prepared as a support for monolayer thick, 8CB molecular domains. 8CB liquid crystal molecules were deposited by an ambient vaporization technique and the films were analyzed using XPS and CA. Understanding electrostatic anchoring mechanisms and thin film organization for this molecule on uniformly poled surfaces allows for a fuller appreciation of how molecular deposition of other polarizable molecules on periodically poled and patterned poled lithium niobate surfaces would occur.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a polarization diversity two-dimensional grating coupler based on the lithium niobate on insulator platform, for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The optimization design, performance characteristics,and fabrication tolerance of the two-dimensional grating coupler are thoroughly analyzed utilizing the three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method. Experimentally,-7.2 d B of coupling efficiency is achieved with 1 d B bandwidth of64 nm. The polarization-dependent loss is about 0.4 d B around 1550 nm. Our work provides new polarization multiplexing approaches for the lithium niobate on insulator platform, paving the way for critical applications such as high-speed polarization multiplexed electro-optical modulators.  相似文献
