Two proton radioactivity studies have been performed on excited states of 18Ne produced, among other fragments, by 20Ne projectile fragmentation and excited via Coulomb excitation on a Pb target. Every incoming ion was tagged before interacting with the lead target on an event by event basis in order to discriminate the secondary reactions according to the projectile. Decay of 18Ne levels has been studied by complete kinematical reconstruction. In spite of the low statistics a couple of events looks very promising for two proton correlated emission.  相似文献

Experimental data on the momentum distributions of 4He nuclei originating from 6He and 6Li breakup on various targets are presented over a wide beam energy range. The experiment with 6He was performed at the DRIBs accelerator complex for radioactive beams at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna). The intensity of the 6He beam used was 5 × 106 particles per second and its energy was 10 MeV per nucleon. The momentum distributions of breakup products were measured by means of the MSP-144 magnetic spectrometer. The distribution width was shown to be virtually independent of the target mass. A small value of this width, σ ~ 28 MeV/c, confirms the presence of a halo in 6He. The measurements performed with 6Li beams of energy 18 and 46 MeV per nucleon at the U-400M accelerator yielded a width value of σ ~ 50 MeV/c for the momentum distributions of 4He nuclei, which is intermediate between that for 6He and those for stable nuclei. A compilation of the widths of the momentum distributions of fragments originating from the breakup of various nuclei is presented versus the binding energy of one or two neutrons in these nuclei, the target mass and the projectile energy.  相似文献

A theory of the diffractive scattering of loosely bound three-cluster nuclei by nuclei was developed with allowance for Coulomb interaction. The differential cross sections for the scattering of projectile exotic nuclei 7Be and 8B by 12C nuclei at an energy of 40 MeV per nucleon were calculated within the proposed formalism. The results describe satisfactorily relevant experimental data.  相似文献

We have studied the properties of the relativistic helium fragments emitted from the projectile in the interactions of 24Mg ions accelerated at an energy of 3.7 A GeV with emulsion nuclei. The total, partial nuclear cross-sections and production rates of helium fragmentation channels in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions and their dependence on the mass and energy of the incident projectile nucleus are investigated. The yields of multiple helium projectile fragments disrupted from the interactions of 24Mg projectile nuclei with hydrogen H, light CNO and heavy AgBr groups of target emulsion nuclei are discussed and they indicate that the breakup mechanism of the projectile seems to be independent of the target mass. Limiting fragmentation behavior of fast-moving helium fragments is observed in both the projectile and target nuclei. The multiplicity distributions of helium projectile fragments emitted in the interactions of 24Mg projectile nuclei with the different target nuclei of the emulsion are well described by the KNO scaling presentation. The mean multiplicities of the different charged secondary particles, normally defined shower, grey and black ( ns, ng and nb) emitted in the interactions of 3.7 A GeV 24Mg with the different groups of emulsion nuclei at different ranges of projectile fragments are decreasing when the number of He fragments stripped from projectile increases. These values of ni ( i = s, g, b and h particles) in the events where the emission of fast helium fragments were accompanied by heavy fragments having Z 3 seem to be constant as the He multiplicity increases, and exhibit a behavior independent of the He multiplicity.  相似文献

Kinetic-energy spectra and angular distribution of projectile-like fragments have been measured in the reaction of 84 MeV 12C on 169Tm, using the surface barrier silicon-based ΔE-E telescopes. The fragments close to the projectile show typical spectra of quasi-elastic transfer reactions, which were found to be in agreement with the calculations based on the direct surface transfer reaction model. A significant cross-section of fast alpha-particles was found at forward angles, reminiscent of incomplete fusion reactions, which could be explained in terms of the direct surface transfer reaction model after taking into account the level density of continuum states in the heavy reaction product. The results have been explained in terms of the continuous evolution of the reaction mechanism as a function of the mass transfer. Received: 13 March 2002 / Accepted: 3 May 2002  相似文献

100-keV 10B+ ions were implanted into photoresist in different directions at a fluence of 1×1014 cm-2, and their depth distribution was determined by means of the neutron depth profiling technique. In no case were the projectile ions found to come to rest according to their predicted implantation profiles. Instead, they are always found to undergo considerable long-range migration. During the irradiation process this motion appears to be enhanced by the radiation damage, and during the subsequent annealing steps one deals with thermal diffusion. The implant redistribution is always found to be governed strongly by the self-created damage, insofar as both electronic and nuclear defects in the polymer act as trapping centers. The implant redistribution shows a pronounced directional dependence, essentially as a consequence of the spatial distribution of the electronic energy loss. The changes of the nuclear defect distribution during thermal annealing are studied by a specially developed tomographic method in three dimensions. Excited states of 68Ga have been investigated through the 55Mn(16O, 2pn) reaction at projectile energy 55 MeV. The level scheme has been extended up to 7.8 MeV. Altogether six new excited levels could be identified and twelve previously unobserved γ-transitions have been placed in the modified level scheme. Using the slow highly charged ions 129Xe q+ (q = 25, 26, 27; initial kinetic T 0⩽4.65 keV/a.u.) to impact Au surface, the Au atomic Mα characteristic X-ray spectrum is induced. The result shows that as long as the charge state of projectile is high enough, the heavy atomic characteristic X-ray can be effectively excited even though the incident beam is very weak (nA magnitude), and the X-ray yield per ion is in the order of 10−8 and increases with the kinetic energy and potential energy of projectile. By measuring the Au Mα-X-ray spectra, Au atomic N-level lifetime is estimated at about 1.33×10−18 s based on Heisenberg uncertainty relation. The observation of three events for the decay Σ+→pμ+μ- with a dimuon invariant mass of 214.3 ± 0.5 MeV by the HyperCP Collaboration implies that a new particle X may be needed to explain the observed dimuon invariant mass distribution. We show that there are regions in the SUSY-FCNC parameter space where the A0 1 in the NMSSM can be used to explain the HyperCP events without contradicting all the existing constraints from the measurements of the kaon decays, and the constraints from K0–K̄0 mixing are automatically satisfied once the constraints from kaon decays are satisfied. The fragmentation of deuteron, 6He and 11Be have been studied during interaction with the 208Pb nucleus at various projectile energies. The Coulomb dissociation cross-sections and the momentum distribution of the break-up fragments have been analysed within the framework of the direct fragmentation model. The post-acceleration effect of deuteron during break-up and the halo structures of both the 6He and 11Be have been investigated.   相似文献

We have calculated the one-neutron absorption cross-section and the longitudinal momentum distribution of the core fragment coming out from the breakup of 11Be and 19C on 9Be target at 63 MeV/A and 88 MeV/A beam energies respectively. The reaction mechanism is treated within the framework of the eikonal approximation. The effective range of the nuclear interaction between the core and the valence neutron within the projectile has been determined by comparing the predicted stripping cross-section with the recently measured one. The effective range for 19C has been found to be smaller than that for 11Be. It qualitatively indicates that 19C is slightly more halo than 11Be. The smaller width, predicted as well as measured, of the LMD of 18C than 10Be also strengthens this fact. The experimental data concerning the LMD of core fragments have been well represented.   相似文献

The energy dependence of the total cross sections for the 6He + Si and 9Li + Si reactions was measured at beam energies between 5 and 20 MeV per nucleon. The results agree with experimental data published for the 6He + Si reaction. New data are obtained for the 9Li + Si reaction in the vicinity of a local enhancement of the total cross section. A theoretical analysis of the possible reasons behind the appearance of this peculiarity in the case of collisions of 6He and 9Li nuclei with silicon target nuclei is performed. In particular, the enhancement may owe its origin to the effect of loosely bound projectile nucleons.  相似文献

For the determination of the bound-electron g factor in hydrogen-like heavy ions the mass of the ion is needed at a relative uncertainty of at least 1 ppb. With the SMILETRAP Penning trap mass spectrometer at the Manne Siegbahn Laboratory in Stockholm several mass measurements of ions with even-even nuclei at this level of precision have been performed so far, exploiting the fact that the mass precision increases linearly with the ion charge. Measurements of masses of the hydrogen-like ions of the two Mg-isotopes 24Mg and 26Mg are reported. The masses of the hydrogen-like ions are 23.979011054(14) u and 25.976562354(34) u, corresponding to the atomic masses 23.985041690(14) u and 25.982592986(34) u, respectively. The possibility to use these two isotopes for the first observation of an isotope effect in the bound-electron g factor in hydrogen-like heavy ions is discussed.  相似文献

V-5Ga-6Cr and V-5Ga-0.05Ce vanadium alloys irradiated by Ar+ and N+ ions with energies of 20 keV have been investigated. Irradiation by Ar+ and N+ ions leads to strengthening of the surface layers of samples. Their thicknesses exceed the projectile ranges of these ions (16.4 and 32.8 nm, respectively) in vanadium by more than two orders of magnitude. The experimentally determined penetration depth of argon ions is less that 70 nm. The sample side irradiated by Ar+ ions has a predominant orientation of crystallites in the (100) and (211) planes, while the unirradiated sample has a (110) surface. The lattice parameter of the irradiated sample does not differ from that of the initial sample. Possible mechanisms by which modified deep layers are formed during ion bombardment are discussed.  相似文献

Excited states in 182Os were populated by the β+/EC decay of 182Ir following mass separation. Gamma-ray and conversion electron spectroscopy techniques were employed. Monopole (E0) contributions were determined in transitions populating the ground-state band. A systematic study of the low-spin structures in the Os isotopes is presented and a detailed analysis in the framework of a microscopic configuration mixing approach is performed.  相似文献

We present deuteron and triton spectra measured at 12 laboratory angles from the reaction of 50 MeV 7Li on 56Fe together with evaporative components as modeled by CASCADE and fitted to the backward angle data. The deuteron and triton “break-up” spectra obtained by subtracting the evaporative components from the measured spectra are also presented. The break-up of the 7Li projectile near the surface occurs with high probability and the major fraction of the break-up cross-section is taken by (7Li,α) transfer process. A crude estimate of the fraction of the total cross-section is found to be of the same order of magnitude as the overall spectroscopic factor determined by the diffraction model. The value of the estimated fraction of total cross section at 50 MeV incident energy is compared to that at 68 MeV incident energy for the same reaction. However, these values of estimated fraction of total cross section are found very much consistent with the measured yields at both incident energies. The importance of the level density parameter in locating the maximum of excitation energy is indicated in the diffraction model.  相似文献

Passage of beamstrahlung photons through the bunch fields at the interaction point of the ILC determines background pair production. The number of background pairs per bunch crossing due to the Breit-Wheeler, Bethe-Heitler and Landau-Lifshitz processes is well-known. However, the Breit-Wheeler process also takes place in and is modified by the bunch fields. A full QED calculation of this stimulated Breit-Wheeler process reveals cross-section resonances due to the virtual particle reaching the mass shell. The one-loop electron self-energy in the bunch field is also calculated and included as a radiative correction. The bunch field is considered to be a constant crossed electromagnetic field with associated bunch field photons. Resonance is found to occur whenever the energy of contributed bunch field photons is equal to the beamstrahlung photon energy. The stimulated Breit-Wheeler cross-section exceeds the ordinary Breit-Wheeler cross-section by several orders of magnitude and a significantly different pair background may result.   相似文献

Calculations of production cross sections for isotopes 194Au in the 3He + 194Pt reaction and 45Ti in the 3He + 45Sc reaction are performed, based on the solution to a time-dependent Schrödinger equation in combination with calculations in the statistical model using the computational code of the NRV data base. The experimental differences in the near-barrier energy dependences of the isotope production cross sections in these reactions are explained by the difference between the proton and neutron shells of the target nuclei, and by the different evolutions of the probability density for protons of the projectile nucleus and neutrons of the target nuclei in collisions.  相似文献

A microscopic formalism for describing observed cross sections for deuteron breakup by threenucleon nuclei was developed on the basis of the diffraction nuclear model. A general formula that describes the amplitude for the reaction 2H(3He, 3Hep)n and which involves only one adjustable parameter was obtained by using expansions of the integrands involved in terms of a Gaussian basis. This formula was used to analyze experimental data on the exclusive cross sections for deuteron breakup by 3He nuclei at the projectile energy of 89.4MeV. The importance of employing, in calculations, a deuteron wave function that has a correct asymptotic behavior at large nucleon–nucleon distances was demonstrated.  相似文献
