Denoising has to do with estimating a signal \(\mathbf {x}_0\) from its noisy observations \(\mathbf {y}=\mathbf {x}_0+\mathbf {z}\). In this paper, we focus on the “structured denoising problem,” where the signal \(\mathbf {x}_0\) possesses a certain structure and \(\mathbf {z}\) has independent normally distributed entries with mean zero and variance \(\sigma ^2\). We employ a structure-inducing convex function \(f(\cdot )\) and solve \(\min _\mathbf {x}\{\frac{1}{2}\Vert \mathbf {y}-\mathbf {x}\Vert _2^2+\sigma {\lambda }f(\mathbf {x})\}\) to estimate \(\mathbf {x}_0\), for some \(\lambda >0\). Common choices for \(f(\cdot )\) include the \(\ell _1\) norm for sparse vectors, the \(\ell _1-\ell _2\) norm for block-sparse signals and the nuclear norm for low-rank matrices. The metric we use to evaluate the performance of an estimate \(\mathbf {x}^*\) is the normalized mean-squared error \(\text {NMSE}(\sigma )=\frac{{\mathbb {E}}\Vert \mathbf {x}^*-\mathbf {x}_0\Vert _2^2}{\sigma ^2}\). We show that NMSE is maximized as \(\sigma \rightarrow 0\) and we find the exact worst-case NMSE, which has a simple geometric interpretation: the mean-squared distance of a standard normal vector to the \({\lambda }\)-scaled subdifferential \({\lambda }\partial f(\mathbf {x}_0)\). When \({\lambda }\) is optimally tuned to minimize the worst-case NMSE, our results can be related to the constrained denoising problem \(\min _{f(\mathbf {x})\le f(\mathbf {x}_0)}\{\Vert \mathbf {y}-\mathbf {x}\Vert _2\}\). The paper also connects these results to the generalized LASSO problem, in which one solves \(\min _{f(\mathbf {x})\le f(\mathbf {x}_0)}\{\Vert \mathbf {y}-{\mathbf {A}}\mathbf {x}\Vert _2\}\) to estimate \(\mathbf {x}_0\) from noisy linear observations \(\mathbf {y}={\mathbf {A}}\mathbf {x}_0+\mathbf {z}\). We show that certain properties of the LASSO problem are closely related to the denoising problem. In particular, we characterize the normalized LASSO cost and show that it exhibits a “phase transition” as a function of number of observations. We also provide an order-optimal bound for the LASSO error in terms of the mean-squared distance. Our results are significant in two ways. First, we find a simple formula for the performance of a general convex estimator. Secondly, we establish a connection between the denoising and linear inverse problems.  相似文献

The paper concerns investigations of holomorphic functions of several complex variables with a factorization of their Temljakov transform. Firstly, there were considered some inclusions between the families \(\mathcal {C}_{\mathcal {G}},\mathcal {M}_{\mathcal {G}},\mathcal {N}_{\mathcal {G}},\mathcal {R}_{\mathcal {G}},\mathcal {V}_{\mathcal {G}}\) of such holomorphic functions on complete n-circular domain \(\mathcal {G}\) of \(\mathbb {C}^{n}\) in some papers of Bavrin, Fukui, Higuchi, Michiwaki. A motivation of our investigations is a condensation of the mentioned inclusions by some new families of Bavrin’s type. Hence we consider some families \(\mathcal {K}_{ \mathcal {G}}^{k},k\ge 2,\) of holomorphic functions f :  \(\mathcal {G}\rightarrow \mathbb {C},f(0)=1,\) defined also by a factorization of \( \mathcal {L}f\) onto factors from \(\mathcal {C}_{\mathcal {G}}\) and \(\mathcal {M} _{\mathcal {G}}.\) We present some interesting properties and extremal problems on \(\mathcal {K}_{\mathcal {G}}^{k}\).  相似文献

The Hilbert space \(\mathcal {D}_{2}\) is the space of all holomorphic functions f defined on the open unit disc \(\mathbb {D}\) such that \({f}^{'}\) is in the Hardy Hilbert space \(\mathbf {H}^2.\) In this paper, we prove that the invariant subspaces of \(\mathcal {D}_{2}\) with respect to multiplication operator \(M_{z}\) can be approximated with finite co-dimensional invariant subspaces. We also obtain a partial result in this direction for the classical Dirichlet space.  相似文献

Let k be a commutative ring, \(\mathcal {A}\) and \(\mathcal {B}\) – two k-linear categories with an action of a group G. We introduce the notion of a standard G-equivalence from \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {B}\) to \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {A}\), where \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {A}\) is the homotopy category of finitely generated projective \(\mathcal {A}\)-complexes. We construct a map from the set of standard G-equivalences to the set of standard equivalences from \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {B}\) to \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {A}\) and a map from the set of standard G-equivalences from \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {B}\) to \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}\mathcal {A}\) to the set of standard equivalences from \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}(\mathcal {B}/G)\) to \(\mathcal {K}_{p}^{\mathrm {b}}(\mathcal {A}/G)\), where \(\mathcal {A}/G\) denotes the orbit category. We investigate the properties of these maps and apply our results to the case where \(\mathcal {A}=\mathcal {B}=R\) is a Frobenius k-algebra and G is the cyclic group generated by its Nakayama automorphism ν. We apply this technique to obtain the generating set of the derived Picard group of a Frobenius Nakayama algebra over an algebraically closed field.  相似文献

We prove a dichotomy between absolute continuity and singularity of the Ginibre point process \(\mathsf {G}\) and its reduced Palm measures \(\{\mathsf {G}_{\mathbf {x}}, \mathbf {x} \in \mathbb {C}^{\ell }, \ell = 0,1,2\ldots \}\), namely, reduced Palm measures \(\mathsf {G}_{\mathbf {x}}\) and \(\mathsf {G}_{\mathbf {y}}\) for \(\mathbf {x} \in \mathbb {C}^{\ell }\) and \(\mathbf {y} \in \mathbb {C}^{n}\) are mutually absolutely continuous if and only if \(\ell = n\); they are singular each other if and only if \(\ell \not = n\). Furthermore, we give an explicit expression of the Radon–Nikodym density \(d\mathsf {G}_{\mathbf {x}}/d \mathsf {G}_{\mathbf {y}}\) for \(\mathbf {x}, \mathbf {y} \in \mathbb {C}^{\ell }\).  相似文献

In this paper, we solve a long standing problem on the modulation spaces, \(\alpha \)-modulation spaces and Besov spaces. We establish sharp conditions for the complex interpolation between these function spaces. We show that no \(\alpha \)-modulation space \(M_{p,q}^{s,\alpha }\) can be regarded as the interpolation space between \(M_{p_1,q_1}^{s_1,\alpha _1}\) and \(M_{p_2,q_2}^{s_2,\alpha _2}\), unless \(\alpha _1\) is equal to \(\alpha _2\), essentially. Especially, our results show that the \(\alpha \)-modulation spaces can not be obtained by complex interpolation between modulation spaces and Besov spaces.  相似文献

This paper concerns with the heat equation in the half-space \(\mathbb {R}_{+}^{n}\) with nonlinearity and singular potential on the boundary \(\partial \mathbb {R}_{+}^{n}\). We show a well-posedness result that allows us to consider critical potentials with infinite many singularities and anisotropy. Motivated by potential profiles of interest, the analysis is performed in weak L p -spaces in which we prove linear estimates for some boundary operators arising from the Duhamel integral formulation in \(\mathbb {R}_{+}^{n}\). Moreover, we investigate qualitative properties of solutions like self-similarity, positivity and symmetry around the axis \(\overrightarrow {Ox_{n}}\).  相似文献

Let \(\pi _{\varphi }\) (or \(\pi _{\psi }\)) be an automorphic cuspidal representation of \(\text {GL}_{2} (\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\) associated to a primitive Maass cusp form \(\varphi \) (or \(\psi \)), and \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\) be the jth symmetric power lift of \(\pi _{\varphi }\). Let \(a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)\) denote the nth Dirichlet series coefficient of the principal L-function associated to \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\). In this paper, we study first moments of Dirichlet series coefficients of automorphic representations \(\mathrm{sym}^3 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{4}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\), and \(\pi _{\psi }\otimes \mathrm{sym}^2 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{6}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\). For \(3 \le j \le 8\), estimates for \(|a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)|\) on average over a short interval have also been established.  相似文献

We consider colorings of the pairs of a family \(\mathcal {F}\subseteq {{\mathrm{FIN}}}\) of topological type \(\omega ^{\omega ^k}\), for \(k>1\); and we find a homogeneous family \(\mathcal {G}\subseteq \mathcal {F}\) for each coloring. As a consequence, we complete our study of the partition relation \({\forall l>1,\, \alpha \rightarrow ({{\mathrm{top}}}\;\omega ^2+1)^2_{l,m}}\) identifying \(\omega ^{\omega ^\omega }\) as the smallest ordinal space \(\alpha <\omega _1\) satisfying \({\forall l>1,\, \alpha \rightarrow ({{\mathrm{top}}}\;\omega ^2+1)^2_{l,4}}\).  相似文献

Given a smooth, symmetric and homogeneous of degree one function \(f\left( \lambda _{1},\ldots ,\lambda _{n}\right) \) satisfying \(\partial _{i}f>0\quad \forall \,i=1,\ldots , n\), and a properly embedded smooth cone \({\mathcal {C}}\) in \({\mathbb {R}}^{n+1}\), we show that under suitable conditions on f, there is at most one f self-shrinker (i.e. a hypersurface \(\Sigma \) in \({\mathbb {R}}^{n+1}\) satisfying \(f\left( \kappa _{1},\ldots ,\kappa _{n}\right) +\frac{1}{2}X\cdot N=0\), where \(\kappa _{1},\ldots ,\kappa _{n}\) are principal curvatures of \(\Sigma \)) that is asymptotic to the given cone \({\mathcal {C}}\) at infinity.  相似文献

In Advances in Mathematical Physics (2011) we showed that the weighted shift \(z^{p}\frac{d^{p+1}}{dz^{p+1}} (p=0, 1, 2,\ldots )\) acting on classical Bargmann space \(\mathbb {B}_{p}\) is chaotic operator. In Journal of Mathematical physics (2014), we constructed an chaotic weighted shift \(\mathbb {M}^{*^{p}}\mathbb {M}^{p+1} (p=0, 1, 2,\ldots )\) on some lattice Fock–Bargmann \(\mathbb {E}_{p}^{\alpha }\) generated by the orthonormal basis \( {e_{m}^{(\alpha ,p)}(z) = e_{m}^{\alpha } ; m=p, p+1,\ldots }\) where \( {e_{m}^{\alpha }(z) = (\frac{2\nu }{\pi })^{1/4}e^{\frac{\nu }{2}z^{2}}e^{-\frac{\pi ^{2}}{\nu }(m +\alpha )^{2} +2i\pi (m +\alpha )z}; m \in \mathbb {N}}\) with \(\nu , \alpha \) are real numbers; \(\nu > 0\), \(\mathbb {M}\) is an weighted shift and \(\mathbb {M^{*}}\) is the adjoint of the \(\mathbb {M}\). In this paper we study the chaoticity of tensor product \(\mathbb {M}^{*^{p}}\mathbb {M}^{p+1}\otimes z^{p}\frac{d^{p}}{dz^{p+1}} (p=0, 1, 2, \ldots )\) acting on \(\mathbb {E}_{p}^{\alpha }\otimes \mathbb {B}_{p}\).  相似文献

As the class \(\mathcal {PCSL}\) of pseudocomplemented semilattices is a universal Horn class generated by a single finite structure it has a \(\aleph _0\)-categorical model companion \(\mathcal {PCSL}^*\). As \(\mathcal {PCSL}\) is inductive the models of \(\mathcal {PCSL}^*\) are exactly the existentially closed models of \(\mathcal {PCSL}\). We will construct the unique existentially closed countable model of \(\mathcal {PCSL}\) as a direct limit of algebraically closed pseudocomplemented semilattices.  相似文献

Using limiting interpolation techniques we study the relationship between Besov spaces \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/q}_{p,q}\) with zero classical smoothness and logarithmic smoothness \(-1/q\) defined by means of differences with similar spaces \(B^{0,b,d}_{p,q}\) defined by means of the Fourier transform. Among other things, we prove that \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/2}_{2,2}=B^{0,0,1/2}_{2,2}\). We also derive several results on periodic spaces \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/q}_{p,q}(\mathbb {T})\), including embeddings in generalized Lorentz–Zygmund spaces and the distribution of Fourier coefficients of functions of \(\mathbf B ^{0,-1/q}_{p,q}(\mathbb {T})\).  相似文献

Given a model \(\mathcal {M}\) of set theory, and a nontrivial automorphism j of \(\mathcal {M}\), let \(\mathcal {I}_{\mathrm {fix}}(j)\) be the submodel of \(\mathcal {M}\) whose universe consists of elements m of \(\mathcal {M}\) such that \(j(x)=x\) for every x in the transitive closure of m (where the transitive closure of m is computed within \(\mathcal {M}\)). Here we study the class \(\mathcal {C}\) of structures of the form \(\mathcal {I}_{\mathrm {fix}}(j)\), where the ambient model \(\mathcal {M}\) satisfies a frugal yet robust fragment of \(\mathrm {ZFC}\) known as \(\mathrm {MOST}\), and \(j(m)=m\) whenever m is a finite ordinal in the sense of \(\mathcal {M}.\) Our main achievement is the calculation of the theory of \(\mathcal {C}\) as precisely \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm {Collection}\). The following theorems encapsulate our principal results: Theorem A. Every structure in \(\mathcal {C}\) satisfies \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm { Collection}\). Theorem B. Each of the following three conditions is sufficient for a countable structure \(\mathcal {N}\) to be in \(\mathcal {C}\):(a) \(\mathcal {N}\) is a transitive model of \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm {Collection}\).(b) \(\mathcal {N}\) is a recursively saturated model of \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm {Collection}\).(c) \(\mathcal {N}\) is a model of \(\mathrm {ZFC}\). Theorem C. Suppose \(\mathcal {M}\) is a countable recursively saturated model of \(\mathrm {ZFC}\) and I is a proper initial segment of \(\mathrm {Ord}^{\mathcal {M}}\) that is closed under exponentiation and contains \(\omega ^\mathcal {M}\) . There is a group embedding \(j\longmapsto \check{j}\) from \(\mathrm {Aut}(\mathbb {Q})\) into \(\mathrm {Aut}(\mathcal {M})\) such that I is the longest initial segment of \(\mathrm {Ord}^{\mathcal {M}}\) that is pointwise fixed by \(\check{j}\) for every nontrivial \(j\in \mathrm {Aut}(\mathbb {Q}).\) In Theorem C, \(\mathrm {Aut}(X)\) is the group of automorphisms of the structure X, and \(\mathbb {Q}\) is the ordered set of rationals.  相似文献

Let \(X, X_{1}, X_{2}, \ldots \) be i.i.d. random variables, and set \(S_{n}=X_{1}+\cdots +X_{n}\) and \( V_{n}^{2}=X_{1}^{2}+\cdots +X_{n}^{2}.\) Without any moment conditions on \(X\), assuming that \(\{S_{n}/V_{n}\}\) is tight, we establish convergence of series of the type (*) \(\sum \nolimits _{n}w_{n}P(\left| S_{n}\right| /V_{n}\ge \varepsilon b_{n}),\) \(\varepsilon >0.\) Then, assuming that \(X\) is symmetric and belongs to the domain of attraction of a stable law, and choosing \(w_{n}\) and \(b_{n}\) suitably\(,\) we derive the precise asymptotic behavior of the series (*) as \(\varepsilon \searrow 0. \)  相似文献

We consider the Laplacian with attractive Robin boundary conditions,
$$\begin{aligned} Q^\Omega _\alpha u=-\Delta u, \quad \dfrac{\partial u}{\partial n}=\alpha u \text { on } \partial \Omega , \end{aligned}$$
in a class of bounded smooth domains \(\Omega \in \mathbb {R}^\nu \); here \(n\) is the outward unit normal and \(\alpha >0\) is a constant. We show that for each \(j\in \mathbb {N}\) and \(\alpha \rightarrow +\infty \), the \(j\)th eigenvalue \(E_j(Q^\Omega _\alpha )\) has the asymptotics
$$\begin{aligned} E_j(Q^\Omega _\alpha )=-\alpha ^2 -(\nu -1)H_\mathrm {max}(\Omega )\,\alpha +{\mathcal O}(\alpha ^{2/3}), \end{aligned}$$
where \(H_\mathrm {max}(\Omega )\) is the maximum mean curvature at \(\partial \Omega \). The discussion of the reverse Faber-Krahn inequality gives rise to a new geometric problem concerning the minimization of \(H_\mathrm {max}\). In particular, we show that the ball is the strict minimizer of \(H_\mathrm {max}\) among the smooth star-shaped domains of a given volume, which leads to the following result: if \(B\) is a ball and \(\Omega \) is any other star-shaped smooth domain of the same volume, then for any fixed \(j\in \mathbb {N}\) we have \(E_j(Q^B_\alpha )>E_j(Q^\Omega _\alpha )\) for large \(\alpha \). An open question concerning a larger class of domains is formulated.

In this work, we solve the system of Laguerre–Freud equations for the recurrence coefficients \(\beta _n\), \(\gamma _{n+1} , n \ge 0\) of the \(D_{w}\)-semi-classical orthogonal polynomials sequences of class one in the case when \(\beta _{0}=-t_{0}\), \(\beta _{n+1}=t_{n}-t_{n+1}\) and \(\gamma _{n+1}=-t_{n}^{2}\) with \(t_{n}\ne 0\;n\ge 0\), where \(D_w\) is the divided difference operator. There are essentially four canonical families.  相似文献

We consider the problem
$$\begin{aligned} -\Delta u+\left( V_{\infty }+V(x)\right) u=|u|^{p-2}u,\quad u\in H_{0} ^{1}(\Omega ), \end{aligned}$$
where \(\Omega \) is either \(\mathbb {R}^{N}\) or a smooth domain in \(\mathbb {R} ^{N}\) with unbounded boundary, \(N\ge 3,\) \(V_{\infty }>0,\) \(V\in \mathcal {C} ^{0}(\mathbb {R}^{N}),\) \(\inf _{\mathbb {R}^{N}}V>-V_{\infty }\) and \(2<p<\frac{2N}{N-2}\). We assume V is periodic in the first m variables, and decays exponentially to zero in the remaining ones. We also assume that \(\Omega \) is periodic in the first m variables and has bounded complement in the other ones. Then, assuming that \(\Omega \) and V are invariant under some suitable group of symmetries on the last \(N-m\) coordinates of \(\mathbb {R}^{N}\), we establish existence and multiplicity of sign-changing solutions to this problem. We show that, under suitable assumptions, there is a combined effect of the number of periodic variables and the symmetries of the domain on the number of sign-changing solutions to this problem. This number is at least \(m+1\)
