A magnetic composite of nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (CNx) decorated with nickel nanoparticles was synthesized by a chemical precipitation and deoxidization method. The decorated CNx were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The XRD pattern showed that CNx, nickel nanoparticles and little nickel oxides coexisted in the composite, TEM observation indicated that nickel nanoparticles were highly dispersed on the outer walls of CNx, Magnetic measurements by VSM demonstrated that the saturated magnetization and remanence of CNx were improved, while the coercivity was lowered after decorating with nickel nanoparticles.  相似文献

The preparation of Ag doped ZnO nanoparticles conducted through the method of laser-induction is presented in this work. The Ag/ZnO nanoparticles attained from various weight percentages of added AgNO3 relative to ZnO were applied under visible-light irradiation for evaluating the heterogeneous photocatalytic degradations of methylene blue (MB) solutions. It was shown that the catalytic behavior of Ag/ZnO nanoparticles in the visible-light range is notably improved through the Ag deposition onto ZnO nanoparticles by the method of laser-induction with a maximum effectiveness of 92% degradation. The properties of the nanoparticles were characterized by the employments of UV-vis spectroscopy (UV-vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and selected-area electron diffraction (SAED).  相似文献

A room temperature nanocarving strategy is developed for the fabrication of nanoparticles of nickel oxide on zinc-substituted anionic clay matrix (Ni/ZnLDH). It is based on the growth and organization of nanoparticles of nickel oxide which occur during the structural reconstruction of the layered structure of the anionic clay in NiSO4 aqueous solution. No organic compounds are used during the fabrication. The described material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), IR spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Results show that the nickel-clay nanoarchitecture consists of small nanoparticles of nickel oxide (average size 7 nm) deposited on the larger nanoparticles (average size 90 nm) of zinc-substituted clay. The optical properties of the new nickel-zinc formulation are studied by UV–Vis.  相似文献

This study reports a two-steps route for obtaining magnetic nanoparticles–polysaccharide hybrid materials consisting of Fe3O4, NiFe2O4 and CuFe2O4 nanoparticles synthesis by coprecipitation method in the presence of a soft template followed by coating of ferrite nanoparticles of 8–10-nm size range with polysaccharide type polymers—sodium alginate or chitosan. Magnetic oxide nanoparticles and the corresponding hybrid materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Mössbauer spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), FTIR spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and specific surface area measurements. The vibrating sample magnetometry confirms the superparamagnetic properties of the synthesized ferrites and hybrids. Using this route, the percent of magnetic nanoparticles retained in chitosan-based hybrid materials is nearly double in comparison with that of sodium alginate–based materials. The biological activity tests on Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeroginosa ATCC 27853, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Candida scotti microorganisms show the non-toxic properties of prepared hybrid materials.  相似文献

Cubic structured manganese ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized by a thermal treatment method followed by calcination at various temperatures from 723 to 873 K. In this investigation, we used polyvinyl pyrrolidon (PVP) as a capping agent to control the agglomeration of the nanoparticles. The characterization studies were conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The average particle sizes of manganese ferrite nanoparticles were determined by TEM, which increased with the calcination temperature from 12 to 22 nm and they had good agreement with XRD results. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the presence of metal oxide bands at all temperatures and the absence of organic bands at 873 K. Magnetic properties were demonstrated by a vibrating sample magnetometer, which showed a super-paramagnetic behavior for all samples and also saturation magnetization (Ms) increases from 3.06 to 15.78 emu/g by increasing the calcination temperature. The magnetic properties were also confirmed by the use of electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, which revealed the existence of unpaired electrons and also measured peak-to-peak line width, resonant magnetic field and the g-factor.  相似文献

Cerium oxide nanoparticles and cerium oxide nanoparticle-decorated graphene oxide (GO) are synthesized via a facile chemical coprecipitation method in the presence of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Nanostructure studies and electrochemical performances of the as-prepared samples were systematically investigated. The crystalline structure and morphology of the nanocomposites were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transition electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectrum, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Electrochemical properties of the CeO2 electrode, the GO electrode, and the nanocomposites electrodes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The CeO2 nanoparticle-decorated GO (at the mole ratio of CeO2/GO = 1:4) electrode exhibited excellent supercapacitive behavior with a high specific capacitance of 382.94 F/g at the current density of 3.0 A/g. These superior electrochemical features demonstrate that the CeO2 nanoparticle-decorated GO is a promising material for next-generation supercapacitor systems.  相似文献

[Bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehydato)copper(II)] complex, as a novel precursor, was employed in thermal decomposition process to synthesize metallic copper nanoparticles using oleylamine (C18H37N) as capping agent. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The synthesized copper nanoparticles have a fcc structure with average size 20-35 nm.  相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated with Cu2O particles were grown on a Ni catalyst layer deposited on a Cu substrate by thermal chemical vapor deposition from liquid petroleum gas. Ni catalyst nanoparticles with different sizes were produced in an electroplating system at 45 °C using the corrosive effect of H2SO4 which was added to solution. These nanoparticles provide the nucleation sites for CNT growth avoiding the need for a buffer layer. The surface morphology of the Ni catalyst films and CNT growth over this catalyst was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). High temperature surface segregation of the Cu substrate into the Ni catalyst layer and its exposition to O2 at atmospheric environment, during the CNTs growth, lead to the production of CNTs decorated with about 6 nm Cu2O nanoparticles. We used SEM to study the surface characteristics of Ni catalyst films and characteristic of grown CNTs. Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), electron diffraction (EDX), X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) revealed the formation of CNTs. The selected area electron diffraction pattern, EDX, and XPS studies show that these CNTs were decorated with Cu2O nanoparticles. This way of fabrication is the easiest and lowest cost method.  相似文献

The surface of α-alumina (Al2O3) nanoparticles was first modified with γ-aminopropyltriethoxy silane as a coupling agent. Then a series of poly(vinyl alcohol)/ surface modified Al2O3 nanocomposite suspensions were prepared in ethanol by a simple ultrasonic irradiation process. Composite films with 5, 10, and 15 wt % of inorganic Al2O3 nanoparticles were achieved after solvent evaporation. The formation of the composite materials were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and optical transparencies. The FE-SEM and TEM results showed a homogenous dispersion of nanoscale inorganic particles in the poly(vinyl alcohol) matrix. TGA thermographs showed that the thermal stability of the prepared Al2O3-reinforced nanocomposites was improved, increasing with increasing content of the nanoparticles. According to the optical transparencies, the optical clarity of poly(vinyl alcohol)/Al2O3 nanocomposite films was only slightly affected by the presence of the Al2O3 content.  相似文献

In this study, silver sulfide nanoworms were prepared via a rapid microwave-assisted hydrothermal method by reacting silver nitrate and thioacetamide in the aqueous solution of the Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) protein. The morphology, composition, and crystallinity of the nanoworms were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The results show that the nanoworms were assembled by multiple adjacent Ag2S nanoparticles and stabilized by a layer of BSA attached to their surface. The nanoworms have the sizes of about 50 nm in diameter and hundreds of nanometers in length. The analyses of high-resolution TEM and their correlative Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) indicate that the adjacent Ag2S nanoparticles grow by misoriented attachment at the connective interfaces to form the nanoworm structure. In vitro assays on the human cervical cancer cell line HeLa show that the nanoworms exhibit good biocompatibility due to the presence of BSA coating. This combination of features makes the nanoworms attractive and promising building blocks for advanced materials and devices.  相似文献

In this work, we report the synthesis of nickel titanate nanoparticles loaded on nanomesoporous MCM-41 nanoparticles to determine the effect of MCM-41 nanoparticles on the photocatalytic activities of nickel titanate (NiTiO3) nanoparticles by using simple solid-state dispersion (SSD) method. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) analysis were used to characterize the size and morphology of the obtained nanocomposite. The photocatalytic activity (PA) of the as-prepared NiTiO3 loaded on MCM-41 was evaluated by degradation of the methylene blue under irradiation of UV and visible light. The results showed that NiTiO3 loaded on nanosize MCM-41 has higher photocatalytic activity than that of NiTiO3 nanoparticles.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles co-doped with N and Fe were prepared via modified sol-gel process. The products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It is shown that the prepared TiO2 particles were less than 10 nm with narrow particle size distribution. The addition of MCM-41 caused the formation of Ti-O-Si bond which fixed the TiO2 on MCM-41 surface, thus restricted the agglomeration and growth of TiO2 particles. The photocatalytic performance in the degradation of methylene blue showed that N, Fe co-doped TiO2 exhibited much higher photocatalytic activity than doped sample with nitrogen or Fe3+ alone under both UV and visible light. N, Fe co-doping decreased the loss of doping N during the degradation reaction, thus increased the photocatalytic stability. It was also found that the nitridation time had significant influence on the photocatalytic activity of prepared TiO2 catalysts.  相似文献

The chitosan-coated magnetic nanoparticles (CS MNPs) were in situ synthesized by cross-linking method. In this method; during the adsorption of cationic chitosan molecules onto the surface of anionic magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with electrostatic interactions, tripolyphosphate (TPP) is added for ionic cross-linking of the chitosan molecules with each other. The characterization of synthesized nanoparticles was performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS/ESCA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) analyses. The XRD and XPS analyses proved that the synthesized iron oxide was magnetite (Fe3O4). The layer of chitosan on the magnetite surface was confirmed by FTIR. TEM results demonstrated a spherical morphology. In the synthesis, at higher NH4OH concentrations, smaller sized nanoparticles were obtained. The average diameters were generally between 2 and 8?nm for CS MNPs in TEM and between 58 and 103?nm in DLS. The average diameters of bare MNPs were found as around 18?nm both in TEM and DLS. TGA results indicated that the chitosan content of CS MNPs were between 15 and 23?% by weight. Bare and CS MNPs were superparamagnetic. These nanoparticles were found non-cytotoxic on cancer cell lines (SiHa, HeLa). The synthesized MNPs have many potential applications in biomedicine including targeted drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging?(MRI), and magnetic hyperthermia.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel, inexpensive and one-step approach for synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using arc discharge between titanium electrodes in AgNO3 solution. The resulting nanoparticles were characterized using UV–Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Silver nanoparticles of 18 nm diameter were formed during reduction of AgNO3 in plasma discharge zone. Optical absorption spectroscopy of as prepared samples at 15 A arc current in AgNO3 solution shows a surface plasmon resonance around 410 nm. It was found that sodium citrate acts as a stabilizer and surface capping agent of the colloidal nanoparticles. SEM images exhibit the increase of reduced nanoparticles in 6 min arc duration compared with 1 min arc duration. TEM image of the sample prepared at 6 min arc duration shows narrow size distribution with 18 nm mean particle size. Antibacterial activities of silver nanoparticles were investigated at the presence of Escherichia coli (E-coli) bacteria.  相似文献

This study reports the simple synthesis of MFe2O4 (where M=Zn, Mn and Co) nanostructures by a thermal treatment method, followed by calcination at various temperatures from 723 to 873 K. Poly(vinyl pyrrolidon) (PVP) was used as a capping agent to stabilize the particles and prevent them from agglomeration. The pyrolytic behaviors of the polymeric precursor were analyzed by use of simultaneous thermo-gravimetry analyses (TGA) and derivative thermo-gravimetry (DTG) analyses. The characterization studies were conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) confirmed the presence of metal oxide bands for all the calcined samples. Magnetic properties were demonstrated by a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), which displayed that the calcined samples exhibited different types of magnetic behavior. The present study also substantiated that magnetic properties of ferrite nanoparticles prepared by the thermal treatment method, from viewing microstructures of them, can be explained as the results of the two important factors: cation distribution and impurity phase of α-Fe2O3. These two factors are subcategory of the preparation method which is related to macrostructure of ferrite. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy showed the existence of unpaired electrons ZnFe2O4 and MnFe2O4 nanoparticles while it did not exhibit resonance signal for CoFe2O4 nanoparticles.  相似文献

Y2O3 nanoparticles and nanorods have been firstly synthesized in bulk Ti-Y films prepared by magnetron sputtering on Si (100) substrates at different temperatures. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) are used to characterize the structure, morphology, and composition of the as-synthesized nanoparticles and nanorods. The mechanical properties of the sputtered films are investigated using nanoindentation techniques. The results indicate that both the nanoparticles and nanorods have a pure cubic Y2O3 structure resulting from the reaction of Y atoms with the residual O2 in the vacuum chamber, and are free from defects and dislocations with uniform diameters of about 30 nm. The Y2O3 nanoparticles mainly distribute at the grain boundaries of the Ti matrix and the nanorods have lengths ranging from 250 nm to more than 1 μm with the growth direction parallel to the (002) plane. As the growth temperature elevates, the nanoparticles turn to be coarsening while more and longer nanorods are inclined to form. Compared with the Ti film, the TiY films have a remarkable increase in hardness, but do not exhibit expected increase in elastic modulus. Finally, the growth mechanism is also briefly discussed.  相似文献

The photoluminescence (PL) and optical properties of CdS nanoparticles prepared by the solid-state method at low temperature have been discussed. The effects of NaCl and anionic surfactant SDBS (sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate) on the luminescent properties of CdS nanophosphors prepared using this method, without the inert gas or the H2S environment, were studied separately. The synthesized products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX). UV–VIS absorption and PL spectra were also studied. XRD studies confirmed the single-phase formation of CdS nanoparticles. TEM micrograph revealed the formation of nearly spherical nanoparticles with a diameter of 2.5 nm. The PL emission for the CdS shows the main peak at 560 nm with a shoulder at 624 nm, with an increase in the PL intensity after the addition of SDBS. The effect of Mn doping on PL intensity has also been investigated. The PL spectra show that the emission intensity decreases as the dopant concentration increases.  相似文献

In this work, we describe a novel facile method to prepare long one-dimensional hybrid nanofibers by using hydrated bacterial cellulose nanofibers (BCF) as template. Palladium-copper nanoparticles were prepared in BCF by immersing BCF in a mixture solution of PdCl2 and CuCl2 in water and followed reduction of absorbed metallic ion inside of BCF to the metallic Pd-Cu nanoparticles using potassium borohydride. The bare BCF and the composites were characterized by a range of analytical techniques including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results reveal that the Pd-Cu nanoparticles were homogeneously precipitated on the BCF surface. The Pd-Cu/BCF was used as a catalyst for water denitrification, which showed that it has high catalytic activity.  相似文献
