The elemental sulfur electrode with Cu2+ as the charge carrier gives a four‐electron sulfur electrode reaction through the sequential conversion of S?CuS?Cu2S. The Cu‐S redox‐ion electrode delivers a high specific capacity of 3044 mAh g?1 based on the sulfur mass or 609 mAh g?1 based on the mass of Cu2S, the completely discharged product, and displays an unprecedently high potential of sulfur/metal sulfide reduction at 0.5 V vs. SHE. The Cu‐S electrode also exhibits an extremely low extent of polarization of 0.05 V and an outstanding cycle number of 1200 cycles retaining 72 % of the initial capacity at 12.5 A g?1. The remarkable utility of this Cu‐S cathode is further demonstrated in a hybrid cell that employs an Zn metal anode and an anion‐exchange membrane as the separator, which yields an average cell discharge voltage of 1.15 V, the half‐cell specific energy of 547 Wh kg?1 based on the mass of the Cu2S/carbon composite cathode, and stable cycling over 110 cycles.  相似文献

Owing to low ion/electron conductivity and large volume change, transitional metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) suffer from inferior cycle stability and rate capability when used as the anode of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). To overcome these disadvantages, amorphous molybdenum sulfide (MoSx) nanospheres were prepared and coated with an ultrathin carbon layer through a simple one-pot reaction. Combining X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) with theoretical calculations, MoSx was confirmed as having a special chain molecular structure with two forms of S bonding (S2− and S22−), the optimal adsorption sites of Li+ were located at S22−. As a result, the MoSx electrode exhibits superior cycle and rate capacities compared with crystalline 2H-MoS2 (e.g., delivering a high capacity of 612.4 mAh g−1 after 500 cycles at 1 A g−1). This is mainly attributed to more exposed active S22− sites for Li storage, more Li+ transfer pathways for improved ion conductivity, and suppressed electrode structure pulverization of MoSx derived from the inherent chain-like molecular structure. Quantitative charge storage analysis further demonstrates the improved pseudocapacitive contribution of amorphous MoSx induced by fast reaction kinetics. Moreover, the morphology contrast after cycling demonstrates the dispersion of active materials is more uniform for MoSx than 2H-MoS2, suggesting the MoSx can well accommodate the volume stress of the electrode during discharging. Through regulating the molecular structure, this work provides an effective targeted strategy to overcome the intrinsic issues of TMDs for high-performance LIBs.  相似文献

The optimization of three-dimensional (3D) MXene-based electrodes with desired electrochemical performances is highly demanded. Here, a precursor-guided strategy is reported for fabricating the 3D SnS/MXene architecture with tiny SnS nanocrystals (≈5 nm in size) covalently decorated on the wrinkled Ti3C2Tx nanosheets through Ti−S bonds (denoted as SnS/Ti3C2Tx-O). The formation of Ti−S bonds between SnS and Ti3C2Tx was confirmed by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS). Rather than bulky SnS plates decorated on Ti3C2Tx (SnS/Ti3C2Tx-H) by one-step hydrothermal sulfidation followed by post annealing, this SnS/Ti3C2Tx-O presents size-dependent structural and dynamic properties. The as-formed 3D hierarchical structure can provide short ion-diffusion pathways and electron transport distances because of the more accessible surface sites. In addition, benefiting from the tiny SnS nanocrystals that can effectively improve Na+ diffusion and suppress structural variation upon charge/discharge processes, the as-obtained SnS/Ti3C2Tx-O can generate pseudocapacitance-dominated storage behavior enabled by engineered surface reactions. As predicted, this electrode exhibits an enhanced Na storage capacity of 565 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 after 75 cycles, outperforming SnS/Ti3C2Tx-H (336 mAh g−1), SnS (212 mAh g−1), and Ti3C2Tx (104 mAh g−1) electrodes.  相似文献

Potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) are regarded as promising candidates in next-generation energy storage technology; however, the electrode materials in PIBs are usually restricted by the shortcomings of large volume expansion and poor cycling stability stemming from a high resistance towards diffusion and insertion of large-sized K ions. In this study, BiSbSx nanocrystals are rationally integrated with sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) fibres through electrospinning technology with an annealing process. Such a unique structure, in which BiSbSx nanocrystals are embedded inside the SPAN fibre, affords multiple binding sites and a short diffusion length for K+ to realize fast kinetics. In addition, the molecular structure of SPAN features robust chemical interactions for stationary diffluent discharge products. Thus, the electrode demonstrates a superior potassium storage performance with an excellent reversible capacity of 790 mAh g−1 (at 0.1 A g−1 after 50 cycles) and 472 mAh g−1 (at 1 A g−1 after 2000 cycles). It's one of the best performances for metal dichalcogenides anodes for PIBs to date. The unusual performance of the BiSbSx@SPAN composite is attributed to the synergistic effects of the judicious nanostructure engineering of BiSbSx nanocrystals as well as the chemical interaction and confinement of SPAN fibers.  相似文献

A new phosphonate-based anionic bimetallic organic framework, with the general formula of A4−Zn−DOBDP (wherein A is Li+ or Na+, and DOBDP6− is the 2,5-dioxido-1,4-benzenediphosphate ligand) is prepared and characterized for energy storage applications. With four alkali cations per formula unit, the A4−Zn−DOBDP MOF is found to be the first example of non-solvated cation conducting MOF with measured conductivities of 5.4×10−8 S cm−1 and 3.4×10−8 S cm−1 for Li4- and Na4- phases, indicating phase and composition effects of Li+ and Na+ shuttling through the channels. Three orders of magnitude increase in ionic conductivity is further attained upon solvation with propylene carbonate, placing this system among the best MOF ionic conductors at room temperature. As positive electrode material, Li4−Zn−DOBDP delivers a specific capacity of 140 mAh g−1 at a high average discharge potential of 3.2 V (vs. Li+/Li) with 90 % of capacity retention over 100 cycles. The significance of this research extends from the development of a new family of electroactive phosphonate-based MOFs with inherent ionic conductivity and reversible cation storage, to providing elementary insights into the development of highly sought yet still evasive MOFs with mixed-ion and electron conduction for energy storage applications.  相似文献

Solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) seriously affects battery's cycling life, especially for high-capacity anode due to excessive electrolyte decomposition from particle fracture. Herein, we report an ultrathin SEI (3–4 nm) induced by Cu+-tailored double electrical layer (EDL) to suppress electrolyte consumption and enhance cycling stability of CuS anode in sodium-ion batteries. Unique EDL with SO3CF3-Cu complex absorbing on CuS in NaSO3CF3/diglyme electrolyte is demonstrated by in situ surface-enhanced Raman, Cyro-TEM and theoretical calculation, in which SO3CF3-Cu could be reduced to CuF2-rich SEI. Dispersed CuF2 and F-containing compound can provide good interfacial contact for formation of ultrathin and stable SEI film to minimize electrolyte consumption and reduce activation energy of Na+ transport. As a result, the modified CuS delivers high capacity of 402.8 mAh g−1 after 7000 cycles without capacity decay. The insights of SEI construction pave a way for high-stability electrode.  相似文献

This work reports the preparation of unique hierarchical yolk/double-shelled SiOx@TiO2@C nanospheres with different voids by a facile sol-gel method combined with carbon coating. In the preparation process, SiOx nanosphere is used as a hard template. Etch time of SiOx yolk affects the morphology and electrochemical performance of SiOx@TiO2@C. With the increase in etch time, the yolk/double-shelled SiOx@TiO2@C with 15 and 30 nm voids and the TiO2@C hollow nanospheres are obtained. The yolk/double-shelled SiOx@TiO2@C nanospheres exhibit remarkable lithium-ion battery performance as anodes, including high lithium storage capacity, outstanding rate capability, good reversibility, and stable long-term cycle life. The unique structure can accommodate the large volume change of the SiOx yolk, provide a unique buffering space for the discharge/charge processes, improve the structural stability of the electrode material during repeated Li+ intercalation/deintercalation processes, and enhance the cycling stability. The SiOx@TiO2@C with 30 nm void space exhibits a high discharge specific capacity of ≈1195.4 mA h g−1 at the current density of 0.1 A g−1 after 300 cycles and ≈701.1 mA h g−1 at 1 A g−1 for over 800 cycles. These results suggest that the proposed particle architecture is promising and may have potential applications in improving various high performance anode materials.  相似文献

Black phosphorus (BP) is a desirable anode material for alkali metal ion storage owing to its high electronic/ionic conductivity and theoretical capacity. In-depth understanding of the redox reactions between BP and the alkali metal ions is key to reveal the potential and limitations of BP, and thus to guide the design of BP-based composites for high-performance alkali metal ion batteries. Comparative studies of the electrochemical reactions of Li+, Na+, and K+ with BP were performed. Ex situ X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy combined with theoretical calculation reveal the lowest utilization of BP for K+ storage than for Na+ and Li+, which is ascribed to the highest formation energy and the lowest ion diffusion coefficient of the final potassiation product K3P, compared with Li3P and Na3P. As a result, restricting the formation of K3P by limiting the discharge voltage achieves a gravimetric capacity of 1300 mAh g−1 which retains at 600 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles at 0.25 A g−1.  相似文献

Phase engineering of the electrode materials in terms of designing heterostructures, introducing heteroatom and defects, improves great prospects in accelerating the charge storage kinetics during the repeated Li+/Na+ insertion/deintercalation. Herein, a new design of Li/Na-ion battery anodes through phase regulating is reported consisting of F-doped SnO2-SnS2 heterostructure nanocrystals with oxygen/sulfur vacancies (VO/VS) anchored on a 2D sulfur/nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide matrix (F-SnO2-x-SnS2-x@N/S-RGO). Consequently, the F-SnO2-x-SnS2-x@N/S-RGO anode demonstrates superb high reversible capacity and long-term cycling stability. Moreover, it exhibits excellent great rate capability with 589 mAh g−1 for Li+ and 296 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1 for Na+. The enhanced Li/Na storage properties of the nanocomposites are not only attributed to the increase in conductivity caused by VO/VS and F doping (confirmed by DFT calculations) to accelerate their charge-transfer kinetics but also the increased interaction between F-SnO2-x-SnS2-x and Li/Na through heterostructure. Meanwhile, the hierarchical F-SnO2-x-SnS2-x@N/S-RGO network structure enables fast infiltration of electrolyte and improves electron/ion transportation in the electrode, and the corrosion resistance of F doping contributes to prolonged cycle stability.  相似文献

Binary transition-metal oxides (BTMOs) with hierarchical micro–nano-structures have attracted great interest as potential anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Herein, we report the fabrication of hierarchical cauliflower-like CoFe2O4 (cl-CoFe2O4) via a facile room-temperature co-precipitation method followed by post-synthetic annealing. The obtained cauliflower structure is constructed by the assembly of microrods, which themselves are composed of small nanoparticles. Such hierarchical micro–nano-structure can promote fast ion transport and stable electrode–electrolyte interfaces. As a result, the cl-CoFe2O4 can deliver a high specific capacity (1019.9 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1), excellent rate capability (626.0 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1), and good cyclability (675.4 mAh g−1 at 4 A g−1 for over 400 cycles) as an anode material for LIBs. Even at low temperatures of 0 °C and −25 °C, the cl-CoFe2O4 anode can deliver high capacities of 907.5 and 664.5 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1, respectively, indicating its wide operating temperature. More importantly, the full-cell assembled with a commercial LiFePO4 cathode exhibits a high rate performance (214.2 mAh g−1 at 5000 mA g−1) and an impressive cycling performance (612.7 mAh g−1 over 140 cycles at 300 mA g−1) in the voltage range of 0.5–3.6 V. Kinetic analysis reveals that the electrochemical performance of cl-CoFe2O4 is dominated by pseudocapacitive behavior, leading to fast Li+ insertion/extraction and good cycling life.  相似文献

Rechargeable aqueous batteries are promising energy storage devices because of their high safety and low cost. However, their energy densities are generally unsatisfactory due to the limited capacities of ion-inserted electrode materials, prohibiting their widespread applications. Herein, a high-energy aqueous all-sulfur battery was constructed via matching S/Cu2S and S/CaSx redox couples. In such batteries, both cathodes and anodes undergo the conversion reaction between sulfur/metal sulfides redox couples, which display high specific capacities and rational electrode potential difference. Furthermore, during the charge/discharge process, the simultaneous redox of Cu2+ ion charge-carriers also takes place and contributes to a more two-electron transfer, which doubles the capacity of cathodes. As a result, the assembled aqueous all-sulfur batteries deliver a high discharge capacity of 447 mAh g−1 based on total mass of sulfur in cathode and anode at 0.1 A g−1, contributing to an enhanced energy density of 393 Wh kg−1. This work will widen the scope for the design of high-energy aqueous batteries.  相似文献

Lithium-sulfur batteries are promising secondary energy storage devices that are mainly limited by its unsatisfactory cyclability owing to inefficient reversible conversion of sulfur and lithium sulfide on the cathode during the discharge/charging process. In this study, nitrogen-doped three-dimensional porous carbon material loaded with CoSe2 nanoparticles (CoSe2-PNC) is developed as a cathode for lithium-sulfur battery. A combination of CoSe2 and nitrogen-doped porous carbon can efficiently improve the cathode activity and its conductivity, resulting in enhanced redox kinetics of the charge/discharge process. The obtained electrode exhibits a high discharge specific capacity of 1139.6 mAh g−1 at a current density of 0.2 C. After 100 cycles, its capacity remained at 865.7 mAh g−1 thus corresponding to a capacity retention of 75.97 %. In a long-term cycling test, discharge specific capacity of 546.7 mAh g−1 was observed after 300 cycles performed at a current density of 1 C.  相似文献

Poly(1,5‐diaminoanthraquinone) is synthesized by oxidative polymerization of diaminoanthraquinone monomers and investigated as an organic host for Li‐storage reaction. Benefiting from its high density of redox‐active, Li+‐associable benzoquinone groups attached to conducting polyaniline backbones, this polymer undergoes its cathodic reaction predominately through Li+‐insertion/extraction processes, delivering a very high reversible capacity of 285 mAh g?1. In addition, the PDAQ polymer cathode exhibits an excellent rate capability (125 mAh g?1 at 800 mA g?1) and a considerable cyclability with a capacity retention of ~160 mAh g?1 over 200 cycles, possibly serving as a sustainable, high capacity Li+ host cathode for Li‐ion batteries. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new family of sulfur‐rich phosphorus sulfide molecules (P4S10+n ) and their electrochemical reaction mechanism with metallic Li has been explored. These P4S10+n molecules are synthesized by the reaction between P4S10 and S. For Li batteries, the P4S40 molecule in the series of P4S10+n molecules provides the highest capacity, which has a first discharge capacity of 1223 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1 and stabilizes at approximately 720 mAh g−1 at 500 mA g−1 after 100 cycles. This new class of sulfur‐rich P4S10+n molecules and its electrochemical behavior for room‐temperature Li+ storage could provide novel insights for phosphorus sulfide molecules and high‐energy batteries.  相似文献

A new type of three-dimensional (3D) oxy-phosphate materials are explored for the application of Li and Na batteries. The molybdenum tungsten oxy phosphate, MoWO3(PO4)2, was synthesized by solid-state method and evaluated for Li/Na insertion/de-insertion electrode material for the first time. The cell at charged state (vs. Li+/Li) showed a discharge capacity of 786 mAh g−1 within the voltage window of 0.3 V with amorphization of crystalline MoWO3(PO4)2 as observed from ex-situ powder XRD analysis. The structural integrity was revealed in this material, even with nearly more than 5 Li+ ions into the lattice, leading to the discharge capacity of 250 mAh g−1. The reversible charge/discharge behavior with insertion/de-insertion of 2.4 Li+ ions in the voltage range of 1.65 − 3.5 V resulted in 110 and 95 mAh g−1 at C/10 and C/5 rates, respectively. On the other hand, poor cycling performance was noticed for Na ion insertion and desertion, with a discharge capacity of 250 mAh/g within the voltage range of 0.3 − 3.5 V (vs. Na+/Na).

High interconversion energy barriers, depressive reaction kinetics of sulfur species, and sluggish Li+ transport inhibit the wide development of high-energy-density lithium sulfur (Li−S) batteries. Herein, differing from random mixture of selected catalysts, the composite catalyst with outer delocalized isoelectronic heterostructure (DIHC) is proposed and optimized, enhancing the catalytic efficiency for decreasing related energy barriers. As a proof-of-content, the FeCoOxSy composites with different degrees of sulfurization are fabricated by regulating atoms ratio between O and S. The relationship of catalytic efficiency and principal mechanism in DIHCs are deeply understood from electrochemical experiments to in situ/operando spectral spectroscopies i.e., Raman, XRD and UV/Vis. Consequently, the polysulfide conversion and Li2S precipitation/dissolution experiments strongly demonstrate the volcano-like catalytic efficiency of various DIHCs. Furthermore, the FeCoOxSy-decorated cell delivers the high performance (1413 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1). Under the low electrolyte/sulfur ratio, the high loading cell stabilizes the areal capacity of 6.67 mAh cm−2 at 0.2 A g−1. Impressively, even resting for about 17 days for possible polysulfide shuttling, the high-mass-loading FeCoOxSy-decorated cell stabilizes the same capacity, showing the practical application of the DIHCs in improving catalytic efficiency and reaching high electrochemical performance.  相似文献

An amidation-dominated re-assembly strategy is developed to prepare uniform single atom Ni/S/C nanotubes. In this re-assembly process, a single-atom design and nano-structured engineering are realized simultaneously. Both the NiO5 single-atom active centers and nanotube framework endow the Ni/S/C ternary composite with accelerated reaction kinetics for potassium-ion storage. Theoretical calculations and electrochemical studies prove that the atomically dispersed Ni could enhance the convention kinetics and decrease the decomposition energy barrier of the chemically-absorbed small-molecule sulfur in Ni/S/C nanotubes, thus lowering the electrode reaction overpotential and resistance remarkably. The mechanically stable nanotube framework could well accommodate the volume variation during potassiation/depotassiation process. As a result, a high K-storage capacity of 608 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1 and stable cycling capacity of 330.6 mAh g−1 at 1000 mA g−1 after 500 cycles are achieved.  相似文献

Sodium/potassium-ion batteries (SIBs/PIBs) arouse intensive interest on account of the natural abundance of sodium/potassium resources, the competitive cost and appropriate redox potential. Nevertheless, the huge challenge for SIBs/PIBs lies in the scarcity of an anode material with high capacity and stable structure, which are capable of accommodating large-size ions during cycling. Furthermore, using sustainable natural biomass to fabricate electrodes for energy storage applications is a hot topic. Herein, an ultra-small few-layer nanostructured MoSe2 embedded on N, P co-doped bio-carbon is reported, which is synthesized by using chlorella as the adsorbent and precursor. As a consequence, the MoSe2/NP-C-2 composite represents exceedingly impressive electrochemical performance for both sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and potassium-ion batteries (PIBs). It displays a promising reversible capacity (523 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1 after 100 cycles) and impressive long-term cycling performance (192 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1 even after 1000 cycles) in SIBs, which are some of the best properties of MoSe2-based anode materials for SIBs to date. To further probe the great potential applications, full SIBs pairing the MoSe2/NP-C-2 composite anode with a Na3V2(PO4)3 cathode also exhibits a satisfactory capacity of 215 mAh g−1 at 500 mA g−1 after 100 cycles. Moreover, it also delivers a decent reversible capacity of 131 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1 even after 250 cycles for PIBs.  相似文献

The cost-efficient ZnMnO3 has attracted increasing attention as a prospective anode candidate for advanced lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) owing to its resourceful abundance, large lithium storage capacity and low operating voltage. However, its practical application is still seriously limited by the modest cycling and rate performances. Herein, a facile design to scalable synthesize unique one-dimensional (1D) mesoporous ZnMnO3 nanorods (ZMO-NRs) composed of nanoscale particles (≈11 nm) is reported. The 1D mesoporous structure and nanoscale building blocks of the ZMO-NRs effectively promote the transport of ions/electrons, accommodate severe volume changes, and expose more active sites for lithium storage. Benefiting from these appealing structural merits, the obtained ZMO-NRs anode exhibits excellent rate behavior (≈454 mAh g−1 at 2 A g−1) and ultra-long term cyclic performance (≈949.7 mAh g−1 even over 500 cycles at 0.5 A g−1) for efficient lithium storage. Additionally, the LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2//ZMO-NRs full cell presents a practical energy density (≈192.2 Wh kg−1) and impressive cyclability with approximately 91 % capacity retention over 110 cycles. This highlights that the ZMO-NRs product is a highly promising high-rate and stable electrode candidate towards advanced LIBs in electronic devices and sustainable energy storage applications.  相似文献

The sluggish sulfur redox kinetics and shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) are recognized as the main obstacles to the practical applications of the lithium-sulfur (Li−S) batteries. Accelerated conversion by catalysis can mitigate these issues, leading to enhanced Li−S performance. However, a catalyst with single active site cannot simultaneously accelerate multiple LiPSs conversion. Herein, we developed a novel dual-defect (missing linker and missing cluster defects) metal–organic framework (MOF) as a new type of catalyst to achieve synergistic catalysis for the multi-step conversion reaction of LiPSs. Electrochemical tests and first-principle density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that different defects can realize targeted acceleration of stepwise reaction kinetics for LiPSs. Specifically, the missing linker defects can selectively accelerate the conversion of S8→Li2S4, while the missing cluster defects can catalyze the reaction of Li2S4→Li2S, so as to effectively inhibit the shuttle effect. Hence, the Li−S battery with an electrolyte to sulfur (E/S) ratio of 8.9 mL g−1 delivers a capacity of 1087 mAh g−1 at 0.2 C after 100 cycles. Even at high sulfur loading of 12.9 mg cm−2 and E/S=3.9 mL g−1, an areal capacity of 10.4 mAh cm−2 for 45 cycles can still be obtained.  相似文献
