Oligonucleotides containing terminal phosphate groups serve as useful intermediates for different applications in molecular and cell biology, as well as for diagnostic purposes. The chemical synthesis of these derivatives has been an important topic of oligonucleotide research. We report here a novel polystyrene‐based solid support bearing an α‐hydroxy oximate linker that allows the synthesis of 3′‐phosphorylated oligodeoxynucleotides as well as oligoribonucleotides in high quality. The formation of the phosphorylated oligonucleotides likely proceeds through an eliminative pathway with concurrent nitroso‐ene production.  相似文献

Two poly(4‐methylstyrene) (P4MS)‐block‐polystyrene (PS)‐block‐P4MS triblock copolymers were prepared by successive anionic addition of styrene and 4‐methylstyrene monomers as the core backbone ( CB ) for the architecture of block‐graft polymers. Both terminal 4‐methylstyrene blocks of CB were metalated with a sec‐butyllithium (sec‐BuLi)/tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) complex in cyclohexane. The first‐generation block‐graft polymer ( 1BG ) was prepared by anionic polymerization of α‐methylstyrene by the lithiated CB in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at –78°C and subsequently the terminal graft ends were capped with a small amount of 4‐methylstyrene. The characterization of those block‐graft polymers was carried out in detail.  相似文献

Synthesis of cysteine‐terminated linear polystyrene (PS)‐b‐poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL)‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/or poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)(PtBA)‐b‐poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) copolymers was carried out using sequential quadruple click reactions including thiol‐ene, copper‐catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), Diels–Alder, and nitroxide radical coupling (NRC) reactions. N‐acetyl‐L ‐cysteine methyl ester was first clicked with α‐allyl‐ω‐azide‐terminated PS via thiol‐ene reaction to create α‐cysteine‐ω‐azide‐terminated PS. Subsequent CuAAC reaction with PCL, followed by the introduction of the PMMA/or PtBA and PEG blocks via Diels–Alder and NRC, respectively, yielded final cysteine‐terminated multiblock copolymers. By 1H NMR spectroscopy, the DPns of the blocks in the final multiblock copolymers were found to be close to those of the related polymer precursors, indicating that highly efficient click reactions occurred for polymer–polymer coupling. Successful quadruple click reactions were also confirmed by gel permeation chromatography. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2012  相似文献

Summary: Thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry have been used to study the thermal and thermo‐oxidative degradation of polystyrene (PS) and a PS–clay nanocomposite. An advanced isoconversional method has been applied for kinetic analysis. Introduction of the clay phase increases the activation energy and affects the total heat of degradation, which suggests a change in the reaction mechanism. The obtained kinetic data permit a comparative assessment of the fire resistance of the studied materials.

A combination of ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and click chemistry approach is first time utilized in the preparation of 3‐miktoarm star terpolymer. The bromide end‐functionality of monotelechelic poly(N‐butyl oxanorbornene imide) (PNBONI‐Br) is first transformed to azide and then reacted with polystyrene‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate) copolymer with alkyne at the junction point (PS‐b‐PMMA‐alkyne) via click chemistry strategy, producing PS‐PMMA‐PNBONI 3‐miktoarm star terpolymer. PNBONI‐Br was prepared by ROMP of N‐butyl oxanorbornene imide (NBONI) 1 in the presence of (Z)‐but‐2‐ene‐1,4‐diyl bis(2‐bromopropanoate) 2 as terminating agent. PS‐b‐PMMA‐alkyne copolymer was prepared successively via nitroxide‐mediated radical polymerization (NMP) of St and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of MMA. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three polystyrene (PS)/clay hybrid systems have been prepared via in situ polymerization of styrene in the presence of unmodified sodium montmorillonite (Na‐MMT) clay, MMT modified with zwitterionic cationic surfactant octadecyldimethyl betaine (C18DMB) and MMT modified with polymerizable cationic surfactant vinylbenzyldimethyldodecylammonium chloride (VDAC). X‐ray diffraction and TEM were used to probe mineral layer organization and to expose the morphology of these systems. The PS/Na‐MMT composite was found to exhibit a conventional composite structure consisting of unintercalated micro and nanoclay particles homogeneously dispersed in the PS matrix. The PS/C18DMB‐MMT system exhibited an intercalated layered silicate nanocomposite structure consisting of intercalated tactoids dispersed in the PS matrix. Finally, the PS/VDAC‐MMT system exhibited features of both intercalated and exfoliated nanocomposites. Systematic statistical analysis of aggregate orientation, characteristic width, length, aspect ratio, and number of layers using multiple TEM micrographs enabled the development of representative morphological models for each of the nanocomposite structures. Oxygen barrier properties of all three PS/clay hybrid systems were measured as a function of mineral composition and analyzed in terms of traditional Nielsen and Cussler approaches. A modification of the Nielsen model has been proposed, which considers the effect of layer aggregation (layer stacking) on gas barrier. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined end‐functionalized polystyrene, poly(α‐methylstyrene), and polyisoprene with polymerizable aziridine groups were synthesized by the termination reactions of the anionic living polymers of styrene, α‐methylstyrene, and isoprene with 1‐[2‐(4‐chlorobutoxy)ethyl]aziridine in tetrahydrofuran at ?78 °C. The resulting polymers possessed the predicted molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions (weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight < 1.1) as well as aziridine terminal moieties. The cationic ring‐opening polymerization of the ω‐monofunctionalized polystyrene having an aziridinyl group with Et3OBF4 gave the polymacromonomer, whereas the α,ω‐difunctional polystyrene underwent crosslinking reactions to afford an insoluble gel. Crosslinking products were similarly obtained by the reaction of the α,ω‐diaziridinyl polystyrene with poly(acrylic acid)‐co‐poly(butyl acrylate). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 3‐Arm star‐block copolymers, (polystyrene‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate))3, (PS‐b‐PMMA)3, and (polystyrene‐b‐poly(ethylene glycol))3, (PS‐b‐PEG)3, are prepared using double‐click reactions: Huisgen and Diels–Alder, with a one‐pot technique. PS and PMMA blocks with α‐anthracene‐ω‐azide‐ and α‐maleimide‐end‐groups, respectively, are achieved using suitable initiators in ATRP of styrene and MMA, respectively. However, PEG obtained from a commercial source is reacted with 3‐acetyl‐N‐(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐7‐oxabicyclo[2.2.1]hept‐5‐ene‐2‐carboxamide (7) to give furan‐protected maleimide‐end‐functionalized PEG. Finally, PS/PMMA and PS/PEG blocks are linked efficiently with trialkyne functional linking agent 1,1,1‐tris[4‐(2‐propynyloxy)phenyl]‐ethane 2 in the presence of CuBr/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine (PMDETA) at 120 °C for 48 h to give two samples of 3‐arm star‐block copolymers. The results of the peak splitting using a Gaussian deconvolution of the obtained GPC traces for (PS‐b‐PMMA)3 and (PS‐b‐PEG)3 displayed that the yields of target 3‐arm star‐block copolymers were found to be 88 and 82%, respectively. © Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined polymethylene‐block‐polystyrene (PM‐b‐PS) diblock copolymers were synthesized via a combination of polyhomologation of ylides and reversible addition‐fragmentation chain‐transfer (RAFT) polymerization of styrene. Trithiocarbonate‐terminated polymethylenes (PM‐TTCB) (Mn = 1400 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.09 and Mn = 2100 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.20) were obtained via an esterification of S?1‐dodecyl‐S′‐(α,α′‐dimethyl‐α″‐acetate) trithiocarbonate with hydroxyl‐terminated polymethylene synthesized via polyhomologation of ylides followed by oxidation. Then, a series of PM‐b‐PS (Mn = 5500–34,000 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.12–1.25) diblock copolymers were obtained by RAFT polymerization of styrene using PM‐TTCB as a macromolecular chain‐transfer agent. The chain structures of all the polymers were characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), gel permeation chromatography, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The thiocarbonylthio end‐group of PM‐b‐PS was transformed into thiol group by aminolysis and confirmed by UV–vis spectroscopy. In addition, microfibers and microspheres of such diblock copolymers were fabricated by electrospinning process and observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. In this work, Fe3O4/polystyrene/poly(N‐isopropylacryl amide‐co‐methylacrylate acid) (Fe3O4/PS/P(NIPAAM‐co‐MAA)) magnetic composite latex was synthesized by the method of two stage emulsion polymerization. In this reaction system, 2,2′‐azobis(2‐methyl propionamidine) dihydrochloride (AIBA) was used as initiator to initiate the first stage reaction and second stage reaction. The Fe3O4 particles were prepared by a traditional coprecipitation method. Fe3O4 particles were surface treated by either PAA oligomer or lauric acid to form the stable ferrofluid. The first stage for the synthesis of magnetic composite latex was to synthesize PS in the presence of ferrofluid by soapless emulsion polymerization to form the Fe3O4/PS composite latex particles. Following the first stage of reaction, the second stage of polymerization was carried out by the method of soapless emulsion polymerization with NIPAAM and MAA as monomers and Fe3O4/PS latex as seeds. The magnetic composite particles, Fe3O4/PS/P(NIPAAM‐co‐MAA), were thus obtained. The mechanism of the first stage reaction and second stage reaction were investigated. Moreover, the effects of PAA and lauric acid on the reaction kinetics, morphology, and particle size distribution were studied. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Phase separation temperatures of the ternary system polystyrene (PS) (Mw = 1.67 × 104)/poly(α-methyl styrene) (PαMS) (Mw = 9.0 × 104)/cyclopentane with a blend ratio PS/PαMS = 55/45 have been determined over the polymer concentration range 0.02 ≤ ψPS + PαMS ≤ 0.52, where ψ PS + PαMS is the segment fraction of polymer in ternary system. Phase separation temperatures for the upper critical separation in the ternary system decrease with increasing ψ PS + PαMS over the range 0.1 ≤ ψ PS + PαMS ≤ 0.52. The vapor—liquid equilibrium in this system with a blend ratio PS/PαMS=50/50 has been determined over the concentration range 0.925 ≤ ψPS + PαMS < 0.995 and the temperature range 60–100°C by the piezoelectric vapor sorption method. The polymer—polymer interaction parameters χ′12 determined are positive except at 100°C and increase with increasing ψ PS + PαMS. Values of χ′12 extrapolated to zero solvent concentration are positive (0.0–1.3) over the temperature range measured. Phase separation behavior is discussed in terms of phase separation temperature in a ternary system and the polymer–polymer interaction parameter.  相似文献

The nonaqueous dispersion polymerization of styrene in methanol with poly[(4‐methylstyrene)‐co‐(4‐vinyltriethylbenzyl ammonium bromide)]‐b‐polyisobutene as a stabilizer was investigated. There was no observable inducing period or autoacceleration in the polymerization process. The conversion increased almost linearly with the polymerization time as high as 80%. The average sizes of the obtained polystyrene particles increased, and the size distributions of the polystyrene particles tended to become narrower, with increasing conversion. The mechanism of the dispersion polymerization in the presence of polyisobutene‐b‐poly[(4‐methylstyrene)‐co‐(4‐vinyltriethylbenzyl ammonium bromide)] was nucleation/growth. When the stabilizer/monomer ratio (w/w) was greater than 2.0%, the polystyrene dispersion was stable, and there was no observable polymer particle coagulation taking place during the whole polymerization process. The average diameter of the polymer particles can be mediated through changes in the polymerization conversion, monomer, and stabilizer. Nearly monodispersed polystyrene particles with average diameters of approximately 0.45–2.21 μm were obtained under optimal conditions. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, an iron oxide (Fe3O4)/polystyrene (PS)/poly(N‐isopropylacryl amide‐co‐methacrylic acid) [P(NIPAAM–MAA)] thermosensitive magnetic composite latex was synthesized by the method of two‐stage emulsion polymerization. The Fe3O4 particles were prepared by a traditional coprecipitation method and then surface‐treated with either a PAA oligomer or lauric acid to form a stable ferrofluid. The first stage for the synthesis of the thermosensitive magnetic composite latex was to synthesize PS in the presence of a ferrofluid by emulsion polymerization to form Fe3O4/PS composite latex particles. Following the first stage of reaction, the second stage of polymerization was carried out with N‐isopropylacryl amide and methacrylic acid as monomers and with Fe3O4/PS latex as seeds. The Fe3O4/PS/[P(NIPAAM–MAA)] thermosensitive magnetic particles were thus obtained. The effects of the ferrofluids on the reaction kinetics, morphology, and particle size of the latex were discussed. A reaction mechanism was proposed in accordance with the morphology observation of the latex particles. The thermosensitive property of the thermosensitive magnetic composite latex was also studied. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 45: 3062–3072, 2007  相似文献

The amphiphilic organoboron block copolymer poly (styreneboronic acid)‐block‐polystyrene ( PSBA‐b‐PS ) has been prepared through a postpolymerization modification route from the silicon‐functionalized block copolymer poly(4‐trimethylsilylstyrene)‐block‐polystyrene ( PSSi‐b‐PS ). PSBA‐b‐PS is obtained through highly selective reaction of PSSi‐b‐PS with BBr3 at room temperature and subsequent hydrolysis of the BBr2‐functionalized intermediate. Transmission electron microscopy studies demonstrate that PSBA‐b‐PS undergoes pH dependent micellization in aqueous solution. Different morphologies could be realized by using different mixtures of water and organic solvents. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 48: 2438–2445, 2010  相似文献

This paper describes a new method to prepare graft copolymers, such as polyethylene‐g‐polystyrene (PE‐g‐PS), with a relatively well‐controlled reaction mechanism. The chemistry involves a transformation process from the metallocene copolymerization of ethylene and m,p‐methylstyrene (m,p‐MS) to nitroxide‐mediated “living” free radical polymerization (LRFP) of styrene. The metallocene catalysis produces ethylene‐co‐m,p‐methylstyrene (EMS) random copolymers. Next, 1‐hydroxyl‐2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidine (HO‐TEMPO) was synthesized by the reduction of TEMPO with sodium ascorbate. The macroinitiator (EMS‐TEMPO) was synthesized with the bromination reaction of EMS, and the following nucleofilic reaction with this functional nitroxyl compound. The resulting macroinitiator (EMS‐TEMPO) for LRFP was then heated in the presence of styrene to form graft copolymer. DSC, 1H‐NMR, FTIR spectroscopy were employed to investigate the structure of the polymers. The results of Molau test showed that PE‐g‐PS could be a potential good compatilizer. The rate of the oxidation of N‐amino‐3‐azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane by chloramine has been studied by GC and HPLC between pH 10.5 and 13.5. The second‐order reaction exhibits specific acid catalysis. The formation of N,N′‐azo‐3‐azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane or 3,4‐diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non‐2‐ene is pH, concentration, and temperature dependent. In alkaline media, the exclusive formation of 3,4‐diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non‐2‐ene is observed. Kinetic studies show that the oxidation of N‐amino‐3‐azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane by chloramine is a multistep process with the initial formation of a diazene‐type intermediate, which is converted by hydroxide ions into 3,4‐diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non‐2‐ene. Because it was not possible to follow the rate of change of the intermediate concentration, to determine the kinetics of 3,4‐diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non‐2‐ene formation, a procedure based on the degeneration of the precursor process was adopted. An appropriate mathematical treatment allowed a quantitative interpretation of all the phenomena observed over the given pH interval. The activation parameters were determined. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 38: 327–338, 2006  相似文献

Novel star‐shaped hard–soft triblock copolymers, 4‐arm poly(styrene)‐block‐poly [poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ethyl methacrylate]‐block‐poly{x‐[(4‐cyano‐4′‐biphenyl) oxy] alkyl methacrylate} (4PS‐PPEGMA‐PMAxLC) (x = 3, 10), with different mesogen spacer length are prepared by atom‐transfer radical polymerization. The star copolymers comprised three different parts: a hard polystyrene (PS) core to ensure the good mechanical property of the solid‐state polymer, and a soft, mobile poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ethyl methacrylate] (PPEGMA) middle sphere responsible for the high ionic conductivity of the solid polyelectrolytes, and a poly{x‐[(4‐cyano‐4′‐biphenyl)oxy]alkyl methacrylate} with a birefringent mesogens at the end of each arm to tuning the electrolytes morphology. The star‐shaped hard–soft block copolymers fusing hard PS core with soft PPEGMA segment can form a flexible and transparent film with dimensional stability. Thermal annealing from the liquid crystalline states allows the cyanobiphenyl mesogens to induce a good assembly of hard and soft blocks, consequently obtaining uniform nanoscale microphase separation morphology, and the longer spacer is more helpful than the shorter one. There the ionic conductivity has been improved greatly by the orderly continuous channel for efficient ion transportation, especially at the elevated temperature. The copolymer 4PS‐PPEGMA‐PMA10LC shows ionic conductivity value of 1.3 × 10?4 S cm?1 (25 °C) after annealed from liquid crystal state, which is higher than that of 4PS‐PPEGMA electrolyte without mesogen groups. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. RAFT grafted montmorillonite (MMT) clays [i.e., N,N‐dimethyl‐N‐(4‐(((phenylcarbonothioyl)thio)methyl)benzyl)ethanammonium‐MMT (PCDBAB‐MMT) and N‐(4‐((((dodecylthio)carbonothioyl)thio)methyl)benzyl)‐N,N‐dimethylethanammo‐nium‐MMT (DCTBAB‐MMT)] of various loadings were dispersed in styrene (S) monomer and the resultant mixtures emulsified and sonicated in the presence of a hydrophobe (hexadecane) into miniemulsions. The stable miniemulsions thus obtained were polymerized to yield encapsulated polystyrene‐clay nanocomposites (PS‐CNs). The molar mass and polydispersity index (PDI) of the PS‐CNs depended on the amount of RAFT agent in the system, in accordance with the features of the RAFT process. The morphology of the PS‐CNs ranged from partially exfoliated to an intercalated morphology, depending on the percentage clay loading. The thermomechanical properties of the PS‐CNs were better than those of the neat PS polymer, and were dependent on the molar mass, PS‐CN morphology and clay loading. The similarities and differences of the PS‐CNs prepared here by miniemulsion polymerization were compared to those prepared using the same RAFT agents and polymer system by bulk polymerization (as reported by us in a previous article). © Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Blends of linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE) with polystyrene (PS) and blends of LLDPE with high‐impact polystyrene (HIPS) were prepared through a reactive extrusion method. For increased compatibility of the two blending components, a Lewis acid catalyst, aluminum chloride (AlCl3), was adopted to initiate the Friedel–Crafts alkylation reaction between the blending components. Spectra data from Raman spectra of the LLDPE/PS/AlCl3 blends extracted with tetrahydrofuran verified that LLDPE segments were grafted to the para position of the benzene rings of PS, and this confirmed the graft structure of the Friedel–Crafts reaction between the polyolefin and PS. Because the in situ generated LLDPE‐g‐PS and LLDPE‐g‐HIPS copolymers acted as compatibilizers in the relative blending systems, the mechanical properties of the LLDPE/PS and LLDPE/HIPS blending systems were greatly improved. For example, after compatibilization, the Izod impact strength of an LLDPE/PS blend (80/20 w/w) was increased from 88.5 to 401.6 J/m, and its elongation at break increased from 370 to 790%. For an LLDPE/HIPS (60/40 w/w) blend, its Charpy impact strength was increased from 284.2 to 495.8 kJ/m2. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs showed that the size of the domains decreased from 4–5 to less than 1 μm, depending on the content of added AlCl3. The crystallization behavior of the LLDPE/PS blend was investigated with differential scanning calorimetry. Fractionated crystallization phenomena were noticed because of the reduction in the size of the LLDPE droplets. The melt‐flow rate of the blending system depended on the competition of the grafting reaction of LLDPE with PS and the degradation of the blending components. The degradation of PS only happened during the alkylation reaction between LLDPE and PS. Gel permeation chromatography showed that the alkylation reaction increased the molecular weight of the blend polymer. The low molecular weight part disappeared with reactive blending. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 41: 1837–1849, 2003  相似文献
