Unusual difficulties are faced in the determination of propagation rate coefficients (kp) of alkyl acrylates by pulsed‐laser polymerization (PLP). When the backbiting is the predominant chain transfer event, the apparent kp of acrylates determined in PLP experiments for different frequencies should range between kp (propagation rate coefficient of the secondary radicals) at high frequency and k at low frequency. The k value could be expressed from kinetic parameters: , where kfp is the backbiting rate coefficient, kp2 is the propagation rate coefficient of mid‐chain radicals, and [M] is the monomer concentration.

Summary: A new water‐soluble cationic ammonium‐functionalized poly(p‐phenylenevinylene) (PPV‐NEtMe) was successfully synthesized and exhibited high sensitivity (Ksv = 6.9 × 107 M −1) on rubredoxin, a type of anionic iron‐sulfur (Fe‐S) proteins. Further investigation showed that the biosensitivity of the cationic conjugated polymer is strongly dependent on the nature of the buffer solution and the concentration of the conjugated polymer used in the analyses.

Three molecules of 5-(bromoacetyl)salicylate ( 1 ) complexed to uranyl UO ion were crosslinked with branchy poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) in DMSO by alkylation of amino groups of PEI with 1, leading to the formation of UO2(Sal) PEI. Upon demetalation of UO2(Sal) PEI with HCl, apo(Sal) PEI was obtained. Based on the pH dependence of log Kf for UO2(Sal) PEI, it was concluded that each uranyl binding site in UO2(Sal) PEI or apo(Sal) PEI contains three salicylate moieties. In terms of the equilibrium constant for formation of the uranyl complex, apo(Sal) PEI was found to be comparable to or better than the previously reported effective uranophiles. In terms of the rates for the formation of the uranyl complex, however, apo(Sal) PEI was far superior to those other uranophiles. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. On the Crystal Structure of O MF (M = Sb, Ru, Pt, Au) OMF (M = Sb, Ru, Pt, Au) were obtained again, but for the first time investigated by X-ray methods. Colourless OSbF and the rubyred compounds ORuF and OPtF crystallize isostructural in space group Ia3 -Th7 (Nr. 206) with a = 1016(1) pm (Sb), a = 1002.6(9) pm (Ru) and a = 1003.6(9) pm (Pt), Z = 8. Yellow OAuF crystallizes trigonal-rhombohedric in space group R3 -D326 (Nr. 148) with a = 775.9(3) pm, c = 711.7(4) pm, Z = 3.  相似文献

19F NMR Spectroscopic Evidence and Calculation of the Statistical Formation of Mixed Cluster Anions [(Mo6I Cl )F ]2?, n = 0–7, and Preparation of (TBA)2[(Mo6I )F ] The octa-μ3-iodo-hexafluoro-hexamolybdate(2?)ion [(Mo6I)F]2? is prepared for the first time. The system of the 21 innersphere mixed clusters (Mo6ICl)4+, n = 0–7 is formed by exchange of innersphere bound Cli against outersphere bound Ia on tempering solid [(Mo6Cl)I] at 400°C. Prolonged tempering leads to increasing average n values of the mixture, which is converted into the tetrabutylammonium salt (TBA)2[(Mo6ICl)F]. Using increments of chemical shifts and integral peak intensities the 54 19F-nmr signals of the 21 species (compound n = 8 is absent) are assigned and confirmed by the 2 D-19F/19F-COSY spectrum. From the measured intensities the distribution of the different compounds is determined and proves significant deviation from statistical occupation, revealing the preference of isomers with iodine atoms occupying edges of the innersphere cube and discrimination of those sharing diagonals of the faces. Moreover all compounds with n = 3 and 4 are present overaverage in comparison to the others.  相似文献

Using combined results of isothermal viscosity measurements and cross-polarized light microscopy on four polyisocyanate/solvent systems, the following were demonstrated: (a) an anisotropic phase appears, associated with a shoulder in the viscosity curve, at a concentration v lower than the peak viscosity at v; (b) the inversion from anisotropic inclusions in an isotropic matrix to isotropic inclusions in an anisotropic matrix, occurs at concentrations v > v and (c) the attainment of a single phase, microscopically anisotropic, occurs at v > v; where the viscosity is decreasing but has not yet reached its minimum. When the experiments were repeated with changes in temperature, the following were observed: (a) within each single phase the viscosity drops with increased temperature; (b) in the biphasic range, the total viscosity η0 remains about constant in the concentration range ≤ and increases with temperature in the range v > v; (c) in the interval v > v of the biphasic range, at constant temperature an increase in concentration decreases η0, and at constant concentration, a decrease in temperature lowers η0. Qualitative explanations of the observations are proposed.  相似文献

In acrylate polymerizations both SPRs and tertiary MCRs occur. Via pulsed laser polymerization, using a wide range of LPRRs, in conjunction with aqueous‐phase size‐exclusion chromatography, the polymerization of 1.35 mol · L−1 acrylic acid in aqueous solution has been investigated at 6 °C. The sigmoidal decrease in the apparent propagation rate coefficient, k, towards lower LPRRs is in line with recent predictions. At the highest LPRRs, k approaches the rate coefficient of SPR propagation, k, whereas the limiting value of k at low LPRRs approaches the effective propagation rate coefficient, k, which allows for an estimate of the fraction of MCRs under polymerization conditions, xMCR.

An ab initio LCAO-MO-SCF calculation was made on the proton affinity (PA ) of methylsilane (CH3SiH3) by using STO -3G, MIDI -1, and MIDI -1* basis sets. Three types of protonated methylsilane are taken into account, and their geometrical parameters are optimized. The calculated PA of CH3SiH3 is 160.5 kcal/mol, which exceeds that of SiH4 by 11.5 kcal/mol. The protonated species (I) which refers to Si—C bond protonation is shown to be most favorable, and to be a weak σ-complex between CH4 and SiH. Other two species are also σ-complexes between H2 molecule and SiH3CH or CH3SiH, and similar to CH, SiH, GeH, and C2H.  相似文献

Aqueous sols of TiO2 (anatase, particle radius 25 Å) were excited with (347.1 nm)-laser light and the reaction of valence-band holes with halide ions (X = I?, Br?, Cl?) was investigated. Hole transfer takes place within the duration of the (10 ns)-laser pulse and results in the formation of anion radicals according to the sequence: The quantum yield of X increases in the order Cl < Br < I, attaining 0.8 for I at pH 1. It is affected by pH, halide concentration and the presence of a protective agent for the sol. RuO2 deposited onto TiO2 enhances markedly Cl and Br -formation, but has no effect on the yield of I. Laser-photolysis investigation of halide oxidation were also carried out with colloidal Fe2O3 (particle radius 600 Å). For I2?formation, the quantum yield exceeds 0.9 indicating almost quantitative hole scavenging by iodide.  相似文献

The formation of superlattices in blends of a series of asymmetric BSV triblock terpolymers and symmetric SV or VC diblock copolymers is investigated with S being polystyrene, B being poly(1,2‐butadiene), V being poly(2‐vinylpyridine), and C being poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate). All of these triblock terpolymers and diblock copolymers by themselves self‐assemble into lamellae. Apart from various core shell morphologies, in these blends some new unexpected superstructures were obtained.

Molecular dynamics was used to study the hydration of superoxide (O). The Helmholtz free energy of hydration of O was estimated by the thermodynamic integration method. Silicon analogs of aromatic monocyclic ions, (SiH) ( 4 ), (SiH) ( 5 ), and (SiH) ( 6 ) have been studied ab initio at MP 2(full)/6-31G *. The D3h structure of Si3H3+ is the global minimum, whereas other two ions are nonplanar. The D2d structure of (SiH) is less folded than the carbon analog and possesses a higher stabilization energy. The synthesis of ethene/propene macromers with a high amount of sterically unhindered vinyl groups is described. These macromers are incorporated as long‐chain branches into polyethylene (PE). The remaining low molecular fractions were removed by Soxhlet extraction. Up to 60 wt.‐% macromer was included, which leads to comb‐like molecular topographies that distinctly affect the rheological behavior. The thermal activation energy increased significantly and the zero shear‐rate viscosity enhancement factor η 0 / η was also changed noticeably.

Summary: The nitroxide‐mediated controlled/living free radical copolymerization of styrene and divinylbenzene using a polystyrene‐TEMPO macroinitiator in aqueous miniemulsion and in bulk have been investigated. The crosslink densities were estimated based on the content of pendant vinyl groups as determined by 1H NMR. Considerably lower crosslink densities were revealed in the miniemulsion than in the corresponding bulk system. The rate of polymerization in the miniemulsion increased with decreasing particle size, and was significantly higher than in bulk.

A simplified analysis is presented for the evaluation of the three‐electron one‐center integrals of the form ∫rrrrrred r 1d r 2d r 3, for the cases i, j, k, ≥−2, l=−2, m≥−1, n≥−1. These integrals arise in the calculation of lower bounds for energy levels and certain relativistic corrections to the energy when Hylleraas‐type basis sets are employed. 19F NMR Spectroscopic Evidence and Calculation of the Statistical Formation of Mixed Cluster Anions [(Mo6Br Cl )F ]2?, n = 0 – 8 The complete system of the innersphere mixed clusters (Mo6BrCl)4+ is formed by exchange of innersphere bound Cli against outersphere bound Bra on tempering the solid [(Mo6Cl)Br] at 500°C for 16 h. After conversion with conc. HCl into (H3O)2[(Mo6BrCl)Cl] and precipitation of the outer Cla with AgBF4 in ethanol, treatment with tetrabutylammonium(TBA)fluoride yields (TBA)2 [(Mo6BrCl)F], a mixture of 22 different species. According to the sets of chemical equivalent fluorine atoms in total 55 19F nmr signals are expected, which are really observed in the high resolution 1D-19F-nmr spectrum. Using increments of chemical shifts, peak intensities and multiplet structures as well as the 2D-19F/19F-COSY spectrum the complete and unambiguous assignment of all resonances is achieved. From the measured integral intensities the distribution of the different compounds is determined, revealing statistical formation of the geometrical isomers.  相似文献

Synthesis, Crystal Structures, and Vibrational Spectra of [(Ph3P)2N]2[(W6Cl )I ] · 2 Et2O · 2 CH2Cl2 and [(Ph3P)2N]2[(W6Cl )(NCS) ] · 2 CH2Cl2 By treatment of [(W6Cl)I]2– with (SCN)2 in dichloromethane at –20 °C the hexaisothiocyanato cluster anion [(W6Cl)(NCS)]2– is formed. X‐ray structure determinations have been performed on single crystals of [(Ph3P)2N]2[(W6Cl)I] · 2 CH2Cl2 · 2 Et2O ( 1 ) (triclinic, space group P1, a = 10.324(5), b = 14.908(3), c = 17.734(8) Å, α = 112.78(2)°, β = 99.13(3)°, γ = 92.02(3)°, Z = 1) and [(Ph3P)2N]2[(W6Cl)(NCS)] · 2 CH2Cl2 ( 2 ) (triclinic, space group P1, a = 11.115(2), b = 14.839(2), c = 17.036(3) Å, α = 104.46(1)°, β = 105.75(2)°, γ = 110.59(1)°, Z = 1). The thiocyanate ligands of 2 are bound exclusively via N atoms with W–N bond lengths of 2.091–2.107 Å, W–N–C angles of 173.1–176.9° and N–C–S angles of 178.1–179.3°. The vibrational spectra exhibit characteristic innerligand vibrations at 2067–2045 (νCN), 879–867 (νCS) and 490–482 (δNCS). Based on the molekular parameters of the X‐ray determination of 1 the vibrational spectra of the corresponding (n‐Bu4N) salt of 1 are assigned by normal coordinate analysis. The valence force constants are fd(WW) = 1.61, fd(WI) = 1.23 and fd(WCl) = 1.10 mdyn/Å.  相似文献

The hybrid orbitals of tetrahedral oxy-ions containing some d character have been calculated by maximum overlap method. The d characters of hybrid orbitals increase in the order of SiO, PO, SO, ClO, and decrease in order of GeO, AsO, SeO, BrO. The bond strengths are also obtained for these ions. The hybrid Orbital of VO, CrO, and MnO are of the type d3s as the result of calculation.  相似文献
