Zum Nachweis von Uran am Ringofen nach Weisz

Zusammenfassung Ein rascher und empfindlicher Urannachweis wird beschrieben. Das Uran wird am Ringofen nachWeisz von störenden Elementen abgetrennt und in eine Natriumfluoridperle eingeschmolzen. Durch die Fluoreszenz der Perle kann die Anwesenheit des Urans erkannt werden. Die Methode läßt sich auch für die Analyse von Mineralen verwenden.

Summary A rapid and sensitive test for uranium is described. The uranium is separated from interfering elements in a Weisz ring oven and fused into a sodium fluoride bead. The presence of uranium can be detected from the fluorescence of the bead. The method can also be used for the analysis of minerals.

Résumé On décrit une méthode de recherche de l'uranium rapide et sensible. L'uranium est séparé des éléments gênants sur le four annulaire deWeisz et fondu dans une perle au fluorure de sodium. On peut mettre en évidence la présence de l'uranium d'après la fluorescence de la perle. On peut aussi utiliser la méthode pour l'analyse des minéraux.

Zum Einfluss des Schwefels bei der Sauerstoffbestimmung nach dem Heissextraktionsverfahren

The results of the determination of oxygen in materials with a high content of sulphur by the method of inert gas fusion may be erroneous because of the production of CS₂. Contrary to earlier investigations, the effect is found not to occur in the case of high sulphur steel (0.22% S) if an impulse-furnace instrument is used. However, when sulphide materials are analysed the interference appears even with very small samples.     

Zum Mechanismus der Ninhydrin-Reduktion nach polarographischen Untersuchungen in methanolischen Lösungen

Zusammenfassung Ergebnisse der polarographischen Reduktion von Ninhydrin in wasserfr. methanol. Lösungen werden mitgeteilt. Der Einfluß von Protonendonatoren (z. B. Benzoesäure) sowie von Substanzen, welche Protonisierungsreaktionen und die Wasserstoffabscheidung katalysieren (z. B. N,N-Dimethyl-p-phenylendiamin=DMPD) wird ermittelt. Unter bestimmten Bedingungen wird auch die dritte, soloatisierte Ketogruppe reduzierbar. Die Desoloatation wird auf die stufenweise Abdissoziation von H⁺ und OH^– bzw. OR^– zurückgeführt.Das an der Elektrodenoberfläche adsorbierteDMPD wirkt bei der Reduktion der freien Ketogruppen als Protonenüberträger, bei der Reduktion der soloatisierten aber auch als Protonenakzeptor.Die exper. Ergebnisse der polarographischen Reduktion in methanol. Lösung stützen den aus vorangegangenen Untersuchungen in wäßr. Lösung aufgestellten Reduktionsmechanismus.

The polarographic behaviour of ninhydrin is investigated in water-free methanolic solutions. The effect of addition of protondonors (e.g., benzoic acid) and of substances catalyzing protontransfer-and hydrogen-discharge-reactions (e.g., N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine=DMPD) on the characteristics of the polarographic waves is described. Under well defined conditions all three keto-groups can be reduced. The reduction of the soloated keto-group involves the elimination of water by stepwise dissociation of H⁺ and OH^– (OR^–) ions. DMPD, adsorbed on the surface of the electrode, acts as proton-carrier in the reduction of the two free keto-groups, and also as proton-acceptor in the reduction of the third, soloated group.The experimental results of the polarographic reduction of ninhydrin in methanol confirm the mechanism of reduction in aqueous solutions previously presented.

Zum Nachweis des Thoriums mit Alizarin S und seine Bestimmung am Ringofen nach Weisz

Zusammenfassung Zum Nachweis des Thoriums bewährte sich als Reagens eine wäßrige, perhydrol- und ammomumnitrathaltige Alizarin S-Lösung. Da Alizarin kein spezifisches Reagens für Thorium ist, wird ein Analysengang beschrieben, der sich zur Entfernung störender Substanzen aus Mineralen eignet. Das dabei erhaltene Thoriumnitrat kann am Ringofen quantitativ bestimmt werden.

Summary Aqueous alizarin S solution along with perliydrol and ammonium nitrate was found suitable for the detection of thorium. Since alizarin is not a specific reagent for thorium, an analytical procedure is described, which is suitable for the removal of interfering substances from minerals. The thorium nitrate obtained in this way can be determined quantitatively on the ring oven.

Résumé On a utilisé pour la recherche du thorium, une solution aqueuse d'alizarine S avec le perhydrol et le nitrate d'ammonium. Comme l'alizarine n'est pas un réactif spécifique du thorium, on a décrit un procédé d'analyse qui permet l'élimination des substances gênantes à partir des minéraux. On peut doser quantitativement le nitrate de thorium alors obtenu, à l'aide du four annulaire.

Zum Problem der Selektivität von Pyrrolsynthesen: Isomere und Homologe bei synthesen nach Fischer—Fink

In the course of theFischer—Fink synthesis not only the expected esters of alkylpyrrole-2-carboxylic acids are obtained, but isomers and homologues as well. Their formation can be avoided by suitable variations of the starting materials. The product ratios were analyzed by means of gas chromatography.
