导模共振滤波器由于其高峰值反射率,低旁带反射,窄带以及带宽可控等优良特性引起了人们极大的关注,采用亚波长光栅的导模共振效应可以实现传统基于高低折射率介质的多层膜滤波器所无法实现的特殊功能,在弱调制模式下,其共振带宽可以被压缩到零点几纳米,但是由于介质表面和空气层的菲涅耳反射,使得偏离或者远离共振区时的反射率偏高,根据等效介质理论,亚波长光栅在远离共振区可以被看为均匀的薄膜,本文通过对导模共振光栅进行单层、双层以及三层抗反射设计,有效的降低了导模共振光栅的旁带反射率,从而在可见光波段获得了性能优良的共振滤波  相似文献

In this paper, we design resonant reflection grating filters employing the second diffracted orders as the leaky modes, then analyze the bandwidth of the reflection peak and the electric field distributions inside the waveguide under resonance. The numeric calculation confirms that ultra-narrow resonant reflection peaks can be observed in these structures. At the same time, strong electric field enhancement appears under resonance. It provides a new approach to diversify the resonant reflection filters and may open a new way to the realization of ultra-narrow bandwidth filters.  相似文献

Guided-mode resonant grating filters have numerous applications. However, in weakly modulated gratings designed for use at normal incidence, the filtering resonance of these subwavelength-period devices splits for angles of incidence that are even slightly off normal incidence. Strongly modulated gratings are designed that essentially overcome this practical problem near normal incidence. In addition, these gratings can have, by design, either broad or narrow spectral characteristics. An experimental demonstration (1.5-2.0-mu m wavelength range) of such a normal-incidence guided-mode resonant silicon grating upon a sapphire substrate is presented. The measured reflection resonance had a FWHM of 67-100 nm for angles of incidence of 0-8 degrees and peak efficiency of ~80% .  相似文献

A mixed metal dielectric sandwiched grating is described for polarization-selective reflection. The novel grating is composed of substrate, metal slab, two dielectric grating layers, and covering layer. The polarization-selective grating is optimized by using rigorous coupled-wave analysis for the usual duty cycle of 0.5. With the optimized grating parameters, reflective efficiency of 96.49% can be diffracted into the −1st order for TE polarization. And two-port output of 48.26%/48.27% can be diffracted into the 0th and the −1st orders for TM polarization. Polarization-selective reflection with good performance can be obtained by the mixed metal dielectric sandwiched grating. The usual duty cycle of 0.5 makes it easy and simple to be fabricated for practical applications. Moreover, the polarization-selective beam splitter based on the mixed metal dielectric sandwiched grating has advantages of wide incident wavelength range for TE polarization and angular bandwidth for TM polarization.  相似文献

A spectrally single resonant and widely tunable, ultrathin cladding long-period fiber grating (UCLPG) is demonstrated in the present paper. Both experimental and theoretical analyses of the characteristics for the proposed device are accomplished. Since the single resonant and widely tunable characteristics of the proposed UCLPG are strongly influenced by the waveguide structure and surrounding material, both material dispersion and waveguide dispersion were included in the calculation for determining the wideband tuning range and resonant spectra of the UCLPG. The tuning range covered wavelength from 1.41 to 1.56 μm for the variation of refractive index of 1–1.445 (optical liquid n D 1:456 for λ 1:5 mm) is achieved in the study.  相似文献

One can increase the angular tolerance of resonant grating filters without modifying the spectral bandwidth by adding a second grating component parallel to the first one. The angular tolerance and the filter linewidth can be controlled by the designer in an independent way. Numerical results show that this property permits the use of waveguide-grating filters with standard collimated beams.  相似文献

Porous silicon reflection interference filters of Bragg type consists of up to 40 quarter wave layers with alternating high- and low-refraction index. The refraction index depends on the porosity of the silicon. The reflection wavelength can vary over a wide range and depends on the thickness and refraction index of the porous layers. A laterally continuously varying wavelength with linear profile of the filter can be achieved by manipulating the porosity and thickness of the silicon in the lateral direction. Our approach is to vary the Fermi level laterally by applying a potential parallel to the surface of the wafer. The slope of the Fermi level is easily controlled by the magnitude of the potential. The lateral current density and thus the porosity and thickness is related to the potential difference between the laterally varying Fermi level and the potential induced by the counter electrode. This relation is the well-known current–voltage characteristic of a Silicon hydrofluoric acid contact. The linearity of the etch profile across the wafer is demonstrated and the properties of preliminary reflection filters are shown.  相似文献

基于傅里叶模式理论分析了双层浮雕型导模共振光栅的共振效应,分别讨论了光栅的槽深、剩余厚度、周期以及填充系数对峰值反射率、带宽、旁带反射率的影响. 数据计算表明,欠刻蚀情形的误差宽容度远远优于过刻蚀情形,两者在光栅槽深相对误差小于15%的范围内,都能保证共振峰的衍射效率高于99.5%,在相同的误差范围内,共振峰线宽的相对误差将分别达到7%和60%,因此厚度误差集中反映在对共振线宽的改变上. 另外,光栅周期和填充系数的变化将明显改变共振峰中心波长和线宽. 关键词: 导模共振 平面波导 窄带滤波  相似文献

An account is given of the application of thin-film interference to the production of both anti-reflection and high-reflection coatings on glass, and the more recent developments of multiple-film, Fabry-Perot, and frustrated total internal reflection filters. A one-dimensional transmission color filter based on a resonant waveguide-metallic subwavelength grating was numerically investigated by employing rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) and genetic algorithm (GA). The hybrid numerical method is used to determine the optimal parameters (the grating period, filling factor, grating thickness, and waveguide thickness) of two waveguide-grating structures, namely a double-layer resonant waveguide-metallic grating and a triple-layer resonant waveguide-metallic grating. The optical responses of these structures are evaluated and compared in terms of the ideal transmission efficiency aiming at the central wavelengths of 645 nm, 546 nm, and 455 nm of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) lights, respectively, over the visible region (380–780 nm). The results show that the optical performance of the double-layer with silver grating achieves the highest transmission efficiency of 82% (R), 81% (G), and 66% (B); and the largest bandwidth of about 125 nm (R), 118 nm (G), and 85 nm (B). Compared with existing color filters, the proposed device not only obtains a higher transmission and broader bandwidth, but it also suppresses redundant spectral peaks and transmission sidebands.  相似文献

We present a novel narrow band filter operating in both transmission and reflection for the first time to our knowledge. This proposed structure consists of one unsymmetrical dielectric Fabry-Perot cavity and an ultrathin metal film with n ≈ k. Theoretical analysis shows that both the reflectance and transmittance at the central wavelength are maximums. Due to the high absorption induced by the metal, a good rejection level can be obtained for a wide spectral range. In addition, the changes of peak value ratio Rmax/Tmax is also investigated by adjusting the amount of dielectric stacks. We finally demonstrate the experimental results to verify these designs.  相似文献

The reflection grating method is a special case of the well-known reflection moiré principle. Whereas this moiré effect is suitable for measurement of the slope and curvature of deformed object surfaces by superposition of at least two grating images, the same results can be determined using only one reflected grating image without moiré lines.Some fundamental relationships between grating lines, optical setup and the desired deformation are developed and compared with the simplifications that are known from the moiré principle. The boundary-value problem of the reflection and transmission of light by a composite structure, wherein a surface-relief dielectric grating is coupled to a structurally chiral volume grating, has been formulated and solved with results showing the robust co-existence of phenomena characteristic of both types of grating: namely, Rayleigh–Wood anomalies and Bragg phenomena. A mechanism to strengthen the coupling between both grating types is included – namely, a quarter wave plate – whose birefringence converts normally incident linearly polarised light at the Bragg wavelength into transmitted circularly polarised light (and vice versa). It is possible to tailor the period of the sinusoidally corrugated surface-relief grating such that the scattering of obliquely incident light from above, by the surface grating, will lead to a specific non-specular order being scattered onto a path which is normally incident on the rest of the composite structure. Significantly, such orders exhibit the circular Bragg phenomenon in reflection and transmission only if both grating types are present, making this a “truly” coupled effect.  相似文献

Various planar dielectric grating diffraction theories are reviewed for the case of a general sinusoidal permittivity planar grating with slanted fringes and plane wave incidence at an arbitrary angle. Exact formulations without approximations (rigorous coupled-wave analysis and rigorous modal analysis) are developed first. Then, using a series of fundamental assumptions, rigorous theory is shown to reduce to the various approximate theories in the appropriate limits. The implications of these fundamental assumptions are discussed.  相似文献

These results are then introduced in the coupled wave analysis of the structure of finite extent to provide the field at the entrance of the waveguide grating section where the usual overlap integral with the incident field delivers the reflection coefficient. A guided-mode resonance (GMR) filter with wide angular tolerances is experimentally demonstrated as an authentication label illuminated with unpolarized white light. The proposed filter, based on a free-standing silicon nitride membrane suspended on a silicon substrate, is fabricated by using anisotropic wet etching to remove the substrate beneath the silicon nitride layer. Both grating and waveguide structures without a lower cladding layer, i.e., a substrate, are fabricated simultaneously on a silicon nitride membrane. Since the silicon nitride is transparent within the spectra of visible and infrared light, such suspended-membrane-type GMR filters are well suited for applications within the visible spectrum. Moreover, the high refractive index of silicon nitride allows the proposed filters to have strongly modulated gratings and an immunity to high angular deviation. The measured reflection resonance has an angular tolerance up to +/-5 degrees under normal incidence for the wavelength of 629.5 nm.  相似文献
