A sandwich structured substrate was designed for quantitative molecular detection using surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), in which the probe molecule was sandwiched between silver nanoparticles (SNPs) and silver nanoarrays. The SNPs was prepared using Lee-Meisel method, and the silver nanoarrays was fabricated on porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) using electrodepositing method. The SERS studies show that the sandwich structured substrate exhibits good stability and reproducibility, and the detection sensitivity of Rhodamine 6G (R6G) and Melamine can respectively reach up to 10(-19) M and 10(-9) M, which is improved greatly as compared to other SERS substrates. The improved SERS sensitivity is closely associated with the stronger electromagnetic field enhancement, which stems from localized surface plasmon (LSP) coupling between the two silver nanostructures. Furthermore, the SERS intensity increased almost linearly as the mother concentration increased, which indicates that such a sandwich structure may be used as a good SERS substrate for quantitative analysis.  相似文献

Active surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) silver nanoparticles substrate was prepared by multiple depositions of Ag nanoparticles on glass slides. The substrate is based on five depositions of Ag nanoparticles on 3-aminopropyl-trimetoxisilane (APTMS) modified glass slides, using APTMS sol–gel as linker molecules between silver layers. The SERS performance of the substrate was investigated using 4-aminobenzenethiol (4-ABT) as Raman probe molecule. The spectral analyses reveal a 4-ABT Raman signal enhancement of band intensities, which allow the detection of this compound in different solutions. The average SERS intensity decreases significantly in 4-ABT diluted solutions (from 10−4 to 10−6 mol L−1), but the compound may still be detected with high signal/noise ratio. The obtained results demonstrate that the Ag nanoparticles sensor has a great potential as SERS substrate.  相似文献

Graphene shells with a controllable number of layers were directly synthesized on Cu nanoparticles (CuNPs) by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) to fabricate a graphene‐encapsulated CuNPs (G/CuNPs) hybrid system for surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The enhanced Raman spectra of adenosine and rhodamine 6G (R6G) showed that the G/CuNPs hybrid system can strongly suppress background fluorescence and increase signal‐to‐noise ratio. In four different types of SERS systems, the G/CuNPs hybrid system exhibits more efficient SERS than a transferred graphene/CuNPs hybrid system and pure CuNPs and graphene substrates. The minimum detectable concentrations of adenosine and R6G by the G/CuNPs hybrid system can be as low as 10?8 and 10?10 M , respectively. The excellent linear relationship between Raman intensity and analyte concentration can be used for molecular detection. The graphene shell can also effectively prevent surface oxidation of Cu nanoparticles after exposure to ambient air and thus endow the hybrid system with a long lifetime. This work provides a basis for the fabrication of novel SERS substrates.  相似文献

Prevalent contamination of water by cadmium ion (Cd2+) brings environmental risk, which threatening to human health including renal dysfunction, reduced lung capacity, and some cancers. It calls for rapid, sensitive and selective protocol to analyze Cd2+ on field. In this work, specific Raman probe is rationally designed by gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) functionalized with tripeptide glutathione (GSH) and Rhodamine 6G (R6G) (denoted as R6G/GSH/AuNPs), which is explored for indirectly determining trace Cd2+ in river water. Based on chelating interaction between GSH and Cd2+ to form tetrahedral Cd(SG)4, which trends easy detachment from R6G/GSH/AuNPs. With increasing Cd2+ concentration, the Raman probe without protection of GSH happens due aggregation and Raman signal of R6G increases correspondingly. The R6G/GSH/AuNPs-based Raman detection of Cd2+ in river water shows rapidness, excellent sensitivity, selectivity and good repeatability. Limit of detection of 10 ppb with a widely linear range of 0.5–20 ppm could be achieved. It could be perspective that such Raman probe could be extended to be used for on-site monitoring trace Cd2+ in river water system.  相似文献

The Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method based on gold nanoparticles as SERS substrate was investigated for the label-free detection and quantification of probiotic bacteria that are widely used in various pharmaceutical formulations. Indeed, the development of a simple and fast SERS method dedicated to the quantification of bacteria should be very useful for the characterization of such formulations in a more convenient way than the usually performed tedious and time-consuming conventional counting method. For this purpose, uncoated near-spherical gold nanoparticles were developed at room temperature by acidic treatment of star-like gold nanoparticle precursors. In this study, we first investigated the influence of acidic treatment conditions on both the nanoparticle physicochemical properties and SERS efficiency using Rhodamine 6G (R6G) as “model” analyte. Results highlighted that an effective R6G Raman signal enhancement was obtained by promoting chemical effect through R6G-anion interactions and by obtaining a suitable aggregation state of the nanoparticles. Depending on the nanoparticle synthesis conditions, R6G SERS signals were up to 102–103-fold greater than those obtained with star-like gold nanoparticles. The synthesized spherical gold nanoparticles were then successfully applied for the detection and quantification of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG). In that case, the signal enhancement was especially due to the combination of anion-induced chemical enhancement and nanoparticle aggregation on LGG cell wall consecutive to non-specific interactions. Both the simplicity and speed of the procedure, achieved under 30 min, including nanoparticle synthesis, sample preparation, and acquisition of SERS spectra, appeared as very relevant for the characterization of pharmaceutical formulations incorporating probiotics.

Uniform and dense Au nanoparticles grown on Ge (Au/Ge) were fabricated by a facile galvanic displacement method and employed as surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates. The substrates exhibited excellent reproducibility in the detection of rhodamine 6G aqueous solution with a relative standard deviation of <20%. The substrate showed a high Raman enhancement factor of 3.44 × 106. This superior SERS sensitivity was numerical confirmed by the three‐dimensional finite‐difference time‐domain method, which demonstrated a stronger electric field intensity (|E/E0|2) distribution around the Au nanoparticles grown on Ge. This facile and low‐cost prepared Au/Ge substrate with high SERS sensitivity and reproducibility might have potential applications in monitoring in situ reaction in aqueous solution. This paper reports the synthesis of a new class of NaLnF(4)-Ag (Ln = Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Ho) hybrid nanorice and its application as a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate in chemical analyses. Rice-shaped NaLnF(4) nanoparticles as templates are prepared by a modified hydrothermal method. Then, the NaLnF(4) nanorice particles are decorated with Ag nanoparticles by magnetron sputtering method to form NaLnF(4)-Ag hybrid nanostructures. The high-density Ag nanogaps on NaLnF(4) can be obtained by the prolonging sputtering times or increasing the sputtering powers. These nanogaps can serve as Raman 'hot spots', leading to dramatic enhancement of the Raman signal. The NaLnF(4)-Ag hybrid nanorice is found to be robust and is an efficient SERS substrate for the vibrational spectroscopic characterization of molecular adsorbates; the Raman enhancement factor of Rhodamine 6G (R6G) absorbed on NaLnF(4)-Ag nanorice is estimated to be about 10(13). Since the produced NaLnF(4)-Ag hybrid nanorice particles are firmly fastened on a silicon wafer, they can serve as universal SERS substrates to detect target analytes. We also evaluate their SERS performances using 4-mercaptopyridine (Mpy), and 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (MBA) molecules, and the detection limit for Mpy and MBA is as low as 10(-12) M and 10(-10) M, respectively, which meets the requirements of the ultratrace detection of analytes. This simple and highly efficient approach to the large-scale synthesis of NaLnF(4)-Ag nanorice with high SERS activity and sensitivity makes it a perfect choice for practical SERS detection applications.  相似文献

Sensitive detection of molecules by using the surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technique depends on the nanostructured metallic substrate and many efforts have been devoted to the preparation of SERS substrates with high sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility. Herein, we report on the fabrication of stable monolithic nanoporous silver (NPS) by chemical dealloying of Ag–Al precursor alloys with an emphasis on the effect of structural evolution on SERS signals. It was found that the dealloying conditions had great influence on the morphology (the ligament/pore size) and the crystallization status, which determined the SERS signal of rhodamine 6G on the NPS. NPS with small pores, low residual Al, and perfect crystallization gave high SERS signals. A high enhancement factor of 7.5×105 was observed on bare NPS obtained by dealloying Ag30Al70 in 2.5 wt % HCl at room temperature followed by 15 min aging at around 85 °C. After coating Ag nanoparticles on the NPS surface, the enhancement factor increased to 1.6×108 owing to strong near‐field coupling between the ligaments and nanoparticles.

An ultrasensitive surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) method has been designed to selectively and sensitively detect lysozyme. The gold chip as the detection substrate, the aptamer‐based target‐triggering cascade multiple cycle amplification, and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) bio‐barcode Raman probe enhancement on the gold substrate are employed to enhance the SERS signals. The cascade amplification process consists of the nicking enzyme signaling amplification (NESA), the strand displacement amplification (SDA), and the circular‐hairpin‐assisted exponential amplification reaction (HA‐EXPAR). With the involvement of an aptamer‐based probe, two amplification reaction templates, and a Raman probe, the whole circle amplification process is triggered by the target recognition of lysozyme. The products of the upstream cycle (NESA) could act as the “DNA trigger” of the downstream cycle (SDA and circular HA‐EXPAR) to generate further signal amplification, resulting in the immobility of abundant AuNPs Raman probes on the gold substrate. “Hot spots” are produced between the Raman probe and the gold film, leading to significant SERS enhancement. This detection method exhibits excellent specificity and sensitivity towards lysozyme with a detection limit of 1.0×10?15 M . Moreover, the practical determination of lysozyme in human serum demonstrates the feasibility of this SERS approach in the analysis of a variety of biological specimens.  相似文献

Plasmonic nanomaterials possessing large‐volume, high‐density hot spots with high field enhancement are highly desirable for ultrasensitive surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensing. However, many as‐prepared plasmonic nanomaterials are limited in available dense hot spots and in sample size, which greatly hinder their wide applications in SERS devices. Here, we develop a two‐step physical deposition protocol and successfully fabricate 3D hierarchical nanostructures with highly dense hot spots across a large scale (6 × 6 cm2). The nanopatterned aluminum film was first prepared by thermal evaporation process, which can provide 3D quasi‐periodic cloud‐like nanostructure arrays suitable for noble metal deposition; then a large number of silver nanoparticles with controllable shape and size were decorated onto the alumina layer surfaces by laser molecular beam epitaxy, which can realize large‐area accessible dense hot spots. The optimized 3D‐structured SERS substrate exhibits high‐quality detection performance with excellent reproducibility (13.1 and 17.1%), whose LOD of rhodamine 6G molecules was 10?9 M. Furthermore, the as‐prepared 3D aluminum/silver SERS substrate was applied in detection of melamine with the concentration down to 10?7 M and direct detection of melamine in infant formula solution with the concentration as low 10 mg/L. Such method to realize large‐area hierarchical nanostructures can greatly simplify the fabrication procedure for 3D SERS platforms, and should be of technological significance in mass production of SERS‐based sensors.  相似文献

In this work, we proposed a novel three-dimensional (3D) plasmonic nanostructure based on porous graphene/nickel foam (GNF) and gas-phase deposited Ag nanoparticles (NPs).Ag NPs with high density were directly deposited on the surface of 3D GNF by performing a novel cluster beam deposition approach. In comparison with traditional Ag substrate(SiO2/Ag), such hot-spots enriched 3D nanostructure showed extremely high electromag-netic field enhancement under incident light irradiation which could be used as a sensitive chemical sensor based on surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed nanostructure showed superior SERS performance in terms of Raman signal reproducibility and sensitivity for the probe molecules. 3D full-wave simulation showed that the enhanced SERS performance in this 3D hierarchical plasmonic nanostructure was mainly obtained from the hot-spots between Ag NPs and the near-field coupling between Ag NPs and GNF sca olds. This work can provide a novel assembled SERS substrate as a SERS-based chemical sensor in practical applications.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose two new approaches for preparing active substrates for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). In the first approach (method 1), one transfers AgI nanoparticles capped by negatively charged mercaptoacetic acid from a AgI colloid solution onto a quartz slide and then deoxidizes AgI to Ag nanoparticles on the substrate. The second approach (method 2) deoxidizes AgI to Ag nanoparticles in a colloid solution and then transfers the Ag nanoparticles capped by negatively charged mercaptoacetic acid onto a quartz slide. By transfer of the AgI/Ag nanoparticles from the colloid solutions to the solid substrates, the problem of instability of the colloid solutions can largely be overcome. The films thus prepared by both approaches retain the merits of metal colloid solutions while they discharge their shortcomings. Accordingly, the obtained Ag particle films are very suitable as SERS active substrates. SERS active substrates with different coverages can be formed in a layer-by-layer electrostatic assembly by exposing positively charged surfaces to the colloid solutions containing oppositely charged AgI/Ag nanoparticles. The SERS active substrates fabricated by the two novel methods have been characterized by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The results of AFM and UV-vis spectroscopy show that the Ag nanoparticles grow with the increase in the number of coverage and that most of them remain isolated even at high coverages. Consequently, the surface optical properties are dominated by the absorption due to the isolated Ag nanoparticles. The relationship between SERS intensity and surface morphology of the new active substrates has been investigated for Rhodamine 6G (R6G) adsorbed on them. It has been found that the SERS enhancement depends on the size and aggregation of the Ag particles on the substrates. Especially, we can obtain a stronger SERS signal from the substrate prepared by method 1, implying that for the metal nanoparticles capped with stabilizer molecules such as mercaptoacetic acid, the in situ deoxidization in the film is of great use in preparing SERS active substrates. Furthermore, we have found that the addition of Cl- into the AgI colloid solution changes the surface morphology of the SERS active substrates and favors stronger SERS enhancement.  相似文献

Graphene Quantum dots (GQDs) are used as a surface-enhanced Raman substrate for detecting target molecules with large specific surface areas and more accessible edges to enhance the signal of target molecules. The electrochemical process is used to synthesize GQDs in the solution-based process from which the SERS signals were obtained from GQDs Raman spectra. In this work, GQDs were grown via the electrochemical process with citric acid and potassium chloride (KCl) electrolyte solution to obtain GQDs in a colloidal solution-based format. Then, GQDs were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and Raman spectroscopy, respectively. From the results, SERS signals had observed via GQDs spectra through the Raman spectra at D (1326 cm−1) and G (1584 cm−1), in which D intensity is defined as the presence of defects on GQDs and G is the sp2 orbital of carbon signal. The increasing concentration of KCl in the electrolyte solution for 0.15M to 0.60M demonstrated the increment of Raman intensity at the D peak of GQDs up to 100 over the D peak of graphite. This result reveals the potential feasibility of GQDs as SERS applications compared to graphite signals.  相似文献
