In 1981, Hayman and Wu proved that for any simply connected domain Ω and any Riemann mappingF: Ω →D,F′ ∈ L1 (L ∩ Ω), whereL is any line in the complex plane. Several years later, Fernández, Heinonen and Martio showed that there is anε > 0 such thatF′ ∈ L1+∈(L ∩ Ω). The question arises as to which curves other than lines satisfy such a statement. A curve Γ is said to be Ahlfors-David regular if there is a constantA such that for any B(x, r) (the disk of radiusr centered atx), l(Γ ∩ B(x, r))≤ Ar. The major result of the paper is the following theorem: Let Γ be an Ahlfors-David regular curve with constantA. Then there exists an > 0, depending only onA, such thatF′ ∈ L1+∈(Γ ∩ Ω). This result is the synthesis of the extension of Fernández, Heinonen and Martio, and the result of Bishop and Jones showing thatF′ ∈ L1(Γ ∩ Ω). The proof of the results uses a stopping-time argument which seeks out places in the curve where small pieces may be added in order to control the portions of the curve where |F′ | is large. This is accomplished with an estimate on the vanishing of the harmonic measure of the curve in such places. The paper also includes simpler arguments for the special cases where Γ = ∂Ω and Γ ⊂Ω.  相似文献

Assuming that there exists in the unit interval [0, 1] a coanalytic set of continuum cardinality without any perfect subset, we show the existence of a scattered compact Hausdorff spaceK with the following properties: (i) For each continuous mapf on a Baire spaceB into (C(K), pointwise), the set of points of continuity of the mapf: B → (C(K), norm) is a denseG δ subset ofB, and (ii)C(K) does not admit a Kadeč norm that is equivalent to the supremum norm. We prove a Bernstein type inequality involving the Bergman and Hardy norms for rational functions in the unit disk \mathbb D {\mathbb D} that have at most n poles all of which are outside the disk \frac1r \mathbb D \frac{1}{r} {\mathbb D} , 0 < r < 1. The asymptotic sharpness of this inequality is shown as n → ∞ and r → 1—. We apply our Bernstein type inequality to an efficient Nevanlinna–Pick interpolation problem in the standard Dirichlet space constrained by the H2-nom. Bibliography: 14 titles.  相似文献

In Propositions 1.6 and 7.6 of his paper onp-group complexes of finite groups [5], Quillen establishes fundamental results comparing the homology and the fundamental group of the order complexes of posetsP, Q admitting a mapf :PQ of posets with good local behavior. We prove the analogue of Quillen’s results for mapsf :KL of simplicial complexesK andL in a more general setup. This work was partially supported by BSF 88-00164. Given a non-linear elliptic equation of monotone type in a bounded open set Ω ⊂ Rn, we prove that the asymptotic behaviour, asj → ∞, of the solutions of the Dirichlet problems corresponding to a sequence (Ωj) of open sets contained in Ω is uniquely determined by the asymptotic behaviour, asj → ∞, of suitable non-linear capacities of the sets j, whereK runs in the family of all compact subsets of Ω.  相似文献

Let Ω and Π be two domains in the extended complex plane equipped by the Poincaré metric. In this paper we obtain analogs of Schwarz-Pick type inequalities in the class A(Ω, gH) = {f: Ω → Π} of functions locally holomorphic in Ω; for the domain Ω we consider the exterior of the unit disk and the upper half-plane. The obtained results generalize the well-known theorems of Szász and Ruscheweyh about the exact estimates of derivatives of analytic functions defined on the disk |z| < 1.  相似文献

We study the problem of determining for which integrable functionsG:R → (0, ∞) the operatorf → 1/yG(y.) *f(x), which maps functions on the real line into functions defined on the upper half-planeR + 2 , is of weak type (1,1). Here,R + 2 is endowed with the measurey dx dy. The conditions we will impose are related to the distribution of the mass ofG. One of the motivations for this study comes from the problem of deciding whether there is a weak type (1,1) inequality for the “rough” modification of the standard maximal function, obtained by inserting in the mean values a factor Ω which depends only on the angle. Here, Ω≥0 is any integrable function on the sphere. Our estimates for the first-mentioned problem allow us to answer in the affirmative, the second one in dimension two, when we restrict the operator to radial functions. We consider the boundary blowup problem for k-curvature equation, i.e., H k [u] = f(u) g(|Du|) in an n-dimensional domain Ω, with the boundary condition u(x) → ∞ as dist (x,∂Ω) → 0. Let n > 1 and let C n denote the complex n-dimensional Euclidean space. We prove several jet-interpolation results for nowhere degenerate entire mappings F:C nC n and for holomorphic automorphisms of C n on discrete subsets of C n.We also prove an interpolation theorem for proper holomorphic embeddings of Stein manifolds into C n.For each closed complex submanifold (or subvariety) M ⊂ C n of complex dimension m < n we construct a domain ΩC n containing M and a biholomorphic map F: Ω → C n onto C n with J F ≡ 1such that F(M) intersects the image of any nondegenerate entire map G:C n−mC n at infinitely many points. If m = n − 1, we construct F as above such that C nF(M) is hyperbolic. Let G : Ω→Ω' be a closed unital map between commutative, unital quantales. G induces a functor G^- from the category of Ω-categories to that of Ω'-categories. This paper is concerned with some basic properties of G^-. The main results are: (1) when Ω, Ω' are integral, G : Ω→Ω' and F : Ω'→Ω are closed unital maps, F is a left adjoint of G^- if and only if F is a left adjoint of G; (2) G^- is an equivalence of categories if and only if G is an isomorphism in the category of commutative unital quantales and closed unital maps; and (3) a sufficient condition is obtained for G^- to preserve completeness in the sense that GA is a complete Ω'-category whenever A is a complete Ω-category.  相似文献

Let Ω be a disk of radius R in the plane. A set F of unit disks contained in Ω forms a maximal packing if the unit disks are pairwise interior-disjoint and the set is maximal, i.e., it is not possible to add another disk to F while maintaining the packing property. A point p is hidden within the “forest” defined by F if any ray with apex p intersects some disk of F, that is, a person standing at p can hide without being seen from outside the forest. We show that if the radius R of Ω is large enough, one can find a hidden point for any maximal packing of unit disks in Ω. This proves a conjecture of Joseph Mitchell. We also present an O(n 5/2log n)-time algorithm that, given a forest with n (not necessarily congruent) disks, computes the boundary illumination map of all disks in the forest.  相似文献

We construct the Chow ringCH*(X) =CH 0 (X)⊕CH 1 (X)⊕CH 2 (X) of a reduced, quasi-projective surfaceX, together with Chern class mapsc i :K 0 (X) → CH i (X), with the usual properties. For homomorphisms between groups, one can divide out the kernel to get an injection. Here, we develop a notion of kernels for maps between classifying spaces of compact Lie groups. We show that the kernel is a normal subgroup in a modified sense and prove a generalization of a theorem of Quillen, namely, a mapf:BGBH p is injective, iff the induced map in mod-p cohomology is finite. Moreover, for compact connected Lie groups, every mapf:BGBH p factors over a quotient ofG in a modified sense and this factorisation is an injection.  相似文献
