Three coordinated, T-shaped (PNP)MI (M = Co, Ru, Rh, Os and Ir) and [(PCP)Pt0]−, as well as their reactivities for intra- and intermolecular C-H activation have been studied by DFT methods. The experimental observed reactivities were well reproduced. The calculation also generated structural and energetic information which the experimental values were not yet available. We found that the intramolecular C-H activation is in general possible for the low spin (PNP)MI. Intermolecular C-H activation is not preferred either thermodynamically or kinetically, but could be in competition if the intramolecular activation is reversible. Using model compounds, we found that the intramolecular C-H activation reactivity is not sensitive to steric effects of the bulky ligands. However, the strain of the four-membered ring in the product significantly reduces the reactivity, and the driving force increases by 4.51-12.95 kcal/mol if the strain was largely removed by changing from a four-membered ring to a five-membered ring. The C-H activation step is quite difficult for metals with a d10 configuration. Part of the reason is that one phosphine ligand dissociates during the reaction because the product has a d8 configuration and prefers a square planar structure. 相似文献

Room temperature reversible C-H activation mediated by a designed diphosphine platinum complex is presented. These findings are demonstrated through mechanistic studies involving kinetics, isotopic effects, and corroborated by DFT calculations. The coupling between two unactivated aromatic derivatives is also demonstrated. 相似文献

Density functional calculations on the low-temperature cyclometalation of dimethylbenzylamine with [IrCl2Cp*]2/NaOAc have characterized a novel electrophilic activation pathway for C-H bond activation. C-H activation occurs from [Ir(DMBA-H)(kappa2-OAc)Cp*]+, and OAc plays a central role in determining the barrier for reaction. Dissociation of the proximal OAc arm sets up a facile intramolecular deprotonation via a geometrically convenient six-membered transition state. Dissociation of the distal OAc arm, however, leads to a higher energy four-membered (sigma-bond metathesis) transition state, while oxidative addition is even higher in energy. For this Ir3+ system, these three mechanisms appear to lie within a continuum in which the participation of the metal center and an H-accepting ancillary ligand are inversely related. The ability of the ancillary ligand to act as a proton acceptor is the key factor in determining which mechanism pertains. 相似文献

The PCP-Rh(I) complex 1a based on the [1,3-phenylenebis(methylene)]bis(diisopropylphosphine) ligand reacts with [diazo(phenyl)methyl]trimethylstannane (2) at room temperature to give novel pincer-type phenyl(dimethylstannyl)methylene]hydrazinato complex 3a. The reaction sequence involves a unique combination of Sn-C bond cleavage, C-C bond formation, C-H activation and intramolecular deprotonation of a rhodium hydride intermediate, which results in methylene transfer from an SnMe group to the pincer system and PCP-chelate expansion. A methylene-transfer reaction was also demonstrated with tetramethyltin as the methylene source in the presence of KOC(CH(3))(3) at room temperature. The resulting unstable "chelate-expanded" Rh(I) complex [(C(10)H(5)(CH(2)PiPr(2))(2))(CH(2))Rh(L)] (L=N(2), THF; 4a) was isolated as its carbonyl derivative 5a. Heating 4a in benzene yielded an equimolar amount of toluene and 1a, which demonstrates the ability of the Rh(I) pincer complex to extract a methylene group from an unactivated alkyl tin substrate and transfer it, via C-C followed by C-H activation, to an arene. Use of fluorobenzene resulted in formation of fluorotoluene. Catalytic methylene-group transfer mediated by 1a was not possible, because of formation of o-xylylene complex 8 under the reaction conditions. Steric parameters play a decisive role in the reactivity with tin compounds; while iPrP derivative 1 a underwent facile reactions, tBuP complex 1b was inert. 相似文献

Various new thermally air- and water-stable alkyl and aryl analogues of (acac-O,O)2Ir(R)(L), R-Ir-L (acac-O,O = kappa2-O,O-acetylacetonate, -Ir- is the trans-(acac-O,O)2Ir(III) motif, R = CH3, C2H5, Ph, PhCH2CH2, L = Py) have been synthesized using the dinuclear complex [Ir(mu-acac-O,O,C3)-(acac-O,O)(acac-C3)]2, [acac-C-Ir]2, or acac-C-Ir-H2O. The dinuclear Ir (III) complexes, [Ir(mu-acac-O,O,C3)-(acac-O,O)(R)]2 (R = alkyl), show fluxional behavior with a five-coordinate, 16 electron complex by a dissociative pathway. The pyridine adducts, R-Ir-Py, undergo degenerate Py exchange via a dissociative mechanism with activation parameters for Ph-Ir-Py (deltaH++ = 22.8 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol; deltaS++ = 8.4 +/- 1.6 eu; deltaG++298 K) = 20.3 +/- 1.0 kcal/mol) and CH3-Ir-Py (deltaH++ = 19.9 +/- 1.4 kcal/mol; deltaS++ = 4.4 +/- 5.5 eu; deltaG++298 K) = 18.6 +/- 0.5 kcal/mol). The trans complex, Ph-Ir-Py, undergoes quantitatively trans-cis isomerization to generate cis-Ph-Ir-Py on heating. All the R-Ir-Py complexes undergo quantitative, intermolecular CH activation reactions with benzene to generate Ph-Ir-Py and RH. The activation parameters (deltaS++ =11.5 +/- 3.0 eu; deltaH++ = 41.1 +/- 1.1 kcal/mol; deltaG++298 K = 37.7 +/- 1.0 kcal/mol) for CH activation were obtained using CH3-Ir-Py as starting material at a constant ratio of [Py]/[C6D6] = 0.045. Overall the CH activation reaction with R-Ir-Py has been shown to proceed via four key steps: (A) pre-equilibrium loss of pyridine that generates a trans-five-coordinate, square pyramidal intermediate; (B) unimolecular, isomerization of the trans-five-coordinate to generate a cis-five-coordinate intermediate, cis-R-Ir- square; (C) rate-determining coordination of this species to benzene to generate a discrete benzene complex, cis-R-Ir-PhH; and (D) rapid C-H cleavage. Kinetic isotope effects on the CH activation with mixtures of C6H6/C6D6 (KIE = 1) and with 1,3,5-C6H3D3 (KIE approximately 3.2 at 110 degrees C) are consistent with this reaction mechanism. 相似文献

Monomeric imidozirconocene complexes of the type Cp2(L)Zr=NCMe3 (Cp = cyclopentadienyl, L = Lewis base) have been shown to activate the carbon-hydrogen bonds of benzene, but not the C-H bonds of saturated hydrocarbons. To our knowledge, this singularly important class of C-H activation reactions has heretofore not been observed in imidometallocene systems. The M=NR bond formed on heating the racemic ethylenebis(tetrahydro)indenyl methyl tert-butyl amide complex, however, cleanly and quantitatively activates a wide range of n-alkane, alkene, and arene C-H bonds. Mechanistic experiments support the proposal of intramolecular elimination of methane followed by a concerted addition of the hydrocarbon C-H bond. Products formed by activation of sp2 C-H bonds are generally more thermodynamically stable than those formed by activation of sp3 C-H bonds, and those resulting from reaction at primary C-H bonds are preferred over secondary sp3 C-H activation products. There is also evidence that thermodynamic selectivity among C-H bonds is sterically rather than electronically controlled. 相似文献

One-electron oxidation of the tetragonal Cu(II) complex [Bu(4)N][LCuOH] at -80 °C generated the reactive intermediate LCuOH, which was shown to be a Cu(III) complex on the basis of spectroscopy and theory (L = N,N'-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,6-pyridinedicarboxamide). The complex LCuOH reacts with dihydroanthracene to yield anthracene and the Cu(II) complex LCu(OH(2)). Kinetic studies showed that the reaction occurs via H-atom abstraction via a second-order rate law at high rates (cf. k = 1.1(1) M(-1) s(-1) at -80 °C, ΔH(?) = 5.4(2) kcal mol(-1), ΔS(?) = -30(2) eu) and with very large kinetic isotope effects (cf. k(H)/k(D) = 44 at -70 °C). The findings suggest that a Cu(III)-OH moiety is a viable reactant in oxidation catalysis. 相似文献

Gentle thermolysis of the allyl complex, CpW(NO)(CH(2)CMe(3))(eta(3)-H(2)CCHCMe(2)) (1), at 50 degrees C in neat hydrocarbon solutions results in the loss of neopentane and the generation of transient intermediates that subsequently activate solvent C-H bonds. Thus, thermal reactions of 1 with tetramethylsilane, mesitylene, and benzene effect single C-H activations and lead to the exclusive formation of CpW(NO)(CH(2)SiMe(3))(eta(3)-H(2)CCHCMe(2)) (2), CpW(NO)(CH(2)C(6)H(3)-3,5-Me(2))(eta(3)-H(2)CCHCMe(2)) (3), and CpW(NO)(C(6)H(5))(eta(3)-H(2)CCHCMe(2)) (4), respectively. The products of reactions of 1 with other methyl-substituted arenes indicate an inherent preference of the system for the activation of stronger arene sp(2) C-H bonds. For example, C-H bond activation of p-xylene leads to the formation of CpW(NO)(CH(2)C(6)H(4)-4-Me)(eta(3)-H(2)CCHCMe(2)) (5) (26%) and CpW(NO)(C(6)H(3)-2,5-Me(2))(eta(3)-H(2)CCHCMe(2)) (6) (74%). Mechanistic and labeling studies indicate that the transient C-H-activating intermediates are the allene complex, CpW(NO)(eta(2)-H(2)C=C=CMe(2)) (A), and the eta(2)-diene complex, CpW(NO)(eta(2)-H(2)C=CHC(Me)=CH(2)) (B). Intermediates A and B react with cyclohexene to form CpW(NO)(eta(3)-CH(2)C(2-cyclohexenyl)CMe(2))(H) (18) and CpW(NO)(eta(3)-CH(2)CHC)(Me)CH(2)C(beta)H(C(4)H(8))C(alpha)H (19), respectively, and intermediate A can be isolated as its PMe(3) adduct, CpW(NO)(PMe(3))(eta(2)-H(2)C=C=CMe(2)) (20). Interestingly, thermal reaction of 1 with 2,3-dimethylbut-2-ene results in the formation of a species that undergoes eta(3) --> eta(1) isomerization of the dimethylallyl ligand following the initial C-H bond-activating step to yield CpW(NO)(eta(3)-CMe(2)CMeCH(2))(eta(1)-CH(2)CHCMe(2)) (21). Thermolyses of 1 in alkane solvents afford allyl hydride complexes resulting from three successive C-H bond-activation reactions. For instance, 1 in cyclohexane converts to CpW(NO)(eta(3)-C(6)H(9))(H) (22) with dimethylpropylcyclohexane being formed as a byproduct, and in methylcyclohexane it forms the two isomeric complexes, CpW(NO)(eta(3)-C(7)H(11))(H) (23a,b). All new complexes have been characterized by conventional spectroscopic methods, and the solid-state molecular structures of 2, 3, 4, 18, 19, 20, and 21 have been established by X-ray crystallographic analyses. 相似文献

The first example of PSiN mixed-donor silyl pincer ligation is described. Studies involving platinum group metal complexes of [(2-(t)Bu(2)PC(6)H(4))(2-Me(2)NC(6)H(4))SiMe](-) ((t)Bu-PSiN-Me) confirmed that the ligand amino donor is labile. Within the coordination sphere of Ru, (t)Bu-PSiN-Me is transformed into a PSiC ligand via multiple C-H bond activation events. 相似文献

Two ethylene molecules, bonded to different metal atoms of a diiridium(I) complex, can be converted into a bridging 3-butenyl-1-yl ligand and a terminal hydride. Such transformation is initiated by an ethylene C-H activation step and followed by an insertion of the second ethylene into a bridging vinyl ligand. This result illustrates the potentiality of diiridium(I) complexes to promote and support reaction sequences of alkene functionalization through C-H activation. 相似文献

The intermolecular C-H bond activation of benzene occurs under very mild conditions (room temperature) via a rare stereospecific 1,3-H addition on an unsaturated eta2-cyclopropene intermediate generated by a beta-H abstraction of CH4 from TpMe2NbMe(c-C3H5)(MeCCMe) to give TpMe2NbPh(c-C3H5)(MeCCMe). 相似文献

The transient titanium alkylidyne complex (PNP)TiCtBu (PNP = N[2-P(CHMe2)2-4-methylphenyl]2-), prepared from alpha-hydrogen abstraction of the corresponding alkylidene-alkyl species (PNP)Ti=CHtBu(CH2tBu), can readily cleave the C-N bond of N-heterocycles such as pyridine and 4-picoline at room temperature to afford azametallabicyclic systems. Experimental and theoretical studies strongly favor a ring-opening metathesis pathway where [2 + 2] cycloaddition of pyridine across the TiC linkage ultimately leads to C-N bond rupture. 相似文献

The reaction of [60]fullerene with an arylzinc halide in a mixture of THF and DMF produces a mono(2-tetrahydrofuranyl) adduct of [60]fullerene C60(C4H7O)H instead of the expected arylated fullerene. The reaction involves a C-H bond activation at the 2-position of THF that probably takes place through a radical mechanism. In the presence of a copper(I) complex, the reaction does not stop at the stage of mono-addition, with the aryl group of the zinc reagent adding four times regioselectively to the mono(2-tetrahydrofuranyl) adduct to produce a penta-adduct C60Ar4(C4H7O)H. This product can be converted further to the corresponding buckyferrocene Fe[C60Ar4(C4H7O)]Cp and its derivatives. 相似文献

An efficient Rh(III)-catalyzed direct C-H amination of N-pivaloyloxy benzamides with N-chloroamines proceeding at room temperature was achieved. The versatile directing group allows for selective mono- and diamination and can be readily converted to give valuable benzamide or aminoaniline derivatives. Mechanistic studies have been carried out to elucidate the reaction pathway. 相似文献
