In this study some of the assumptions introduced in [1] in developing a closed system of equations for a turbulent boundary layer will be simplified. With the aid of the system of equations of [1], a theoretical solution is found for the problem of a jet in an accompanying flow, it being assumed that the structure of the jet turbulence depends solely on local conditions. Experiment has shown that the turbulence in such a jet does depend also on the prehistory of the flow. At large distances from the source, the theoretical characteristics of the jet agree well with the experimentally determined characteristics of the wake beyond a body. Also examined is the problem of the boundary layer between two homogeneous flows, flowing with different velocities.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR. The problem of the propagation of a laminar immersed fan jet with swirling was considered in [1–3]. In [1], the jet source scheme was used to find a self-similar solution for a weakly swirling jet. An attempt to solve by an integral method the analogous problem for a jet emanating from a slit of finite size was made in [2]. In [3], the equations of motion for a jet with arbitrary swirling were reduced under a number of assumptions to the equations that describe the flow of a flat immersed jet. This paper gives the numerical solution to the problem of the propagation of a radial jet emanating with arbitrary swirling from a slit of finite size and an analytic solution for the main section of the jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 49–54, March–April, 1991.  相似文献

The problem of the propagation of a three-dimensional jet of viscid incompressible fluid flowing from a narrow curved slot into a fluid-filled space along a rigid plane is considered within the framework of the equations of a steady laminar boundary layer. A class of initial conditions at the slot outlet which generates in the jet a velocity field without secondary flows is identified. Within this class the boundaryvalue problem for the three-dimensional boundary layer can be divided into two problems of lower dimensionality: a dynamic and a kinematic problem. As a result of the analysis of the kinematic problem the general structure of the regions of existence and uniqueness of the solution is determined. An investigation of the dynamic problem shows that as the boundaries of the region of existence are approached a singularity characterized by an infinite increase in the thickness of the jet is formed in the solution of the boundary layer equations.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 75–81, July–August, 1991.  相似文献

A nonlinear theory is constructed for a thin jet of nonviscous, incompressible, weightless fluid flowing from a nozzle onto the surface of an immobile heavy liquid. The theory is asymptotically (over jet thickness) more accurate than that presented in [1]. Forms of the flow are studied as functions of nozzle, jet, and heavy liquid parameters.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 20–28, November–December, 1976.  相似文献

The propagation of an underexpanded sonic jet over a flat end face has been experimentally investigated. As distinct from previous studies, the object of investigation is not a free jet, but a jet flowing from a nozzle along a horizontal surface. The total separation of the jet from the surface and its attachment to the end wall are related to the propagation characteristics of underexpanded wall jets. The effect of the total pressure in the jet and the height of the step on the separation of the jet and its attachment to the wall and, moreover, on the principal characteristics of the flow — the pressure in the base region, the extent of the circulation zone, the jet trajectory — is examined. The associated hysteresis effects are studied.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 61–66, July–August, 1991.  相似文献

The problem of the dynamic sinking of the level of the free surface of a liquid of finite depth flowing out through an opening in the bottom of a vessel is considered as a plane problem in the theory of jets of an ideal liquid. This paper gives a curve of the dependence of the depth of the dynamic sinking of the level of the free surface above a discharge opening on the relative depth of the liquid in the vessel. For the compression coefficient of the jet a value of 0.96 is obtained; this value is practically independent of the depth of the layer of liquid.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 72–75, November–December, 1971.  相似文献

The problem of jet flow excited in a viscous density-stratified fluid by a point source of momentum acting horizontally is considered. Simplified asymptotic equations are obtained in the boundary layer approximation. It is shown that the vertical velocity component is small and the motion in the jet has a layered structure. The longitudinal velocity distributions in the jet are measured experimentally. It is shown that these distributions are affine and can be satisfactorily approximated by Schlichting's well-known boundary layer solution for a round submerged jet in a fluid uniform with respect to density.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No.6, pp. 10–16, November–December, 1993.We are grateful to I. This paper is a continuation of [1]. The problem of the nonuniqueness of the angle of incidence of a fine jet into water is considered and the mathematical formulation of the problem is improved. A diagram of the flow is shown in Fig. 1.; the jet is an inviscid, incompressible, weightless fluid of density 1 flowing from a nozzle onto the surface of a still heavier fluid of density 2. The problem is two-dimensional.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR. Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 82–89, March–April, 1973.  相似文献

Results are presented of experimental investigations of the local effect of acoustic oscillations of different frequency and constant intensity on the root part of a nonisothermal axisymmetric subsonic turbulent jet escaping from a gas jet atomizer at a different velocity in the S = 0.053–3.84 range of Strouhaille numbers. Data have been obtained indicating the presence of unstable escape modes of a subsonic turbulent jet in an acoustic field; experimental dependences are presented of the relative aperture of the turbulent jet flowing in an acoustic field as a function of various parameters.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 58–62, January–February, 1972.The author is grateful to A. It is known that under the influence of sound from an external source or the sound emitted by the supersonic jet itself at discrete frequencies in nonoptimal flow regimes the supersonic jet expands more rapidly and its range is reduced [1, 2], However, the mechanism of action of the sound on the supersonic jet has not been adequately investigated and, in particular, no one has determined the intensity of the external source capable of producing a marked change in the gas dynamic parameters of the jet, its characteristics or how the interaction process develops. These questions are examined below. By means of shadow photography with a pulsed light source it is shown that a significant change in the gas dynamic characteristics of the supersonic jet can be achieved by directing at its base along the normal to the jet boundary sound with an intensity corresponding to 0.1–0.2% of the total pressure in the jet. The appearance of large-scale disturbances on the irradiated side of jet and the directional emission of sound by the jet at the frequency of the external source are noted.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 170–174, November–December, 1989.The author is grateful to A. The second and third terms in the asymptotic expansion of the stream function in the nonsimilar problem of the development of a two-dimensional turbulent jet in an unbounded space are found in final form. Results of experimental investigations of free turbulent jets are cited, and the effect of the initial velocity profile on the aerodynamic characteristics of the jet is considered. The problem of the development of a two-dimensional turbulent jet in an unbounded space has been considered in [1–3]. The existing solution is similar, and is valid only at a sufficiently large distance from the slit. Allowance for the finite dimensions of the slit leads to a nonsimilar problem. The papers [4–6] are devoted to the experimental investigation of the free two-dimensional turbulent jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 137–142, July–August, 1971.  相似文献

The results of an experimental investigation of supersonic flow at the Mach number M1=3 past a transverse gas jet flowing from an orifice in the edge of a dihedral with a linear angle of 90° are presented. The Mach number of the jet was varied from 1 to 3, and the ratio of the total pressure in the jet to the free stream pressure from 90 to 760. Visualization of the flow near the faces of the dihedral revealed the existence of internal lines of flow convergence and divergence in the region of three-dimensional separated flow, which indicates the presence of complex vortex structures. The dependence of the dimensions of the separated flow zone and the characteristic pressures in it on the jet parameters is explored.Moscow. The propagation of acoustic perturbations (specified in the outlet cross section of a particular channel) along a supersonic jet flowing out of the channel is considered; also considered is acoustic emission from the surface of the jet into the atmosphere. The solution of these problems is obtained by a numerical method on the linear approximation. The laws governing the propagation of the perturbations as a function of the perturbation frequency and other determining parameters are investigated; these parameters include the velocity and temperature of the jet, the velocity of the subsonic accompanying flow in the external medium, and the character of the perturbation in the initial cross section of the jet.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 92–99, March–April, 1977.  相似文献

The flow of a two-dimensional underexpanded wall jet flowing out of a sonic nozzle along a channel wall has been experimentally investigated. The dependence of the dimension of the first barrel of the jet on the underexpansion is obtained. It is shown that the flow of the jet in the channel is associated with a significant axial pressure gradient on the initial interval of the induced cocurrent flow and that this leads to a substantial change in the geometric dimensions of the jet.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 196–199, January–February, 1993.  相似文献

A complete system of equations determining a viscous laminar, strongly overexpanded jet is obtained; the system is formed by shortened Navier—Stokes equations, equations for the metric of a coordinate system related with the form of the jet, and equations of transition from curvilinear coordinates to Cartesian. The problem of calculating the jet is formulated as a Cauchy problem for this system. Two- and three-dimensional flows are examined. Possible swirling of the jet is taken into account.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 137–147, March–April, 1977.  相似文献

The problem of free flow past a point source is considered for two streams with different Bernoulli constants whose encounter creates a bounded region of constant pressure. The theory and method of solving problems of plane ideal jet flows with different Bernoulli constants in the jets were developed in [1]. Here, in conformity with [1], a nonlinear system of equations is derived, the question of the construction of a high-accuracy numerical solution is considered, and certain calculation results are presented for various values of the Bernoulli and cavitation numbers, which are dimensionless parameters of the problem.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 55–60, May–June, 1986.  相似文献

Evaporation of a semidispersive drop system in a turbulent gas jet is considered. A method for calculating drop evaporation in a turbulent gas jet is proposed based on a simplified solution of the scattering problem for an evaporating admixture. Evaporation of water as it is atomized in a turbulent air jet is experimentally studied. Approximate agreement is obtained between the results of the calculations and experiments.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 73–79, January–February 1976.  相似文献
