A compactly supported measure μ on the complex plane C is called a Jensen measure for 0 if log ¦P(0)¦ ? ∝ log¦P(z)¦dμ(z) for every polynomial P. H2(μ) denotes the closure of the polynomials in L2(μ). We obtain the result that if μ is not the point mass at 0, then the functions in H2(μ) are analytic on an open set which contains 0 and whose closure contains the support of μ. The primary tool used to obtain this result is a generalized Green's function for a measure, and we also derive some of its properties.  相似文献

Preference optimality is an optimality concept in multicriteria problems, that is, in problems where several criteria are to beoptimized simultaneously. Formally, one wishes to optimizeN criteriag i(·) or, equivalently, a criterion vectorg(·) N , subject to either functional constraints in programming or to side conditions which are differential equations in optimal control. Subject to these constraints, one obtains forg(·) a set of attainable values in N . This set is preordered by the introduction of a complete preordering ; a controlu*(·) or a decisionx*, then, is preference-optimal if it results ing(u*(·))g(u(·)) for all admissible controlsu(·) or ifg(x*)g(x) for all feasible decisionsx. In this article we give sufficient conditions on a pair of weight (w, v) for some one-sided operators to be bounded from Lp (vp) to Lp (wp). The operators we deal with include the one-sided fractional maximal operator and the one-sided singular integrals. For the first operator, necessary and sufficient conditions are known (see [8, 6]). These conditions usually amount to checking the boundedness of the operator on functions that are powers of the weights and are hard to check. Our conditions are of Ap type and are therefore easy to verify. Similar results for two-sided operators were obtained by C. Pérez in [9] and [10].  相似文献

We generalize a result of Bateman and Erdos concerning partitions, thereby answering a question of Compton. From this result it follows that if is a class of finite relational structures that is closed under the formation of disjoint unions and the extraction of components, and if it has the property that the number of indecomposables of size is bounded above by a polynomial in , then has a monadic second order - law. Moreover, we show that if a class of finite structures with the unique factorization property is closed under the formation of direct products and the extraction of indecomposable factors, and if it has the property that the number of indecomposables of size at most is bounded above by a polynomial in , then this class has a first order - law. These results cover all known natural examples of classes of structures that have been proved to have a logical - law by Compton's method of analyzing generating functions.

Finding general and verifiable conditions which imply that Gabor systems are (resp. cannot be) Gabor frames is among the core problems in Gabor analysis. In their paper on atomic decompositions for coorbit spaces [H.G. Feichtinger and K. Gröchenig, Banach spaces related to integrable group representations, and their atomic decomposition, I, J. Funct. Anal. 86 (1989), 307–340], the authors proved that every Gabor system generated with a relatively uniformly discrete and sufficiently dense time-frequency sequence will allow series expansions for a large class of Banach spaces if the window function is nice enough. In particular, such a Gabor system is a frame for the Hilbert space of square integrable functions. However, their proof is based on abstract analysis and does not give direct information on how to determine the density in the sense of directly applicable estimates. It is the goal of this paper to present a constructive version of the proof and to provide quantitative results. Specifically, we give a criterion for the general case and explicit density for some cases. We also study the existence of Gabor frames and show that there is some smooth window function such that the corresponding Gabor system is incomplete for arbitrary time-frequency lattices.  相似文献

For a connected graph G=(V,E), an edge set SE is a k-restricted-edge-cut if G-S is disconnected and every component of G-S has at least k vertices. The cardinality of a minimum k-restricted-edge-cut is the k-restricted-edge-connectivity of G, denoted by λk(G). We discuss some basic regularity properties of the area-preserving deformations ${u:\Omega \mapsto \mathbb{R}^2}$ that have minimal elastic energy ${\int \limits_\Omega|\nabla u|^2}$ among a suitable class of admissible vectorfields defined on a smooth, bounded domain ${\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^2}$ . A symmetric duality theory for programming problems with homogeneous objective functions was published in 1961 by Eisenberg and has been used by a number of authors since in establishing duality theorems for specific problems. In this paper, we study a generalization of Eisenberg's problem from the viewpoint of Rockafellar's very general perturbation theory of duality. The extension of Eisenberg's sufficient conditions appears as a special case of a much more general criterion for the existence of optimal vectors and lack of a duality gap. We give examples where Eisenberg's sufficient condition is not satisfied, yet optimal vectors exist, and primal and dual problems have the same value.  相似文献

Viability theory gives a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a (set-valued) state feedback control such that all trajectories of the closed-loop system starting from the graph of a given tube in the state space remain in the tube. Here we investigate the same problem in the case where only incomplete and inexact measurement of the state is available. In the time-invariant case, we give a sufficient condition for the existence of anoutput feedback regulation map. The condition is shown to be equivalent to Haddad's viability condition if the measurement is perfect.  相似文献
