利用角色散和材料色散得到了反射型棱栅的二阶、三阶色散完整的解析表达式,与光线追迹法的结果能很好地符合,利于工程中棱栅的设计.系统分析了温度、棱栅结构参数对其色散的影响.结果表明,温度、棱镜材料折射率、插入量、棱栅间距对棱栅色散影响很小.而入射角、光栅常数、棱镜项角等对色散的影响很大,可以调节上述参数来改变棱栅的色散,从而补偿放大介质等材料色散.  相似文献

The common and traditional method for optical dispersion compensation is concatenating the transmitting optical fiber by a compensating optical fiber having a high-negative dispersion coefficient.In this Letter,we take the opposite direction and show how an optical fiber with a high-positive dispersion coefficient is used for dispersion compensation.Our optical dispersion compensating structure is the optical implementation of an iterative algorithm in signal processing.The proposed dispersion compensating system is constructed by cascading a number of compensating sub-systems,and its compensation capability is improved by increasing the number of embedded sub-systems.We also show that the compensation capability is a trade-off between the transmission length and bandwidth.We use the simulation results to validate the performance of the introduced dispersion compensating module.Photonic crystal fibers with high-positive dispersion coefficients can be used for constructing the proposed optical dispersion compensating module.  相似文献

The full dispersion relation obtained for a free-electron laser in the presence of circularly polarized, periodic, static wiggler and guiding magnetic fields by the kinetic approach incorporating the particle trajectories is reduced to Compton and Raman regime approximations in the case of a tenuous electron beam. The temporal growth rate has been compared between the full dispersion relation and the Compton dispersion relation, as well as between the full dispersion relation and the Raman dispersion relation in the microwave region. The results show the maxima of growths in the full dispersion relation and the Compton dispersion relation, as well as the full dispersion relation and the Raman dispersion relation, are at the same locations, but the growth rates in both regimes are enhanced with respect to the full dispersion relation for the same plasma frequency and cavity parameters.  相似文献

Formulas for calculating the spectral characteristics of waveguide arrays, which are incorporated into waveguide spectrum analyzers based on planar waveguides, channel waveguides, and fiber optical waveguides, are derived taking into account the contribution of both the waveguide dispersion and the material dispersion to the dispersion factor. These formulas are used to study the dependence of the dispersion factor on the waveguide-system parameters for specific models of waveguide arrays. It is shown that consideration of contributions of the waveguide dispersion and material dispersion can affect profoundly the spectral characteristics of waveguide arrays.  相似文献

The phenomenon of temporal pulse dispersion, which is a key characteristic of an optical fiber communication system is described from the first principles. Beginning with the basics of dispersion in a bulk medium, these concepts are then applied to propagation of a pulse in an optical fiber. Details of modeling dispersion are then described in the context of dispersion tailoring and dispersion compensation with a view to form the foundation for subsequent chapters on dispersion compensation that follow in this report. Basic physics behind the design target for dispersion compensating fibers is discussed, which should be useful to fiber designers.  相似文献

When using normalized dispersion method for the dispersion design of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs), it is vital that the group velocity dispersion of PCF can be seen as the sum of geometrical dispersion and material dispersion. However, the error induced by this way of calculation will deteriorate the final results. Taking 5 ps/(km.nm) and 5% as absolute error and relative error limits, respectively, the structure parameter boundaries of PCFs about when separating total dispersion into geometrical and material components is valid are provided for wavelength shorter than 1700 nm. By using these two criteria together, it is adequate to evaluate the simulated dispersion of PCFs when normalized dispersion method is employed.  相似文献

Based on the nonlinear Schrödinger equation and the linearly chirped parabolic pulse generation in the dispersion decreasing fiber with normal dispersion, a novel scheme for the generation of the self-similar parabolic pulse via a comb-like profiled dispersion fiber with normal group-velocity dispersion has been proposed and the corresponding model is established. We study, analytically and numerically, the evolution of the self-similar parabolic pulse in comb-like profiled dispersion fiber with dispersion profile close to that of the dispersion decreasing fiber, and the influence of different initial energies and pulse widths on the linearly chirped parabolic pulse formation in the comb-like profiled dispersion fiber. The results show that the evolution of the self-similar parabolic pulses can realized in the comb-like profiled dispersion fiber, the results of which are in good agreement with these of the dispersion decreasing fiber, and the best-matched scheme of designing and optimizing comb-like profiled dispersion fiber will help to obtain the ideal similaritons.  相似文献

The chromatic dispersion for conventional and Er-doped fibers using the refractive index approximation is examined. A first, analytical method for investigation of dispersion in step index triple clad optical fiber is used. To design of zero-dispersion shifted fiber for optical communication purpose manipulation of the refractive index and radius of the core are considered. We show that in presence of the Si-NC-Er ions, zero-dispersion wavelength is displaced and the dispersion quantity is increased. In this work, we try to optimize system parameters to obtain minimum dispersion and dispersion shifted fiber with control of the doping levels of Er ions and Si-NC as well as doping profiles. For especial case, we assumed the Gaussian inhomogeneous core refractive index for zero-dispersion wavelength and dispersion managements.  相似文献

研究了无磁化、无碰撞、各向同性相对论q分布正负电子对等离子体横振荡色散关系,通过理论推导得到与非广延参数q有关的色散方程。从该色散方程出发,得到极端相对论情况下长波支和短波支下等离子体横振荡色散关系解析解,为了得到完整的色散曲线,对色散方程进行数值计算,在极端相对论情况下数值结果与解析结果在长波支和短波支下完全吻合。研究发现相对论q分布下色散关系与非广延参数q和温度有关,当q1时,则渐进结果与经典统计下的一致。  相似文献

In this paper, we carry out, by numerical simulations and experiments on recirculating loop, a comparative analysis of the performances of two types of dispersion management techniques for 160 Gb/s transmission systems, which correspond to short-period dispersion maps (dense dispersion management) and long-period dispersion maps (conventional dispersion management), respectively. We show that the dense dispersion management system suffers performance degradation by the effects of polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and fiber splicing losses, in a more dramatic manner than in the system with long-period map. We experimentally find that, at constant PMD, dense dispersion managed system permits to achieve a transmission distance that is twice larger than that obtained with the conventional dispersion management; however, the polarization mode dispersion significantly reduces the gap between the transmission performances of the two types of systems.  相似文献

ABCD矩阵基础上,通过引入角度色散项获得了可以方便描述色散系统的3×3阶矩阵方程.利用这种矩阵方程计算了消像差光栅展宽器中的二阶色散量,得到的结果与由常规积分法获得的结果相同,表明采用矩阵方程计算色散系统色散量具有简单方便,包含信息量大,可适用于任意结构色散系统等特点.  相似文献

针对基于光纤自相位调制效应的多波长全光再生系统,分析了光纤平均色散对再生器品质因子改进量的影响,提出一种色散管理优化方法.由于波长间色散差异会导致再生系统性能的稳定性下降,通过选择色散补偿光纤和单模光纤的长度,使其合成的色散曲线与各波长分别达到最优再生性能时对应的色散曲线近似拟合,同时保证该色散曲线落在性能满意度高的色散区域,然后调整信号输入功率和滤波器的偏移量,可有效改善多波长再生性能的稳定性,实现再生器的色散管理优化.  相似文献

The paper deals with the influence of higher-order effects of dispersion on the femto-second transform limited pulse generation by compensating for linear chirp of self-phase modulation spectra in the dispersion-shifted fibers. It has been shown that the minimum propagation length with first-order dispersion term is 23 m, as reported earlier. If the higher-order dispersion effects are taken into consideration, this length is reduced to 11.5 m. With compensation of the first-order dispersion term, this length can be enhanced to 6.8161 × 103 km. This length can further be improved to 6.0343 × 109 km by compensation of first- and second-order dispersion terms together. The minimum pulse width and linewidth product without dispersion, with dispersion including higher-order dispersion effects, and with dispersion compensation, is found to be 0.44, 0.4418, and 0.4411, respectively.  相似文献

Density‐functional theory (DFT) allows for the calculation of many chemical properties with relative ease, thus making it extremely useful for the physical organic chemistry community to understand and focus on various experiments. However, density‐functional techniques have their limitations, including the ability to satisfactorily describe dispersion interactions. Given the ubiquitous nature of dispersion in chemical and biological systems, this is not a trivial matter. Recent advances in the development of DFT methods can treat dispersion. These include dispersion‐corrected DFT (using explicit, attractive dispersion terms), parameterized functionals, and dispersion‐correcting potentials, all of which can dramatically improve performance for dispersion‐bound species. In this perspective, we highlight the achievements made in modeling dispersion using DFT. We hope that this will provide valuable insight to both computational chemists and experimentalists, who aim to study physical processes driven by dispersion interactions.
