Collisional activation decomposition (CAD) spectra are interpreted as indicating that formation of ˙CH2CH2CO+ (1) from ionized cyclopentanone, succinic anhydride arid butyrolactone is important at 70 eV electron energy. However, photoionization appearance energy measurements and CAD spectra demonstrate that CH3CH?C?O (3) is formed from ionized cyclopentanone near threshold. Ab initio molecular orbital calculations place ΔH f (1) about 36 kJ mol?1 above ΔH f (3).  相似文献

The compounds AlX3-2Py (X = Cl or Br, Py = C5H5N or C5D5N) have been prepared by using a method based on an exchange of organic ligands. The infrared and Raman spectra, which have been recorded between 50 and 4000 cm?1, give strong evidence for the existence of the anion AlCl4? (or AlBr4?) and show that the cation is AlX2(Py)+4. The comparison of the spectra with those of the compound NiX2(Py)4., and of the cations trans-AlX2(THF)4+ and cis-AlX2(bipy)2+ indicates that the cation AlX2(Py)4+ has the helical configuration (helical trans-octahedron) and allows the assignment of the vibrations.  相似文献

This paper estimates some thermochemical (in kcal mol–1) and detonation parameters for the ionic liquid, [emim][ClO4] and its associated solid in view of its investigation as an energetic material. The thermochemical values estimated, employing CBS‐4M computational methodology and volume‐based thermodynamics (VBT) include: lattice energy, UPOT([emim][ClO4]) ≈? 123 ± 16 kcal · mol–1; enthalpy of formation of the gaseous cation, ΔfH°([emim]+, g) = 144.2 kcal · mol–1 and anion, ΔfH°([ClO4], g) = –66.1 kcal · mol–1; the enthalpy of formation of the solid salt, ΔfH°([emim][ClO4],s) ≈? –55 ± 16 kcal · mol–1 and for the associated ionic liquid, ΔfHo([emim][ClO4],l) = –52 ± 16 kcal · mol–1 as well as the corresponding Gibbs energy terms: ΔfG°([emim][ClO4],s) ≈? +29 ± 16 kcal · mol–1 and ΔfGo([emim][ClO4],l) = +24 ± 16 kcal · mol–1 and the associated standard absolute entropies, of the solid [emim][ClO4], S°298([emim][ClO4],s) = 83 ± 4 cal · K–1 · mol–1. The following combustion and detonation parameters are assigned to [emim][ClO4] in its (ionic) liquid form: specific impulse (Isp) = 228 s (monopropellant), detonation velocity (VoD) = 5466 m · s–1, detonation pressure (pC–J) = 99 kbar, explosion temperature (Tex) = 2842 K.  相似文献

The standard enthalpies of combustion Δc H o and formation Δf H o of seven alkoxy-NNO-azoxy compounds containing the-N+(O?)=NO-characteristic group were determined by combustion in a calorimetric bomb in the atmosphere of oxygen. The contribution of this group to the Δf H o enthalpies of the substances studied was calculated. The Δf H o enthalpies found by the method of group contributions were in satisfactory agreement with experimental data.  相似文献

Calorimetric measurements of the enthalpy of reaction of WO3(c) with excess OH?(aq) have been made at 85°C. Similar measurements have been made with MoO3(c) at both 85 and 25°C, to permit estimation of ΔH°=?13.4 kcal mol?1 for the reaction WO3(c)+2OH?(aq)=WO2?4(aq)+H2O(liq) at 25°C. Combination of this ΔH° with ΔH°f for WO3(c) leads to ΔH°f=?256.5 kcal mol?1 for WO2?4(aq). We also obtain ΔH°f=?269.5 kcal mol?1 for H2WO4(c). Both of these values are discussed in relation to several earlier investigations.  相似文献

An analysis of thermochemical and kinetic data on the bromination of the halomethanes CH4–nXn (X = F, Cl, Br; n = 1–3), the two chlorofluoromethanes, CH2FCl and CHFCl2, and CH4, shows that the recently reported heats of formation of the radicals CH2Cl, CHCl2, CHBr2, and CFCl2, and the C? H bond dissociation energies in the matching halomethanes are not compatible with the activation energies for the corresponding reverse reactions. From the observed trends in CH4 and the other halomethanes, the following revised ΔH°f,298 (R) values have been derived: ΔH°f(CH2Cl) = 29.1 ± 1.0, ΔH°f(CHCl2) = 23.5 ± 1.2, ΔHf(CH2Br) = 40.4 ± 1.0, ΔH°f(CHBr2) = 45.0 ± 2.2, and ΔH°f(CFCl2) = ?21.3 ± 2.4 kcal mol?1. The previously unavailable radical heat of formation, ΔH°f(CHFCl) = ?14.5 ± 2.4 kcal mol?1 has also been deduced. These values are used with the heats of formation of the parent compounds from the literature to evaluate C? H and C? X bond dissociation energies in CH3Cl, CH2Cl2, CH3Br, CH2Br2, CH2FCl, and CHFCl2.  相似文献

The calculated difference in the standard heat of formation Δ ΔfH°(298.15) of n- and i-C4H3 free radicals is 37.9 kJ mol−1 for G3MP2B3 and 45.0 kJ mol−1 for CCSD(T)-CBS (W1U) calculations, which seems to preclude the direct even-carbon radical pathway to benzene and higher PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon) formation including soot in a hydrocarbon flame. For the phenyl-type σ-radicals listed in the title, absolute values of ΔfH°(298.15) have been calculated using G3MP2B3-computed values of bond dissociation energies D°(298.15) and combined with experimental values of ΔfH° (298.15) for the parent hydrocarbon because of a slight systematic overprediction of the thermodynamic stability of large PAHs by the applied computational G3MP2B3 method. Standard enthalpies of formation ΔfH°(298.15) as well as absolute entropies S° and heat capacities C°p are given for a series of π- and σ-free radicals important to combustion as a function of temperature. A spread of roughly 40 kJ mol−1 in the average C H bond strength of PAH leading to σ-radicals has been calculated, the lowest leading to 4-phenanthryl (463.6 kJ mol−1), the highest leading to 2-biphenylyl radical (502.5 kJ mol−1). © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The heat of formation of benzophenone oxide, Ph2CO2, was measured using photoacoustic calorimetry. The enthalpy of the reaction Ph2CN2 + O2 → Ph2CO2 + N2 was found to be ?48.0 ±0.8 kcal mol?1 and ΔHf(Ph2CN2) was determined by measuring the reaction enthalpy for Ph2CN2 + EtOH → Ph2CHOEt + N2 (?53.6 ±1.0 kcal mol?1). Taking ΔHf(PhCHOEt) = ?10.6 kcal mol?1 led to ΔHf(Ph2CN2) = 99.2 ± 1.5 kcal mol?1 and hence to ΔHf(Ph2CO2) = 51.1 ± 2.0 kcal mol?1. The results imply that the self-reaction of benzophenone oxide i.e., 2Ph2CO2 → 2Ph2CO + O2 is exothermic by ?76.0 ±4.0 kcal mol?1.  相似文献

The title compound (1) was prepared in high purity by reducing 3,3-dibromo-2,2,4,4-tetra-methylpentane (2) with magnesium in the last step. The heat of combustion, ΔH0c(c), of 1 was measured using an aneroid isoperibol microcalorimeter and the heat of sublimation, ΔHsub, was obtained from the vapour pressure (35–93°C) measured in a flow system. The results: ΔH0c(c) = ?2913.3(±0.9), ΔH0f(c) = ?77.6(±0.9) and ΔH0f(g) = ?59.9(±0.9) kcal mol?1 lead to an outstandingly high value for the excess strain enthalpy (Hs = 66.3 kcal mol?1) revealing strong van der Waals repulsions in this highly crowded alkane.  相似文献

The enthalpies of sublimation Δsub H 0(298) of 4f metal trichlorides were calculated by the second and third laws of thermodynamics from saturated vapor pressures using the thermodynamic functions of the condensed and gaseous states suggested by us. The set of the Δsub H o(298) enthalpies was analyzed to determine the most reliable values. The enthalpies of atomization found from these values were compared with those calculated from the measured equilibrium constants of gas phase reactions with the participation of the compounds under consideration and the enthalpies of atomization found from the experimental appearance potentials AP(Ln+/LnCl3). Recommended Δat H o(298) values were obtained for all the 4f metal trichlorides.  相似文献

The dissociative ionization of 4,4-dimethyl-1-thia-4-silacyclohexane (I) and 2,3,3-trimethyl-1-thia-3-silacyclopentane(II) has been studied by electron photoionization (PI) mass spectrometric methods. The molecular ion fragmentation is mainly related to the loss of ethylene and results in a [Me2SiSC2H4]+? (m/z 118) ion-radical (A). Further loss of ethylene from A produces a dimethylsilanethione [Me2SiS]+? (m/z 90) ion-radical (B). The latter is the most abundant ion in the mass spectra of I and II at 70 eV.The ionization energies (IE) of I (8.22 ± 0.07 eV) and II (8.06 ± 0.03 eV) and the appearance energies (AE) of ion-radicals A and B have been determined. Also, the following heats of formation were calculated (kJ/mol): ΔHf0(I) = ?31.1; ΔHf0(II) = ?65.8; ΔHf0(MI+?) = 762.0; ΔHf0(MII+?)= 712.1; ΔHf0(A)aver = 780.2; ΔHf0(B)aver = 847.7.  相似文献

A long‐standing controversy concerning the heat of formation of methylenimine has been addressed by means of the W2 (Weizmann‐2) thermochemical approach. Our best calculated values, ΔH°f,298(CH2NH) = 21.1±0.5 kcal/mol and ΔH°f,298(CH2NH2+) = 179.4±0.5 kcal/mol, are in good agreement with the most recent measurements but carry a much smaller uncertainty. As a byproduct, we obtain the first‐ever accurate anharmonic force field for methylenimine: upon consideration of the appropriate resonances, the experimental gas‐phase band origins are all reproduced to better than 10 cm?1. Consideration of the difference between a fully anharmonic zero‐point vibrational energy and B3LYP/cc‐pVTZ harmonic frequencies scaled by 0.985 suggests that the calculation of anharmonic zero‐point vibrational energies can generally be dispensed with, even in benchmark work, for rigid molecules. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The Arrhenius parameters for the title reaction have been measured in a very-low-pressure pyrolysis apparatus in the temperature range 644–722 K and are given by log k2 (M?1 · sec?1) = 9.68 - 2.12/θ, where θ = 2.303RT in kcal/mol. Together with the published Arrhenius parameters for the reverse reaction from iodination studies, they result in a standard heat of formation of the t-butyl radical of 8.4 kcal/mol, accepting S0(C4H9·) = 72.2 e.u. at 300 K from other kinetic data, and thus confirm the accepted value for ΔHf0(t-C4H9·), at variance with recent investigations which yielded significantly higher values. This value for ΔHf0(t-C4H9·) results in a bond-dissociation energy (BDE) for isobutane of 92.7 kcal/mol.  相似文献

For a set of 32 selected free radicals, energy minimum structures, harmonic vibrational wave numbers ωe, principal moments of inertia IA, IB, and IC, heat capacities C°p(T), entropies S°(T), thermal energy contents H°(T) ? H°(0), and standard enthalpies of formation ΔfH°(T) were calculated at the G3MP2B3 level of theory in the temperature range 200–3000 K. In this article, thermodynamic functions at T = 298.15 K are presented and compared with recent experimental values. The mean absolute deviation between calculated and experimental ΔfH°(298.15) values resulted in 3.91 kJ mol?1, which is close to the average experimental uncertainty of ± 3.55 kJ mol?1. The hydrolysis of methyltin(IV) trichloride (CH3SnCl3) has been studied in aqueous NaCl and NaNO3 solutions (0 < I/mol dm−3 ≤ 1), at different temperatures (15 ≤ T/°C ≤ 45) bypotentiometric measurements (H+‐glass electrode). By considering the generic hydrolytic <?tw=97.2%>reaction pCH3Sn3+ + qH2O = (CH3Sn)p(OH)q3pq<?tw>+ qH+ (logβpq), we have the formation of five species and logβ12 = −3.36, logβ13 = −8.99, logβ14 = −20.27 and logβ25 = −7.61. The first hydrolysis step is measurable only at very low pH values and was not determined: a rough estimate of the hydrolysis constant is logβ11 = −1.5 (± 0.5). The dependence on ionic strength of logβpq is quite different in NaNO3 and NaCl solutions, and the formation at low pH values of the species CH3Sn(OH)Cl+ has been found with logβ = −1.40. Hydrolysis constants strongly depend on temperature and from the relationships logβpq = f(T), ΔH ° values have been calculated. Speciation problems of CH3Sn3+ in aqueous solution are discussed. The two isomorphous title compounds, [M(C5H7N6)2(C9H6O4)2(H2O)2]·4H2O or M2+(Hdap+)2(hpt2−)2(H2O)2·4H2O {where dap is 2,6‐diaminopurine, H2hpt is homophthalic acid [2‐(2‐carboxyphenyl)acetic acid] and M is NiII or CoII}, consist of neutral M2+(Hdap+)2(hpt2−)2(H2O)2 monomers, where the MII cation lies on an inversion centre and its MN2O4 octahedral environment is defined by one N atom (from Hdap+), two O atoms (from one hpt2− dianion and one water molecule) and their inversion images. The structures are unusual in that the Hdap+ cation occurs in an uncommon protonated state (as 2,6‐diamino‐7H‐purin‐1‐ium) and both ligands bind in an unprecedented monodentate fashion. The existence of a large number of donors and acceptors for hydrogen bonding, together with π–π interactions, leads to a rather complex three‐dimensional structure.  相似文献

The database on the enthalpies of formation (Δf H ) of aliphatic acetyl radicals of the RC·(O) type is analyzed and extended. Δf H values are estimated for the first time for three compounds on the basis of experimental data. The data were analyzed using the additive group approach with the determination and correction of parameters. Good correspondence between the Δf H (RC·(O)) values calculated according to parameters with experimental data is observed.  相似文献

After a set of 32 free radicals was presented (Int J Chem Kin 34, 550–560, 2002), an additional 60 free radicals (Set‐2) were studied and characterized by energy minimum structures, harmonic vibrational wave numbers ωe, moments of inertia IA, IB, and IC, heat capacities Cop(T), standard entropies So(T), thermal energy contents Ho(T) ? Ho(0), and standard enthalpies of formation ΔfHo(T) at the G3MP2B3 level of theory. Thermodynamic functions at T = 298.15 K are presented and compared with recent experimental values where these are available. The mean absolute deviation between calculated and experimental ΔfHo(298.15) values by the previous set of 32 radicals is 3.91 kJ mol?1. For the sake of comparison, only 49 species out of the 60 radicals of Set‐2 are characterized by experimental enthalpies of formation, and the corresponding mean absolute deviation between calculated and experimental ΔfHo(298.15) values is 8.96 kJ mol?1. This situation is cause for demand of more and also more accurate experimental values. In addition to the above properties, parent molecules of a large set of the respective radicals are calculated to obtain bond dissociation energies Do(298.15). Radical stabilization owing to resonance is discussed using the complete sets of total atomic spin densities ρ as a support. In particular, a short review about recent developments of the first‐order Jahn–Teller radical c‐C5H5? is presented. In addition, radicals with negative bond energies are described, such as ?CH2OOH where the reaction path to CH2O + HO? has been calculated, as well as radicals which have two different parent molecules, for example C?N? O?. For the reaction HO? + CO → H? + CO2, two reaction paths are characterized by a total of 14 stationary points where the intermediate radicals HO? ?CO and HC(O)O? are involved. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Electrostatic solvation free energies were computed for several small neutral bases and their conjugate acids using a continuum solvation model called the self-consistent isodensity polarizable continuum model (SCIPCM). The solvation energies were computed at the restricted Hartree–Fock (RHF) and second-order Møller–Plesset (MP2) levels of theory, as well as with the Becke3–Lee–Yang–Parr (B3LYP) density functional theory, using the standard 6–31G** Gaussian basis set. The RHF solvation energies are similar to those computed at the correlated MP2 and B3LYP theoretical levels. A model for computing protonation enthalpies for neutral bases in fluorosulfonic acid solvent leads to the equation ΔH(B)=−PA(B)+ΔEt(BH+)−ΔEt(B)+β, where PA(B) is the gas phase proton affinity for base B, ΔEt(BH+) is the SCIPCM solvation energy for the conjugate acid, and ΔEt(B) is the solvation energy for the base. A fit to experimental values of ΔH(B) for 10 neutral bases (H2O, MeOH, Me2O, H2S, MeSH, Me2S, NH3, MeNH2, Me2NH, and PH3) gives β=238.4±2.9 kcal/mol when ΔΔEt is computed using the 0.0004 e⋅bohr−3 isodensity surface for defining the solute cavity at the RHF/6–31G** level. The model predicts that for carbon monoxide ΔH(CO)=10 kcal/mol. Thus, protonation of CO is endothermic, and the conjugate acid HCO+ (formyl cation) behaves as a strong acid in fluorosulfonic acid. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
