A series of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene 1,3-diimidazolium salts were successfully prepared by the alkylation of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene with dibromoalkanes, and sequential substitution reaction with 1-alkylimidazole. Furthermore, coordination reactions of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene 1,3-diimidazolium salts with silver oxide and mercury acetate gave novel Ag and Hg complexes of bis(N-heterocyclic carbenes) on p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene platform. The single-crystal structures of four p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene 1,3-diimidazolium salts and three metal complexes were successfully determined by X-ray diffraction. An Ag–Ag argentophilic interaction (Ag–Ag bond length is 3.1599(6) Å) is formed between the two Ag–NHC complexes and a dimetallic coordination mode exists in Hg–NHC complexes.  相似文献

A seemingly ipso-like nucleophilic substitution of the upper rim of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene is accomplished by an indirect method involving calix[4]arene derived bis(spirodienone). This method not only provides both mono and 1,3-diaryloxy calixarenes but also enables the synthesis of upper rim monothio substituted calix[4]arenes. A modification of the methodology can be successfully extended for the selective synthesis of mono- and 1,3-diquinone calix[4]arenes having free hydroxyl groups at the lower rim, in fewer steps.  相似文献

As bifunctional reagents, bis(tosyloxyethoxy)benzenes can react with p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene or p-tert-butylthiacalix[4]arene to afford intramolecularly bridged (1+1) or intermolecularly bridged (2+2) products. It was found that the bridging pattern strongly depended on the structure of bis(tosyloxyethoxy)benzene and the kind of calixarene. For the ortho-isomer of bis(tosyloxyethoxy)benzene, intramolecularly bridged calix[4]arene and thiacalix[4]arene were the main products. For the para-isomer, the bridging reaction was in a (2+2) fashion. As for the meta-isomer, double thiacalix[4]arene and intramolecularly bridged calix[4]crown were synthesized.  相似文献

The size limit of substituents allowing O-through-the-annulus rotation of substituted calix[4]arenes was further extended to the propargyloxy group in 24-propargyloxy-25,26,27-tris(N,N-dimethylcarbamoylmethoxy)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene by demonstrating its free but slow motion affording equilibrium between the partial cone and 1,2-alternate conformers. The effect of solvent and upper rim substituents R1 on the conformational inversion was investigated by means of 1H NMR. The rotational isomerisation of the parent (R1 = H) analogue could not unambiguously be detected. The experimental results were supported by comprehensive density functional theory studies.  相似文献

Heating of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene bearing acethydrazide moiety at the lower rim in MeCN or PriOH (EtOH) affords the corresponding N,N’-bis(calix[4]arenoxyacetyl)hydrazine derivative. The hydrazinolysis of mono(methoxycarbonylmethoxy)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]-arene in benzene or refluxing biscalixarene hydrazide in benzene in the presence of hydrazine hydrate produces the mixture of 1,2- and 1,3-(N,N’-diacetylhydrazine)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes.  相似文献

The syntheses and structures of uranyl complexes of p-t-Bu-calix[6]arene (calix[6]H6) and p-t-Bu-calix[9]arene (calix[9]H9) are reported, further developing the role of calixarenes as 'cluster keepers'. The calix[6]arene complex, formulated as [(HO){UO2(calix[6]H4)(dmso)}3H], is trinuclear and linked symmetrically by the hydroxyl O atom. The calix[9]arene complex is binuclear, with a carbonate atom bridging between the two uranyl cations to give the complex, (HNEt3)3[(OCO2)(UO2)3(calix[9]H4)].  相似文献

Five new polymeric compounds containing more than one calix[4]arene have been synthesized by reacting an oligomer with 5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(diethylamino)methyl]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (L1), 25,27-dimethyl-26,28-dihydroxy-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene diketone (L2), and p-nitrocalix[4]arene (L3), and chloromethylated polystyrene with 25,27-dimethyl-26,28-dihydroxy-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene diketone (L4) and p-nitrocalix[4]arene (L5). These compounds were studied by the selective extraction of Fe3+ cation from the aqueous phase into the organic phase and was carried out by using compounds L1L5. It was observed that the polymer support attached to the lower rim of p-nitrocalix[4]arene was the most efficient carrier of Fe3+ in the extraction process.  相似文献

Even though it was obtained in poor yield, p-tert-butylthiacalix[8]arene (TC8A) has been synthesized as a new member of thiacalix[n]arenes by the terephthalate-induced cyclization of a mixture of acyclic oligomers, which was obtained by the reaction between p-tert-butylphenol and sulfur with CaO in ethylene glycol/diphenyl ether system. Slow evaporation of the chloroform solution of TC8A afforded guest-free crystals consisting of TC8A itself. The close-packed crystal structure of TC8A resembles that of p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene (C8A) closely, containing a plated loop molecular structure.This revised version was published online in July 2005 with a corrected issue number.  相似文献

The strategy of bridging the anisole units at the upper rim of calix[6]arene has been applied to strain the conformations of calix[6]arene. Based on the selective formylation of the 1,3,5-tri-p-tert-butylcalix[6]arene, several new calix[6]arene derivatives with different 1,3-bridged chains or a 1,3,5-tripod bridge at the upper rim have been prepared with moderate yields. The 1H NMR spectra indicate that these calix[6]arene derivatives adopt a cone conformation, which has also been confirmed by the theoretical calculation at AM1 level. X-ray crystal structure of 1,3,5-tripod bridged compound 5 discloses that the calix[6]arene host stands in a cone conformation with approximate C3v symmetry, and that a methanol molecule is enclosed in its hydrophobic cavity and stabilized by multi hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

A new type of macrocyclic receptor able to bind organic substrates containing carboxy and carboxylate groups was designed on the basis of 1,3-disubstituted calix[4]arenes. A series of disubstitited calix[4]arenes were prepared in 60—80% yields by selective 1,3-alkylation of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene. The compounds obtained were tested as carriers for dl-tartaric, glycolic, dl-amygdalic, and dl-glutamic acids through liquid membranes immobilized on a polymer matrix. The structural factors favorable for the transport of these hydrophilic substrates through lipophilic membranes were established.  相似文献

Amphiphilic calix[4]arene derivatives with a nucleobase on the lower rim have been synthesized in good yields by the condensation of calix[4]arenediamine {5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis(2-aminoethoxy)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene} with uracilo-N-acetic acid, thymino-N-acetic acid and adenino-N-propionic acid in the presence of CDI in DMF. Monolayers of the amphiphilic calix[4]arene-nucleobase derivatives on the surface of pure water, the aqueous subphases containing complementary nucleosides, were studied by film balance measurement and relaxation experiments. LB films deposited from all subphases were investigated by UV spectra and FT-IR spectroscopy. All the results indicate that the interaction between the nucleobases in the headgroup of amphiphilic p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene derivatives and the complementary nucleosides in the subphase takes place through multiple hydrogen bonding and the nucleosides can be transferred to solid substrates along with their monolayers.  相似文献

Abstract

The synthesis and full characterization of eight new calix[n]arene sulfonate esters including their conformational analysis were carried out. While p-tBucalix[6]arene and p-tBu-calix[8]arene esters are conformationally labile in the temperature interval of 25–100°C, p-tBu-calix[4]arene mono-and diesters were isolated as stable conformers at ambient temperature. Two 1,3-functionalised compounds of these derivatives, p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene ditriflate (5) and dimesylate (6) were shown unexpectedly high conformational stability up to 100°C by dynamic NMR measurements. The NMR measurements confirm the pinched-cone conformation for both derivatives. For the dealkylated calix[4]arene derivatives the partial cone conformer of the triesters have been obtained as major products in all cases.  相似文献

New podands based on the p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene unit with substitution at the lower rim incorporating imine units, have been synthesized in high yield by simple condensation method. These podands have been shown to extract and transport Ag+ selectively over alkali, alkaline earth metal cations, Zn2+, Pb2+ and Hg2+ ions, from neutral aqueous phase to organic phase. In all the ligands the calix unit has been found to be present in a cone conformation except for the one having pyridine as end group, at the ortho position. It has been isolated in two conformations; cone and 1,2-alternate. To the best of our knowledge, this may be the first 1,3-lower rim substituted calix[4]arene to exist in a 1,2-alternate conformation and is among a few known compounds with this conformation in the general class of calix[4]arenes. A complex of this ligand, which happens to be the highest extractant of Ag+ has been isolated and characterized using mass, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy's and elemental analysis. The spectroscopic evidence and molecular modelling studies performed on the complex suggest a participation of the imine and pyridine nitrogens and two of the ether oxygens in coordination to the metal ion. The X-ray crystal structures of three of the ligands establish the formation of inclusion complexes with polar acetonitrile solvent molecules. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of all the compounds, taken in CDCl3, show the presence of acetonitrile molecules in the cavity of the calix[4]arene, indicating inclusion of the neutral guest molecules in the solution phase as well. For one of the podands X-ray crystal structure has shown a formation of clatharate complex of chloroform with the ligand which has rarely been found in the case of calix[4]arenes.  相似文献

Syntheses of p-H-calix[4]arene-1,3-crown-5 and p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-1,3-crown-5 ligands with two elongated, proton-ionisable side arms in the cone conformation are described. For solvent extractions from aqueous solution into chloroform, the influence of lengthening the lower rim proton-ionisable side arms and addition of para substituents to the upper rim of the calix[4]crown scaffold on the efficiency and selectivity of metal cation solvent extraction are evaluated.  相似文献

The article describes the synthesis of a family of novel calix[4]arene ionophores, 25,27-bis-(2-aminomethylpyridine-propoxy)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (5a), 25,27-bis-(3-aminomethylpyridine-propoxy)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (5b) and two chromogenic calix[4]arenes, 5,17-dinitro-25,27-bis-(2-aminomethylpyridine-propoxy)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (5c), 5,17-dinitro-25,27-bis-(3-aminomethylpyridine-propoxy)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (5d) bearing pyridinium units. In the synthesis, the upper and lower rims of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene were modified in order to acquire binding sites for the recognition of arsenate and dichromate anions. It has been observed that protonated alkylammonium forms of the ionophores showed high affinity toward dichromate and arsenate anions.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that combined analysis of powder X-ray diagrams and differential scanning calorimetry allows us to reveal complex polymorphic transformations of 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene upon the formation and thermal destruction of its complex with acetonitrile. The stability of 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene polymorph containing no solvent molecules in the crystal lattice after the removal of acetonitrile is assumed.  相似文献

The first example of a calix[8]quinone derivative, hexamethoxy-p-tert-butylcalix[8]-1,5-diquinone 5, has been synthesized from p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene 1by exploiting a protection-deprotection procedure. The structure of the 5·toluene inclusion compound has been determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The calix[8]arene molecule possesses a crystallographic inversion centre and assumes a ‘pseudo-chair-like’ conformation, with two opposite 3/4-cone moieties, which resembles the previously reported chair-like conformation of p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene. The 4 toluene molecules per unit cell occupy interstitial voids and are released in the temperature range of 30–160 °C.This revised version was published online in July 2005 with a corrected issue number.  相似文献

Amphiphilic PEGylated calix[5]arenes 1 and 2 were obtained in one step from the parent p-tert-butylcalix[5]arene and p-methylcalix[5]arene. Very low critical micellar concentrations (0.5 and 4.5 μM for 1 and 2 respectively) were determined by the Rose Bengal micellization method. Aggregation features were studied by means of 1H and DOSY NMR as well as by AFM. Release of Rose Bengal from the micellar environment was accomplished by increasing the temperature.  相似文献

(m-Methylbenzyloxy)-, bis(p-methylbenzyloxy)-, and bis(m-methylbenzyloxy)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes were prepared by reactions of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene with p- and m-methylbenzyl bromides in the presence of alkali metal carbonates. Silylation of these derivatives gave (m-methylbenzyloxy)bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-, bis(m-methylbenzyloxy)bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-, and bis(p-methylbenzyloxy)bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes. With phase-transfer catalysis, bis(p-methylbenzyloxy)bis(2-propenyloxy)- and bis(m-methylbenzyloxy)bis(2-propenyloxy)-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes were obtained. Alkylation of the monosubstituted calixarene yields the corresponding trisubstituted derivative.  相似文献
