Synthesis and Host Properties of (1,3)- p-tert-Butylcalix[5]crown-6 Derivatives Incorporating the 1,1'-Binaphthalene-2,2'-dioxy Subunit

Alkylation of p-tert-butylcalix[5]arene (1) with 2,2'-bis(5-tosyloxy-3-oxa-1-pentyloxy)-1,1'-binaphthalene ((±)-2) in the presence of CsF affords selectively racemic 1,3-bridged calix[5] [5]crown-6-triol 3, along with very small amounts of the (1,2)-bridged regioisomer 4. Compound 3 has been converted into tri-methoxy and tri--picolyloxy derivatives 5 and 6, respectively, by exhaustive alkylation with the appropriate electrophile and base. The direct separation of the enantiomers of racemates 3 and 6 was achieved by HPLC, using a chiral stationary phase (Chiralpak AD). Hosts 5 and 6 are able to selectively form 1 : 1 endo-cavity complexes with the linear RNH₃ ⁺ ions.     

p-tert-Butylcalix[4]arene-1,3-bis(allyloxyethoxy)ether coated capillaries for open-tubular electrochromatography.

The preparation and characterization of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-1,3-bis(allyloxyethoxy)ether (CA[4]-BAE) chemically coated capillaries via a free-radical reaction with vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES) that was attached onto the inner wall previously were carried out. IR spectra and decreased electroosmotic flow (EOF) suggested that the capillary was successfully coated with CA[4]-BAE. A slight slope of EOF versus pH at 5 < pH < 9 would help to make the separation reproducible. The CA[4]-BAE-coated capillary showed improved separations of toluidine isomers, naphthol isomers and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) compared with an uncoated capillary. The special selectivity indicates that there is a certain extent of host-guest interactions between the solutes and the CA[4]-BAE coating.     

Synthesis and Conformational Studies of Lower Rim Cyanomethyl Substituted Calix[4]arenes

The conformational inversion characteristics of calix[4]arenes carrying cyanomethyl groups on the lower rim have been investigated. Complete conversion from a 1,3-alternate to a partial cone conformation was observed for the 1,3-dicyanomethyl ether of calix[4]arene at room temperature, while at higher temperatures further inversion to a 1:1 mixture of partial cone and cone conformers occurred.

Lower Rim-Upper Rim Hydrogen-Bonded Adducts of Calix[4]arenes

An upper-rim-substituted calix[4]arene tetracarboxylic acid forms hydrogen-bonded duplexes with lower-rim-substituted tetra(4-pyridyl)- and tetra(3-pyridyl)calix[4]arenes in chloroform. The formation of these adducts was studied by extraction experiments. The association constants determined via (1)H NMR dilution experiments in CDCl(3) are 7.6 x 10(3) and 1.3 x 10(3) M(-1) for the 4-pyridyl and the 3-pyridyl derivative, respectively. IR studies in the solid state and in solution indicate that the interaction is based on hydrogen bonding and that the degree of proton transfer is negligible. VPO measurements support the formation of 1:1 adducts.     

Synthesis of [4-amino-5-(R-benzyl)-1,3-thiazol-2-ylsulfanyl] acetic acids

Russian Journal of Organic Chemistry - (4-Amino-1,3-thiazol-2-ylsulfanyl)acetic acids were synthesized by reaction of α-thiocyanatonitriles with sulfanylacetic acid in boiling acetonitrile.     

Lower Rim Substituted tert-Butylcalix[4]arenes (Part VI). Synthesis and Ionophoric Properties of 5,11,17,23-Tetra-tert-Butyl-25,26,27,28-Tetrakis(3-Diethoxyphosphorylpropoxy)Calix[4]arene

New compound – 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(3-diethoxyphosphorylpropoxy)calix[4]arene was synthesized and its complexing properties were investigated using ion-selective membrane electrodes. The compound selectively recognizes lithium and calcium ions. Stability constants of the respective complexes formed within the membrane were determined.     

Synthesis of 5-[bromo(aryl)methyl]-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-oxazolidin-4-ones

A Darzens condensation of α-chloroacetamide with aromatic aldehydes furnished a series of 3-aryl-2,3-epoxypropionamides, which were further converted to 5-[bromo(aryl)methyl]-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-oxazolidin-2-ones.     

Synthesis of isomeric 1,3- and 1,4-bis[3(4)-nitrofuroxan-4(3)-yl]nitrobenzenes by nitration of the corresponding isomeric 1,3- and 1,4-bis[3(4)-nitrofuroxan-4(3)-yl]benzenes

Isomeric 1,3- and 1,4-bis[3(4)-nitrofuroxan-4(3)-yl]nitro(dinitro)benzenes were synthe-sized in high yields by nitration of the corresponding 1,3- and 1,4-bis[3(4)-nitrofuroxan-4(3)-yl]benzenes with a mixture of 100% nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid. The influence of 3- and 4-nitrofuroxanyl fragments on the regioselectivity of the nitration was revealed. The structure of 1,3-bis(4-nitrofuroxan-3-yl)-4-nitrobenzene was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. 1,3- and 1,4-Bis(3-nitrofuroxan-4-yl)nitrobenzenes underwent thermal isomerization to more thermodynamically favorable 1,3- and 1,4-bis(4-nitrofuroxan-3-yl)nitrobenzenes.

以L-抗坏血酸(1)为原料,经3步反应制得(S)-缩异丙氧叉甘油醛(4).该手性醛与苄胺缩合制得相应的手性亚胺(5).甘氨酸经保护后制成酰氯,在有机碱作用下首先生成不稳定的烯酮(8),继与手性亚胺5迅速进行[2+2]环加成反应,合成标题化合物N-苄基-3(S)-邻苯二甲酰亚胺基-4(S)-[4(S)-2,2-二甲基-1,3-二氧环戊-4-基]-2-氧吖丁啶.由于环加成的面向立体选择性容易控制,由此所得产物的光学纯度和化学收率均较高

Synthesis of aromatic polyethers by Scholl reaction. V. Synthesis and polymerization of 1,3-bis[4-(1-naphthoxy) benzoyl]benzene, 1,4-bis[4-(1-naphthoxy)benzoyl]benzene,bis[4-(1-naphthoxy)phenyl]methane, 1,3-bis[4-(1-naphthoxy) phenylmethyl]benzene,and 1,4-bis-[4-(1-naphthoxy)phenylmethyl]benzene

This article describes the synthesis and the cation-radical polymerization (Scholl reaction) of 1,3-bis[4-(1-naphthoxy) benzoyl] benzene ( 6 ) and 1,4-bis[4-(1-naphthoxy) benzoyl]- benzene ( 7 ) initiated by FeCI₃. This polymerization produced poly(ether ether ketone ketone)s (PEEKK) of number average molecular weight (M?_n) up to 5400 g/mol. The synthesis of bis[4-(1-naphthoxy) phenyl] methane ( 8 ), 1,3-bis[4-(1-napthoxy) phenylmethyl] benzene ( 9 ), and 1,4-bis[4-(1-naphthoxy) phenylmethyl] benzene ( 10 ) are also described. Polyethers of M?_n up to 15400 g/mol at a FeCl₃/monomer molar ratio of 2/1 were obtained. An increased polymerizability of the monomers 9 and 10 containing two CH₂ groups versus that of the corresponding monomers containing two carbonyl groups ( 6 and 7 ) was observed. This enhanced polymerizability was explained based on the increased nucleophilicity of monomers 9 and 10 .     

Synthesis of 3-[4-(1-Benzofuran-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-yl]-2-(4-aryl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one Derivatives as Biological Agents

A protocol for the synthesis of 3-[4-(1-benzofuran-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-yl]-2-(4-aryl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one derivatives (5a–e) has been developed from 1-(1-benzofuran-2-yl)-2-bromoethanone (2),which served as a key intermediate for the synthesis of the title compounds. The reaction of compound 2 with thiourea furnished 4-(1-benzofuran-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-amine 3, which upon further reaction with various aromatic aldehydes, gave Schiff bases 4a–e. These Schiff bases, when treated with thioacetic acid in the presence of catalytic amount of anhydrous ZnCl₂, yielded thiazolidinone derivatives 5a–e. All the newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by analytical and spectral data and screened for their antimicrobial and analgesic activity.

3-[N-(4-甲基苯基)氨基羰基]-5-[4-(4-甲酸基苯甲氧基)苯亚甲基]-2,4-噻唑烷二酮的合成

以对甲苯胺和对甲基苯甲酸甲酯为起始原料,经NBS溴化、亲核取代、酸水解和Knoevenagel缩合等6步反应合成了抗细菌生物膜化合物—3-[N-(4-甲基苯基)氨基羰基]-5-[4-(4-甲酸基苯甲氧基)苯亚甲基]-2,4-噻唑烷二酮,总收率57.3％,其结构经1H NMR,ESI-MS和元素分析确证.
