We study semi-parallel lightlike hypersurfaces of an indefinite Kenmotsu manifold, tangent to the structure vector field. Some Theorems on parallel and semi-parallel vector field, geodesibility of lightlike hypersurfaces are obtained. The geometrical configuration of such lightlike hypersurfaces is established. We prove that, in totally contact umbilical lightlike hypersurfaces of an indefinite Kenmotsu manifold which has constant ${\overline{\phi}}$ -holomorphic sectional curvature c, tangent to the structure vector field and such that its distribution is parallel, the parallelism and semi-parallelism notions are equivalent.  相似文献

In this paper, we study pseudo-slant submanifolds and their warped products in Kenmotsu manifolds. We obtain the necessary conditions that a pseudoslant submanifold is locally a warped product and establish an inequality for the squared norm of the second fundamental form in terms of the warping function. We study the 6-dimensional oriented submanifolds of the Cayley algebra which are endowed with the Hermitian structure induced by 3-folds vector cross products. We prove that the type number of a cosymplectic hypersurface of a 6-dimensional Hermitian submanifold of the Cayley algebra is at most 3 and that a 6-dimensional Kaehler submanifold of the octave algebra has no cosymplectic hypersurfaces with the type number greater than one.  相似文献

Warped product manifolds are known to have applications in Physics. For instance, they provide an excellent setting to model space-time near a black hole or a massive star (cf. [HONG, S. T.: Warped products and black holes, Nuovo Cimento Soc. Ital. Fis. B 120 (2005), 1227–1234]). The studies on warped product manifolds with extrinsic geometric point of view are intensified after B. Y. Chen’s work on CR-warped product submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds. Later on, similar studies are carried out in the setting of Sasakian manifolds by Hasegawa and Mihai. As Kenmotsu manifolds are themselves warped product spaces, it is interesting to investigate warped product submanifolds of Kenmotsu manifolds. In the present note a larger class of warped product submanifolds than the class of contact CR-warped product submanifolds is considered. More precisely the existence of warped product submanifolds of a Kenmotsu manifold with one of the factors an invariant submanifold is ensured, an example of such submanifolds is provided and a characterization for a contact CR-submanifold to be a contact CR-warped product submanifold is established.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the fundamental theorem of algebra for polynomials with coefficients in the skew field of Hamilton numbers (quaternions) and in the division algebra of Cayley numbers (octonions). The proof, inspired by recent definitions and results on regular functions of a quaternionic and of a octonionic variable, follows the guidelines of the classical topological argument due to Gauss. A-manifolds and B-manifolds, introduced by Gray(1978), are two significant classes of Einstein-like Riemannian manifolds. A Riemannian manifold is Ricci parallel if and only if it is simultaneously an A-manifold and a B-manifold. The present paper proves that both focal submanifolds of each isoparametric hypersurface in unit spheres with g = 4 distinct principal curvatures are A-manifolds. As for the focal submanifolds with g = 6,m = 1 or 2, only one is an A-manifold, and neither is a B-manifold.  相似文献

In this note we obtain the Euler-Lagrange equations for the variational functionals defined by 2 and d2, whereg runs in the space of all the Hermitian metrics onM.
