We calculated and studied the quantum coherence effects of a degenerate transition Fg = 3 ↔ Fe = 2 system interacting with a weak linearly polarized (with σ± components) probe light and a strong linearly polarized (with σ± components) coupling field. Due to the competition between the drive Rabi frequency and the Zeeman splitting, electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) are appeared at the different values of applied magnetic field in both cases that the Zeeman splitting of excited state Δe is smaller than the Zeeman splitting of ground state Δg (i.e., Δe < Δg) and Δe > Δg. It is shown that the resonance is broader and contrasts are higher for Δe < Δg than that for Δe > Δg at the same Rabi frequencies of probe and coupling fields.  相似文献

Based on a differential equation derived analytically in terms of wakefield potential ?MW in a plasma filled rectangular waveguide, we investigate the wakefield (EMW) generated with the help of Gaussian-like microwave pulse under the effect of microwave frequency (f), pulse duration (τ), waveguide width (b), equilibrium plasma density (n0) and microwave intensity (I). The study conducted for three cases of τ > 1/fp, τ = 1/fp and τ < 1/fp, where fp is the plasma frequency, reveals that the amplitude of the wakefield is increased for the large pulse duration and higher microwave intensity but is decreased with the waveguide width and microwave frequency for all these cases. The wakefield shows stronger dependence on the microwave frequency when the microwave with larger intensity is used. The wakefield decreases at a faster rate with the waveguide width for the case of τ > 1/fp.  相似文献

The collective excitation in Al films deposited on Si(1 1 1)-7 × 7 surface was investigated by high-resolution electron-energy-loss spectroscopy (HREELS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). At the Al film thickness d < 10 ML, the surface plasmon of Al film has only a small contribution to the observed energy-loss peaks in the long wavelength limit (q≈0), while its contribution becomes significant for q>d-1. More interestingly, for thin Al films, the initial slope of the surface plasmon dispersion curve is positive at q0, in a sharp contrast to bulk Al surface where the energy dispersion is negative. These observations may be explained based on the screening interaction of the space charge region at the Al-Si interface.  相似文献

The time- and temperature-dependent drift mobility μd for dispersive transients in disordered solids is μd(T,t) = LEtT in terms of distance L, field E and transit time tT. Since current Itsu?(1?α) for t <Tand 0<α<1 by Scher-Montroll theory for hopping among localized states, it follows that μd(T) = α[μd(T,t)]α (L)1?α where τ≈ 10?13s is estimated. Further μd(T) ∝ exp (0KT) and the activation energy Δ0 is time independent. On this basis Δ for the carbazole polymers is ca. zero, that for a-Se is ca. 0.05 eV, and that for a-As2Se3 is 0.35 eV rather than 0.5, 0.3 and 0.6 eV respectively on a phenomenological basis for μd(T,t). Trap-controlled hopping transport may be excluded. Time-resolved optical studies of excess carrier recombination supplement mobility measurements in a-Si:H and a-As2Se3 as well as other systems. Combined results suggest a dielectric response mechanism in which the time-dependent hopping frequency of localized carriers ν ∝ tα?1 arises from distortion of the medium at localization sites. This is satisfied by Δ(T,t) = Δ0+(1?α)KTT ln(t/τ) where τ is the mean initial localization time of the carrier, 10?13?10?12s, Δio is the height of the barrier at T, and 0<α<l. Consequently ν = ν0(t/τ)α?1 exp(frsol|?Δ0/KT) which applies also to bimolecular recombination.  相似文献

The frequency dependence of the real (?′) and imaginary (?″) parts of the dielectric constant of polycrystalline hematite (α-Fe2O3) has been investigated in the frequency range 0-100 kHz and the temperature range 190-350 K, in order to reveal experimentally the electron hopping mechanism that takes place during the Morin transition of spin-flip process. The dielectric behaviour is described well by the Debye-type relaxation (α-dispersion) in the temperature regions T<233 K and T>338 K. In the intermediate temperature range 233 K<T<338 K a charge carrier mechanism takes place (electron jump from the O2− ion into one of the magnetic ions Fe3+) which gives rise to the low frequency conductivity and to the Ω-dispersion. The temperature dependence of relaxation time (τ) in the −ln τ vs 103/T plot shows two linear regions. In the first, T<238 K, τ increases with increasing T implying a negative activation energy −0.01 eV, and in the second region T>318 K τ decreases as the temperature increases implying a positive activation energy 0.12 eV. The total reorganization energy (0.12-0.01) 0.11 eV is in agreement with the adiabatic activation energy 0.11 eV given by an ab initio model in the literature. The temperature dependence of the phase shift in the frequencies 1, 5, 10 kHz applied shows clearly an average Morin temperature TMo=284±1 K that is higher than the value of 263 K corresponding to a single crystal due to the size and shape of material grains.  相似文献

Temperature and frequency dependence of dielectric constant (ε′) and dielectric loss (ε″) are studied in glassy Se70Te30 and Se70Te28Zn2. The measurements have been made in the frequency range (8-500 kHz) and in the temperature range 300 to 350 K. An analysis of the dielectric loss data shows that the Guintini's theory of dielectric dispersion based on two-electron hopping over a potential barrier is applicable in the present case.No dielectric loss peak is observed in glassy Se70Te30. However, such loss peaks exist in the glassy Se70Te28Zn2 in the above frequency and temperature range. The Cole-Cole diagrams have been used to determine some parameters such as the distribution parameter (α), the macroscopic relaxation time (τ0), the molecular relaxation time (τ) and the Gibb's free energy for relaxation (ΔF).  相似文献

Nb2O5 films with the thickness (d) ranging from 55 to 2900 nm were deposited on BK-7 substrates at room temperature by a low frequency reactive magnetron sputtering system. The structure, morphology and optical properties of the films were investigated by X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy and spectrophotometer, respectively. The experimental results indicated that the thickness affects drastically the structure, morphology and optical properties of the film. There exists a critical thickness of the film, dcri =2010 nm. The structure of the film remains amorphous as d < dcri. However, it becomes crystallized as d > dcri. The root mean square of surface roughness increases with increasing thickness as d > 1080 nm. Widths and depths of the holes on film surface increase monotonously with increasing thickness, and widths of the holes are larger than 1000 nm for the crystalline films. Refractive index increases with increasing thickness as d < dcri, while it decreases with increasing thickness as d > dcri. In addition, the extinction coefficient increases with increasing thickness as d > dcri.  相似文献

Time-resolved photography was employed to study plasma dynamics and particle ejection of laser-irradiated iron oxide materials. Nano-particle powder, pressed powder pellets and sintered ceramics were ablated in air and Ar gas background by means of short laser pulses (Nd:YAG laser wavelength λ = 1064 nm and pulse duration τL ≈ 6 ns; KrF laser λ = 248 nm and τL ≈ 20 ns). Plasma plume dynamics significantly depended on sample morphology. The ejection of non-luminous particles up to several hundreds of microseconds after the laser pulse was observed for powder and pressed powder target materials. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was employed for element analysis of iron oxide powders, pressed pellets and sintered ceramics. LIBS spectra of the different targets were comparable to each other and qualitatively independent of target morphology.  相似文献

A series of exchange-biased magnetic tunneling junctions (MTJs) were made in an in-plane deposition field (h) = 500 Oe. The deposition sequence was Si(1 0 0)/Ta(30 Å)/CoFeB(75 Å)/AlOx(d Å)/Co(75 Å)/IrMn(90 Å)/Ta(100 Å), where d was varied from 12 Å to 30 Å. The MTJ was formed by the cross-strip method with a junction area of 0.0225 mm2. The tunneling magnetoresistance (ΔR/R) of each MTJ was measured. The high-resolution cross-sectional transmission electron microscopic (HR X-TEM) image shows the very smooth interface and clear microstructure. X-ray diffraction (XRD) demonstrates that the IrMn layer of the MTJ exhibits a (1 1 1) texture. From the results (ΔR/R) increases from 17% to 50%, as d increases from 12 Å to 30 Å. The tunneling resistance (Ro) of these junctions ranges from 150 Ω to 250 Ω. The exchange-biasing field (Hex) of the MTJ is 50-95 Oe. Finally, the saturation resistance (Rs) was measured as a function of the angle (α) of rotation, where α is the angle between h and the in-plane saturation field (Hs) = 1.1 kOe. The following figure presents the dependence of Rs on α, instead of originally expected independence, the curve actually varies with a period of π.  相似文献

Background and objective

The analysis of the acoustic backscattering enhancements from tilted cylinders is of particular importance in determining some of the (visco)elastic properties of the cylinder, and/or its surrounding fluid in ultrasonic non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and imaging (NDI) applications. Previous related investigations on an aluminum cylinder limited to incidence angles varying from 0° to 40°, revealed the existence of an anomalous “pseudo-Rayleigh” mode (above the critical Rayleigh angle) identified as the rigid-body translational dipole (n = 1) mode. The objective here is to provide a complete investigation on the backscattering enhancements for incidence angles larger than 40° for various elastic and viscoelastic cylinder materials.

Method

Using the partial-wave series solution for the linear scattering by an infinite circular cylinder, the acoustic backscattering from isotropic elastic and viscoelastic (polymer-type) cylinders excited by an obliquely incident plane acoustic wave is investigated. Total and resonance backscattering form functions are calculated for several elastic and viscoelastic cylinder materials immersed in water versus the angle of incidence 0° ? α < 90°. The “pure” resonance peaks are isolated by subtracting a rigid background from the total form function, so the associated resonance modes are properly identified.

Results and conclusion

The plots of the partial-wave series reveal acoustic backscattering enhancements (not shown in previous investigations) generally occurring at ka? 0.1 at a critical angle αc bounded by the longitudinal and shear waves coupling angles θL=sin-1(c/cL) and θS=sin-1(c/cS) such that θL<αc<θS (where cL and cS are the phase velocities of the longitudinal and shear waves inside the elastic cylinder, and c is the speed of sound in the surrounding medium). It is shown here that the backscattering enhancements with a critical angle θL<αc<θS result from the excitation of the monopole (= 0) resonance mode. Moreover, additional acoustic backscattering enhancements still occur in the range 1 ?ka? 6 even though the angle of tilt is greater than the Rayleigh wave coupling angle θR=sin-1(c/cR) (where cR is the Rayleigh wave velocity in an elastic half-space). The resonance scattering theory shows that such additional enhancements are associated with the excitation of a dipole (n = 1) resonance mode which may result from the interference of meridional and/or helical waves propagating along the cylinder’s surface. It is therefore essential to consider tilt angles ranging from normal to end-on incidence for a complete analysis of the backscattering by elastic and viscoelastic cylinders.  相似文献

The effect of a positive charge left to a small metal particle immediately after photoemission, so called the final state effect is studied for Au 4f binding energy (EB) shifts. The size and shape of Au nano-particles were determined by high-resolution medium energy ion scattering combined with scanning electron microscopy of a field emission type. The shape of Au nano-particles is well approximated by a partial sphere with diameter d and height h. It is found that the EB shift is well expressed as number of atoms per particle (nA) and independent of support species. The EB shift changes dramatically at a critical nA value of ∼70 atoms, where metal-nonmetal transition takes place. In the nonmetal region, the EB shift increases steeply almost exponentially with decreasing nA and in contrast, gradually decreases with increasing nA in the metallic region. The effect of the positive charge of an Au 4f vacancy created by photoemission is expressed by the relaxation time τ and the effective charge +αe when the photoelectron just leaves the Au particle surface (e: electron charge, α < 1).  相似文献

We report a theoretical and experimental investigation on the structure and tuning capabilities of cascaded associations of microwave photonic filters composed of a single-source incoherent filter and a continuous-sample filter based on periodically-sliced broadband sources that undergo dispersion after being modulated. We derive the condition that guarantees both incoherent operation and cascading of the radio-frequency responses. This condition implies a lower bound for the ratio between resonance bandwidth (Δf) of the continuous-sample filter and the free spectral range (FSR) of the single-source filter, thus showing the possibility of cascading filters in two complementary regimes, Δf/FSR < 1 and >1. The tunability of the cascaded responses is also explored in a series of proof-of-concept experiments, where a static response of a single-tap, incoherent loop filter is reconfigured by use of a Solc filter. In particular, it is demonstrated a reconfigurable single and dual-bandpass cascaded response, which can be further modified by changes in dispersion, spectral period of the slicing filter, central wavelength or spectral width of the broadband source, and apodization of the resonance. The results are compared with the predictions of the Gaussian model for the degradation of resonances in continuous-sample filters due to second-order dispersion.  相似文献

This paper presents a finite volume local evolution Galerkin (FVLEG) scheme for solving the hyperbolic conservation laws. The FVLEG scheme is the simplification of the finite volume evolution Galerkin method (FVEG). In FVEG, a necessary step is to compute the dependent variables at cell interfaces at tn + τ (0 < τ ? Δt). The FVLEG scheme is constructed by taking τ → 0 in the evolution operators of FVEG. The FVLEG scheme greatly simplifies the evaluation of the numerical fluxes. It is also well suited with the semi-discrete finite volume method, making the flux evaluation being decoupled with the reconstruction procedure while maintaining the genuine multi-dimensional nature of the FVEG methods. The derivation of the FVLEG scheme is presented in detail. The performance of the proposed scheme is studied by solving several test cases. It is shown that FVLEG scheme can obtain very satisfactory numerical results in terms of accuracy and resolution.  相似文献

Iron-oxypnictide superconductor NdFeAs(O0.9F0.1) was studied using both low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) and tunnel break junction (BJ) methods. STM topography showed granular and spot structures with a typical size of several nanometers, most probably governed by fluorine atom distribution. The majority of STS conductance, G, versus voltage, V, curves revealed V-shaped structures, whereas some of G(V) dependences possessed coherent gap peaks or kinks at gap energies. At the same time, G(V) dependences obtained by the BJ technique showed clear-cut coherence peaks with peak-to-peak distances Vpp = 4Δ/e ∼ 25 mV at 4.2 K, where Δ is the superconducting energy gap, > 0 is the elementary charge. This yields Δ(0) = 6–7 meV, so that the ratio 2Δ(0)/kBTc is about 3–4, kB being the Boltzmann constant. This value is consistent with the conventional weak-coupling s-wave Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory.  相似文献

Gilbert's damping constants, α, of Co(tCo)/Pt (1.4 nm) multilayer thin films are investigated by Q-band FMR analysis. α is calculated from the resonance width of the FMR spectrum. With decreasing tCo, the α value decreases from 0.034 (tCo=8.7 nm) to 0.023 (tCo=1.8 nm), and then increases to 0.037 (tCo=1.0 nm). The decrease of α with tCo>1.8 nm is probably due to the eddy current loss effects. The increase of α with tCo<1.8 nm would be caused by the increase of the distortion between the Co and the Pt layers at the interface. When the magnetic field direction was changed from θ=90° (parallel to the specimen) to θ=0° (perpendicular to the specimen), the α of all the specimens increased, and a sharp step in α was observed around θ=40°, where the α has the maximum value.  相似文献

The orientation dependences of the converse longitudinal piezoelectric constant d33,f, and the in-plane converse piezoelectric constant e31,f, are calculated for tetragonal barium titanate epitaxial films. The calculations demonstrate that both e31,f and d33,f have their maximum values along an axis close to the (1 1 1) direction of the pseudo-cubic system, which are similar to the orientation dependence results for a tetragonal BaTiO3 single crystal. The calculated piezoelectric constants for a (1 1 1) oriented BaTiO3 epitaxial film (e31,f = −23 C/m2, d33,f = 124 pm/V) suggest that it is a good candidate material for lead-free MEMS applications.  相似文献

In this work, we developed the multifractality and its formalism to investigate the surface topographies of ITO thin films prepared by electron beam deposition method for various annealing temperatures from their atomic force microscopy (AFM) images. Multifractal analysis shows that the spectrum width, Δαα = αmax − αmin), of the multifractal spectra, f(α), can be used to characterize the surface roughness of the ITO films quantitatively. Also, it is found that the f(α) shapes of the as-deposited and annealed films remained left hooked (that is Δf = f(αmin) − f(αmax) > 0), and falls within the range 0.149-0.677 depending upon the annealing temperatures.  相似文献

Temperature dependent dielectric relaxation and thermodynamic properties of polyethylene glycols HO[CH2CH2O)nH with number average molecular weight 200 (n = 4), 300 (n = 7), 400 (n = 9) and 600 (n = 14) g mol− 1 have been studied using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) in the frequency range 10 MHz to 20 GHz. The frequency dependence of the complex dielectric permittivity is analyzed by the Havriliak-Negami expression. The static permittivity ε0, high frequency limiting static permittivity ε, average relaxation time τ0 and thermodynamic energy parameters such as free energy, enthalpy of activation and entropy of activation have been determined. The average free energy of activation ΔFτ for PEG molecules was found to be in the range 4-5 kcal mol− 1. The values of entropy ΔSτ for PEG-200, PEG-400 and PEG-600 molecules were found to be positive while entropy ΔSτ for PEG-300 molecules was found negative, which confirms that the configuration of PEG-300 involved in the dipolar orientation has an activated state, which is more ordered than the normal state compared to PEG-200, PEG-400 and PEG-600 molecules.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the problem of continuous time option pricing with transaction costs by using the homogeneous subdiffusive fractional Brownian motion (HFBM) Z(t)=X(Sα(t)), 0<α<1, here dX(τ)=μX(τ)(dτ)2H+σX(τ)dBH(τ), as a model of asset prices, which captures the subdiffusive characteristic of financial markets. We find the corresponding subdiffusive Black-Scholes equation and the Black-Scholes formula for the fair prices of European option, the turnover and transaction costs of replicating strategies. We also give the total transaction costs.  相似文献

The study reports on the relevancy and accuracy of using mobile phones in participatory noise pollution monitoring studies in an urban context. During one year, 60 participants used the same smartphone model to measure environmental noise at 28 different locations in Paris. All measurements were performed with the same calibrated application. The sound pressure level was recorded from the microphone every second during a 10-min period. The participants frequently measured the evolution of the sound level near two standard monitoring sound stations (in a square and near a boulevard), which enables the assessment of the accuracy and relevancy of collected acoustic measurements. The instantaneous A-weighting sound level, energy indicators such as LA,eq, LA10, LA50 or LA90 and event indicators such as the number of noise events exceeding a certain threshold Lα (NNEL ? Lα) were measured and compared with reference measurements. The results show that instantaneous sound levels measured with mobile phones correlate very well (r > 0.9, p < 0.05) with sound levels measured with a class 1 reference sound level meter with a root mean square error smaller than 3 dB(A). About 10% of the measurements for the boulevard location (respectively 20% for the square) were inaccurate (r < 0.3, p < 0.05). Nevertheless, mobile phone measurements are in agreement for the LA50 and the LA90 acoustic indicators with the fixed station (4-m high) measurements, with a median deviation smaller than 1.5 dB(A) for the boulevard (respectively 3 dB(A) for the square).  相似文献
