本文报道了利用光脉冲在10m单模光纤中传播所产生的自相位调制(SPM)、互相位调制(XPM)、群速色散(GVD)和受激喇曼散射(SRS)的共同作用,实现光脉冲光谱和时间加宽,经光栅对线性啁啾补偿后,将脉宽15ps的1.06μm光脉冲压缩至小于6ps,能量大于100nJ,压缩比>2.5。  相似文献

在密集波分复用强度调制直接检测光纤系统中 ,导出了包含互相位调制和受激拉曼散射共同作用的强度/相位矩阵表达式。在计算强度噪声谱的基础上 ,研究了互相位调制和受激拉曼散射的相互耦合并用于密集波分复用系统的噪声分析。分析表明 ,受激拉曼散射主要引入低频串扰噪声 ,而互相位调制主要引入高频串扰噪声。相邻较近信道引入的串扰噪声主要来源于互相位调制 ,相邻较远信道引入的串扰噪声主要来源于受激拉曼散射。在单级传输 (无色散补偿 )系统中 ,系统性能一般首先受到互相位调制的限制  相似文献

在具有级联光放大器的密集波分复用强度调制一直接检测光纤系统中,导出了包含互相位调制和受激拉曼散射共同作用的强度/相位矩阵表达式。在计算强度噪声谱的基础上,研究了互相位调制和受激拉曼散射的相互耦合并用于密集波分复用系统的噪声分析。在带色散补偿的密集波分复用级联光纤传输系统中(如80信道,信道间距50GHz),受激拉曼散射引入的串扰噪声功率可能超过互相位调制。最后,给出了密集波分复用系统分析与设计的若干建议。  相似文献

窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤拉曼放大器在非线性频率变换、遥感探测和量子信息等领域有广泛的应用前景.综合考虑受激拉曼散射(stimulated Raman scattering,SRS)、受激布里渊散射(stimulated Brillouin scattering,SBS)、自相位调制(self-phase modulation)和交叉相位调制(cross-phase modulation)等非线性效应,建立了窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤拉曼放大器的非线性动力学模型.仿真分析了放大器中脉冲激光的时频演化特性,对比研究了抽运脉冲宽度、光纤长度和信号光功率等因素对放大器性能的影响.研究发现,上述因素会影响放大器的SRS阈值、SBS阈值、输出激光线宽、激光转换效率等.例如,当脉冲宽度为800 ns时,SBS随着抽运功率的增加而发生,限制了激光功率的提升;减短抽运脉宽可以抑制SBS,但是输出激光的线宽易于展宽到数百MHz以上;增加光纤长度可以获得更低的SRS阈值和更高的转换效率,但是SBS效应和光谱展宽程度也随之增强.系统搭建中需要平衡各非线性效应,选择合适的系统参数.研究内容可以为窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤拉曼放大器的设计搭建提供参考.  相似文献

自相位调制可用于信号脉冲的整形,可实现归零码(RZ)信号的再生。以高非线性光纤(HNLF)为介质,在高非线性光纤中实现了拉曼集总放大和信号脉冲的自相位调制。从理论上分析了同向拉曼泵浦增强信号的自相位调制,大大降低了所需的信号光强度。论证了在色散长度(LD)远大于HNLF长度(L)时由自相位调制(SPM)导致的频谱展宽,它与脉冲的啁啾无关,频谱的功率密度与脉冲的强度无关。因此在高非线性光纤之后加入偏移载波频率的带通滤波器可实现归零码信号的再生。集中拉曼放大可增强再生性能。  相似文献

A performance analysis is carried out to evaluate the effect of cross-phase modulation (XPM) on a dispersion-managed 20 Gb/s optical wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) transmission system using either the on-off keying (OOK) or the different-phase-shifting keying (DPSK) modulation, in the presence of the group-velocity dispersion (GVD), self-phase modulation (SPM), and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE). It is found that to achieve a bit error rate (BER) of 10−9 at a distance of 160 km, a 1.0 dB XPM power penalty is incurred for input channel power of 3 dBm in the OOK transmission and 7 dBm in the DPSK transmission. The power penalty increases with input channel powers and is inversely proportional and exhibits oscillations with respect to the channel separation. The oscillation is evenly spaced for the DPSK but not for the OOK and suggests the presence of optimum separation values. The XPM penalty decreases when a high dispersion fiber is used and increases linearly with increasing dispersion slope. Small residual dispersion can reduce the penalty of nonlinear effects.  相似文献

In this paper, the impact of second-order dispersion (2OD), third-order dispersion (3OD) and modulation frequency over stimulated Raman scattering (SRS)- and cross-phase modulation (XPM)-induced crosstalk in sub-carrier-multiplexed (SCM) wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission link has been analyzed. It has been observed that there is significant effect of 2OD, 3OD and modulation frequency on the SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalk in a SCM-WDM transmission link. Here the results for SRS- and XPM-induced crosstalk have been reported with independent and combined higher-order dispersion. It has been observed that XPM-induced crosstalk lies between [−52.8 to −45.3] and [−94.7 to −78.6] dB in the presence of 2OD and 3OD respectively for modulation frequencies varied from 500 MHz to 2.0 GHz, while it is in the range of [−94.4 to −84] and [−128.5 to −117] dB when both SRS and XPM are taken into consideration.  相似文献

为克服长距离光纤有线电视(CATV)系统中采用高增益掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)所带来的非线性损伤.对在残留边带调幅(AM—VSB)外调制光纤有线电视系统中采用光纤分布拉曼放大时的组合二阶失真(CSO)进行了,理论研究。根据拉曼放大对信号光强的增益作用。导出了分布拉曼放大条件下的薛定谔方程。并采用微扰法解出了存在拉曼分布放大时,残留边带调幅外调制有线电视系统中.自相位调制(SPM)导致的组合二阶失真的解析表达式。相应数值计算结果表明.相对于采用掺铒光纤放大器功放.采用相同放大倍数的分布托曼放大可使长距离系统中自相位调制导致的组合二阶失真性能改善10dB以上。因此可以得出结论:在长距离残留边带调幅凋制的有线电视系统中,采用分布式光纤拉曼放大可以较好地改善由自相位调制导致的组合二阶失真恶化。  相似文献

Based on dual-order stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) of a single 1395 nm Raman fiber laser in 75 km single mode fiber and its corresponding dispersion compensation module, a hybrid Raman/Erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) for long wavelength band (L-band) amplification is realized by inserting a segment of EDF within the span. By comparing the performance of gain and noise in four hybrid amplifiers with different span configurations, we find that the distribution of the secondary L-band amplification obtained from the EDF along the link has a great influence on the performance of the hybrid amplifier. Both gain and noise performance of hybrid amplifier can be improved significantly by optimizing the location of the EDF. Moreover, we can extend the flat gain bandwidth from L-band to central wavelength band (C-band) plus L-band by recycling the residual first-order SRS to pump a segment of EDF with proper length.  相似文献

With the development of the ultra-high speed and large capacity, the channel crosstalk cause by nonlinear effects become more apparent. This paper research the crosstalk produced by refractive index fluctuation nonlinear effects, establish the corresponding mathematical models and physical monitoring models. The experiment simulation results show when the input power is less than 50 mW, the channel crosstalk caused by the nonlinear effects is low and can be ignored; when input power greater than 50 mW, the channel crosstalk caused by the nonlinear effects is more high and affect transmission quality; and with the further increase in power, the channel crosstalk caused by SPM and XPM gradual increase, when the input power is greater than 300 mW, the crosstalk caused by SPM and XPM morn than by FWM.  相似文献

Efficient numerical modelling of the power, spectral and statistical properties of partially coherent quasi-CW Raman fiber laser radiation is presented. XPM between pump wave and generated Stokes wave is not important in the generation spectrum broadening and XPM term can be omitted in propagation equation what sufficiently speeds-up simulations. The time dynamics of Raman fiber laser (RFL) is stochastic exhibiting events several times more intense that the mean value on the ps timescale. However, the RFL has different statistical properties on different time scales. The probability density function of spectral power density is exponential for the generation modes located either in the spectrum centre or spectral wings while the phases are distributed uniformly. The pump wave preserves the initial Gaussian statistics during propagation in the laser cavity. Intense pulses in the pump wave are evolved under the SPM influence and are not disturbed by the dispersion. Contrarily, in the generated wave the dispersion plays a significant role that results in stochastic behavior.  相似文献

利用包含喇曼增益、抽运消耗、自相位调制、交叉相位调制和群速度色散效应的耦合非线性薛定谔方程组,对千瓦级高功率纳秒脉冲在单模光纤中的传输特性进行了模拟计算.分析了输入脉冲和斯托克斯脉冲的演化过程,研究了大模面积光纤对受激喇曼散射的抑制作用.研究结果表明,采用模面积为530 μm~2的光子晶体光纤作为惯性约束聚变脉冲整形系统的传输介质,能有效抑制受激拉曼散射,不但信号衰减较小,而且中心凹陷程度较低.  相似文献

This paper presents a model that described the process of inter-influence between cross phase modulation (XPM) and polarization effects such as polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and polarization dependant loss (PDL) in an optical fiber communication system. Previous papers have discussed PMD-PDL and PMD-XPM effects in separate models, but in this work we developed a model that is capable of characterizing and evaluating PMD, PDL and XPM simultaneously. From the model, we found that PMD and PDL can be affected by XPM. The presence of XPM changed the vector directions of PMD and PDL in Stokes space.  相似文献

This paper investigates the performance of a given gigabit optical code division multiple access (O-CDMA) network for two distinct families of two-dimensional (2-D) codes. The purpose of this analysis is to provide additional information regarding code adequacy to a given system availability so that performance optimization can be more efficiently carried out. The analysis takes into account construction aspects of the codes as well as dispersive and nonlinear effects in the single-mode fiber (SMF), such as group velocity dispersion (GVD), polarization mode dispersion (PMD), self-phase modulation (SPM), and cross-phase modulation (XPM). The analysis focuses on four different transmission rates, i.e., 1.25, 2.5, 5, and 10 Gbit/s, and describes how signal degradations impact the performance of the network. The simulations are carried out for a back-to-back system and for a 50-km dispersion-compensated fiber-optic link.  相似文献

在拉曼效应和参量放大共同作用下,当激光脉冲在双折射光纤中传输时,根据所遵循的耦合模方程,通过引入平行拉曼增益的洛伦兹模型,导出了当输入泵浦波偏振方向同双折射轴成45°角时,在双折射色散阶跃光纤中拉曼效应和参量放大共同作用所导致的增益,讨论并分析了在不同色散区增益谱随相关参量的变化。结果表明:由于拉曼效应、参量放大、双折射和色散的相互作用,导致增益谱的斯托克斯波与反斯托克斯波彼此不对称;在反常色散区,产生的增益以反斯托克斯波为主,在正常色散区则以斯托克斯波为主;当表征距离的级数m发生变化时,增益谱也随之发生变化,可以利用色散阶跃光纤在适当的级数m位置提取T频率脉冲。  相似文献

分析了信号光入射后可能发生的效应基于电磁场理论,综合光纤受激喇曼散射(SRS)效应、建立了光纤喇曼放大泵浦光与斯托克斯光、信号光的关联方程,给出了系统增益形成正反馈条件的表达式,结果表明:在光纤参量满足增益正反馈的条件下,当SRS增益对应于非饱和增益工作状态时入射信号光得到放大,SRS增益愈高则放大倍数愈高,并有区段上SRS增益相对低时其关联程度相对高.  相似文献

The authors show the formation of slow temporal vector optical solitons in a cold lifetime-broadened four-level inverted-Y atomic system. We demonstrate that Maxwell’s equations for describing two orthogonally polarised components of a low intensity signal field can evolve into two coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger equations, which results in various distortion-free temporal vector optical solitons, such as bright-bright or dark-dark vector solitons. These results are produced from the correct balance between dispersion, self- and cross-phase modulation (SPM and XPM) effects. We also show that the integrable Manakov model can be realised by adjusting the corresponding SPM, XPM and dispersion effects of this inverted-Y atomic system.  相似文献

The performance of a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system with optical cross-connects (OXCs) and in the presence of polarization and nonlinear effects was analyzed. We determined the effect of PMD and PDL; nonlinearity such as XPM, SPM, and FWM; and CD on the system performance. We found that the system outage probability is highest at DGD threshold for the respective maximum eye closure (EC). We showed that the allowable DGD depends on the time slot for one bit T, which is the inverse of the network bit rate. Wider T is more immune to large PMD with the EC still maintained at the same level since DGD/T is unchanged. Our analysis also indicated that as DGD increases, BER increases. The BER also increases with increase in PDL and further increases with the presence of XPM, SPM, FWM, and CD.  相似文献
