In this paper an analog of the Blum-Hanson theorem for quantum quadratic processes on the von Neumann algebra is proved, i.e., it is established that the following conditions are equivalent:
i)  P( t )x is weakly convergent tox 0;
ii)  for any sequence {a n} of nonnegative integrable functions on [1, ∞) such that ∝ 1 a n(t)dt=1 for anyn and lim n→∞a n=0, the integral ∝ 1 a n(t)P( t )x dt is strongly convergent tox 0 inL 2(M, ϕ), wherex ɛM,P( t ) is a quantum quadratic process,M is a von Neumann algebra, andϕ is an exact normal state onM.

Let L be the infinitesimal generator of an analytic semigroup on L2 (Rn) with suitable upper bounds on its heat kernels. Assume that L has a bounded holomorphic functional calculus on L2(Rn). Let ℐ(ℝn) be the Schwartz class on ℝn and ℐ(ℝn) be the collection of functions ϕ ∊ ℐ(ℝn) with additional property that
for all multiindices γ. Let (ℐ(ℝn))′ and (ℐ(ℝn))′ be their dual spaces, respectively. In this paper, it is proved that atomic Hardy spaces defined via (ℐ(ℝn))′ and (ℐ(ℝn))′ coincide with each other in some sense. As an application, we show that under the condition that the Littlewood-Paley function of f belongs to L p(ℝn) for some p ∊ (0,1], the condition f ∊ (ℐ(ℝn))′ is equivalent to that f ∊ (ℐ(ℝn))′ and f vanishes weakly at infinity. We further discuss some new classes of distributions defined via ℐ(ℝn) and ℐ(ℝn), also including their corresponding Hardy spaces.   相似文献

We prove a non-commutative version of the weak-type (1,1) boundedness of square functions of martingales. More precisely, we prove that there is an absolute constantK with the following property: ifM is a semifinite von Neumann algebra with a faithful normal traceτ and (M n ) n=1 is an increasing filtration of von Neumann subalgebras of (M then for any martingalex= n=1 inL 1(M,τ), adapted to (M n ) n=1 , there is a decomposition into two sequences (x n ) n=1 and (z n ) n=1 withx n=y n+z nfor everyn≥1 and such that . This generalizes a result of Burkholder from classical martingale theory to non-commutative martingales. We also include some applications to martingale Hardy spaces. Let M n be an n-dimensional compact C -differentiable manifold, n ≥ 2, and let S be a C 1-differential system on M n . The system induces a one-parameter C 1 transformation group φ t (−∞ < t < ∞) over M n and, thus, naturally induces a one-parameter transformation group of the tangent bundle of M n . The aim of this paper, in essence, is to study certain ergodic properties of this latter transformation group. Among various results established in the paper, we mention here only the following, which might describe quite well the nature of our study. (A) Let M be the set of regular points in M n of the differential system S. With respect to a given C Riemannian metric of M n , we consider the bundle of all (n−2) spheres Q x n−2, xM, where Q x n−2 for each x consists of all unit tangent vectors of M n orthogonal to the trajectory through x. Then, the differential system S gives rise naturally to a one-parameter transformation group ψ t # (−∞<t<∞) of . Given an orthogonal polynomial system {Q n (x)} n=0 , define another polynomial system by where α n are complex numbers and t is a positive integer. We find conditions for {P n (x)} n=0 to be an orthogonal polynomial system. When t=1 and α1≠0, it turns out that {Q n (x)} n=0 must be kernel polynomials for {P n (x)} n=0 for which we study, in detail, the location of zeros and semi-classical character. Recently, q-Bernstein polynomials have been intensively investigated by a number of authors. Their results show that for q ≠ 1, q-Bernstein polynomials possess of many interesting properties. In this paper, the convergence rate for iterates of both q-Bernstein polynomials and their Boolean sum are estimated. Moreover, the saturation of {Bn(., qn)} when n → ∞ and convergence rate of Bn(f,q;x) when f ∈ C^n-1 [0, 1], q → ∞ are also presented.  相似文献

Given a (known) function f:[0,1]→(0,1), we consider the problem of simulating a coin with probability of heads f(p) by tossing a coin with unknown heads probability p, as well as a fair coin, N times each, where N may be random. The work of Keane and O’Brien (ACM Trans. Model. Comput. Simul. 4(2):213–219, 1994) implies that such a simulation scheme with the probability ℙ p (N<∞) equal to 1 exists if and only if f is continuous. Nacu and Peres (Ann. Appl. Probab. 15(1A):93–115, 2005) proved that f is real analytic in an open set S⊂(0,1) if and only if such a simulation scheme exists with the probability ℙ p (N>n) decaying exponentially in n for every pS. We prove that for α>0 noninteger, f is in the space C α [0,1] if and only if a simulation scheme as above exists with ℙ p (N>n)≤C(Δ n (p)) α , where \varDelta n(x):=max{?{x(1-x)/n},1/n}\varDelta _{n}(x):=\max\{\sqrt{x(1-x)/n},1/n\}. The key to the proof is a new result in approximation theory: Let B+n\mathcal{B}^{+}_{n} be the cone of univariate polynomials with nonnegative Bernstein coefficients of degree n. We show that a function f:[0,1]→(0,1) is in C α [0,1] if and only if f has a series representation ?n=1Fn\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}F_{n} with Fn ? B+nF_{n}\in \mathcal{B}^{+}_{n} and ∑ k>n F k (x)≤C(Δ n (x)) α for all x∈[0,1] and n≥1. We also provide a counterexample to a theorem stated without proof by Lorentz (Math. This paper concerns the maximum value and the set of maximum points of a random version of Takagi’s continuous, nowhere differentiable function. Let F(x):=∑ n=1 ε n ϕ(2 n−1 x), xR, where ɛ 1, ɛ 2, ... are independent, identically distributed random variables taking values in {−1, 1}, and ϕ is the “tent map” defined by ϕ(x) = 2 dist (x, Z). Let p:= P (ɛ 1 = 1), M:= max {F(x): xR}, and := {x ∈ [0, 1): F(x) = M}. An explicit expression for M is given in terms of the sequence {ɛ n }, and it is shown that the probability distribution μ of M is purely atomic if p < , and is singular continuous if p ≧ . In the latter case, the Hausdorff dimension and the multifractal spectrum of μ are determined. It is shown further that the set is finite almost surely if p < , and is topologically equivalent to a Cantor set almost surely if p ≧ . The distribution of the cardinality of is determined in the first case, and the almost-sure Hausdorff dimension of is shown to be (2p − 1)/2p in the second case. We consider an unknown response function f defined on Δ = [0, 1] d , 1 ≤ d ≤ ∞, taken at n random uniform design points and observed with Gaussian noise of known variance. Given a positive sequence r n → 0 as n → ∞ and a known function f 0L 2(Δ), we propose, under general conditions, a unified framework for goodness-of-fit testing the null hypothesis H 0: f = f 0 against the alternative H 1: f ∈ $ \mathcal{F} $ \mathcal{F} , ∥ff 0∥ ≥ r n , where $ \mathcal{F} $ \mathcal{F} is an ellipsoid in the Hilbert space L 2(Δ) with respect to the tensor product Fourier basis and ∥ · ∥ is the norm in L 2(Δ). We obtain both rate and sharp asymptotics for the error probabilities in the minimax setup. The derived tests are inherently non-adaptive. Several illustrative examples are presented. In particular, we consider functions belonging to ellipsoids arising from the well-known multidimensional Sobolev and tensor product Sobolev norms as well as from the less-known Sloan-Woźniakowski norm and a norm constructed from multivariable analytic functions on the complex strip.  相似文献

Let Ω ⊂ ℝ d be a compact convex set of positive measure. In a recent paper, we established a definiteness theory for cubature formulae of order two on Ω. Here we study extremal properties of those positive definite formulae that can be generated by a centroidal Voronoi tessellation of Ω. In this connection we come across a class of operators of the form Ln[f](x): = ?i=1n fi(x)(f(yi) + á?f(yi), x-yi?)L_n[f](\boldsymbol{x}):= \sum_{i=1}^n \phi_i(\boldsymbol{x})(f(\boldsymbol{y}_i) + \langle\nabla f(\boldsymbol{y}_i), \boldsymbol{x}-\boldsymbol{y}_i\rangle), where y1,..., yn\boldsymbol{y}_1,\dots, \boldsymbol{y}_n are distinct points in Ω and {ϕ 1, ..., ϕ n } is a partition of unity on Ω. We present best possible pointwise error estimates and describe operators L n with a smallest constant in an L p error estimate for 1 ≤ p < ∞ . For a generalization, we introduce a new type of Voronoi tessellation in terms of a twice continuously differentiable and strictly convex function f. It allows us to describe a best operator L n for approximating f by L n [f] with respect to the L p norm.  相似文献

Let B be a Blaschke product with simple zeros in the unit disk, let Λ be the set of its zeros, and let ϕ∈H. It is known that ϕ+BH is a weak* generator of the algebra H/BH if (for B that satisfy the Carleson condition (C)) and only if the sequence ϕ(Λ) is a weak* generator of the algebra l. In this paper, we show that for any Blaschke product B with simple zeros that does not satisfy condition (C), there exists B=B1·…·BN, where N ∈ℕ, and B1, …, BN are Blaschke products satisfying condition (C), there exists a function ϕ∈H such that ϕ(Λ) is a weak* generator of the algebra l, and ϕ+BH is not a weak* generator of the algebra H/BH.
