We consider the second-order differential system, (1) (R(t) Y′)′ + Q(t) Y = 0, where R, Q, Y are n × n matrices with R(t), Q(t) symmetric and R(t) positive definite for t ϵ [a, + ∞) (R(t) > 0, ta). We establish sufficient conditions in order that all prepared solutions Y(t) of (1) are oscillatory; that is, det Y(t) vanishes infinitely often on [a, + ∞). The conditions involve the smallest and largest eigen-values λn(R−1(t)) and λ1(∝at Q(s) ds), respectively. The results obtained can be regarded as generalizing well-known results of Leighton and others in the scalar case.  相似文献

Some new oscillation criteria are established for the matrix linear Hamiltonian system X′=A(t)X+B(t)Y, Y′=C(t)X−A∗(t)Y under the hypothesis: A(t), B(t)=B∗(t)>0, and C(t)=C∗(t) are n×n real continuous matrix functions on the interval [t0,∞), (−∞<t0). Some parallel results of Gross' paper (Potential theory on Hilbert space, J. Functional Analysis1 (1967), 123–181) are obtained for Uhlenbeck-Ornstein process U(t) in an abstract Wiener space (H, B, i). Generalized number operator N is defined by Nf(x) = ?lim∈←0{E[f(Uξ))] ? f(x)}/Eξ, where τx? is the first exit time of U(t) starting at x from the ball of radius ? with center x. It is shown that Nf(x) = ?trace D2f(x)+〈Df(x),x〉 for a large class of functions f. Let rt(x, dy) be the transition probabilities of U(t). The λ-potential Gλf, λ > 0, and normalized potential Rf of f are defined by Gλf(X) = ∫0e?λtrtf(x) dt and Rf(x) = ∫0 [rtf(x) ? rtf(0)] dt. It is shown that if f is a bounded Lip-1 function then trace D2Gλf(x) ? 〈DGλf(x), x〉 = ?f(x) + λGλf(x) and trace D2Rf(x) ? 〈DRf(x), x〉 = ?f(x) + ∫Bf(y)p1(dy), where p1 is the Wiener measure in B with parameter 1. We construct stable invariant manifolds for semiflows generated by the nonlinear impulsive differential equation with parameters x'= A(t)x + f(t, x, λ), t≠τi and x(τ+i) = Bix(τi) + gi(x(τi), λ), i ∈ N in Banach spaces, assuming that the linear impulsive differential equation x'= A(t)x, t≠τi and x(τ+i) = Bix(τi), i ∈ N admits a nonuniform (μ, ν)-dichotomy. It is shown that the stable invariant manifolds are Lipschitz continuous in the parameter λ and the initial values provided that the nonlinear perturbations f, g are sufficiently small Lipschitz perturbations.  相似文献

Consider the abstract linear functional equation (FE) (Dx)(t) = f(t) (t ? 0), x(t) = ?(t) (t ? 0) in a Banach space B. A theorem is proven which contains the following result as a special case. Let Y(R; B; η) be a Lp-space or C0-space on R = (?t8, ∞), with a suitable weight function η, and with values in B. Let D be a closed (unbounded) causal linear operator in Y(R; B; η), which commutes with translations. Suppose that D + λI has a continuous causal inverse for some complex λ, and that D restricted to those functions in Y(R;B;η) which vanish on R? = (?∞, 0] has a continuous causal inverse. Then (FE) generates a strongly continuous semigroup of translation type on a Banach space, which is essentially the cross product of the restriction of the domain of D to R? and Y(R+; B; η). Examples with B = Cn on how the theory applies to a neutral functional differential equation, a difference equation, a Volterra integrodifferential equation (with nonintegrable kernel but integrable resolvent), and a fractional order functional differential equation are given. Also, an abstract neutral functional differential equation in a Hilbert space is studied and applications to an abstract Volterra integrodifferential equation in a Banach space are indicated.  相似文献

In this article we prove new results concerning the existence and various properties of an evolution system UA+B(t,s)0?s?t?T generated by the sum −(A(t)+B(t)) of two linear, time-dependent and generally unbounded operators defined on time-dependent domains in a complex and separable Banach space B. In particular, writing L(B) for the algebra of all linear bounded operators on B, we can express UA+B(t,s)0?s?t?T as the strong limit in L(B) of a product of the holomorphic contraction semigroups generated by −A(t) and −B(t), respectively, thereby proving a product formula of the Trotter-Kato type under very general conditions which allow the domain D(A(t)+B(t)) to evolve with time provided there exists a fixed set D?t∈[0,T]D(A(t)+B(t)) everywhere dense in B. We obtain a special case of our formula when B(t)=0, which, in effect, allows us to reconstruct UA(t,s)0?s?t?T very simply in terms of the semigroup generated by −A(t). We then illustrate our results by considering various examples of nonautonomous parabolic initial-boundary value problems, including one related to the theory of time-dependent singular perturbations of self-adjoint operators. We finally mention what we think remains an open problem for the corresponding equations of Schrödinger type in quantum mechanics.  相似文献

Let Σ(S(⋅),B,−) be a Pritchard-Salamon system for (W,V), where W and V are Hilbert spaces. Suppose U is a Hilbert space and FL(W,U) is an admissible output operator, SBF(⋅) is the corresponding admissible perturbation C0-semigroup. We show that the C0-semigroup SBF(⋅) persists norm continuity, compactness and analyticity of C0-semigroup S(⋅) on W and V, respectively. We also characterize the compactness and norm continuity of ΔBF(t)=SBF(t)−S(t) for t>0. In particular, we unexpectedly find that ΔBF(t) is norm continuous for t>0 on W and V if the embedding from W into V is compact. Moreover, from this we give some relations between the spectral bounds and growth bounds of SBF(⋅) and S(⋅), so we obtain some new stability results.  相似文献

In this paper we consider extreme points and support points for compact subclasses of normalized biholomorphic mappings of the Euclidean unit ball Bn in Cn. We consider the class S0(Bn) of biholomorphic mappings on Bn which have parametric representation, i.e., they are the initial elements f (·, 0) of a Loewner chain f (z, t) = etz + ··· such that {e-tf (·, t)}t 0 is a normal family on Bn. We show that if f (·, 0) is an extreme point (respectively a support point) of S0(Bn), then e-tf (·, t) is an extreme point of S0(Bn) for t 0 (respectively a support point of S0(Bn) for t ∈[0, t0] and some t0 > 0). This is a generalization to the n-dimensional case of work due to Pell. Also, we prove analogous results for mappings which belong to S0(Bn) and which are bounded in the norm by a fixed constant. We relate the study of this class to reachable sets in control theory generalizing work of Roth. Finally we consider extreme points and support points for biholomorphic mappings of Bn generated by using extension operators that preserve Loewner chains.  相似文献

A Möbius plane M is an S1(3, q + 1, q2 + 1), where q is a positive integer. Let A be a fixed block in M. If A is deleted from M together with the points contained in A, then we obtain a residual design M′ with parameters λ0 = q3 + q ? 1, λ1 = q2 + q, λ2 = q + 1, λ3 = 1, K = {q + 1, q, q ? 1}, and υ = q2 ? 1. We define a design to be a pseudo-block-residual design of order q (abbreviated by PBRD(q)) if it has these parameters. We consider the reconstruction problem of a Möbius plane from a given PBRD(q). Let B and B′ be two blocks in a residual design M′. If B and B′ are tangent to each other at a point x, and there exists a block C of size q + 1 such that C is tangent to B at x and is secant to B′, then we say B is r-tangent to B′ at x. A PBRD(q) is said to satisfy the r-tangency condition if for every block B of size q, and any two points x and y not in B, there exists at most one block which is r-tangent to B and contains x and y. We show that any PBRD(q)D can be uniquely embedded into a Möbius plane if and only if D satisfies the r-tangency condition.  相似文献

We suggest a geometric approach to the controllability of nonautonomous linear control systems of the form $\dot x = A(t)x + B(t)u$ , x ?? ? n , u ?? U ? ? m , with conical control constraint set U and continuous matrices A(t) and B(t). We derive two new complete controllability criteria, the first of which is reduced to the analysis of the arrangement of the cones ???1(t)B(t)U in the state space of the system [ $\dot \Phi (t) = \left. {A(t)\Phi } \right|(t)$ , ??(0) = E] and the second is based on the existence of appropriate controls bringing zero back to zero. We prove a theorem on the approximation of the control constraint set U by cones with finitely many generators lying inside the cone U with the preservation of the complete controllability property. We present a number of examples illustrating some peculiarities in the evolution of controllability sets of nonautonomous linear systems.  相似文献
