We present recent lattice results on the baryon spectrum, nucleon electromagnetic and axial form factors, nucleon to △ transition form factors as well as the △ electromagnetic form factors. The masses of the low lying baryons and the nucleon form factors are calculated using two degenerate flavors of twisted mass fermions down to pion mass of about 270 MeV. We compare to the results of other collaborations. The nucleon to △ transition and △ form factors are calculated in a hybrid scheme, which uses staggered sea quarks and domain wall valence quarks. The dominant magnetic dipole nucleon to △ transition form factor is also evaluated using dynamical domain wall fermions. The momentum frame are extracted using the form factors transverse density distributions of the △ in the infinite determined from lattice QCD.  相似文献

Recent measurements of nucleon resonance transition form factors with CLAS at Jefferson Lab are discussed. The new data confirm the assertion of the symmetric constituent quark model of the Roper as the first radial excitation of the nucleon. The data on high Q2 nπ+ production better constrain the branching ratios liNK and [3Nn. For the first time, the longitudinal transition amplitude to the S11(1535) was extracted from the nπ+ data. Also, new results on the transition amplitudes for the D13(1520) resonance are presented showing a rapid transition from helicity 3/2 dominance seen at the real photon point to helicty 1/2 dominance at higher Q2. I also discuss the status of the search for new excited nucleon states.  相似文献

Two basic motivations for an upgraded JLab facility are the needs: to determine the essential nature of light-quark confinement and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking (DCSB); and to understand nucleon structure and spectroscopy in terms of QCD's elementary degrees of freedom. During the next ten years a programme of experiment and theory will be conducted that can address these questions. We present a Dyson- Schwinger equation perspective on this effort with numerous illustrations, amongst them: an interpretation of string~breaking; a symmetry-preserving truncation for mesons; the nucleon's strangeness σ-term; and the neutron's charge distribution.  相似文献

We present measurements of the γγ* → π^0 transition form factor for the momentum transfer range Q^2=4-40 GeV^2 and the γγ* → ηc transition form factor for the range Q^2=2-50 GeV^2. The current status of measurements of the meson-photon transition form factors for the η and η' mesons is discussed. The results of the measurement of the ηc mass, total and two-photon widths are also presented.  相似文献

The electromagnetic probe is an excellent tool to investigate the structure of the nucleon. The nearly 4π detector PANDA, will allow to make a precise determination of the electromagnetic form factors of the proton in the time-like region with unprecedented precision. In the one-photon exchange approximation, the center of mass unpolarized differential cross section of the reaction pp → e+e- is a linear combination of the squared moduli of the electric GE and magnetic GM proton form factors. The precise measurement of the angular distribution over almost full angular range then directly gives these quantities. At present only two experiments have provided the ratio R=| GE|/|GM| but with large statistical uncertainties. It is shown that with strict PID cuts and a kinematic fit, the dominant background, pp→π+π-, can be supressed to much less than 1% of the signal, without affecting the extraction of the ratio R. PANDA will therefore offer a unique opportunity to measure the ratio with a precision ranging from 〈1% at low q2 up to 30 % for q2 = 14 (GeV/c)2.  相似文献

We present a precise BABAR measurement on the cross section of the process e^+e^- →π^+π^-(γ) from threshold to an energy of 3 GeV with the initial state radiation (ISR) technique, using 232 fb^-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at e^+e^- center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV. The ISR luminosity is determined from a study of the leptonic process e^+e^- →μ^+μ^-γ(γ). The leading-order hadronic contribution to the muon magnetic anomaly calculated using the ππ cross section measured from threshold to 1.8 GeV is (514.1± 2.2(stat) ± 3.1(syst)) × 10^-10.  相似文献

In this proceeding, I review the attempts to calculate the Nucleon resonance (including Roper as first radially excited state of nucleon and other excited states) using lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD). The latest preliminary results from Hadron Spectrum Collaboration (HSC) with mπ≈ 380 MeV are reported. The Sachs electric form factor of the proton and neutron and their transition with the Roper at large Q2 are also updated in this work.  相似文献

The high intensity and high energy antiproton beams which will be produced at FAIR open the possibility to determine time-like electromagnetic form factors in a wide kinematical range, through the annihilation reaction: p + p → e^+ + e^-. The status of the proposed experiment as well as the expected results are presented on the basis of realistic simulations. The impact of these measurements on the understanding of the nucleon structure, of the asymptotic properties of form factors and of the reaction mechanism are discussed using model independent statements based on symmetry properties of the strong and electromagnetic interactions in connection with space-like data.  相似文献

Starting from a simple transformation, and with the aid of symbolic computation, we establish the relation- ship between the solution of a generalized variable coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (vKP) equation and the solution of a system of linear partial differential equations. According to this relation, we obtain Wronskian form solutions of the vKP equation, and further present N-soliton-like solutions for some degenerated forms of the vKP equation. Moreover, we also discuss the influences of arbitrary constants on the soliton and N-soliton solutions of the KPII equation.  相似文献

The KLOE experiment at the φ-factory DAФPNE has measured the pion form factor in the range between 0.1 〈 Mππ^2 〈 0.85 GeV^2 using events taken at √s = 1 GeV with a photon emitted at large polar angles in the initial state. This measurement extends the Mππ^2 region covered by KLOE ISR measurements of the pion form factor down to the two pion production threshold. The value obtained in this measurement of the dipion contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment of △αμ^ππ= (478.5±2-0stat±4.8syst±2.9theo)·10^-10 further confirms the discrepancy between the Standard Model evaluation for αμ and the experimental value measured by the (g-2) collaboration at BNL.  相似文献

The new e^+e^- storage ring, VEPP-2000, is being commissioned at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Novosibirsk. Measurement of the total cross section e^+e^- → hadrons in the whole VEPP-2000 energy range is one of the main goals of the new experiments. We report the analysis status of single π0electroproduction in the resonance region to study the electromagnetic excitation of the nucleon resonances. The study is aimed at understanding of the internal structure and dynamics of the nucleon. The experiment was performed using an unpolarized cryogenic hydrogen target and 2.0 and 5.8 GeV polarized electron beam during the ele and e1-6 run periods with CLAS at Jefferson Lab. The new measurements will produce a data base with high statistics and large kinematic coverage for the hadronic invariant mass (W) up to 2.0 CeV in the momentum transfer (Q2) range of 0.3--6.0 GeV2. Preliminary results will be presented and compared with the various model calculations.  相似文献

The results of two-boson-exchange effects in the parity-violating elastic electron-proton scattering are reported based on a simple hadronic model. The corrections are calculated including the nucleon and △(1232) intermediate states. Recent results on nucleon resonance studies in π+π-p electro- production off protons with the CLAS detector are presented. The analysis of CLAS data allowed us to determine all essential contributiag mechanisms, providing a credible separation between resonant and non-resonant parts of the cross sections in a wide kinematical area of invariant masses of the final hadronic system 1.3 〈 W 〈 1.8 GeV and photon virtutualities 0.2 〈 Q2 〈 1.5 GeV2. Electrocouplings of several excited proton states with masses less than 1.8 GeV were obtained for the first time from the analysis of π+π-p exclusive electroproduction channel.  相似文献

BABAR has measured with unprecedented accuracy the e^+e^- → pp and e^+e^- →∧∧ cross sections by means of the initial state radiation technique, which has the advantages of good efficiency, good energy resolution and full angular acceptance, even exactly at threshold. A peculiar feature of these cross sections is their non-vanishing values at threshold. In the case of charged baryons, this phenomenon is expected according to the Coulomb interaction between the outgoing baryon and antibaryon. Once this Coulomb enhancement factor is taken into account, the striking result is achieved that the proton form factor at threshold is |GP(4Mp^2)| = 1, that is what is expected for pointlike fermion pairs, in spite of the proton structure. However a Coulomb enhancement factor is not expected for neutral fermions, likely in contradiction with the BABAR data. Qualitatively this behaviour is consistent with Coulomb interactions at the valence quark level.  相似文献

Analyticity of nucleon form factors allows to derive sum rules which, using space-like and time-like data as input, can give unique information about behaviors in energy regions not experimentally accessible. Taking advantage from new time-like data on proton-antiproton differential cross section and hence the possibility to separate electric and magnetic form factors also in the time-like region, we verify the consistency of the asymptotic behavior predicted by the perturbative QCD for the proton magnetic form factor.  相似文献

The unitary isobar model MAID2007 has been used to analyze the recent data of pion electroproduction. The model contains all four-star resonances in the region below W = 2 GeV and both single-Q2 and Q2 dependent transition form factors could be obtained for the Delta, Roper, D13(1520), S11 (1535), S31 (1620), $11(1650), D15(1675), F15(1680) and P13(1720). From the complete world data base, including also π data on the neutron, also Q2 dependent neutron form factors are obtained. For all transition form factors we also give convenient numerical parameterizations that can be used in other reactions. Furthermore, we show how the transition form factors can be used to obtain empirical transverse charge densities and our first results are given for the Roper, the S11 and D13 resonances.  相似文献
