Some oscillation criteria are established by the averaging technique for the second order neutral delay differential equation of Emden-Fowler type (a(t)x¢(t))¢+q1(t)| y(t-s1)|a sgn y(t-s1) +q2(t)| y(t-s2)|b sgn y(t-s2)=0,    t 3 t0,(a(t)x'(t))'+q_1(t)| y(t-\sigma_1)|^{\alpha}\,{\rm sgn}\,y(t-\sigma_1) +q_2(t)| y(t-\sigma_2)|^{\beta}\,{\rm sgn}\,y(t-\sigma_2)=0,\quad t \ge t_0, where x(t) = y(t) + p(t)y(t − τ), τ, σ1 and σ2 are nonnegative constants, α > 0, β > 0, and a, p, q 1, q2 ? C([t0, ¥), \Bbb R)q_2\in C([t_0, \infty), {\Bbb R}) . The results of this paper extend and improve some known results. Summary LetX(t) be a linear autoregressively generated explosive time series, with autoregressive coefficientsb 1,…,bq, and a constant termb 0, and an error term ; a0=1. Where ε(t),t≧1 are independent, Eε(t)=0, and Eε 2(t)=σ2 is positive and finite. In this paper two categories of -consisent and asymptotically singularly normal estimators are proposed for (b 1,…,bq, b0) thus settling an open problem since the publication of the paper (Venkataraman [5]). Based on these estimators several additional limit theorems based on estimated error residuals are proved. The parameter-free limit theorems of Spectral and Quenouille types of this paper serve as asymptotic goodness of fit tests for the model generatingX(t).  相似文献

The main purpose of the paper is to strengthen previous author’s results. Let k be a field of characteristic ≠ 2, n ≥ 2. Suppose that elements are linearly independent over ℤ/2ℤ. We construct a field extension K/k and a quaternion algebra D = (u, v) over K such that
(1)  the field K has no proper extension of odd degree
(2)  the u-invariant of K equals 4
(3)  the multiquadratic extension is not 4-excellent, and the quadratic form 〈uv,-u,-v, a〉 provides a relevant counterexample
(4)  the central division algebra A = D ⊗E (a, t0) ⊗E (b1, t1) ⋯ ⊗E (bn, tn) does not decompose into a tensor product of two nontrivial central simple algebras over E, where E = K ((t0))((t1)) … ((tn)) is the Laurent series field in the variables t0, t1, …, tn

In particular, the algebra A provides an example of an indecomposable algebra of index 2n+1 over a field, the u-invariant and the 2-cohomological dimension of which equal 2n+3 and n + 3, respectively. Following appropriate use of approximate functional equation for Hurwitz Zeta function, we obtain upper bounds for } Here fors = σ + it, L(s,x) denotes DirichletL-series for character x(modq). For a Lie algebra L, a bilinear map is called a commutative cocycle if ψ(a, b) = ψ(b, a) and ψ([a, b], c) + ψ([b, a], c) + ψ([c, a], b) = 0 for any a, b, cL. We prove that any commutative cocycle of a simple Lie algebra of characteristic p ≠ 2, 3 is trivial if the rank of L is at least 2. In particular, any two-sided Alia algebra connected with a simple, finite-dimensional Lie algebra L is isomorphic to L, except for the case where L = sl 2 . We study the structural properties of the class Mk,λ,b(k≥2, 0≤λ≤1, b∈ℂ\{0}) of functions f(z)=z+ ... which are regular in |z|<1 and satisfy the conditions f(z)f′(z)z−1≠0 and , where J(z)=λ(1+b−1zf″(z)/f′(z)+(1−λ)(b−1zf′(z)/f(z)+1−b−1). For positive integers p = k + 2, we construct a logarithmic extension of the conformal field theory of integrable representations by taking the kernel of two fermionic screening operators in a butterfly resolution of a three-boson realization of . The currents W(z) and W+(z) of a W-algebra acting in the kernel are determined by a highest-weight state of dimension 4p − 2 and charge 2p − 1 and by a (θ=1)-twisted highest-weight state of the same dimension 4p − 2 and opposite charge −2p+1. We construct 2p W-algebra representations, evaluate their characters, and show that together with the p−1 integrable representation characters, they generate a modular group representation whose structure is described as a deformation of the (9p−3)-dimensional representation R p+1⊕ℂ2R p+1ʕR p−1⊕ℂ2 R p−1⊕ℂ3 R p−1, where R p−1 is the SL(2, ℤ)-representation on integrable-representation characters and R p+1 is a (p+1)-dimensional SL(2, ℤ)-representation known from the logarithmic (p, 1) model. The dimension 9p − 3 is conjecturally the dimension of the space of torus amplitudes, and the ℂn with n = 2 and 3 suggest the Jordan cell sizes in indecomposable W-algebra modules. The inequality of Higman for generalized quadrangles of order (s,t) with s>1 states that ts 2. We generalize this by proving that the intersection number c i of a regular near 2d-gon of order (s,t) with s>1 satisfies the tight bound c i ≤(s 2i −1)/(s 2−1), and we give properties in case of equality. It is known that hemisystems in generalized quadrangles meeting the Higman bound induce strongly regular subgraphs. We also generalize this by proving that a similar subset in regular near 2d-gons meeting the bounds would induce a distance-regular graph with classical parameters (d,b,α,β)=(d,−q,−(q+1)/2,−((−q) d +1)/2) with q an odd prime power.  相似文献

Given a graph G with characteristic polynomial ϕ(t), we consider the ML-decomposition ϕ(t) = q 1(t)q 2(t)2 ... q m (t)m, where each q i (t) is an integral polynomial and the roots of ϕ(t) with multiplicity j are exactly the roots of q j (t). We give an algorithm to construct the polynomials q i (t) and describe some relations of their coefficients with other combinatorial invariants of G. In particular, we get new bounds for the energy E(G) = |λi| of G, where λ1, λ2, ..., λn are the eigenvalues of G (with multiplicity). Most of the results are proved for the more general situation of a Hermitian matrix whose characteristic polynomial has integral coefficients.
