| 摘 要： | The purpose of this paper is twofold. In first place we extend some ofthe recent results of Jawerth and Torchinsky concerning local maximalfunctions in R~n to the more general context of spaces of homogeneous type.The John-Nirenberg inequality is contained in our results. In second place wediscuss the BMO_(log)~k spaces considered by Long Ruilin and Yang Lo. This
