THE ROLE OF THE LABORATORY IN CHEMICAL EDUCATION

Abstract:Introduction The laboratory has been given a central and distinctive role in science education. The identity of the best kinds of experiences and how these may be blended with more conventional learning experiences has not yet been objectively evaluated. A clear direction for laboratory instruction based on research is not yet available to teaching chemists.
