Abstract:The structure, reducibility and acid base properties of a Cu/Zn/Al/Zr catalyst have been studied by BET, XRD, TPD and FT IR techniques. The results show that the surface area of the catalyst is as high as 130 m 2/g and the components of the catalyst are fully dispersed. Only one hydrogen consumption peak is found by TPR. TPD results show that there exist two types of acid sites and two types of base sites on the surface of catalysts. From the above results it is proposed that Al and Zr in the catalyst compose the sites of acid and base on the surface. It has also been found that active components can prevent copper from aggregating.
