Abstract:A glycoprotein was isolated from Chinese spirulina. Purification of this glycoprotein was accomplished by foam in a loop bubble column and gel chromatography on Sephacryl S100. The homogeneity of this glycoprotein was proven by gel filtration on Sephadex G200 and SDSPAGE. The molecular weight of the glycoprotein was \{130 000\}. Characterization of this glycoprotein by IR analysis showed the typical absorption of polysaccharide and indicated the presence of glycoside linkage. Elimination reaction demonstrated the existence of Oglycosidic linkage in this spirulina glycoprotein.
