| Abstract: | The electronegativity X of nonconjugated convalent groups can be calculated by the following formulawhere X0 and Xi are respectively Pauling's electronegativity of its central atom and of the element or group connected to its central atom. That is the method of our progressive arithmetic mean. With this method, a number of the rules related to organic chemistry can be investigated. |
