| Abstract: | Chloro‐N′,N′‐dimethylformamidinium‐(dimethylcyanamide)trichloroberyllate, Me2NC(Cl)NH2]+BeCl3(NCNMe2)]? Chloro‐N′,N′‐dimethylformamidinium‐(dimethylcyanamide)trichloroberyllate, Me2NC(Cl)NH2]+BeCl3(NCNMe2)]? was prepared from BeCl2 with two equivalents of dimethylcyanamide in CH2Cl2 suspension. The compound was characterized by X‐ray crystallography and by IR spectroscopy. Space group  , Z = 2, lattice dimensions at 193 K: a = 620.7(1), b = 744.9(2), c = 1520.3(3) pm, α = 96.87(2)°, β = 100.41(2)°, γ = 100.17(2)°, R1 = 0.0443. Cations and anions form N–H…Cl hydrogen bridges along 010]. |
