Abstract:	The protonation of o-methoxy- and o-hydroxy-benzaldehydes in FSO₃H? SbF₅? SO₂ solution was investigated by ¹H NMR spectroscopy. The formation of the Z-carbonyl protonated molecule is explained by intramolecular hydrogen bonding.
