Preparation,IR Characterization and Thermal Properties of Some Metal Complexes of Isatin-3-oxime

Abstract:The synthesis and characterization of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Ag(I), Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes of isatin-3-oxime (H2OXI) are reported. Elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffraction were used to characterize the complexes. The IR spectral data show that the ligand behaves in a monodentate or a bidentate manner in the different complexes. The compositions of the prepared complexes were Ag(HOXI), Hg(OXI) and M(HOXI)2 for M=Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II).This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.
