| Abstract: | Recently photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) has emerged as a useful tool for studying optical absorption of weak absorbance meterials. Liquid PAS has been described both theoretically and experimentally in this paper. The physical basis of pulsed direct PA generation, fundamentals of PA detection in liquid, the designs and characteristics of the cell and transducers for liquid PAS detection are presented. Some liquid PAS applications to trace analysis, weak absorbance detection, two-photon absorbance, overtone absorbance spectroscopy, high-performance liquid chroma tography and its applications in biology are dicussed with 42 references. |
