| Abstract: | Pure acetanilide was obtained by repeated recrystallization. It was then analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry, followed by determination of aniline by thinlayer chromatographic scanning, determination of acetic acid by acidometer, and determination of moisture and ash by gravimetric method. The analytical results of C,H and N in purified products by elemental analysis were compared with the stoichiometric values,the results show that purified acetanilide by recrystallization can be used as standard reference substance for C,H and N analysis. |
