| Abstract: | Heterogeneous photocatalytic degradation of organic contaminants in wasted water on semiconductors attracts interests of many people who work in environmental sciences and engineerings in the world. In this paper, an outline is given on photocatalysis of semiconductors including the features of semiconductors in photoelectrochemistry, the mechanism and kinetics of photocatalytic degradation of organic compounds, the methodology and principle of surface modification of semiconductor photocatalysts, and so on. An attempt is made to discuss the trends of photocatalysis in environmental aspects. |
